Can you prove that the picture was taken during elections?  Maybe a pic including the ballot box?
While I do not know if the OP meant this other than to satirize the numerous spurious and inflammatory allegations made on this site since the election, it is good to finally see the beginning of moderator challenges to non-credible threads that are sprouting from all corners.  For example, the posting of morbid pictures of tragic events totally unrelated to any post-election strife being used to buttress claims of "war" in the North.  undecided

. . . I don't understand promoting virginity for women. . .
Are you serious?  I find the reason is quite transparent and cogent.  Except for those determined to have an endless and fruitless debate.  There is no society in the world where female promiscuity is encouraged.

To borrow a girl's line from a popular script: "You see how picky I am about my shoes and they only go on my feet."  Think about it.   wink

To the OP: Stick to your convictions; No explanations necessary.

Translation:

When the tribulations of life cause misery and the sons of man cause
sorrow, let your thoughts be still on my vow of truth with you. Though I
possess no power to still the storms of life or change the heart of men; be
enlivened my friend and remember to let your heart rejoice because nothing
lasts forever neither does life run a smooth course.

Truly, the Almighty alone is the one and only true friend and there's no
tower of strength like the Glorious King, full of wonders; my hope is in
Him (in the Lord) and my heart believes that only positive wonders shall He
make of us.
Nevertheless, I extend a hand of friendship, devoid of thoughts of betrayal
and hope for wholehearted acceptance because I know that every son of Adam
needs a confidant that makes the cross of life, lighter a burden to bear.

I am for you and vow to share with you all that I have. I desire to rejoice
with you in times aplenty and empathise in lean seasons.

Have faith that my love for you shall remain eternal so help me God ( Amen)

There is it!  Thank you o jare.  Tough for anyone.  Well, the writer is exceptional.  Cos I couldn't write like that even if I undertake to immerse myself in Yoruba literature and nothing but, for the next 6 months straight.  lol.

Dear Isale,

When the challenges of life make us faint and mankind brings us much sorrow, let your thoughts toward me be anchored on the faithfulness that exists between you and I.

Great! Thanks. That was really hard to translate. Don't you agree that it is not everyday Yoruba that people speak to each other? It's not even the kind of Yoruba you would typically write someone. Am I wrong? I always make excuses that it's due to the lack of accents or tonal markings on the vowels when I have trouble reading Yoruba, but in this case, even the words were hard to identify.

The degree of difficulty of understanding it is like a 5, if you ask me. smiley

Yoruba Language - Lesson 1

Assignment:
1) TRANSLATE into English;
2) State the DEGREE OF DIFFICULTY of translation, using a rating of 1-5, 1 being easy Yoruba that a 12 yr old bilingual speaker should know, and 5 being Yoruba so hard and obsolete only a grandfather or a Yoruba college major would understand.

I am serious.  Everyone (reading it) has to do this!   cool

More from Rumi:

All day I think about it, then at night I say it.
Where did I come from, and what am I supposed to be doing?
I have no idea.
My soul is from elsewhere, I'm sure of that,
and I intend to end up there.

This drunkenness began in some other tavern.
When I get back around to that place,
I'll be completely sober. Meanwhile,
I'm like a bird from another continent, sitting in this aviary.
The day is coming when I fly off,
but who is it now in my ear who hears my voice?
Who says words with my mouth?

Who looks out with my eyes? What is the soul?
I cannot stop asking.
If I could taste one sip of an answer,
I could break out of this prison for drunks.
I didn't come here of my own accord, and I can't leave that way.
Whoever brought me here will have to take me home.

This poetry, I never know what I'm going to say.
I don't plan it.
When I'm outside the saying of it,
I get very quiet and rarely speak at all.

              ~

O Prince,
with your tiny horse and saddle,
You're a charlatan! A knave!
Though your head is bound in gold cloth
Your eyes see only what they want to see.

You say, "Where is death? I don't see death!"
Death will greet you from all six directions
and say, "Here I am."
Death will say,
"O donkey, your running about is over."
Where is your moustache, your pride,
your turned-up nose? - Gone.
Where is your beautiful maiden? - Gone.
Where is your glimmer of happiness? - Gone.
Who will come to make your bed
now that your pillow is a brick
and your blanket is the earth? . . .

Say good-bye to your eating and sleeping.
Go and seek the truth within.
Throw away your petty rituals
and become a prince of eternity.

Don't take the soul from your soul.
Don't turn this bread into poison.
Can't you see? -
Someone has tossed a pearl
into the bottom of a dung heap.
It is only for the sake of that pearl
that we cover our hands with dung.

O soul,
Don't be so hard - break!
Find a lustrous pearl
among the broken shells
of your pride.

When you see a man of God
offer him your service.
When you are troubled and in pain
just keep going. . . .

O body, what a joke! -
The Prince I'm looking for is me
yet I spend all my time
thinking I am you!

O Shams, Lord of Tabriz,
You are the water of life -
Who shall drink of your water,
save one with a tearful eye?

              ~

Can you find another market like this?
Where, with your one rose
you can buy hundreds of rose gardens?

Where,
for one seed
get a whole wilderness?

For one weak breath,
a divine wind?

You've been fearful
of being absorbed in the ground,
or drawn up by the air.

Now, your waterbead lets go
and drops into the ocean,
where it came from.

It no longer has the form it had,
but it's still water.
The essence is the same.

This giving up is not a repenting.
It's a deep honoring of yourself.

When the ocean comes to you
as a lover,
marry at once,
quickly,
for God's sake!

Don't postpone it!
Existence has no better gift.

No amount of searching will find this.

A perfect falcon,
for no reason
has landed on your shoulder,
and become yours.
