A former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, on Friday, called on the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, to tell Nigerians if he is the owner of the 21-storey building that collapsed at Ikoyi, Lagos State or not. One of the three high rise buildings under construction at Ikoyi, had caved in on Monday killing the developer and Chief Executive of Fourscore Heights Limited, Femi Osibona and 32 others. Many workers were left with varied degrees of injuries while some are said to be missing. Frank, who is the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP), Ambassador to East Africa and Middle East, in a statement in Abuja, commiserated with the families that lost loved ones and sympathised with those who were injured as a result of the building collapse. He said his call on Osinbajo to tell Nigerians the truth about his ownership of the building has become necessary to lay to rest speculations allegedly linking him to the buildings. He said: “Yesterday I read a statement signed by one Richard Akinnola “for and on behalf of friends and associates of Prof. Yemi Osinbajo” which sought to dispel rumours about the Vice President’s interests in the buildings and I began to wonder why this should come from friends, when Osinbajo is not known to to lack the courage and eloquence to make his points.” According to Akinnola, “The social media has suddenly become awash with information trying to link the VP directly or indirectly to the collapsed structure,” adding that “some mischief makers are trying to score cheap political goals and use this very sad situation to tarnish the name and image of our hardworking and humble Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN.” Frank said: “We believe that the VP is not encumbered in any manner to issue a rebuttal or deny the viral allegations, if necessary, to warrant ‘friends’ to come to his rescue. “We believe Osinbajo has a capable media aide who has been speaking on his behalf on several issues. “Is Akinnola and his ‘league of friends’ meddlesome interlopers in this matter or is there any thing that the VP is hiding by refusing to speak directly to allegations that he is the owner of the structure? “Nigerians need to know the truth and this truth can only come from the VP and not third parties whose locus standi in this matter is questionable at best. “We don’t believe the VP has any connection with the building but Nigerians who may have been misled by the rumour mill need to hear from the VP to correct the seeming misinformation. “Until that is done, several questions already being asked by Nigerians will escalate. For instance, Nigerians are asking: Is the VP actually the owner of the collapsed Ikoyi building? If he is the owner does his fees, salaries and emoluments in and out of office enough to raise such structures? If he is not the owner as being speculated, why is he (VP) not speaking up? “Is it a coincidence that both Osinbajo and Osibona are from Ikenne in Ogun State? Is it also coincidence that Osibona’s brother worked with the VP from 2015 to 2019? Was Osibona a front for Osinbajo or the real owner of the land and buildings? If the building is not for him, who is the top government official that allegedly owns the land and structures?” He called on the Lagos State Government to tell Nigerians how a 15-storey structure duly approved by it got to 21 floors. He called on Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, as the chief custodian of the Lagos State Land Registry, to tell Nigerians the real owner of the land and buildings and those ‘powers from above’ that prevented the statutory government agencies like the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) from calling the developer to order when he exceeded the approved limit for the structure. He also called on Sanwo-Olu to not to swept the report of the panel of inquiry already set up to unravel the horrendous incident like was done in similar circumstances in the past.

He further alleged that Mr Tokunbo Ogbagba has also bribed some ICPC officials with over N100million, to stay off from investigating him. Jackson Ude further called on the EFCC to immediately swoop into the allegations and investigate Mr Tokunbo. Furthermore, Jackson Ude provided some bank account details that are believed to be linked to the allegations. Former Vice President Namadi Sambo invite APC leaders to support Usman El-kudan to become the next National Youth Leader, welcome Atiku to his new home. It was a moment of great & deep questioning amongst Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) faithfuls today in Nigeria as Namadi Sambo, was seen holding meetings with APC stalwarts in his new Abuja home. Unknown to the 2019 presidential candidate of the PDP, Sambo had invited some of his APC allies to help welcome him to his new home. On the arrival of Atiku Abubakar, he met Namadi Sambo holding meeting with some APC stalwarts, among them are the former director general of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Sani Sidi, who defected to the All Progressive Congress (APC), shortly after losing the 2019 gubernatorial ticket of the PDP and Rabiu Bako, former commissioner of information in Kaduna state, in their midst was El-Kudan, one of the aspirants for the position of the PDP National Youth Leader. Once again, this goes to show that Sambo is always hobnobbing with APC members, which gives credence to the accusation of anti-party activities most times levelled against him. Shortly after Atiku's arrival, the former Vice President hoodwinked him into snapping picture with his allies, with the intention of misleading the public into believing that his aspirant has the support of the 2019 presidential candidate of the PDP. Sambo is known to always shy away from participating in any party activities or contributing to the growth of the PDP, since the defeat he suffered in the hands of the APC as a former Vice President. Despite that, he suddenly want to bounce back to reckoning in the party by making frantic effort to produce a National Working Committee (NWC) member in the PDP, with the help of known APC stalwarts. The question that many PDP members keep asking on the interrogation of our correspondent is that, what does Sambo want to achieve by regularly dining with the APC at the state and national level, at same time struggling to have his loyalists in key positions in the PDP? This does not portrayed the image of a true party man and most PDP members are beginning to doubt the true intention of the former Vice President and his anointed aspirant.

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, on Saturday, condemned the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami and his allegations of terrorist activities against Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Adeyemo (Igboho). According to Frank in a statement in Abuja, Malami’s assertions were not only spurious, but highly selective and high-wired propaganda aimed at securing selfish political gains. He wondered why Malami as the chief law officer of the Federation choose to organise a contemptuous press conference to discuss matters that were already being heard by courts of competent jurisdiction in Nigeria and Benin Republic. He said that Malami was only out to whitewash the Federal Government’s illegal, ethnically-biased and nepotistic clampdown on and trial of the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Kanu, and the Yoruba Nation Separatist Agitator, Igboho. He noted that such impunity against citizens by the present administration is the very reason why several zones of the country are clamouring to exit the Nigerian union. Frank, who is the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP), Ambassador to East Africa and Middle East, said while the Federal Government is up in arms against Kanu and Igboho over alleged terrorist activities, it has failed and equally neglected to arrest and prosecute Boko Haram terrorists, bandits and their sponsors operating in the North. He lamented that over a month after the Government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) handed over the names of six Nigerian financiers of terrorism to the Federal Government, they have refused to investigate, arrest and prosecute them because of their religious affiliations and the section of the country they come from. For the avoidance of doubt, according to him, those named by the UAE as alleged financiers of terrorism from Nigeria are: Abdurrahaman Ado Musa, Salihu Yusuf Adamu, Bashir Ali Yusuf, Muhammed Ibrahim Isa, Ibrahim Ali Alhassan and Surajo Abubakar Muhammad. He insisted that neither Malami nor any Nigerian security agency has briefed the press or reported any form of investigation, arrest or prosecution of those on the above list by the Federal Government. Frank said: “Is it not laughable that Malami has blamed Igboho for financing terrorism in the North and Kanu for the hijack of the #EndSARS protests and attendant mayhem unleashed in Lagos last year?” He described the recent arraignment of Nnamdi Kanu at the Federal High Court, Abuja, when lawyers, media and prominent Nigerians were denied access to the court which consequently intimidated the Judge and where the operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) assumed the role of complainant, prosecutor and judge in their own case as a charade and show of shame on the part of the Federal Government. According to him, “Malami told reporters at the press conference that Nnamdi Kanu is being prosecuted for his statements that led to killings and destruction of property both in the South East and in Lagos but when Buhari incited killings and destruction of property in the North through his “dog and baboon will be soaked in blood...” statement in 2012, in reference to the 2015 general elections, who prosecuted him?” He challenged Buhari and Malami to name members of the National Assembly they have accused of sponsoring Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Igboho to prove the veracity of their claims just like the Government of the UAE has made public the names of those financing terrorism in their country, Nigeria and others. He called on Malami in particular and the Major General Muhammdu Buhari-led administration in general, to stop spreading hatred, causing division and attempting to instigate and provoke mutual distrust and animosity between the South West and the South East through lies and disinformation. He called on the international community to take cognizance of the lip service being paid to the fight against terrorism in Nigeria by the Federation Government and the witch-hunt it has continued to unleash on members of the opposition political parties and individuals with dissenting opinion from the Southern part of the country like Kanu and Igboho. He called on Nigerians to dismiss Malami’s half-truths against Kanu and Igboho and to continue to demand for fairness, justice and equity as bonafide citizens. He also called Nigerian leaders in the South to speak out and condemn Malami’s statement as they are capable of inciting violence in the country. Above all, he called on the international community to disregard the pre-arranged outcome from the trial of Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Igboho due to the obviously unfair and hushed trial being conducted against them by the Federal Government.

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, on Thursday, called on the Police Service Commission (PSC) to urgently dismiss and prosecute the Commissioner of Police, Lagos Police Command, Hakeem Odumosu, for illegally ordering the teargas and arrest of youths who protested peacefully to mark the first anniversary of #EndSARS. Frank who is the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) Ambassador to East Africa and Middle East, in a statement in Abuja, lauded Nigerian youths, celebrities, artistes and activists who in spite of the draconian orders of the police marked the #EndSARS first anniversary with protests across several states in Nigeria and the FCT, with the slogan: “We will Not Forget 2010 20 Lekki Massacre.” He condemned the use of brutal force, pepper spray and teargas against protesters by security personnel at the Lekki Tollgate following the illegal, wicked and anti-people order by the Lagos CP. He also condemned the harassment, intimidation, manhandling, battering and arrest of journalists including Legit.ng Online reporter, Abisola Alawode, PM News correspondent, Taiwo Okanlawon and the Arise TV crew of Adefemi Akinsanya and Ope Adenihun while carrying out their legitimate assignment during the protest. He called for the immediate release of all #EndSARS detainees held over a year ago and those who were arrested during the memorial procession in Lagos on Wednesday. He said the police have failed to learn lesson from the #EndSARS which was triggered by their atrocities against law abiding and innocent citizens but have continued to treat Nigerians like slaves. He insisted that the police are only up and doing when it comes to arresting, teargassing, and pepper spraying peaceful protesters but become hesitant when it comes to challenging and arresting bandits, kidnappers and other criminal elements making life unbearable for Nigerians across the country. He also condemned the silence of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), in the face of brutal police aggression against innocent Nigerians exercising their democratic rights to protest against ills in society. He reminded Buhari that police were never used to stop him and members of his party from protesting during his days as an opposition leader. He lamented that despite the nation’s democratic dispensation, the Buhari administration has become increasingly dictatorial and intolerant of lawful dissent which is a major ingredient of participatory democracy. He called on members of the international community to sanction the Inspector General of Police for superintending a police force that has become notorious for gross human rights abuses, extra-judicial killings and corruption in the country. He urged the police to perform their duties in line with the laws of the land and equally borrow a leaf from the diligence, courage, comportment and civility of their counterparts in other countries. He further called on the National Assembly to investigate the cases of assaults against peaceful protesters and the media in Lagos by men of the Nigeria Police and other security agencies and bring all erring operatives to book. https://ngg.ng/endsars-memorial-timi-frank-urges-psc-to-sack-lagos-cp-odumosu-over-arrest-teargas-of-protesters/

"'It is one year already, there is still much to be desired by the youths of Nigeria concerning what efforts the Government is sincerely making towards police reform in Nigeria. "'Recently, in my own constituency, Okene/Ogori-Magongo, a police officer was caught on camera brutalizing a youth who was on a road trip. What does that tell us as a people? That our highways and roads are no longer safe for our youths, because of the same police officers hired on taxpayers money, that of the youths inclusive, to protect the same youths from harm? It is obvious the Government has done only little since it made promise to reform the police already at the peak of the #EndSARS protest last year,' he further said." https://ngg.ng/endsars-memorial-police-reform-overdue-in-nigeria-already-captain-timi-iyela/

At a time Nigerians are struggling to survive due to harsh economic conditions, former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has urged the masses to prepare for worst times ahead. Frank is the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) Ambassador to East Africa and Middle East, said his fear was predicated on the “2022 Budget of Economic Growth and Sustainability” recently laid before a joint session of the National Assembly by President Muhammdu Buhari. He said since the purchasing power of the average Nigerian has been inexorably eroded by rising cost of goods and services coupled with expected increases in the pump price of petrol, electricity tariffs and introduction of new taxes, the people must of necessity tighten their belts to survive the economic tsunami ahead. Frank in a statement in Abuja, berated President Buhari for again deceiving Nigerians with a budget he knows will bring more hardship to them than succour. “In the history of Nigeria,” according to him, “no President or head of state has lied to Nigerians like Buhari.” “For instance, Buhari stated that his regime is targeting N17.70trillion as total federally-collectible revenue for 2022. Yet, he plans to finance the 2022 Budget Deficit of N6.26trillion through borrowing thereby pushing up the nation’s debt.” He lamented that since Buhari took over in 2015, annual budget performance has remained below 30 per cent. “This is because they are budgets of lies and no one can implement a lie,” he declared. He insisted that Buhari’s plan to seek further amendments to the Finance Act 2020, is meant to lay additional financial burden on the shoulders of Nigerians. “This invariably means, among others, that some present taxes will either be reviewed upwards or new ones introduced,” he said. He recalled that based on the law, which became fully operational on January 1, 2021, Value Added Tax (VAT) was increased from 5% to 7.5% while impoverished Nigerians are now being charged N50 levy on every electronic money transfer deposited in any bank or financial institution, on any account, on the sum of N10,000 and above. According to him, this levy is in addition to other charges like Short Message Service (SMS), Account Maintenance, etc, which Nigerians are already being made to pay by commercial banks. He also said that a new way to further plunder the downtrodden Nigerians by Buhari is the planned reintroduction of tollgates on Federal Highways in the country. He said when the scheme becomes operational, according to the Federal Government, motorists will be made to pay N200, N500, and N1000 respectively depending on the type of vehicle. He added: “It is grievous that Buhari did not tell Nigerians that as he was speaking to his Halleluya and Amen Boys in the highly comprised ninth National Assembly and fixing the 2022 official exchange rate at N410.15k to $1, the Naira on Thursday last week (same day) traded at N570 to the dollar at the unofficial (parallel) market. “The Naira also exchanged at N410.81 per dollar at the Investors and Exporters (I&E) forex window, thereby putting a lie to Buhari’s proposal of N410.15.50 to a dollar officially.” He insisted that the National Assembly had hurriedly approved the passage of the PIA, in the interest of Buhari and not for the benefit of Nigerians. “The rubber stamp National Assembly hurriedly passed the Petroleum Industry Act, not because they love Nigeria but because Buhari and his cronies want to perpetually be in charge of the incorporated entities. He recalled that Buhari and Nigerian oil industry have become inseparable since the the regime of Olusegun Obasanjo as Head of State. He “When Olusegun Obasanjo became a military Head of State in 1976, Buhari, then a Colonel, was appointed the Federal Commissioner (Minister) for Petroleum and Natural Resources. “In 1977, when the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) was created, Buhari was appointed as its Chairman, a position he held until 1978. “Buhari served as the Chairman of the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF), a body created by the regime of late General Sani Abacha. He has doubled as the President, Commander-In-Chief, and Minister of Petroleum Resources since 2015. “I dare say that with the ongoing incorporation of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, in line with provisions in the PIA, the petroleum industry in Nigeria will continue to be in the firm grips of Buhari, post 2023, through his proxies and cronies who have concluded plans to mop up the initial share capital of N200billion of the company soon to be put up for sale to Nigerians. “The purchase and control of Nigerian power assets by both present and former political office holders is telling in this direction.” He insisted that Nigerians are terribly disappointed in some opposition lawmakers in the National Assembly who joined APC lawmakers to clap for Buhari as witnessed by viewers during the live telecast of the budget presentation session. He said: “Instead of them to make Buhari to understand that they were only there because duty demands that they be there, they were apparently carried away. “One wonders if they cannot borrow a leaf from the way opposition lawmakers in other climes react whenever the President told a lie or says anything that is doubtful or inaccurate during presentations.”

The federal government has formally filed charges against the Chairman of Human and Environmental Development Agenda (HEDA), Mr. Olarenwaju Suraju, for allegedly cyberstalking the former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Mohammed Bello Adoke. Ngg.ng learnt as of Saturday that the filing of the suit marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/370/2021, at the Federal High Court, Abuja is coming nearly six months after Suraju was arrested and investigated by the police following a petition by the former AGF. The AGF’s office is specifically accusing Suraju in the four-count charge, of circulating in his social media handles, emails and audio interview information which he “knew to be false after same was rejected in evidence in a criminal court in Italy”. The prosecuting counsel, Mr. A.O. Shaibu, said the HEDA boss had committed the alleged act which violates section 24 of the Cybercrimes Act, 2015, with the aim “to insult and dent the image of Mohammed Adoke”. The police had on April 15, 2021, interrogated Suraju over a forgery petition by Adoke, demanding a probe of an email evidence presented against him by prosecutors in Malabu trial in Milan, Italy. Adoke in the petition had claimed that Suraju circulated a fake tape said to be of an interview he (Adoke) had with an Italian journalist admitting that the Malabu transaction was a scam. In the affidavit of completion of investigation in support of the charge dated October 8, 2021, a litigation Clerk in the office of the Director of Public Department of the Federation, Federal Ministry of Justice, Mr. Noma Wondo, said the federal government has concluded investigation of the matter and that a prima facie case has been established against Suraju. In count one Suraju was accused of intentionally circulating an audio telephone interview between Ms CarlaMaria Rumur, a reporter with RIAReporter in Italy and Mohammed Adoke via his twitter handle @HEDAagenda which he knew to be false for the purpose of causing insult to Adoke and thereby committed an offense contrary to section 24 of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention ETC) Act 2015 and punishable under the same section of the Act. In count 2, Suraju was accused of committing the same alleged offense in count one through the twitter handle @HEDAResourcecentre. The federal government in count 3 however accused Suraju of “intentionally circulating an email dated June 21, 2011, alleged to have been sent with the email address agroupproperties@yahoo.com owned by A Group Properties and received by a certain Osoluke Bayo O. with the email address bayo.o.osoluke@ipmorgan, which you knew to be false via your twitter handle @HEDAagenda, for the purpose of causing insult to Adoke and hereby committed an offense contrary to section 24 of the Cybercrimes ( Prohibition, Prevention ETC) Act 2015 and punishable under the same section of the Act”. In count 4, the defendant was equally accused of committing same offense in count three via the facebook handle @HEDAResourcecentre. Meanwhile, an Italian court has since dismissed allegations of corruption in the OPL 245 deal while the prosecutors are being investigated over alleged falsification and manipulation of evidence. https://ngg.ng/cyberstalking-allegation-fg-charges-hedas-boss-suraju-to-court-on-criminal-charges/
