The leadership of the Labour Party in Nigeria has said that the party's 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is coasting to victory.

Channels Television reports that a member of the party's legal team, Joe-Oke Onuakalusi, stated that Labour Party is optimistic it would win the presidential election with Peter Obi as its flag bearer.

A Labour Party chieftain has said that they are optimistic about winning the 2023 presidential election with peter Obi. Onuakalusi boast comes shortly after the Ogun state chapter party suspended the director-general of the ObiDatti Campaign Organisation, Doyin Okupe.

While the national body of the party has overruled the move by its Ogun chapter against Okupe, Onuakalusi assured that the LP's dispute is not enough to cause them a loss at the poll.

He said:

“You can understand that in Kenya, Ruto came on board just like Peter Obi is emerging and he won and is going to do excellently well,” he said on the show.
“So, we are bent on winning the 2023 election, and by the time Peter emerges come February 2023, we are putting Nigeria on the right track. We have the structure and the best hands and Peter is cruising to victory.”
Internal party crisis

Further stating the suspension of Okupe by his state chapter is an internal affair which is not peculiar to the Labour Party, Onuakalusi said only the presidential candidate of the party has the right to appoint his campaign DG.

His words:

“He (director general, in this case, Okupe) must not be a member of the party; being a member of the party is an addendum but it is the prerogative of the presidential candidate (Obi to appoint his DG),” Onuakalusi noted.
“So, it is laughable for a group of men to say, ‘We have expelled you from the party."

The senior pastor of House on the Rock Church says Nigerians in the last eight years have suffered devastating experiences and “a total disaster” under President Muhammdu Buhari.

Mr Adefarasin bemoaned the general situation of the country. He lamented the economic hardship and infrastructure deficit that has plagued the country in recent years, adding that only an exceptional personality could fix the country.

“With what we have been through as Nigerians over the last eight years, it has been devastating. It has been a total disaster. It has ruined our economy. It has dilapidated our systems, our structure, our infrastructure. It has dilapidated our economy in a way that will take exceptional personalities and exceptional cabinet to actually fix,” Mr Adefarasin said while addressing worshipers who attended The Experience global worship concert at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, in the early hours of Saturday.

Mr Adefarasin further called for the political participation of the audience, tasking them to play their part in the nation-building process.

“We have a responsibility at hand, and it is to rescue our nation from the mishaps of this fourth attempt at republicanism and democracy. Something must happen,” he added.

Several indices of socioeconomic development have plummeted under the Buhari regime in the last seven years. The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, has embarrassed himself at a public event for the umpteenth time.

Naija News reports that Tinubu and party Chieftains stormed Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital on Thursday for the APC presidential campaign rally.

The former Governor of Lagos State while delivering his campaign promises to the residents of the state, mumbled his words as he tried to pronounce the word ‘technological’.

While some of the party chieftains kept a straight face, the sign language interpreter was left confused while another lady standing behind Tinubu laughed over the statement.

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu on Thursday suffered another gaffe in Bayelsa during his campaign.

Tinubu, who has committed several blunders in the past during his speech, while making a speech, said it is time to recreate tourism and ‘technological up.’
