PoliticsOsun: Timi Frank Warns INEC, Security Agencies Against Rigging, Vote-buying by Itopalucky(op): 12:55pm On Jul 14, 2022
Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, on Thursday, called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies not to connive with the ruling party to deny the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of victory during the upcoming governorship election in Osun State.

Frank in a statement in Abuja, said he has credible intelligence at his disposal to the effect that the APC has concluded plans to rig the Osun State governorship election through intimidation, harassment and mass arrest of PDP leaders and supporters in the state.

He called on INEC officials and security personnel deployed to conduct the poll to live above board and to ensure that all the rigging plots of the APC are thwarted.

He said any attempt to rig the election would be fiercely resisted by the people of Osun and the country in general.

He insisted that having become unpopular because of their hidden agenda to Islamise Nigeria through a Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket for 2023, the APC has increasingly become desperate to remain in power by stealing the genuine mandates of popular opposition candidates, like they did to Ademola Adeleke in the last election.

Frank who is the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) Ambassador to East Africa and Middle East, said:

“We don’t want a repeat of Ekiti gubernatorial elections where vote buying by the APC and undue harassment of opposition supporters by security agents was the order of the day.

“We don’t also want a repeat of the last governorship election in Osun State, where the candidate of the PDP won but INEC connived with APC by declaring the election inconclusive during declaration of results.

“Therefore, the INEC must not only be transparent, but must ensure that all those who plan to disrupt, rig or engage in vote buying are promptly arrested and subsequently prosecuted.

“Nigerians and the international community are watching to see if INEC and the security agents deployed for the election will again do the bidding of the APC by rigging their unpopular candidate into office once again.”

“Any attempt to again deny the governorship candidate of the PDP, Ademola Adeleke, his deserved victory this time around would be fiercely resisted by Nigerians in general and Osun people in particular.

“It clear that Governor Gboyega Oyetola and candidate of the APC has woefully underperformed in the last three and half years and Osun people are eager to elect a Adeleke who is out to wipe their tears and genuinely work to develop the state,” he said.

He called on the United States of America, United Kingdom and other leading members of the international community to help entrench democratic culture in the country by ensuring that any government or security official caught aiding and abetting rigging or vote buying are blacklisted and denied visa.

Politics“How Shettima Caused The Kidnap Of Chibok School Girls In 2014” – Reno Omokri by Itopalucky(op): 3:11pm On Jul 11, 2022
Former Presidential media aide and best-selling author, Reno Omokri has revealed how Vice Presidential candidate of the ruling APC, Kassim Shettima, caused the 2014 kidnap incident that happened in a school in Chibok.

Shettima, then was Governor of Borno State.

In a recent tweet reacting to the unveiling of Shettima as the Vice Presidential candidate of the APC for the 2023 polls, Reno Omokri brought out a memo from the Ministry of Education, revealing how Shettima then as Governor of Borno State disobeyed a Presidential advice regarding how it was unsafe to write WAEC in Borno State then in 2014.

According to the memo, signed by Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, who was the then Supervising Education Minister, Borno State, then under Shettima as its Governor, was advised not to “hold WAEC exams at Chibok.”

According to Reno Omokri, Shettima “refused.”

“Because of his refusal, Boko Haram abducted 276 #ChibokGirls,” Reno Omokri further said.

PoliticsOsazemen Mourns Late Hon. Ise-idehen, Says His Death Is A Huge Vacuum by Itopalucky(op): 11:40am On Jul 02, 2022
July 2, 2022

Hon. Osazemen Imagbenikaro, a front line contender for the Egor/Ikpoba Federal House of Representatives primaries election in 2022, on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has mourned the untimely demise of the incumbent house of representatives member, Hon. Jude Ise-Idehen, describing the news as a rude shock.

“The news of the death of Hon. Jude came to me as a rude shock knowing fully well that he was a man full of life and warmth, Hon. Osazemen said.

The PDP Chieftain noted with sadness and a feeling of emptiness that the loss was a devastating one to the Federal Constituency as a whole and Nigeria in general.

“The demise of Hon. Jude is a devastating loss to the entire Federal Constituency and the Nation in general. He was a man with sound mind who eschewed any form of bitterness and sentiments regardless of one’s social status, political affiliation, tribe and (or) religious inclination.

“He has left a huge vacuum in our lives and we pray that God will grant his soul eternal rest, and grant his family and well wishers he left behind the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss, Hon. Osazemen prayed.

Hon. Osazemen Imagbenikaro also condoles with the Edo State Governor, H.E. Governor Godwin Obaseki, over the passing of Hon. Jude Ise-Idehen who is one of the Governor's allies.

The Amazon further urged her Constituents to take solace in the words of the Almighty God which states that, for everything under the sun, there is an appointed time.

At this trying moment, my heart, thoughts and prayers are with the family of the demise and the entire Egor/Ikpoba Federal Constituency. May God console us all.

PoliticsVideo: ‘ba Ma So’: Borno People Rejects Apc/tinubu by Itopalucky(op): 9:35am On Jun 30, 2022
As 2023 Presidential Election hots up, it’s been becoming clearer that the ruling party, All Progressives Congress are losing their grip, and Nigerians are no longer buying their falsehoods.

This much was proven in Borno State, when Governor Babagana Zulum visited a community to campaign for Bola Tinubu’s Presidential bid, but met an unforseen resistance, when the people started screaming “Ba ma so”, meaning, “we don’t want!”

PoliticsTimi Frank Urges INEC To Disqualify Tinubu Over Controversial Certificate Claims by Itopalucky(op): 5:34pm On Jun 26, 2022
A former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, on Sunday, called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to urgently disqualify the presidential candidate of the APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Frank in a statement in Abuja also called on the APC to replace Tinubu as its candidate if it hopes to be on the presidential ballot for 2023.

The Bayelsa-born political activist said this has become necessary following controversial educational qualification claims by Tinubu as contained in his presidential nomination forms recently published by the INEC.

Frank who is the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) Ambassador to East Africa and Middle East, said the issue about Tinubu’s basic education certificates or lack of it represents a test case for the electoral umpire as it would form one of the yardsticks to determine its partisanship or non-partisanship as the 2023 general elections draw near.

He argued that by not presenting his basic certificates as required by law for those running for political offices in the country, Tinubu stands automatically disqualified from partaking in the presidential race.

He noted that inconsistencies in Tinubu’s several depositions over the years before INEC show that he is either being evasive or attempting a cover-up, an action he described as a direct breach of the Constitution.

According to him, the United States of America’s Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) had in a letter to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), dated July 28, 2011, with File No. 80-LG-C110, made it categorically clear that Tinubu never “enrolled as a student” at the Chicago State University he claimed to have studied.

He insisted that INEC and indeed the APC must answer the following questions to determine if Tinubu can or cannot continue as a presidential candidate:

Did Tinubu attend the primary and secondary school he alluded to in his previous document with INEC?

If in his 2022 INEC form, Tinubu deliberately omitted to include his primary and secondary school, is this not a further proof that he lied in his previously submitted forms to INEC accompanied by affidavit?

If he lied about both schools as indicated in his INEC forms, is that not a breach of the law as a public servant?

If he did not attend University of Chicago at the time he stated in his affidavit previously submitted to INEC, is he still qualified to continue as APC’s Presidential candidate?

If the above questions are answered in the negative, is Tinubu still fit to proceed as candidate of the APC in the forthcoming presidential election?

Above all, he wondered whether the APC lacked competent members with requisite, authentic and impeccable educational qualifications instead of always assailing the good sense of Nigerians with candidates of doubtful academic background.

“Nigerians and indeed the international community are watching the INEC to see if it will be faithful to its role as an unbiased umpire by disqualifying Tinubu or it will retain him and kickstart a hailstorm of confusion that may ultimately rubbish its integrity in conducting the 2023 general elections,” Frank declared.

Politics"Nigeria Needs Pacesetters, Not Placeholders" - Reno Omokri by Itopalucky(op): 12:38pm On Jun 22, 2022
(First published in #TheAlternative, on ThisDay.)

On January 10, 2022, the former Governor of Lagos state, and now the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, visited General Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa. After that meeting, he informed the waiting press that he had intimidated Buhari of his “lifelong ambition” to be President of Nigeria.

Bola Tinubu claims to be 70 years old. So, if his statement that he has a ‘lifelong ambition’ to be President is true, then he must have been planning for at least 40 years.

Was it not Brian Tracy who said “Every minute you spend in planning saves 10 minutes in execution; this gives you a 1,000% Return on Energy”? So where is Bola Tinubu’s return on investment on his planning?

How can you be planning to be President for years, and when you finally get your party’s ticket, you are not able to choose a deputy? It shows indecision and unpreparedness. Even before you won, you should have known who you wanted to choose. Nigeria needs a leader, not a fiddler!

If Tinubu says he has a lifelong ambition to be President, then it says a lot about his ability to plan, and the planning ability of those other Presidential candidates, who are still relying on placeholders to fill their tickets. How can you plan for a lifetime only to go for a placeholder?

Having a placeholder shows that you are not ready. Not ready to contest. Not ready to win. And certainly not ready to govern. We have been once bitten by Buhari. Therefore we should be twice shy with Tinubu, and any other Presidential candidate who has problem deciding on a substantive running mate.

It is only that we are a very forgetful people. What led to the first recession under Buhari? The fact that 6 months after being sworn in as President, he had not named a cabinet. Indecision in a leader has repercussions. If you can’t pick a deputy on time, you can’t lead Nigeria on track

All parties were furnished with the INEC
timetable. They knew the deadlines. Any party that could not organise itself in an orderly manner to produce a Presidential candidate and his deputy within the allotted time, has shown their unpreparedness to govern!

Nigeria needs a leader who can take decisions. Someone who can work and decide under pressure. If Nigerians are attacked we need a leader who can respond in a timely manner. People who cannot choose their running mates within the allotted time cannot be decisive leaders.

No matter what you think about the PDP, the fact is that as a party, they have demonstrated decisiveness. They picked their candidate within time. And their candidate picked his running mate with dispatch. What this should tell Nigerians is that the PDP is READY to govern!

At this time, Nigeria does not need placeholders. We need pacesetters. Bola Tinubu calls himself Asiwaju. The literal meaning of Asiwaju is someone who opens up the front. A leader. A pacesetter. What kind of Asiwaju cannot make up his mind who his running mate should be?

We should not tolerate a situation where it is easier for political parties to pick Presidential candidates than it is for them to pick Vice Presidential candidates. That kind of foot dragging and pussyfooting is a red flag that signals unpreparedness to govern.

When you are not organised enough to give the public your genuine Vice Presidential candidate within the time allotted, you are invariably proving that you are not in fact a political party. You are merely a group of people conspiring to take power for your own interests!

And to add salt to injury, the All Progressives Congress officially came out with a position that Nigerians should stop “mounting pressure” on Tinubu over his inability to choose his running mate. They prove my point. If choosing his vice presidential nominee is too much pressure for Tinubu, then he is obviously not up to the higher pressure of being President.

If a party is giving you a dummy candidate to be withdrawn later, what is to stop them from giving you dummy promises to be withdrawn later? Is that not what Buhari did with All Promises Canceled? This is a warning to Nigerians. Slaveholders use placeholders to pull the wool over our eyes!

It is not just Bola Tinubu who would have an issue with the placeholder theory. For months many people have been arguing against another Fulani President, and I counselled them against such identity politics. Now, Kwankwaso is their new darling. How are they going to explain their new found love for a Fulani man? How will they eat their words, seeing as Kwankwaso self identifies as a Fulani?

What are they going to say? Especially as Kwankwaso, in his June 18, 2020 BBC Hausa interview, clearly stated that the expectation is that the older man (him) should be the Presidential candidate, while the younger man should content himself with the Vice Presidential slot? If they accept Kwankwaso’s suggestion, it means that their problem is not with the Fulani. Their problem is power and they will do what it takes to get it!

I am just watching the unfolding drama of this set of people whose main political strategy is to insult and threaten. What have they not called me? Fulani slave. Fulani boy boy. Reno OmoFulani. These things they said in writing. Many of such insults even went viral. But today, they now see value in the same Fulani that they dehumanised. I laugh in Fufulde!

Why do I laugh? Because I lived with pure Fulani in old Sokoto state. They have one trait, which serves them well. They do not react emotionally, so when you hurt them, you may think that they did not notice, or remember. However, they are uber observant, and have the memory of an elephant.

And this is one reason why I commend Bola Tinubu’s supporters. I don’t like Tinubu. I believe he lacks the qualities needed for a good leader. But he has good followers. They do not insult or threaten. They are very goal oriented. Marketing their candidate with persuasion rather than intimidation.

In conclusion, the bottom line is that the All Progressives Congress and the other placeholder parties are ill equipped and ill prepared to govern. When we say Atiku is the unifier, some throw tantrums. Look at our ticket. Fully balanced. Northern-Southern, Muslim-Christian, Fulani, Delta Igbo. Can you honestly say that any party has a better combination? Do you want Muslim-Muslim, or Christian-Christian that is even Southern-Southern?

The PDP are ready. If the election is tomorrow, they are ready. They are ready to win and to govern. Nigerians just face the facts. Whether you love him or hate him, the fact remains that no other candidate is as prepared for the job of President as Atiku Abubakar.

You want Nigerians to vote you in as a party, yet you can’t decide who is your running mate? If you have an inconclusive ticket, how can you have a decisive government? If you can’t meet INEC’s deadline, how can you meet your own promises? Let us face facts!

Others say they are working on a merger with Kwankwaso. Kwamkwaso has already said he will NEVER be a VP candidate. So in essence, what are they telling Nigerians? As at today, the only party that is ready for the election is the PDP. You can hate facts, but you can’t dismiss them!

Former Presidential spokesman and best-selling author, Reno Omokri, has spoken on the chances of the leading Presidential aspirants for the 2023 polls.

In an interview with Arise TV, Reno Omokri described the Southwesterners as “highly sophisticated”, a factor he said will work against Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC Presidential candidate.

Speaking about the chances of Kwankwaso, the Presidential candidate of the NNPP; Reno Omokri said Kwankwaso is only popular within the Northwest, a factor that will not really affect in any negative way, the chances of Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential candidate of the PDP.

Reno Omokri said Peter Obi, the Presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP) is popular but his popularity will not really have negative effect on the chances of Atiku Abubakar in Southeast Nigeria as Southeasterners are highly sophisticated persons as well.

PoliticsWhat Has Atiku Achieved? – Reno Omokri (Video) by Itopalucky(op): 1:45pm On Jun 03, 2022

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PqpZV41QiI

Former Presidential Spokesman, Reno Omokri has given Nigerians a hint on some of the things former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, the PDP Presidential candidate for the 2023 polls, has achieved both in personal life and in past office held.

In a YouTube video included sighted by 2023.ng, titled “What has Atiku achieved?”, Reno Omokri said;

Atiku led the economic team that paid off Nigeria’s debt, privatized the telecom sector, and cement industries, that exploded our GDP and created jobs and brought in technocrats into Government.
“He chaired the National Economic Council that introduced the GSM into Nigeria, while stabilizing Nigeria. He pushed for the creation of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, and gave that corruption fighting body their first grant, from his budget, because they were created in between budgets. He led the Obasanjo administration’s effort to restore peace and re-establish law and order during the Sharia crisis of 2000.”

Furthermore, Reno Omokri said Atiku “in his private life, co-founded one of the largest oil and gas, and ports logistics service firms in Africa in the 80s.”

He also said that “Alhaji Atiku Abubakar through that company and other companies in his Priam Group of Companies, personally employs more people than many State Governments.”

Reno Omokri told Nigerians of how Atiku is the proprietor of the American University of Nigeria (AUN), Yola in Adamawa State; “which is one of the best private universities in Africa, as well as the first American-style university in Sub-Saharan Africa.”
According to Reno Omokri, through American University of Nigeria (AUN), Atiku has given full scholarship to over hundred students including some of the #ChibokGirls.

“He (Atiku) loves education and he would fund ASUU,” Reno Omokri said.

Politics“FFK: The Strange Case Of Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde” By Reno Omokri by Itopalucky(op): 8:42am On Jun 01, 2022
On May 29, 2022, former aviation minister, Chief Femi Fani Kayode congratulated former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, on his victory at the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential primaries, which held on May 28, 2022.

The congratulations was so effusive. Chief Fani Kayode described the Waziri Adamawa as a “formidable candidate”, and called his emergence an act of “justice”.

So, I was rather surprised that the same Femi, in a troubling 180 degree about turn in less than 24 hours, wrote a scathing piece attacking the emergence of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in his piece ‘PDP’s Great Betrayal And The Choice Before The APC.’

In that piece, Mr. Fani-Kayode described the PDP Presidential primaries as a “show of shame”. How could a process that he called ‘just’ only 24 hours before now suddenly become shameful. Is justice shameful? Methinks not!

Then, again, he says “This was not an election but a shameless gathering of corrupt souls.” Really? Where is the evidence for this beyond beer parlour gossip?

And then he amazingly called on INEC to annul a convention and its winner that he had just praised profoundly? Are we dealing with another strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde?

Even more bizarrely, Chief Fani-Kayode goes on to harangue the Peoples Democratic Party for giving its ticket to a Northerner, which in itself is a strange criticism, given the fact that for the last twelve months, Femi Fani-Kayode has been traversing Nigeria, telling whoever cares to listen that his preferred candidate for the office of the President of Nigeria come 2023 is Yahaya Bello, the incumbent Governor of Kogi state, who is, wait for it, a Northerner!

So, how do you even begin to situate these multiple contradictions coming from only one man? It reminds me of the response Christ got when he asked the demoniac from the Gerasenes what his name was. The man responded “my name is Legion, for we are many”-Mark 5:9.

It is hard to take the criticism of a man serious when you do not know which personality within him you would be dealing with on any given day.

And here he is accusing Atiku Abubakar and some phantom Northerners of having a hidden agenda of cheating the Rivers state Governor, Barrister Nyesom Wike.

But how can that be when Wike got much of his 237 votes from Northern delegates? Even more telling is the fact that Governor Wike himself blamed Southerners for his inability to emerge victorious.

Can Femi Fani-Kayode know where the shoe pinches on the legs of Governor Wike more than Governor Wike himself?

And why did he write that the South is wrong to perceive Muhammadu Buhari as an ethnic bigot? Really? Is this the same Femi? Any way, when ‘there are many of us’ you never can tell which personality you will be dealing with.

Because how can you eulogise a Buhari who on July 25, 2015 said “constituents, for example, gave me 97% cannot in all honesty be treated on some issues with constituencies that gave me 5%’?

And Buhari meant it. Look at how he has conducted his government in the last seven years?

And what did the Femi, who is now attacking Alhaji Atiku Abubakar over his Northernness (as if Waziri Atiku made himself a Northerner) say when a pregnant Northern woman named Harira, was killed with her four children in the South, just because she was identified as a Northerner?

He Kept quiet. Not a single word. Why? Yet he had plenty of sympathies for the shooting incidence in Texas. That is not the Femi we know, even taking into account the multiple personalities.

The 2023 elections should be about issues, not sentiments. And the main issue is that we need a man who has demonstrated in his own personal life that he can bring about prosperity for himself and others.

Why do I support Atiku Abubakar for President? Not because he is a Northerner. I support him for the following reasons:

He led the Economic Management Team that paid off Nigeria’s debt.

He privatised the telecom and cement industries, that exploded our GDP and created jobs.

He brought in technocrats into government.

He chaired the National Economic Council that brought GSM into Nigeria and which stabilised the Naira.

He pushed for the creation of the EFCC, and gave that corruption fighting body their first grant, from his budget, because they were created in between budgets.

He led the Obasanjo administration’s efforts to restore peace, law and order during the Sharia crisis of 2000.

In his private life, Atiku co-founded one of the largest oil and gas, and ports services firms in Africa in the 80s.

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, through that company, and other companies in his Priam group of companies, personally employs more people than many state governments.

He is also the proprietor of the American University of Nigeria, Yola, which is one of the best private universities in Africa, as well as the first American-style university in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Through that institution, he has given full scholarship to over a hundred students, including some of the #ChibokGirls.

The conclusion of the matter is that Nigeria is too unstable to be further destabilised by unstable persons.

I understand that Femi has a pending court case for fraud. As a result, it is easy for the government, through the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to yank his chains and get him to say one thing today and the opposite tomorrow.

I sympathise with him, and I urge the public to also be compassionate with him, considering his ordeal. It cannot be easy being Yahaya Bello’s lackey, especially as Governor Bello is not known to be a lenient task master.

PoliticsTimi Frank Congratulates PDP For Electing Atiku As Presidential Candidate by Itopalucky(op): 3:35pm On May 29, 2022
…Urges party to remain focused

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, on Sunday, congratulated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for conducting a free, fair, credible and transparent presidential primary election.

Frank in a statement in Abuja, congratulated ex-Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for winning the ticket as the Presidential candidate of PDP for 2023.

He also congratulated the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, former Senate President Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim and other presidential aspirants of the PDP for their sterling, courageous and patriotic performances during the convention.

He thanked them for stepping out to seek a platform to provide solutions to the myriad of challenges confronting the country, noting that all aspirants that participated in the primary are all winners.

He urged them to support the former Vice President to lead the party to victory.

He described Atiku’s emergence as the presidential flag bearer of the PDP as the best thing that has happened to the party and the country since 1999.

He thanked the party’s Adhoc delegates for voting for a man of experience, capacity, competence, reach, exposure and blueprint to return the PDP to power at the centre as well as rescue the country from imminent collapse.

Frank said: “The emergence of Atiku Abubakar as the Presidential flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party is not only commendable but a golden dawn for the party to bounce back to power.

“The PDP has gotten it absolutely right so far, all that remains is for the party to be focused, committed and resolute to achieve its aim of forming and administering the next government at the centre.

“There is no doubt that Atiku has all it takes to win votes to help the party realise its dream of returning to power, but the party needs to continue on the part of solidarity by making the necessary sacrifices to remain cohesive, united and impregnable to achieve the ultimate goal of occupying Aso Rock Villa in 2023.

“We thank all other presidential aspirants for their sacrifices and passion for a positive paradigm shift in the governance of the country. All of you are winners.

We also commend all Adhoc delegates to the convention for listening to our plea to shun monetary inducements and vote according to their conscience and for voting for Atiku to emerge as the presidential candidate of the party.

“This is the time for the PDP to return to the drawing board, appease all aggrieved presidential aspirants and ensure that the party goes into the 2023 presidential election with a solid and united front.

“We are confident that Atiku has all it requires to ensure that the PDP wins the 2023 presidential election and return the PDP to power in 2023.

“This is the goal and the party cannot afford to allow sentiments, selfishness and divided loyalties to deny it of the ultimate prize.”

According to him, Atiku is the Comforter that Nigerians have been praying and yearning for. He therefore urged the party to work passionately and assiduously to emerge victorious at the end of the day.

PoliticsGroup Calls Out Saharareporters Over "Campaign Of Calumny" Against Minister by Itopalucky(op): 4:04pm On May 26, 2022
A group named Agents of Change has called out SaharaReporters, an online media platform over its allegation that Minister for Humanitarian Affairs, Sadiya Umar Farouq is using public funds to fund the governorship campaign of a former Chief of Air Staff.

The media platform alleged that Sadiya Umar Farouq is funding Sadique Abubakar’s election bid.

According to the group, "SaharaReporters is in its usual nature of dragging golden names in the mud for traffic, out again to toy with the good name of the minister by trying to add her name to any negative story aimed at tarnishing her image. SaharaReporters is clearly on a campaign of calumny against the Honourable Minister".

The group urged the Minister Sadiya Umar Farouq to stay focused on her job and not be distracted by attempts by SaharaReporters or any media platform to drag her name in the mud in the course of this electioneering season.

“The Minister who is no less a leader, a focused one at that, has chosen to stay focused on her job of overseeing the Humanitarian ministry as mandated by Mr President. The last time we checked, that is what she is pre-occupied with. Where SaharaReporters saw her funding anybody’s election before no less the personality of former Chief of Air Staff, Sadique Abubakar, is what SaharaReporters have to clarify as in law ‘he who must allege must prove’.

“We make bold to say the allegation by SaharaReporters against the minister is not just false but a subtle attempt to distract the Minister in the good works she is currently doing for Nigeria in support of President Buhari’s administration,” the group’s Spokesperson, Yakubu Sabo, said.

Politics2023: Timi Frank Warns PDP Adhoc Delegates Against Selling Of Votes by Itopalucky(op): 11:22am On May 26, 2022
Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, on Thursday, warned Adhoc delegates billed to elect a Presidential Candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at its special national convention on Saturday not to sell their votes to the highest bidder.

Frank in a statement in Abuja, urged the Adhoc delegates to put the progress and development of Nigeria above all parochial, selfish and mundane interests by voting for a candidate with track record of performance and providing solutions, good governance, experience, competence, impeccable character and a strong political will to deliver.

According to him, the clarion call has become necessary to make for the process of national rebirth and development beginning from 2023.

He insisted that the PDP Adhoc delegates now have the sacred duty to reverse the dwindling fortunes of the country caused by a directionless All Progressives Congress (APC) where confusion, lack of internal democracy and imposition of candidates has become the principles and directive policies of the party.

Frank, who is the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) Ambassador to East Africa and Middle East, said: “We have observed with utmost disappointment that during the primary elections for House of Representatives, Senate and Governorship of the PDP, political office holders, especially outgoing Governors, hijacked the processes by imposing their lackeys on the people.

“We have also seen how political office holders intimidated, harassed and used huge sums of apparently looted funds to bribe delegates to have their way.

“This action by the Governors will definitely not lead to the kind of leadership Nigerians desire in the next dispensation beginning from the 2023 general elections.

“Therefore, we passionately and strongly urge Adhoc delegates to the Special Convention of the PDP to pick the party’s presidential candidate on Saturday to shun all manner of bribes but should be courageous to vote for a candidate that is competent to lead our dear country out of the woods.

“Our country is in dire straits due to insecurity and economic collapse and only a capable, experienced and knowledgeable aspirant in tune with modern political dynamics and socio-economic trends should be voted as the presidential flag-bearer of the party.

“Adhoc delegates must not because of one day’s enjoyment or gain, arising from huge monetary inducements, elect a questionable and incompetent character who will eventually ruin their very future and that of the entire country.

“Good enough, Nigerians know the names and addresses of these Adhoc delegates and they will surely mark them out after the convention either as those who voted to salvage the country at a time of immense chaos and anarchy in the land, or those who voted for their pockets and threw the country back into the abyss of hopelessness, joblessness, insecurity, hunger, despair, disease and unbearable societal decay.”

He attributed the precarious and parlous state of the country under the Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) led APC’s administration to poor choices made by APC delegates in 2014 during similar national convention to select presidential candidate for the party.

He added: “We are where we are today because delegates in the past sold their votes for money, religion, ethnicity and bigotry.

“It is clear that the challenges of economic collapse, unmitigated insecurity, hunger, joblessness, frequent power grid failure and educational morass now bedeviling the country are direct function of poor choice of candidates especially for the office of President by political party delegates since return to democratic governance in 1999.

“Delegates today stand at the threshold of history to pick a candidate who if voted into office as President will roll up his or her sleeves and wholeheartedly work for this country and not a section of it.

“These Adhoc delegates must really put Nigerian first. In the past they were directly responsible for foisting bad leadership on the country, because those they selected during primary elections eventually became the only options Nigerians had to choose from during the general elections.”

He urged the Adhoc delegates to bravely resist any form of intimidation, manipulation and misdirection by outgoing Governors who facilitated their emergence as delegates by patriotically voting to elect suitable and competent candidates that would ultimately provide answers to the prayers of Nigerians if elected during the general election.

He reminded them that the Governors now prodding them to satisfy their myopic and selfish desires would not suffer with them should a bad leader again emerge from their choice as the outgoing state chief executives already amassed enough wealth both legally and illegally to sustain them and their families for a long time.

“Otherwise, the Adhoc delegates would also suffer the harsh repercussions of selling their votes to the wrong candidates for money which is ephemeral.

“This is an opportunity for Adhoc delegates to make history. Let it be said that they came to the nation’s rescue with their votes at such a critical era in her Chequered evolution. They must avoid saying ‘had I know’ in the near future,” he said.

He urged Nigerians to mark delegates to the PDP convention and hold them responsible should they choose a presidential candidate that would worsen an already terrible and unbearable life situation or one with whom the country can breathe a sigh of relief after eventual emergence as president.

PoliticsPDP Convention: Oyo Delegates Back Saraki by Itopalucky(op): 4:02pm On May 17, 2022
The national delegates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State earlier today declares support for former Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, who is one of the 15 presidential aspirants that will contest for the ticket of the party at the Abuja national convention slated for May 28 and 29.

The delegates declared their support for Saraki after a meeting they had with him in Ibadan where he briefed them on his plans for the country if elected president.

In a unanimous decision arrived at by the delegates and announced by its chairman, Mr. Dayo Ogungbenro, PDP leaders in Oyo State said they hinged their decision to support Saraki on three planks. First, they noted that he is the only Presidential aspirant among the lot in the PDP and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) who has made public a manifesto that unfolds his plan to tackle some of the problems confronting the country.

The Oyo PDP leaders also noted that after listening to Saraki articulating the programmes without looking into any paper, mit became clear that he was ready to “provide good governance to Nigerians and knows what he is talking about”.

They added that Saraki is also a son of the soil because his grandmother was from Oyo State and deserved to be treated as a “ favourite homeboy”. They added that if the PDP would choose a candidate from the North it must be a person like Saraki whose origins cuts across the various divides.

It should be noted that with its 190-man delegation, Oyo State has the largest number of delegates in the entire country that will participate in the PDP national convention.

PoliticsTimi Frank Condemns Detention Of Hon Farah Dagogo by Itopalucky(op): 1:59pm On Apr 29, 2022
…Calls on FG, INC, IYC, PANDEF to call Gov Wike to order

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, on Friday, condemned in strong terms the illegal arrest, arraignment and detention of Honourable Farah Dagogo.

He called on the Federal Government to call the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike to order over the illegal arrest, kangaroo arraignment and remand of Hon Dagogo who represents Degema/Bonny Federal Constituency of Rivers State by a Magistrate’s Court in Port Harcourt.

He also called on the Ijaw National Congress (INC), Ijaw Youth Congress (IYC) and the Pan Niger Delta Forum ( PANDEF) to speak up over this political witch-hunt and ensure that Dagogo is immediately granted bail since the charge against him is a bailable offence.

Dagogo was on Thursday arrested at the PDP governorship screening hall and detained at the Rivers State Government House based on the orders of Governor Wike.

Governor Wike had last Wednesday declared Dagogo wanted for allegedly “hiring cultists to attack the PDP Secretariat in Port Harcourt,” an allegation the lawmaker denied.

Frank who is the United Liberation Movement for West Papau (ULMWP) Ambassador to East Africa and Middle East, called for the immediate and unconditional release of Hon Dagogo from detention within 24 hours to prevent Niger Delta Youths, now seething with anger over the gross violation of Dagogo’s fundamental human rights, from becoming restive.

He called on the Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba Ahmed to caution the Commissioner of Police in Rivers State and his men to steer clear of harassing and embarrassing innocent citizens being framed by political opponents.

He called on the National Assembly, especially the Speaker of the House of Representatives, to immediately launch an investigation into the arrest and remand episode, to ensure that Dagogo is not unjustly punished based on politically motivated trumped up charges.

Frank said: “We know that Hon. Dagogo, an Ijaw leader from the riverine area of Rivers State has obtained nomination forms to contest the Governorship primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and that this kangaroo arrest ordered by Wike was meant to prevent him from being screened by the party.

“We know that Dagogo has no immunity, but let him be admitted to bail immediately since the charges against him are bailable.

“Let me warn that his continuous detention may sooner than later disrupt the peace now being experienced in the Niger Delta and its social economic benefits to the Federal Government.

“Dagogo is not small fry in the Niger Delta struggle. We know the role he played in 2015 to ensure that PDP and Wike emerged victorious in Rivers State.

“He has a right to aspire to be governor of Rivers State. So those that are planning to frustrate him with this arrest should think twice by giving due consideration to the prevailing peace in Rivers State and the entire Niger Delta region today.

“As a stakeholder in the Niger Delta region who contributed immensely in ending militancy in the region, I advise the Federal Government to urgently intervene to ensure that this political intimidation against Dagogo is halted because an injury to one is an injury to all.

“I urge the leadership of the INC, IYC and PANDEF to urgently condemn the unjust arrest and remand of Dagogo over frivolous charged and to demand his immediate release.”

He called on the Governors in the Niger Delta Region to caution Governor Wike to desist from using security agents to harass Dagogo and other political opponents as the 2023 general elections draw near.

The repercussion of this gross violation of the fundamental human rights of Hon. Dagogo can be better imagine as Niger Delta youths will not fold their arms in the face of injustice against one of their own. But the consequences can be averted if Dagogo is immediately released and allowed to continue the pursuit of his quest to become Governor of Rivers State,” he declared.

PoliticsTimi Frank Urges EFCC, ICPC To Probe $3.7bn Repair Cost On ‘dead’ Refineries by Itopalucky(op): 3:23pm On Apr 24, 2022
Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, on Sunday, called on the nation’s anti-graft agencies to urgently probe alleged award of $3.7billion contract to rehabilitate dead refineries.

Frank in a statement in Abuja strongly condemned the award of the said $3.7billion contract to rehabilitate the nation’s refineries as revealed by the House of Representatives Adhoc Committee investigating the state of refineries in the country.

He described the sum of the contract as an unimaginable heist and brutal looting of the nation’s financial resources under President Muhammadu Buhari’s watch in a country where average Nigerians can no longer afford one meal per day.

He also condemned the refusal of the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, Mele Kyari and other officials from appearing before a statutory committee of the National Assembly to explain why and how such colossal amount were earmarked to service moribund

He called on the EFCC and ICPC to wake up from their slumber by arresting and prosecuting all those involved in the nauseating contract scandal.

He insisted that the sum has either been grossly mismanaged, outrightly stolen or about to be looted.

He wondered why cases of mismanagement, corruption and abuse of office will continue to recur under the watch of General Buhari, a self contest anti-corruption czar and who was in 2018 conferred with the African Union’s Anti-corruption Award.

“Since 2015 till date, Buhari has been the substantive Minister of Petroleum and he cannot claim ignorance of the award of this bizarre contract.

“It is benumbing that despite revelation by Mr Tony Elumelu that 95 per cent of oil production in Nigeria is being stolen, Buhari who is in charge as Minister of Petroleum has not deemed it necessary to go after the thieves or order anti-corruption agencies to go after the evil cartel stealing the nation’s crude oil.

“When will Buhari truly fight corruption in Nigeria? Will it be after he leaves office in May 2023?” he said.

He insisted that money being frivolous stolen by those in positions of authority in the name of maintaining apparently dead refineries and payment of subsidies since 2015 could have helped the country to build over three new modern refineries.

He said: “Today, Dangote is building a 650,000 barrels per day (bpd) oil refinery in Lekki at an estimated cost of $19billion. However, as at September 2013, it was estimated to cost about $9billion.

“Similarly, as at October 2013, Uganda announced that it plans to build a 60,000 barrels per day oil refinery at an estimated to cost $2.5billion.

“This means that between May 2015 and April 2022 that APC has been on the driving seat of governance, money spent to ‘repair’ the nation’s antiquated refineries, most especially the recent rehabilitation contract of $3.7billion and the N4trillion earmarked for fuel subsidy in the 2022 budget, would have been enough to build at least a new 100,000 barrels per day refinery in the country.

“Today, the price of crude oil has shot up due to Russia invasion of Ukraine, but Nigeria cannot benefit from the windfall being enjoyed by other oil producing countries because of its over dependence on refined products being imported with borrowed funds.”

He warned the House of Representatives against any form of compromise in its ongoing probe and urged it to employ all constitutional means to compel all invited officials to appear before it.

“This is one issue we will follow up keenly to ensure that it is not compromised or swept under the carpet. The National Assembly, especially the House of Representatives’ Adhoc Committee chaired by Hon. Ganiyu Johnson, must ensure that they get to the root of this monumental sleaze or else Nigerians will not forgive them should they decide to sell out to thieving officials to frustrate the probe,” he said.

He added: “This was how these same persons colluded and imported toxic fuel into the country that damaged millions of car engines and up till now nobody has been held accountable for that unpatriotic act.”

He wondered why monies always go missing anytime Buhari is in charge of Petroleum ministry.

“This was how a humongous amount went missing under his watch as then head of petroleum ministry. Today, $3.7billlion is being spent in suspicious manner under his watch,” he said.

He called on the President to ensure that those responsible are made to account for their deeds saying the next government would not fail to unravel the truth should he fail to act now.

PoliticsTimi Frank Condemns APC Over N100m Presidential Nomination Form by Itopalucky(op): 5:11pm On Apr 21, 2022
…Ask Buhari To Meet ASUU's N200bn Demand

Erstwhile Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, on Thursday, condemned the N100million fee for the party's presidential nomination form, describing it as a “clear depiction of deepened arrogance in both corruption and governance.”

This is even as he called on President Muhammadu Buhari to quickly prioritise the nation’s tertiary education sector which is now lying comatose by paying the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) the N200billion they have demanded so that normalcy can return to universities in the country.

Frank, in a statement in Abuja, lamented what he called the “insensitivity of the APC”, even as he accused the party of reaping from the cesspool of corruption it had enthroned in the country and thus entrenching insensitivity like never witnessed in the country.

"It is unfortunate that in a country where hunger, strife, unemployment, insecurity, disunity, economic hardship, decaying educational system and dwindling standard of living has become normal act of state policy, the APC has slammed a N100million price tag on Nigerians wishing to vie for the presidency on its platform.

"The moral question that many Nigerians are asking is: How much is the salary of those aiming to buy the APC’s presidential nomination forms?

“Again, before venturing into politics and probably even attaining their present offices in 2015, how many of these aspirants were known multi-millionaires? How many of these aspirants before 2015 had any business(es) yielding dividends and who are employers of labour? How many?

"What the APC has done is that it is taking advantage of the very rot they have entrenched in the system and reaping from the corruption that has turned its aspirants to overnight multi-millionaires.

“Afterall, if in 2015, its then Presidential candidate - President Muhammadu Buhari - lamented the N20million cost of nomination form, saying he didn't have the money, what changed suddenly for the APC and its aspirants that today the same President and leadership have no qualms selling nomination forms for N100million?

“If it is argued that it is strictly a party affair, didn't the same President direct leadership change in the APC recently?” Frank queried.

Frank, a rights activist, said it was unfortunate that while hardship pervades the country and universities are shut due to strike by ASUU, due to poor management and insensitivity on the part of the APC-led government, the party is only interested in deliberately raking billions from aspirations of Nigerians even when they know that they are brazenly encouraging theft and stealing of taxpayers’ money.

“As for governors, ministers and the Vice President who are contesting, none can boast of a salary package worth more than N1.5million per month except for those with questionable sources of wealth.

“All over the country, on daily basis, victims of kidnapping are put on the edge of their lives as their loved ones bleed to pay ransom to terrorists. As this vexatious situation goes on, the APC’s administration looks the other way and pretends to be oblivious of such crimes.

“Needless to state that it also amounts to same criminality for the APC to place such ridiculous price tag on Nigerians wishing to exercise their rights to vie for leadership positions," Frank added.

Comrade Frank said the continued stay of students at home as a result of the ASUU strike is breeding disaster for the country by paving way for students to resort to desperate nefarious acts.

"Given the wanton looting of resources that has taken place in this country since the APC took over in 2015, one individual alone in this corrupt government can afford to pay the N200billion that ASUU is demanding without bating an eye," Frank said.

He called on the APC-led government to quickly mobiise funds and settle its rift with ASUU instead of only being concerned with party capitalism and political entrepreneurship it is now foisting on Nigeria's democratic system.

Politics2023: Reno Omokri Criticizes Yemi Osinbajo Over Presidential Declaration by Itopalucky(op): 1:34pm On Apr 11, 2022
Former Presidential spokesperson and author, Reno Omokri has on Monday weighed in on the presidential declaration of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo. He criticized the Vice President over the failures of the current administration whose Vice President he is. In the statement titled “My Take on Osinbajo’s Declaration”, Reno Omokri said;

“1. Osinbajo’s declaration speech was watery and baseless. First of all, how could he say he is running to “complete the task” that Buhari started? Buhari stated extreme poverty and overwhelming security for Nigeria. Under Buhari, our country’s debt has grown from ₦12 trillion in 2015, to almost ₦50 trillion this year (if the new ₦6 trillion loan requests are granted. If Osinbajo is running to “complete” that, then he is running to completely destroy what is left of Nigeria!

“2. Osinbajo said he is running to “provide jobs for millions”. Those were his exact words. The fellow has been in charge of Nigeria’s economy for the last seven years, according to Buhari, who boasted that Osinbajo heads his economic management team . Yet, Nigerians have lost jobs created by other administrations. His job record is FAILURE! Nigeria has less jobs now, than in 2015, and our unemployment rate has increased from 12% in 2015, to 33% according to the National Bureau of Statistics.

“3. Osinbajo said he wants to “birth the expectations of greatness” for Nigeria. Under his leadership of Buhari’s economic management team, Nigeria became the world headquarters for extreme poverty. We do not need Osinbajo’s type of ‘expectation’!

“4. Osinbajo in his declaration speech said he “remained focused on securing the country”. That is an insult to the intelligence of Nigerians. Under Osinbajo and Buhari, Nigeria became the 3rd most insecure nation on Earth. Only Iraq and Afghanistan are worse than us. We just witnessed a train bombing and the abduction of over a hundred Nigerians who are still with terrorists. Over 700 of our soldiers have been killed in the last 18 months. If that is what Osinbajo’s focus produces, then we don’t need it!

“5. For years, Osinbajo has been posing as an intellectual. So, at the very least, we expected his declaration speech to be filled with his achievements in office. But it was instead filled with promises. Empty promises. Because he and Buhari have no achievements to show for their wasted seven years!

“6. Osinbajo fooled us with his empty promises in 2015. Now, he is making new promises. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Don’t forget how he was doing Trader Moni during the last elections. Did he not abandon it after he and Buhari rigged themselves to a second term?

“7. In summary, Osinbajo’s declaration speech was as short as him, because he has no achievements, no plans, no priorities. The only thing he has are promises. And let us not forget that this was the same man who promised to create 3 million jobs annually. The best predictor of future behaviour is past behaviour. And Osinbajo’s past betrays him as an echo of Buhari’s cluelessness!”

PoliticsTimi Frank To Buhari: It Is Better You Sell Nigeria Than Take Fresh N6tr Loan by Itopalucky(op): 4:17pm On Apr 10, 2022
Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, on Sunday, condemned plans by President Muhammadu Buhari’s regime to borrow another N6trillion.

According to the political activist, it is better for Buhari to sell Nigeria as an entity than to continue to take loans thereby perpetually enslaving Nigerians.

The fresh loan, according to Buhari in a letter to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, is meant to finance deficit in the 2022 budget.

Buhari’s letter reads in part: “As you are aware Mr Speaker, the new development both in the global economy as well as the domestic economy has necessitated the revision of the 2022 fiscal framework on which the 2022 budget was based.

“The total budget deficit is projected to increase from N965.42 billion to N7.35 trillion representing 3.99 percent of the GDP.
“The increment of the deficit will be financed by new borrowings from the domestic market.”

Frank who is the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) Ambassador to East Africa and Middle East, in a statement in Abuja, described the move to further amass debt by Buhari as unconscionable, immoral, anti-people and anti-God.

He insisted that it is better for Buhari to sell Nigeria and share the money among APC loyalists since his appetite for both domestic and foreign borrowings appears insatiable.

He urged Buhari to know that poverty in Nigeria has grown in equal proportion with loans already taken as the true intention for the debt has not been development but to be shared through corrupt deals.

He lamented that despite the huge amount of loans already amassed by the Buhari regime the country was still ranked the poverty capital of the world, a clear evidence that the loans never benefited the poor masses or the completely knocked down nation’s economy.

“How can we have a President that only knows how to borrow with no tangible project to show for what has been borrowed.

“Nigeria today is beset by insecurity but Buhari cannot account for over N10trillion defence budget since 2015.

“Nigeria was fortunate to secure debt forgiveness and cancellation during the administration of President Olusegun Obasanjo. But Buhari has since acquired over ten times the value of Nigeria’s debt that was written off by the Bretton Woods Institutions, that is, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

“It is unfortunate that the Buhari’s regime has turned out to be the worst government since this democratic dispensation in view of its attempt to completely subjugate Nigerians to poverty by making them slaves to creditor nations and institutions across the world.

“As the 2023 general elections draw near, Nigerians are being presented with an opportunity to vote in better and credible political leaders that would help free the country from the debt burden foisted on it by the Buhari-led APC regime, and ensure genuine development of the country,” Frank said.

PoliticsGuard Your Utterances, Earl Osaro Cautions PDP Presidential Aspirants by Itopalucky(op): 4:07pm On Apr 08, 2022
The founding Director-General of the peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Director-General of Saraki campaign organization; Earl Osaro Onaiwu has called for caution amongst presidential aspirants under the platform of the PDP.

Reacting to some unruly comments by some aspirants in the race to take the top job of the presidency, Osaro warned that such reckless comments are capable of causing disunity and chaos in the party.

“There is nothing presidential about anyone who goes about disparaging other aspirants. We are here to rescue Nigeria and I believe with the qualities of personalities so far that have signified interest in running for the presidency, you can not talk down on any of them,” Mr. Onaiwu stated.

“Such unguarded utterances are capable of de-marketing our party and sends a wrong signals of disunity among the ranks of the party ahead of the general election,” he further said.

Earl Onaiwu was particular on the need for cohesion within the party to be able to win the general elections, adding that all aspirants so far are eminently qualified to rescue Nigeria from failure of leadership as occasioned by the inept and clueless APC.

“At this critical moment in the history of our country, Nigeria, all we need now is unity of purpose to rescue our country from further collapse, and not talking down on the credentials of other aspirants.

“The records of all our leaders are in the public glare. We know everyone’s antecedents and no one has the monopoly of verbal misconduct,” Osaro warned.

PoliticsSaraki Campaign DG Commends PDP Over Zoning Decision by Itopalucky(op): 10:43pm On Apr 06, 2022
… says party has shown readiness to win and rescue Nigeria in 2023

April 6, 2022

Earl Osaro Onaiwu, founding DG of PDP Governors Forum and Director-General of Saraki Presidential Campaign, has on Wednesday commended the zoning committee of the PDP as headed by the governor of Benue state, Dr. Samuel Ortom over the decision to throw the PDP presidential ticket for 2023 open to all aspirants regardless of zone.

“Indeed, the decision of the committee to jettison zoning of the presidential election is timely and historic. It affirms my strong belief that, the PDP remains the only party that puts national interests as its top priority, Earl Onaiwu noted.

The campaign DG was quoted as saying “A few days ago, I argued on the need to jettison zoning at this material time in the history of our dear nation. These are perilous times in the existence of our country and we are in dire need of leaders with capacity and the wherewithal to rescue the country.

“I also challenged us as a people to take a microscopic view into the administration that was a product of zoning and see that such arrangements have never been of benefit to Nigeria, our beloved country. It has always been detrimental to growth and development of Nigeria,” Onaiwu added.

“Nigeria is currently on the brink as a result of failure of leadership. We have never had it this bad. The free fall of Naira, the ravaging insecurity in almost all parts of the country, mutual distrust as a people, and an economy in near-comatose. It is only patriotic to allow for competent hands to test their might in the primary election.

“Desperate times call for desperate measures and I want to believe that such measures that are critical to the sustainability of our country include throwing away any form of arrangement that would hinder people from taking the bold step of aspiring, courageously, to salvage the situation of our country.

“Once again, I want to congratulate my party, the PDP and its leaders, critical stakeholders and members for this historic decision to ignore the calls for zoning,” Onaiwu concluded.
