Twitter - Daniel Bwala, one of the spokespersons of the Atiku/Okowa presidential campaign organisation has accused the Tinubu/Shettima presidential campaign organisation of carrying out its frustrations on the Arise TV and ThisDay newspaper management.

Bwala was reacting to the war of words between the media group and the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign spokespersons.

Tinubu's spokespersons have been involved in a war of words with the ThisDay/Arise media group. While the media group accused the ruling party's chieftains of trying to stifle free speech, the APC campaign spokespersons accused Nduka Obiaghena, founder of Arise TV/ThisDay newspaper of engaging in corrupt acts in the past.

Bwala, a former APC chieftain, now with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said the recent outing of Tinubu in Chatham House has caused frustration in the ruling party's camp.

He wrote on Twitter:

“Frustrated by utter failure in their Chatham house comedy skits, and possible denial of entry to the United States, they decided to unleash democratic mayhem on anyone at sight. Their first casualty is Arise TV and ThisDay. A stitch in time saves nine.”
‘Present Tinubu for debates, bullying media won’t work’ - Obaigbena tells APC
In a rebuttal issued on Wednesday, December 14, through Fauziya Mohammed, his chief of staff, Obaigbena said contrary to the claims of the APC campaign spokespersons, ThisDay does not owe tax authorities in South Africa.

In a statement seen by Legit.ng, Obaigbena said if they have any evidence, they should publish it, adding that:

“No misinformation, fake news of Bayo Onanuga and Dele Alake will change Obaigbena’s global trajectory.”
2023: I thank God I am not Tinubu's running mate, says Dogara
Meanwhile, ex-Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Yakubu Dogara, has declared that he is grateful he is not Tinubu's running mate in the forthcoming 2023 presidential election.

Dogara made the comment during an interaction with journalists in Bauchi while reacting to a question that he is not supporting the APC presidential candidate because he was not chosen as the vice presidential candidate of the ruling party.

He said:

“I am more than grateful to God that it didn’t happen and so many friends and well wishers have also said to me they are thanking God daily that I am not on that ticket granted what they now see and know about the candidate.”

In a related development, a civil society organisation the Action Alliance of Virginia Pavilion, has called on the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, to disqualify Tinubu from the 2023 presidential contest.

The group in a letter seen by Legit.ng on Tuesday, December 13, stated that Tinubu by virtue of his forfeiture of the sum of $460, 000 to the United States government in 1993 is not fit to hold public office.

In the letter dated Monday, November 14 and signed by the group's lawyer, Mr Kalu Kalu, the group argued that Section 137(1)(d) of the 1999 Constitution forbids anyone under a fine for any offence involving dishonesty or fraud from vying for the office of president in Nigeria.

Atiku once divided PDP and formed a splinter group just because he couldn't have his way. Even the then president, Jonathan made several overtures to him to return to the party but he refused and sabotaged PDP.

Today, he is at receiving end. He has begged Wike and the G5 governors to support his ambition. He has also begged Jonathan but they refused just like he did in 2015!

Karma is indeed a bitch and Atiku deserves everything he is experiencing now.

ASABA – Women from the 25 local government areas of Delta State yesterday drummed support for the candidates of the Labour Party in next year’s general elections.

The Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Labour Party, Prof. Nwabogo Umukoro who stated this after Delta Women’s one million rally for the Labour Party in Asaba, Delta State, said the current ruling party is not gender sensitive.

Umukoro, a professor of Semiotics and Performance Studies, said the rally was to send signals that it was time for women to take charge of affairs in the state.

According to Nwabogo, ” What I mean by that is that for a very long time, we have always had male leadership with men as governor and deputy, but we women, perhaps we have been sleeping; we have woken from our slumber, and we are saying enough is enough.

For next year’s election, we must have the number two position. This is not the first of its kind; we have so many states that produced female deputy governors, and we have never done so in Delta State.

“We want to make history; we want to show that Delta women have capacity also. The fact that we have not come out all this while is perhaps we have been at home learning the ropes, and we have learnt the ropes enough. And we want to come out”.

She maintained that the party has dominated political offices of the state since 1999 has fielded a woman for a Deputy Governor saying they prefer to give women small offices to occupy.

Hence, she insisted that 2023 is the appropriate time to politically liberate women and give them prime places in the governance of the state.

She described her principal and the party’s governorship candidate, Mr. Ken Pela, as gender friendly, noting that her plans for Delta women would be realised should the party win the governorship election.

While she expressed certainty over the victory of the party in the upcoming Presidential elections, she said it was time to move Delta from a consuming to Producing state.

The Special Assistant, Public Communication to Atiku Abubakar, Phrank Shaibu, has claimed that the insecurity rocking Nigeria and the country’s bad economy will jeopardize the chances of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Asiwaju Tinubu, from emerging victorious in next year’s election.

Reacting to a statement titled: ‘A warning to Nigerians’, by the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Campaign Spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, Shaibu urged the APC to focus more on selling its candidate instead of attacking the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.

He called on Nigerians to massively reject the APC in the 2023 general election, accusing the ruling party of plunging many Nigerians into hardship.

He said, “our reaction to the APC is that currently, their party has pushed Nigeria deeper into the abyss of poverty, insecurity, indebtedness. It will be good to challenge the APC to acknowledge one aspect of Nigeria’s national life where they have not reversed the fortunes of the country compared to what was handed to them in 2015.

“It is for this reason that Nigerians have roundly rejected the ruling party and what the likes of Bayo Onanuga will want to achieve is to fabricate old tales, such that will take attention away from the hardship that the APC has launched on a large percentage of Nigerians.”

On Onanuga, Atiku’s aide accused the Tinubu campaign spokesperson of going over the top when he described his principal as “a man who is not prepared for the job he is applying for and a man who cannot be entrusted with our commonwealth.”

Obasanjo’s Statement On Atiku
He said Onanuga’s statement is bad public relations for the APC Presidential Candidate, adding that a good public relations doesn’t consist of attacking a critical public opinion.

Shaibu said: “If you face a PR challenge, like the Tinubu presidential campaign outfit suffers at the moment, talking down to the critical public or an opponent is like approaching a problem by methods that could make it worse.

“It is shameful and unfortunate that all that the APC can rely upon to campaign is what former President Olusegun Obasanjo had said. It is obvious that what the ruling party is hoping to achieve is to continue in their old habit of obfuscation and taking attention of the electorate away from issues that are critical to this election season.”

He added that while Atiku’s camp won’t waste much time to educate the APC and their presidential candidate to note that President Obasanjo has also made commendable remarks about Atiku which outdates the old story.

“We know that the only reason that the APC is re-presenting an old story about Atiku is because they are aware of the rejection of their party and its presidential candidate by Nigerians.

On the contrary, Atiku continues to appear with media town hall engagements and assuring Nigerias of his plans to recover the country from then ruins that the APC has made of it,” he added.
