PS: Ileke is around 21 or 22. She is still in college and still calls her mom like a lil girl.  I was told by people who know her very well.
Georgia.

I know.  With Ileke, she's either 23 or 33 or 43/44.  Then she calls you her little bro.  Leaves me befuddled cos I'm hoping you're much older than that.

Did you really finish college in 2007?  That's USA right?

P.S. That would mean you're under 30. Don't tell me. sad

Where in abroad are you?

And I'm looking to move up north (i.e maine, NY, NJ, etc) in a few (very few) months. . . . for jobs and schooling. What type of challenges should I be looking forward to?

I.e, environmental challenges, services, job search, the people etc.

SportsRe: Okafor’s Family Accuse Us Police Of Racism by isalegan2: 7:50pm On Jan 24, 2011
Police put the cause of death as suicide but later changed and said the cause was “undetermined.”

This followed the resilience of Ugo and later supported by Anthony Ogbe of the Nigerian Consulate in Atlanta . The Police were compelled to respect the report of the medical examiner who did not rush to conclude that suicide had taken place.

“From what we have experienced here, I read a clear case of racism with regard to the police. They have not done a thorough job in the death of Uche Okafor and they know it,” Ugo said angri ly yesterday.

He further added.
“Finger prints were not taken, neighbours were not interviewed or asked questions and the man who called Uche’s wife to inform that he was not picking his calls and even suggested that she should go to the house to find out why has not even been questioned by the police.

What a shoddy job. When Anthony Ogbe of the Nigerian Consulate told the police that they should take their investigation seriously because Uche was a Nigerian hero and that people of Nigeria were highly interested in the case, the police sergeant who responded said that Uche might have been a Nigerian star but he was not as big as the American football and basketball stars. We were all shocked by his remarks.

I immediately concluded that their action smacked of racism. And because of this, we may hire private investigator and another medical examiner. Uche will not go down without proper investigation.”
Ugo said that there would be a Christian wake in Dallas February 4 in Dallas and that burial has tentatively been fixed for February 19 in Owerri.
He'll be buried in Nigeria.  That's good.

Uche’s body was also said not to have exhibited features common with a body that dies through hanging.
Then what was cause of death?

Update:

Uche Okafor: FG awaits FBI report
By Fidelis Ebu, Abuja
Jan 24, 2011
Vanguard Newspaper

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Odein Ajumogobia (SAN) said at the weekend that the Federal Government would not take any action on the death of  former Super Eagles’ defender, Uche Okafor until the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) submits its report.

While responding to questions from newsmen, Ajumogobia said the Federal Government for now cannot do anything until the investigations are properly concluded by the Bureau.

“It’s after  the FBI report that the Federal Government can now step into the matter and find a way forward”, he said.
Okafor, whose corpse is being expected for burial next month, was earlier speculated to have committed suicide. But the US police have made a volte face on the suicide claim to make thorough investigation after the Nigerian community disagreed with their  shoddy  investigation.

P.S. Stranger, did you like any of the songs?  Do you know anything about Eva Cassidy?  I'm sure there is one very important thing about her you should already know if you searched on her at all.

This thread is already derailed. Talk about anything you want.  I'm gonna let it evolve into my general/all-purpose thread.  I don't care to talk about Oprah - posted it cos it was the 1st "news story" I saw this morning.

How have you been the last couple of days?  How was your weekend?  How's your life abroad? (on-topic for foreign affairs.)  cool

Today in America:

All the U.S. morning news shows are saying Oprah's (this month's big publicity stunt is that she's) got a secret to reveal.  Today, I guess.

Who gives a crap?  Is she finally going to confirm?:
- No one knows who her real daddy is cos . . .  lipsrsealed
- That she's a semi-literate heifer who wouldn't know a good book if it fell on her head; Book Club ko Meat Club ni
- That . . . .

Okay, I'll be nice.  I'm not on the Oprah parade.  'Tis all a bunch of hype.

People get ready, original by Curtis Mayfield
Rearranged and sung by Eva Cassidy

People get ready, there's a train a comin'
You don't need no baggage, you just get on board
All you need is faith to hear diesels are hummin'
You don't need no ticket, you just thank the Lord

People get ready for the train to Jordan
Picking up passengers from coast to coast
Faith is the key, open the doors and board 'em
There's room for all, not the loved and lost.

Now there ain't no room for the hopeless sinner
Who's hard on mankind just to save his own
Have pity on those whose chances are thinner
'Cause there's no hiding place from the Kingdom's storm

Oh people get ready, there's a train a comin'
You don't need no baggage, you just get on board
All you need is faith to hear diesels hummin'
You don't need no ticket, you just thank the Lord

I'm getting ready
I am ready yeah
Oh, I'm getting ready
I am ready yeah

Fields Of Gold, original by Sting
This version re-arranged and sung by Eva Cassidy

You'll remember me when the west wind moves
Among the fields of barley
You can tell the sun in his jealous sky
When we walked in fields of gold

So she took her love for to gaze awhile
Among the fields of barley
In his arms she fell as her hair came down
Among the fields of gold

Will you stay with me will you be my love
Among the fields of barley
And you can tell the sun in his jealous sky
When we walked in fields of gold

I never made promises lightly
And there have been some that I've broken
But I swear in the days still left
We will walk in fields of gold
We'll walk in fields of gold

I never made promises lightly
And there have been some that I've broken
But I swear in the days still left
We will walk in fields of gold
We'll walk in fields of gold

Many years have passed since those summer days
Among the fields of barley
See the children run as the sun goes down
As you lie in fields of gold

You'll remember me when the west wind moves
Among the fields of barley
You can tell the sun in his jealous sky
When we walked in fields of gold
When we walked in fields of gold
When we walked in fields of gold
I'd like to see everyones face when it is finally revealed that Kobo is actually a guy. @OP: If you truly have issues with papers as some have alluded here, I'd advice you to look towards Canada. It takes approximately eight months to get the "Landed Status" which is the equivalent of a Green Card. I advised a friend of my uncle who had stayed here for over 20 years without being able to get a Green Card. About a year after he landed in Canada he became legalized. I'm giving this suggestion because a lot of people advising u seem concerned on your ability to return to the United States (or the Western World at least) if u were to depart for Nigeria. Well, good luck and I wish you the best.
Very good, Jay.  Even if the poster doesn't need the info, it will help out a lot of people.  There are lots of immigrants with worries, you know.  Some are not necessarily already out-of-status but maybe are concerned about becoming that way.  The Canada idea was suggested to a friend of mine but I'm not sure why they didn't go through with it.  I myself do not know much about the process there. Unfortunately, the husband was deported before the couple could get their act together.

I hope you're getting along with PhysicsQD/MD.
