Politics › Reactions As Foreigner In Qatar Mocks Tinubu’s Gaffe At Recent Rally by iSense247(op): 5:27pm On Dec 01, 2022 |
Rachel Okporu FadojuA foreigner at the World Cup in Qatar has sparked reactions online after making a mockery of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu’s gaffe at a recent campaign rally.
Naija News reports that Tinubu has been suffering a series of gaffes since his party officially kicked off its campaign rally ahead of the 2023 election.
While some concerned Nigerians advised the former Governor of Lagos State to talk less during campaign rallies others still claimed the gaffes are becoming annoying.
Tinubu became a topic of discussion online over a viral video of him speaking gibberish during the stakeholders meeting at Imo State last month.
The statement was tagged meaningless as many Nigerians tried to decode and interpret Tinubu’s words.
However, a Foreigner during the World Cup made a mockery of Tinubu’s gaffe alongside a man who is probably a Nigerian.
Some Nigerians reacted to the video.

Politics › 2023: Peter Obi Rejects Award by iSense247(op): 6:49pm On Nov 29, 2022 |
The Labour Party (LP), presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has left many in shock as he politely but resolutely declined to accept an award given to him by a youth-based organisation in Enugu.
Obi, last Friday in Enugu, turned down the award at a one day conference on the theme: “Shaping the Future”, organised by a youth-based organisation, Boys Champions, held at the Base Events Centre, Enugu.
The LP flagbearer said, while declining the award, that he was an applicant seeking to lead Nigeria to a new dawn and for this reason would not accept any award or accolade until after the end of his tenure as the president of Nigeria, come 2027.
“When I finish as a president, I’ll come for the award. I am not going away, I am going to work with you. I am going to reject the award. I’ll only accept when I have finished,” he maintains.
The former Anambra state governor, said that Nigeria should be able to feed her citizens because she is endowed with enough arable land that can grow different types of crops for consumption and for export.
Talking about food sufficiency, Obi said that Niger State had vast land more than Netherlands yet the country feeds her citizens and even export food and wondered why Nigerians should suffer hunger.
According to him, voted into power, states will no longer be waiting for allocations from the Federation Accounts but should be bouyant and cater for their needs,” he opined saying that next year’s election would determine whether Nigeria would be or not.
“Next year is existential election. The election will determine whether there will be a Nigerian or not. We need a good driver to drive Nigeria.
“Next year’s election, do not vote based on tribe or religion. Vote for competence. It is not about tribe or religion, let’s rebuild Nigeria,” he pleads.
Founder/Director of Boys Champions, Noel Ifeanyi Alumona, who said that his organisation’s vision is to encourage the youths to maximize their potentials, urged them to be alive to their responsibilities as Nigeria citizens.
Alumona urged them not only to vote in the forthcoming general elections but to vote competent and capable leaders that can turn the country around in the right direction.
He described the youths as the leaders of tomorrow and challenged them to engage our leaders constructively to deliver on their mandate.
“You are the leaders of tomorrow. The future is in your hands. You are the change agents that Nigeria needs,” he said. https://www.blueprint.ng/2023-peter-obi-rejects-award/

Politics › Buhari’s In-law, Sha’aban Dumps APC, Slams Gov El-rufai by iSense247(op): 3:43pm On Nov 29, 2022 |
Sani Mahmoud Sha’aban, an All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial aspirant in Kaduna State in the 2023 election has finally dumped the ruling party.
Sani, who is President Muhammadu Buhari’s in-law lost the governorship primary of the APC to Senator Uba Sani. He also lost a legal battle to seize the ticket at the Federal High Court.
In his resignation letter addressed to the APC Chairman in Hanwa Ward, Sabon Gari Local Government, the governorship aspirant accused Governor Nasir El-Rufai-led government of failure to bring dividends of democracy to the citizens in every part of the State.
Bar. Joshua Danladi Ephraim, the Director-General of his Campaign Organization, in the letter dated 28th November, 2022, lamented that the recent activities and events within the APC in Kaduna State, in particular, compelled him to reconsider his membership of the APC.
According to Sha’aban, “Despite all our best efforts, admonitions and best intentions, it is disheartening to note that the APC has become more alienated from the masses, and rather than foster peace, social cohesion and integration in Kaduna State as we envisaged and worked for, the APC in Kaduna State is now seen as synonymous with hardship, division and with total disregard for human lives, communal and family values.”
Furthermore, he noted that rather than work to bring the dividends of democracy closer to the masses, “some few elements in the APC in Kaduna State have hijacked the party structure and turned it into their personal estate to serve their personal greed and avarice, for the benefit of only their families, friends and cronies”, saying that they have no regards whatsoever for the feelings, yearnings and sensibilities of even the many members of the party who supported them, and the general populace of Kaduna State.
As one who strongly believes in God, and in the belief that the commonwealth of the land is for the common benefit of all, the governorship aspirant explained that he has found himself unable in good conscience, to sit back and allow he called “this reign of impunity” to go on without a voice of dissent.
He said that at various times, he has had cause to express his displeasure with the policies and actions of the APC in Kaduna State to the State leadership, stressing that his stance on good governance, rule of law, social justice and equity “has caused us to be treated with disdain, and to be seen as a Pariah to those who are personally benefiting from the skewed realities presently in the APC.” https://dailypost.ng/2022/11/29/buharis-in-law-shaaban-dumps-apc-slams-gov-el-rufai/?amp=1 |

The Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, has sparked speculations on social media after he said Nigeria must move from consumption to production.
The former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi Naija News understands that had in his recurrent campaign slogan claimed that a drastic reduction in importation of goods for consumption and increase in production of essential goods will help keep jobs in the country instead of exporting them.
While speaking in national innovation workshop organized by the Senate Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation in Anambra State, Osinbajo said, “Nigeria will be great only when we begin to shift our emphasis from a consuming nation. We must rely on production and that is the only way to go.”

Politics › Gaffes: Replace Tinubu To Avoid Further Embarrassment, Atiku’s Camp Tells APC by iSense247(op): 7:30pm On Nov 27, 2022 |
• Says ruling party flag bearer fit for republic's grand comedian •Sanwo-Olu's remark confirms Nigeria's poverty level under APCThe camp of the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has advised the All Progressives Congress (APC) to replace its standardbearer, Bola Tinubu, to avoid further embarrassment to the ruling party.
The call came against several gaffes that Tinubu has made in the course of his Presidential campaign outings including in his home base, Lagos on Saturday, where he apparently forgot the name “Permanent Voters Card,” (PVC).
Addressing his teeming supporters while surrounded by party chieftains, the former Lagos State governor had said: “Do you love me? Do you love me? Go and take your APV, APC and you must vote.”
A statement issued Sunday by Phrank Shaibu, the Special Assistant on Public Communications to the PDP Presidential Candidate, noted that Tinubu should be replaced “so as to avoid further embarrassing scenarios occasioned by his continued miscues and gaffes.”
The Atiku’s camp also pointed out that Tinubu should only be contesting to be the “Grand Comedian of the Federal Republic and not Grand Commander of the Federal Republic going by his utterances.”
According to the statement, “it is public knowledge that every time Tinubu has come out in public to make a statement or two, he has always goofed. If he is not saying that voter’s card has an expiration date; he is saying that young Nigerians are Tweeting on WhatsApp or that 50 million youths should be recruited into the Nigerian Army and be fed with Cassava in the morning, and Agbado in the night. How can you say Nigerians are Tweeting on WhatsApp? Common, is that the kind of person we want to hand 21st Century Nigeria over to?
“In his latest gaffe at the Lagos rally, he asked Nigerians to get their APV in order to vote for APC when even primary school children know that the PVC is the only item that admits a voter into a polling unit.
“Without mincing words, Tinubu’s gaffes already supply comedians, skit makers, meme-makers, and TikTokers with content. He is a self-writing joke and will make Nigeria a bye-word for scorn among the comity of nations, which is why he shouldn’t get close to power.
“Truth be told, lack of mental depth complicated by dementia occasioned by old age is the most mis-recommended criterion against a Tinubu presidency. And examples abound to buttress this point.
“Just listen to any of his extempore speeches and what you find is a lack of coherence, logic and verve. It is for the purpose of unmasking the real Tinubu and exposing him for who he really is, that we have challenged the APC standard bearer to an hour-long television interview.”
The statement further observed that the APC’s seven-and-a-half-year reign is “a sad reminder of Nigeria’s arrested development since 2015 when they came to power.”
It also noted: “The most compelling reason for the APC to be de-registered is the fact that it has driven millions of Nigerians deeper into poverty since 2015, when it has been ruling the country, and spent trillions of naira procuring hunger, darkness and insecurity.
“If the APC are not keen on replacing this disaster of a candidate, they should in the alternative apologize to all Nigerians for bringing them nothing but the suffering of unquantifiable proportion since 2015, and proceed to make a solemn pledge not to have anything to do with governance, especially with the February 25, the election is fast approaching.”
The statement maintained that the remarks credited to Tinubu on Saturday, November 26th, 2023 “where he laboured, albeit unsuccessfully, to paint the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Candidate as ungrateful and over-ambitious as not only offensive but reckless.”
The statement added: “Instead of attacking Atiku, he should have dissipated that energy on telling Nigerians about himself, especially at this time when it is said at various fora that the only thing that is real about Tinubu is his person and that every other ascription on him is a borrowed robe. To be sure, Nigerians believe that Tinubu should come in the open to effectively disclaim the allegation that his name as it appears on public documents is not his name; that the parents he claimed were not his; that the certificates he claimed to be his are not and that the schools he claimed to have attended didn’t know him.
“The issue of which schools he attended is already in the public domain as only few months ago, he told the Independent National electoral commission (INEC) that he didn’t attend primary and secondary schools. The former Lagos governor, however, claimed he had two degrees from two American universities, which he further stated had been stolen by unknown soldiers during the military junta of the 1990s!!
“The disclosures came in an affidavit submitted by Tinubu to the electoral office as part of his eligibility filings for the 2023 presidential elections.
“The documents released on Friday, 24th June, 2022, showed that the APC Presidential flagbearer left the columns for his primary and secondary education unmarked. But he said he obtained a degree in business and administration in 1979, apparently referring to his previous claims of attending the Chicago State University.
The statement recalled what Tinubu said, quoting him, ‘I went on self-exile from October 1994 to October 1998. When I returned, I discovered that all my property, including all the documents relating to my qualifications and my certificates in respect of paragraph three above, were looted by unknown persons.’
The Atiku’s camp declared: “Tinubu’s latest claims appear to contradict his previous election submissions, especially in 1999 and 2003 when he ran for office as a governorship candidate in Lagos. He claimed both times that he attended primary and secondary schools.
“He said he attended St Paul Children’s Home School, Ibadan, between 1958 to 1964; while his secondary education was at Government College, Ibadan, between 1965 to 1968. From Ibadan, Tinubu said he proceed to Richard Daley College, Chicago, from 1969 to 1971. He stated finally to have attended both Chicago State University and the University of Chicago.
“Although the Chicago State University confirmed Tinubu as its student, graduating with a degree in business and administration on June 22, 1979, all the submissions were challenged as fraudulent by a prominent Nigerian lawyer, Gani Fawehinmi.
“Fawehinmi, who died in 2009, argued the matter up to the Supreme Court, which dismissed the case on technical grounds rather than on its merits. Now, I don’t know baggage huger than this for a country like Nigeria that is struggling to sell itself to the world to now have its president weighed down by this dubious pedigree.
“Ask Bode George about the source of Tinubu’s stupendous wealth and what you will hear is a story of how the Jagaban of Borgu has placed the entire machinery of Lagos State under his firm, personal control and is milking the state dry. George has told whoever cared to listen that within the span of his Lagos governorship of eight years, from someone who those who knew him said was passably well-to-do, Tinubu grew a monstrous wealth, such that Within this period, he also acquired a humongous political influence in Lagos and outside of it.
“Bode George’s position is difficult to ignore. It is an open secret that Tinubu has substantial interests in virtually every sector of Nigeria’s economy, ranging from oil, aviation, banking and finance, real estate, and the media; all courtesy of the money he ‘made’ from being Governor of Lagos State for only two terms of eight years. Of course, there are no easy traces of these investments as they are funded in the names of shells and proxies. But no one needs to be told that it is all wealth without work − it is Lagos State’s money. So, what morality will Nigeria be preaching by having a president of such questionable makeup?
“Tinubu may be a successful politician whose lifetime ambition is to be President of Nigeria, but it takes more than being a politician to become Nigeria’s president. Among others things it takes credibility. The fact that everything about Tinubu is shrouded in secrecy should tell us that the APC Presidential Candidate lacks the credibility to govern a country like Nigeria.
“But more importantly, with the disaster that the APC administration has turned out to be, it will be more catastrophic to have a Tinubu as his successor. Governing Nigeria is not all about identifying surrogates who will man critical political offices for future political gains. Nigeria needs a debonair, cerebral, healthy, and suave president — a man in the mould of Atiku Abubakar.”
The statement also said that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s claim at the Lagos rally that Tinubu will lift Nigerians out of hardship and hunger was an indictment on the APC, an admission that indeed over 133 million Nigerians now live in abject poverty as reported by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
“Now they are selling a message of renewed hope. It is common knowledge that darkness cannot cure darkness and sickness cannot cure sickness. How can the APC be promising to fix problems exacerbated by the APC? This is balderdash,” the statement declared. https://tribuneonlineng.com/gaffes-replace-tinubu-to-avoid-further-embarrassment-atikus-camp-tells-apc/

INAUGURATION ADDRESS DELIVERED BY THE GOVERNOR OF OSUN STATE, HIS EXCELLENCY, SENATOR ADEMOLA JACKSON NURUDEEN ADELEKE ON SUNDAY NOVEMBER 27TH, 2022
Protocol,
1. Today, I stand on the podium of history with a sacred pledge to God and the good people of Osun State that my intellect, passion and strength will be devoted to nothing but the welfare, peace and security of our people.
2. As I accept the mantle of leadership entrusted upon me by the people of our dear State, I am conscious of the enormous challenges and responsibilities ahead of me and will beginning from this hour work day and night with deep sense of purpose to be a servant to you all.
3. Our gathering here to witness the materialisation of a new era is not an accident of history. We are all programmed by the Almighty God to be what we have been, what we are and what we will be in future.
4. Let me use this occasion to salute the founding fathers of our dear state, all the past administrators and Governors of Osun state as well as everyone who has contributed one way or the other to the growth, stability and progress of our state in the last 31 years.
5. I equally salute our fallen heroes both at the national and state level for the great sacrifice they have made to have a country and a state to call our own.
6. I am well aware of the fact that my responsibility as the Governor and Chief Security Officer of Osun State entails meeting the legitimate expectations of our people. Therefore, I promise that those expectations of the workers, traders, artisans, farmers, business owners, students, pensioners, traditional and religious leaders and indeed all residents of Osun State will be met by the grace of God and the cooperation of everyone.
7. Under my watch as the Governor of Osun State, I will boldly correct all past injustice, corrupt acts or policies by any previous administration which are against the collective interest of our people.
8. Let me state here that from the education, health, mining Sector, agriculture, road infrastructure and supply of portable water, let it be known to all that it is no longer going to be business as usual. And I repeat, it is no longer business as usual.
9. Our administration will demonstrate a high sense of urgency, transparency, justice and innovation to tackle and solve the problems of poverty, illiteracy, disease, and poor infrastructure.
10. Your Governor will be a people’s Governor. I will be accessible, responsive, consultative and proactive in handling small and big matters of State Governance.
11. I know that as a product of the collective will of you my people, there is a heavy weight of history on my shoulders and I accept the urgency of your expectations, the depth of your aspirations and your conviction in me to build a better State.
DEVELOPMENT AGENDA FOR OSUN STATE
12. Ladies and Gentlemen, you will recall that our party, the Peoples Democratic Party campaigned on a five point agenda namely: a. Welfare of workers and pensioners; b. Boosting the state’s economy c. Home-grown infrastructure policy; d. People-focused policy on education, affordable Health Care, Security and Social Welfare; e. Agro-Based Industrialization for Wealth and Job Creation.
13. While a detailed programme of action will soon be unveiled on each of these 5-point agenda, let me quickly give you some insights into our policy direction.
EDUCATION
14. It is disheartening to see our State at the bottom of the national educational ratings especially in public primary and Secondary schools examinations. My administration will launch reform with direct focus on improvement of learning environment and outcome. Our target is to reverse the poor performance of students in public examinations within the next few years.
15. To achieve this target, we will prioritise in-service training and welfare of teachers, enhancement of school environment, entrenchment of discipline in the school system as well as involvement of the Parents-Teachers Association in our school administration system.
16. Our administration will soon convene an emergency Education Conference to articulate our blueprint on the restoration of the state’s education glory.
AGRO-INDUSTRIAL
17. We regard as critical the need to boost wealth creation, job opportunities and food security through innovative agricultural reforms covering all the agricultural value chains.
18. Aside the introduction of modern agricultural practices, we will shift attention to agriculture for export to take advantage of global markets.
19. While we target agriculture export earnings, we will establish modern farmers' markets where producers and off takers can transact businesses.
TOURISM
20. In our desire to diversify Osun economy, my administration will target the tourism sector to boost our GDP and create new jobs.
21. Osun State is the historical capital of the Yoruba people and it is my intention to develop a strong business model to transform this rich historical heritage into huge tourism. We will encourage and partner with the traditional institutions, business organisations and foreign partners to develop the culture and tourism industry which includes our beautiful waterfalls, the Osun Osogbo World Heritage site and many cultural festivals across the state.
WOMEN AND YOUTH DEVELOPMENT
22. Women and youths are important segments in our development programme. I had earlier set up a youth advisory council which has produced an impressive blueprint for youth development in Osun State. I plan to ensure speedy implementation of their recommendations. More importantly, let me assure our women that our administration will be gender – sensitive in all appointments.
HEALTH
23. The health sector in Osun State is in need of urgent attention. Our government will give premium attention to improvement of the Primary Health care services. We will improve the working conditions of health workers and expand the coverage of our health insurance scheme. We plan to establish a standard diagnostic centre using the Public Private Partnership model and adopt measures that will retain medical practitioners in Osun state.
CLIMATE CHANGE AND ICT
24. Our administration will collaborate with Development partners to address problems of environmental pollution and Climate Change. We will equally promote digital literacy, tech innovations and create opportunities for our teeming youths in the ICT sector. LOCAL GOVERNMENT REFORMS
25. In line with our campaign manifesto, our government will ensure local government autonomy in line with the provisions of the Nigeria constitution.
26. We will restore the lost glory of our local governments in order to make them more responsive to the needs of the people at the grassroots.
27. All policies that are not favourable to the growth of effective local government administration will be reviewed in accordance with the law.
28. No form of illegality will be allowed to stand and all acts of impunity committed by the immediate past administration on local government administration will be reversed following due process.
THE PUBLIC SERVICE
29. My administration will restore the integrity of the civil service which has been bastardised through favouritism and political considerations.
30. We will give the civil service a better orientation with a view to restoring its professionalism. In doing this, we will be fair and firm as we act only in pursuance of public interest.
31. Let me therefore announce an immediate return to status quo of all fresh appointments, placements and other major decisions taken by the immediate past administration with effect from the 17th of July, 2022.
32. I wish to assure all labour unions in the state of our administration’s willingness to protect workers interest and promote their welfare at all times. We will be a labour friendly government.
SECURITY
33. We will embark on a security sector reform that will target crime prevention, detection, neighbourhood policing and better synergy among security agencies. The Amotekun Corps will be strengthened while our administration will ensure operational linkage between local hunters and the Amotekun Corps. A "Know Your Neighbour" security initiative will be implemented. By the grace of God, very soon, Osun will return to its old nature of being a haven of peace.
EXECUTIVE ORDERS
34. My Good People of Osun, since you elected me as your Governor on the 16th of July 2022, which the INEC announced on July 17th 2022, the former Governor, Alh Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola maliciously started putting road blocks to make things difficult and almost impossible for the new administration to serve you.
35. Mass employment were carried out without budgetary provisions for salary payments for the new employees; even when the state was struggling to pay salaries and deliver other services. Various hurried and criminally backdated Contracts were awarded and again without budgetary provisions.
36. Appointments of several Obas were hurriedly done without following due process, just to mention a few.
37. All efforts to get the Governor set up a Transition Committee and submit hand-over notes in line with best practices proved abortive.
38. It is therefore my desire to ask for your patience and understanding to give my administration a few weeks to review and sort out all the actions and malicious confusions which the immediate past administration has created since July 17th 2022. Those actions were indeed vindictive measures against the people of Osun State for voting them out of office.
39. Consequently, I hereby issue the following directives which will be backed up with appropriate Executive orders:
a. Immediate freezing of all government accounts in banks and other financial institutions
b. Immediate establishment of a panel to carry out an inventory and recover all government assets
c. An immediate establishment of a panel to review all appointments and major decisions of the immediate past administration taken after the 17th July, 2022
d. An immediate reversal to the constitutionally recognised name of our state, Osun State. All government insignia, correspondences and signages should henceforth reflect Osun state rather than State of Osun which is unknown to the Nigerian constitution.
APRRECIATION
40. As I conclude this address, let me express my appreciation to the President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR for allowing a conducive atmosphere for a peaceful, free and fair election in Osun state.
41. I thank the national leadership of our party, the Peoples Democratic Party under the able leadership of our Chairman, His Excellency Sen. Iyorchia Ayu and his National Working Committee for their immeasurable support.

Ifeanyi Okowa, CON, all PDP state Governors, the Minority caucuses of the Senate, House of Representatives and Osun State House of Assembly and other party stakeholders who stood by Osun state to reclaim our mandate which was stolen four years ago.

Sunday Bisi and all party leaders in the 30 local government areas and Ife East area office. Davido for their love, support and sacrifice towards ensuring that we got this far. May your sacrifices never be in vain. I assure you that the selfless services of our late father Sen. Raji Ayoola Adeleke, our mother Prophetess Esther Adeleke and our late scion of the Adeleke family, the first Governor of Osun state, His Excellency Alhaji Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke will always guide my actions as I serve the good people of Osun state.
45. I must not end this address without appreciating the Nigerian judiciary and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for their uprightness, neutrality, professionalism and courage in protecting our democracy without fear or favour.
46. I commend our security agencies for providing a peaceful and conducive atmosphere before, during and after the electoral process.
47. Finally, I extend my thanks to party men and women, friends, associates, supporters across party lines, the Media and the courageous Osun voters who have stood resolutely to give and defend this mandate. I am most sincerely grateful.
CONCLUSION
48. Ladies and Gentlemen, I have a grand vision of a new Osun state. But I cannot do it alone. I therefore seek the support and cooperation of everyone to make this happen.
49. I hereby extend a strong hand of fellowship to the other arms of governments, the Legislature and the Judiciary. As a former lawmaker and a graduate of Criminal Justice, I appreciate the importance of collaboration among the Executive, the Legislature and the Judiciary.
50. I call on all political parties to unite in the best interest of the state. Election is over. Now is the time for governance. We are open to fresh ideas in line with our manifesto.
51. For the purpose of emphasis, I will be a Governor for all Osun people regardless of differences in language, faith, political affiliation or any other considerations.
52. Welcome to a new Osun State, The State of The Living Spring.
53. Thank you and God bless you all |

Breaking Down the concept of Consumption to Production. This is our envisaged path from consumption to production for Nigeria.
We have a three-tracked plan aimed at achieving Goal 12 of the SDG, namely ensuring sustainable consumption and production patterns.
First, our focus will be on agriculture and production-centered growth for food security and export, with more emphasis on exporting finished products instead of commodities and raw materials. This relates mainly food and textiles. Nigeria has over 84 million hectares of arable land. And barely 40% of our arable land is cultivated today. Nigeria’s arable land is her new oil and gold.
Second, pursuant to Goal 9 of the SDGs our administration will from its inception, continue to encourage investment in infrastructure - energy, transport, irrigation, and telecoms—to grow these and other sectors.
We are eager to quickly close the infrastructure gap between now and 2030. We will expand the frontiers of financial inclusion to ensure that SMEs have greater access to credit to grow.
We will work with financial institutions to improve their ability to identify credit worthy borrowers; and support inventory financing, which will help to unlock finance for SMEs dealing with high account receivables.
We will enforce the legal framework protecting foreign investors and their indigenous partners. This is the only way to tamper monopoly and capital flight.
Third, as a nation, Nigeria must look beyond oil. We therefore, intend to leapfrog Nigeria from oil to the Fourth Industrial Revolution by expanding physical infrastructure through market-driven reforms that will unleash growth-enabling entrepreneurship and market-creating innovations. To ensure sustainability and resilience, we will stop borrowing for consumption. All loans must be invested in regenerative projects. We shall pursue a drastic reduction in cost of governance and corruption; improve ease of doing business to attract Foreign Direct Investment to jumpstart industrialization and when borrowing is unavoidable, it will be strictly for production.
It is also imperative that henceforth, we should strive to operate within available resources and strive for a balanced national budget as cost saving measures.
Whatever oil we still have will be refined domestically. These measures along with ending the leakages including the subsidy regime and improving our tax regime should do the magic of moving Nigeria from consumption to production.

Validated: MURIC is an ILLEGAL organisation. Prof Akintola should be arrested for operating an illegal organisation or rather a terrorist group. He is not different from Nnandi Kabo or Igboho.
DSS need to investigate MURIC for his involvement in sponsoring state terrorism and scamming muslims. All those who have been contributing money to Akintola now knows he operates an illegal organisation.
Since MURIC is not a registered organization, obviously it has no bank account. So all the moneys this thief has been collecting is to feed fat and spew rubbish. The was a report sometimes ago that the con artist was receiving fund from terrorists organizations but Government decided to keep mute about it since he is on the same side with them. Even FFK wanted to loud it then. |

He also stated his investigation revealed that MURIC is non-existent on the portal of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). An illegal Islamic group winning frivolous cases up till supreme court. Only in Islamic Terrorists Republic of Zoogeria. We cannot continue like this. |
Politics › RCCG: 'MURIC Is A Nonentity At Law’ – Human Rights Lawyer Fires Muslim Group by iSense247(op): 3:05pm On Nov 27, 2022 |
Human rights lawyer, Malcolm Omirhobo, on Saturday said the advice by Islamic human rights organization, Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), to Nigerian Muslim students and their parents to avoid Christian-owned private universities, is “ill-advised”.
Newsbreak.ng had reported that MURIC gave this counsel “pending the time the National Universities Commission (NUC) would ‘sanitise’ Christian private universities”.
The religious group accused Christian proprietors of private universities of hate against Muslims. This, it said, is manifested in the alleged forceful conversion of Muslim students, ‘compelling’ Muslim students to attend church service and disallowing female Muslim students from using hijab (such as the alleged cases at the Redemption Camp of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG).
But reacting to that development in a statement this weekend, Omirhobo who has been involved in a face-off with MURIC since his appearance at courts wearing traditional attire, severely criticised the Islamic group.
He also stated his investigation revealed that MURIC is non-existent on the portal of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
“I don’t see any reason why there should be the provision of a place for worship for Muslim students in Christian-owned universities because it is more than certain that Christians in Muslim universities will not be afforded a chapel in such institutions,” Omirhobo said. “I don’t see how religion has now become part of the curriculum of the universities. Nigerian Muslim parents who have sent their children to school outside the shores of Nigeria or have themselves attended schools abroad will agree with me that our illiterate confusionist Professor is talking rubbish and therefore should not be taken seriously or listened to because he is a religious bigot with a penchant for preaching hatred and disunity amongst Nigerians.
“It is not by force for Muslims to send their children to Christian-owned universities and vice-versa. I really don’t know why this illiterate professor is fond of fomenting religious crises throughout the country all the time if not only for his selfish interest to rake in funds for himself and his phony organisation under the guise of protecting the interest of Muslims and Islam.
“I don’t see any reason why a Muslim will attend a Christian university and want to insist on wearing Hijab or ask for a praying ground when such courtesy cannot and will not be extended to Christians attending Muslim institutions
“Nigerians must stop listening to Prof Ishaq Akinola and his phony MURIC because MURIC is nonentity at law.
“My search at the Corporate Affairs Commission reveals that it is not a registered legal entity in Nigeria and so lacks the capacity to advise Nigerians.
“It is most unfortunate and regrettable that over the years this con artist and his phony organisation have been fooling and taking Nigerians for a ride. While Nigerians are busy fighting themselves over religion Prof is cashing out and smiling to the bank.
“The Supreme Court of Nigeria was not spared as MURIC got a judgement in her favour from the Supreme Court on the use of Hijab in public schools. Just imagine the level of deceit and dishonesty of this devious man.
“What we have at the Corporate Affairs Commission is Murica (Muslim Rights Concern Association) and not MURIC (Muslim Rights Concern). Nigerians please take note so that you are not misled or defrauded.” https://newsbreak.ng/muric-is-a-nonentity-at-law-juju-lawyer-fires-muslim-grp-over-rccg-row/amp/
