olaheavy: AJISAFE! AJISAFE! AJISAFE! Infact, it has to be AJISAFE a million times over! You new Yoruba warriors might not know him. He was the Lone Ranger who single-handedly slaughtered millions of Igbos on NL! In those days, the Igbos used to cry a lot whenever Ajisafe dragged them to the slaughter house of the forum. So, they ganged up and went behind the line to put a tremendous PRESSURE on @seun. Evidently, the pressure was too much for @sen to bear that he had to ban AJIBABA, as @jakumo would refer to Ajjisafe in those years. @seun sucked up so bad to the Igbos then that he adopted a moniker, 'nwoke,' for a while! I'm sure @seun has since learned his lesson that he should have left AJISAFE alone to continue 'dealing with' the Igbos. The Igbos are not worthy of being 'rescued.' PLEASE, VOTE FOR AJISAFE, AND PROTEST THAT @seun SHOULD UNBAN HIM!
First time I'm hearing of the guy.

OAM4J: While we moderators strive to be fair and transparent it is also necessary that members stay within rules. We would have no need to ban anyone for long or short time if he/she didn't break any rule.

Before now many will claim they dont know why they were banned; now we try to add the offensive post to the ban message most times, except in a case where the offense span many posts.

Am glad no one is claiming he/she doesn't know why he/she was banned or that he/she is not guilty of breaking the rules. The arguments now is that the ban is too long.

While we look into the long ban issue, may I also plead we stop all these personal/tribal/parental insults. We can have hot steamy and passionate robust debate without throwing personal insults. We will always need to disagree to agree, through that we share uncommon information and knowledge, but how to throw insults is not part of what we need to learn and if we are truly matured as we claim then we can do without breaking rules.

Sometimes it can be annoying banning someone for same offense repeatedly.

Cheers!
Thank you o, Baba SexKillz. cheesy

Let everyone just cool down now. I am not a SekPills hater. I just play with his name, cos he says he doesn't care what people call him. tongue

There was some discussion here earlier today. Yes, the conversation got a little of topic, and he deleted a bunch of posts. Fine. I was not mad at him, at first. I was the one telling another poster not to get personal with him. A couple of my posts were just made in jest, no harm at all. smiley

I think it was my post in another thread that he took the wrong way. Or maybe he was also jesting? huh I don't know. I'm not aware if his humour is deadpan or not. undecided But, there was no threats of banning or any such. smiley

Right now, I am going back to just observing, and being a neutral in the anti-Sexkillz movement. It's up to him if he wants more enemies or more advocates. No wahala. wink S'e gbo, Chief Dudu? grin

Apparently the mods are a little cowardly.
Such threads always end up in General section, so no worries. Just modify your title to include "Politics" or something like that. grin

I don't know that there is that much "bad blood" against moderators.

Where there is, it tends to be the same one(s) challenged by the same group of vocal detractors objecting to the same 'faults'. . .all the time. [e.t.a.: That doesn't mean their complaints are not valid. In some cases, more complainers join them. e.g., Sexkillz. angry ]

Regarding Pukkah's post, I was going to argue that the system currently in place of using regular posters to moderate is adequate. Whatever is wrong with the system is not due to the participation of poster-moderators. A thriving and dynamic discussion forum actually benefit from having an interested and participatory moderatorship. Imagine having moderators that don't care about the subject-matter. shocked lipsrsealed Anyway, Seun won't pay nada.

PoliticsRe: Let's Have Your Complaints, Suggestions & Enquiries Here by isalegan2: 1:55pm On Oct 22, 2013
Pukkah: With the torrents of complaints and tons of allegations of unfair moderation, the Site Administrator needs to commence some far-reaching reforms, especially on the Politics Section. From the look of things, many of the most active posters on the section have lost confidence in the moderators/moderation of the section and have become deeply divided across tribal/sectional lines.

Sometimes even when the moderators are trying their best, the perception by the affected people is that of unfairness and arbitrariness. In order for the Politics section, and Nairaland, to continue growing, something should urgently be done about the loss of confidence.

As a start, I don't think Moderators should have Posting rights. They should not be actors and regulators at the same time. It robs them of the much-needed independence.

In addition, all the present moderators should be retired.

Also, I suggest that:

1. All the present posters should be relieved of their duties.
2. New Moderators, preferably paid ones, should be recruited for the section. The moderators should know that they cannot use their powers arbitrarily and could also be subjected to sanctions when found wanting. They must only side with truth and fairness; and not try to become tribal champions or unconscious bigots.
3. The tribe or nationality of the new mods should not be known to posters.
Do what you will with all the moderators, especially SexPills. Just don't touch my kid, Odumchi. undecided

Can you create a thread for this so it can be properly discussed? Posts here are being hidden like crazy.
PoliticsRe: Are You Interested In Moderating This Section? by isalegan2: 1:40pm On Oct 22, 2013
Take is easy, Chief.

Moderators were never democratically elected. They are selected by Seun. I've seen lots of threads like this, and the most voted doesn't always end up selected. I think it's just a way to drum up interest. wink

I'm thinking we need a thread on SexPills though. Maybe a referendum of Politics section regulars. Resulting in a Vote of No Confidence on him. grin grin cheesy
