"This year's edition is an upgraded sequel of the last four editions, which was held in Mauritius, Rwanda, Kenya, and Ethiopia, respectively. …Alleges plot to instigate violence ahead of 2027 Stakeholders and professionals in Akwa Ibom State have told the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, that his desperate plot to forcefully take over Akwa Ibom State in 2027 is a futile venture and pathetic pipedream. They have also called for an immediate unreserved apology from Senator Akpabio to the former Governor of the State, Arc. Obong Victor Attah and other past leaders, “insulted by Akpabio in his recent unwarranted outbursts”. The stakeholders, under the aegis of Akwa Ibom Professionals, counseled Akpabio to know that the people of Akwa Ibom State have already move on the path of unity, progress and development under the leadership of Governor Umo Eno and cannot be swayed by his (Akpabio’s) “self-aggrandizing and divisive antics” Akpabio reportedly told All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in a meeting that before his administration came on board in 2007, no meaningful progress or development had been experienced in any part of the State, and that he introduced dual carriage roads and other infrastructure to the State for the first time. But National Coordinator of the group, Engr. Ufot Akan Umoren, in a statement in Abuja, on Sunday, particularly slammed the Senate President for disparaging and casting aspersions on former Governor Victor Attah, describing such as an “unpardonable assault on the sensibility of the generality of the people of Akwa Ibom State” Umoren also described Akpabio’s boasting that he will take over Akwa Ibom State in 2027 as a usual empty boast reminding him that his similar threats in 2019 came to naught. The group accused Senator Akpabio of “deploying hate speech, false claims in planting seeds of discord among communities, traditional rulers, religious leaders, youth groups in a bid to overheat the polity and derail the current administration in the State for his anti-people selfish agenda” assuring, however, that “he is out for a failed venture” The Statement reads, “Senator Akpabio actions and utterances give him away as a wholesomely self-conceited human being. He has crossed the lines by disparaging the personality and performance in office of the architect of the modern Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency Obong Victor Attah, and even the pioneer indigenous governor of the State, Otuekong Idongesit Nkanga. “His unfounded claim that Akwa Ibom State never experienced real development until when he (Akpabio) became the governor in 2007 is absurd and an unacceptable spurning of the legacy and ground breaking achievements of Obong Victor Attah and other leaders which the state continues to enjoy even for generations to come. “It is on record that the foundation and masterplan for the development of Akwa Ibom State originated from Obong Victor Attah’s administration. All projects Senator Akpabio can boast of as governor of Akwa Ibom are all rooted in the Attah administration. “Governor Attah initiated, conceptualized and commenced execution of major landmark projects including the Ibom Airport, major highways, dualization projects, gas processing projects, the Ibom Icon and Golf Course and array of legacy projects which continues to serve the people of Akwa Ibom State for generations to come. “Above all, the fight for the derivative funding, which the State is enjoying today, was spearheaded by Obong Victor Attah. “Senator Akpabio served under Governor Attah’s government as a commissioner for six years. Who was he before Governor Attah picked him and allowed him the opportunities he leveraged on to become a governor? Akpabio is a wholesome example of the proverbial destitute child that bites the fingers that fed him. It is appalling that after benefitting from Akwa Ibom State, instead of joining hands with other leaders to move the State to the next level under the current administration of Governor Umo Eno, Akpabio is rather going about and making unguarded, inciting and divisive political statements that have the capacity to cause crisis and destabilize the State. “We challenge Senator Akpabio to point to any achievement he made as Senate Minority Leader for four years; as Minister of Niger Delta Affairs for four years and now Senate President. He should mention one idea he had ever contributed to help the Economy of our nation, Nigeria. Of course, he has nothing to point to. “We counsel Senator Akpabio to retrace his steps by tendering an unreserved apology to Obong Victor Attah, other leaders, the government and people of Akwa Ibom State as we will not hesitate to resist further attempts to divide the state with ethnic seeds of discord. “Akpabio should also respect the Will of the people as symbolized in the election of Governor Eno, concentrate on his duties in Abuja as Senate President, and stop huffing around Akwa Ibom State,” the group stated.

Andrew Enantomhen, an Edo State grassroots politician and social crusader has told all Governorship aspirants for the Edo State Governorship race to appreciate the place of the youths in governance. He made this point when he spoke on a recent radio programme in Edo State. At the radio programme he commented on the emerging issues in the build up to the forthcoming primary elections of the various political parties in the race for the Number One Office in the State, the Office of Governor of Edo State. He also spoke about the place of Edo in Diaspora, saying "if you undermine Edo people in Diaspora you do so at your own peril, if you under-rate Edo people in Diaspora you are out of the race." Andrew Enantomhen also used the time to criticize Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu who said if he is Governor of Edo State he will only work with elderly people, a statement that many including Andrew Enantomhen consider an affront on the youths in the State. Andrew Enantomhen made it clear that the youths of Edo State will work for only aspirants that will want to have youths in Government. Andrew Enantomhen also criticised Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu for being insensitive towards the political mood in the State with his ambition to be Governor at all cost. Andrew Enantomhen emphasized that Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu is already from the same region and village as former Governor Adams Oshiomhole and that Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu should rather go and contest for the Senate against former Governor now Senator Adams Oshiomhole and allow the Governorship seat to rotate than attempt to disturb the Governorship seat rotation need. Andrew Enantomhen said the people of Edo State at a time like this need a Governor who has a life outside of Government, someone who has done greatly in private life already. "As a State, we know the quality of what we need in our next Governor. need someone who can attract investors, someone who has private sector experience, someone that has built a good profile in the industry sector. We need a governor who will help industrialize Edo State and consolidate on the existing achievements of Governor Godwin Obaseki," Andrew Enantomhen further said. January 13, 2024 The former National Legal Adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Emmanuel Enoidem, SAN, has called on the President of Nigeria, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCON, to cut down the cost of governance by merging agencies and parastatals with overlapping and duplicated functions within the federal government. Enoidem’s call for cutting the cost of governance came after President Tinubu announced the dissolution of boards of some government commissions, parastatals and agencies especially as he begins the process of reconstituting those boards. Enoidem, a former Commissioner for Housing and Urban Renewal, Special Duties and then Trade, Commerce and Investment in Akwa Ibom state, commended President Tinubu for the recent announcement of a policy to drive down government expenditures, by reducing the number of aides who travel with top government officials by 60%. Enoidem reasons that the cut in the travelling costs is an eloquent acknowledgement that there is a dying and compelling need to reduce the cost of governance which is extremely bloated. However, he argued that such reforms should not just be mere lip service to excite the people but should be implemented, institutionalized and deepened. The learned silk pointed out that several agencies, departments, parastatals and commissions within the federal bureaucracy are wasteful duplications which should either be merged or scrapped for efficiency, effectiveness and improved performance. Given our peculiar economic circumstances cutting the cost of governance should be given a premium far higher than any political consideration or political patronage. This is so because a stability of the economy will benefit Nigeria and Nigerians. “For example, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), and Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC) should all be merged to avoid duplicity and ultimately cut down on cost" Emanuel Enoidem argued. The Senior Advocate of Nigeria further said: "at a time like this when Nigeria has become the poverty capital of the world; when we have the highest number of out-of-school children; when insecurity is ravaging the country, when unemployment is peaking, when hardships have become the order of the day and the economy is almost totally comatose, it is imperative for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to cut unnecessary expenditures and channel such funds into areas that need urgent attention and funding". "The President must, as a matter of urgency, take governance seriously by blocking every leakage and putting every Naira to judicious and efficient use. Given the level of corruption/kleptomania in the early part of the government, the TSA policy must be revisited as a matter of priority and urgency” Enoidem concluded.

.....accuses politicians and military hierarchy of conspiracy "The Chief Of Naval Staff visit to the Governor of Bayelsa State and the call for the cancellation of the surveillance contract awarded to Tantita Security Services is not a coincidence. If the navy and other security agencies are patriotic and diligent enough to halt oil and gas theft in the country, the federal government wouldn't have engaged the service of Tantita. Perhaps the government realised the essentiality in engaging an indigenous outfit like Tantita to help salvage the situation. NEITI disclosed that from 2017 to 2021, Nigeria recorded 7,143 cases of pipeline breakages and deliberate vandalism resulting in crude theft and product losses of 208.639 million barrels valued at $12.74m or N4. 325tn. "Since Tantita came on board, the impacts have been glaring. They've drastically curbed oil thefts and secured a host of the country's assets. I realised that those perpetuating illegalities are actually the ones crying dirty about Tantita exploits. How do you explain a situation where a PDP chairman in Bayelsa, Solomon Agwana AKA 'Chemical Ali' lives practically on illegally stolen crude, refine it, and sell to same Government?" An X user said. "The primary job of any state governor is to protect the lives and properties of its citizens. That doesn’t seem to apply to Governor Diri. Rather, it has been endangering the lives and properties of the region. We are very much aware of some of the roles these south-south governors play in the region's illegality. The main guys perpetuating oil theft across States line are boys and partners to these governors. We must open our eyes to the reality around. I rest my case!" He further said. By S.T Yenge Esq The recent pronouncements of the apex court in respect of the governorship election matters from various states of the federation are highly commendable. The verdicts of the pinnacle court involving different political parties ushered in a renewed hope for better democratic ethos in Nigeria. Indeed, the Nigerian democracy is always strengthened by the top court of the land and the Court has done it again. A critical look at the decisions of the apex court for sometime now save in few cases demonstrated wisdom with a broader spectrum of national cohesion, paying less attention to sentiments and sympathy of the disputing parties. The apex court in most cases appears to understand the Nigerian society and its intricacies more than the courts below which apparently supposed to be closer to the local operation of the society than the apex court. Recently, the apex court reached several decisions deprecating the conversion of civil cases to criminal cases by the prosecuting agencies. The intervention of the apex court in that respect was equally timely because the lower courts' decisions permitted and sanctioned such dimension of prosecuting and convicting persons who breach contracts and other civil engagements. The popular offence imitated is always criminal breach of trust. This is indeed a new trend going on in Nigeria where civil matters like recovery of debts, enforcement of contracts, land disputes etc are now purposely crafted with criminal apparels by some lawyers or security agents to intimidate innocent business partners. There are so many areas where the apex court must be commended for taking bold steps for the protection and preservation of the rights of Nigerians and democratic values above the narrow interest of parties at present. In the recent verdicts of the apex court in reshaping the electoral jurisprudence affecting the governorship elections, no one would doubt the role of the court in strengthening democracy in Nigeria. Nigerian Government critic, Jackson Ude has on Saturday accused Nigeria's Humanitarian Minister of looting N12Billion within her 6months in office. In a post on X titled "HOW BETA EDU LOOTED N12BILLION FROM THE HUMANITARIAN/POVERTY ALLEVIATION MINISTRY IN 6 MONTHS PT1", Jackson Ude alleged that "Beta Edu, the Humanitarian and Poverty Alleviation Minister, in about six months has looted nearly N16billion meant for the poor from her ministry." "Where did the money go?" He asked. "Beta bought herself a mansion in Aso Drive for N1.5billion. Built a multimillion Naira palatial home in Abi Local Government, Cross River State within 3 months. She regularly chatters private jets for personal and official business. To cover her track, Edu has refused to produce all the BVN and NIM numbers of her so-called beneficiaries. "This is just a tip of what Edu has stolen. Watch out from tomorrow for details of all her looting activities in her ministry," Jackson Ude further said. As activities begin to hit top gear in the preparation for the 2024 Edo State Governorship election, Andrew Enantomhen has predicted that Asue Ighodalo will emerge as the candidate of the PDP for the election and will go on to emerge as the next Governor of Edo State. While speaking about the odds and the chances of the PDP in the election, Andrew Enantomhen maintained that "the best man to fly the flag of the PDP and fly it to victory is Asue Ighodalo." "Asue Ighodalo is so popular and accepted so much so that even fellow aspirants are stepping down for him already. "Among the locals, Asue Ighodalo is loved, popular and accepted. "More information on the $6.23million meant for 'Foreign Election Observers Mission,' stolen from the Abuja branch of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, has revealed that former President Mohammadu Buhari’s PA, Sabiu Yusuf aka Tunde, got a share of $1million. He is said to have made refunds," Jackson Ude said on Friday night. "Yusuf is one of the Government officials who allegedly forged the letter of the former President authorizing the release of the funds from the CBN. Eric Odo-Ochoeme, an aide of the former CBN Governor, is one of the accomplices in the deal. He is currently on the run. "Abdulwaheed Mohammed who was detained in connection with the theft has refunded his own share. He confessed to the crime. He has also been released from detention after making confessional statements. Bashirdeen Mohammed Maisanu, an Assistant Director in CBN who facilitated the looting, has also refunded his share. January 5, 2024 Africa Youth Leadership Initiative (AYLI) has condemned the inhuman treatment meted out to Ms. Shalimar Abbuisi, a Belgian citizen, by the Ghanian Government, in the strongest terms possible. The Initiative is alarmed by the gradual descent of African states—more recently, the unfortunate situation in Ghana— into banana republic where there seem to be zero tolerance for dissents leading to abuse of human rights of the citizens. The Initiative wishes to draw the attention of the world, especially the United Nations (UN), African Union (AU) and ECOWAS to the infringement of the human rights of a Belgian citizen by the name Shalimar Abbuisi, who is also a resident of Ghana. The Initiative maintains that the rights of Ms Shalimar, a former Belgian beauty pageant and an OAP, were completely violated. The charges against her were hilarious at best. The Ghanian Government simply proved that human rights and the rights of foreigners don't matter to Ghana as a country. The forceful repatriation of Ms Shalimar Abbuisi was said to have happened on December 19, 2023 when she was forcefully returned to her native Belgium on Air Brussels Flight No. SN 319. Ms. Abbuisi’s involvement in charity work and her passion for humanity led her to engage in various humanitarian initiatives in various countries of the world especially in Ghana. Ms Abbuisi's travails with the Ghanaian Government which led to her forced repatriation from Ghana began when she founded the New Force, which centered around developing not only Ghana but the entire African continent. New Force focuses on innovation, job creation, and empowering the youth. The African Youth Leadership Initiative demand that the Ghanian Government tenders an apology to Ms Shalimar Abbuisi without any further delay and to release her seized belongings forthwith.

Jackson Ude, a Nigerian Government critic and social commentator has on Thursday expressed doubt about President Tinubu's intent to repay a certain N7.3Trillion borrowed from the CBN. "The Ways and Means is Bola Tinubu’s meal pot. That is where he goes to steal as much as he wants. In six months, he has collected N7.3trillion. And he is not done. Ways and Means is an account domiciled with the Central Bank of Nigeria where Government goes to borrow to fund projects. They are supposed, by laws to pay back. "So far, in six months with nothing visible to show, Tinubu and his gang of cro*ks have collected N7.3Trillion from the Ways and Means and they want more. Ironically, they are punishing members of the Mohammadu Buhari’s administration for stealing from the Ways and Means," Jackson Ude said in a post he made on his X page on Thursday. "To be on the safe side, he is now requesting the rubber stamp National Assembly led by cro*ks like himself for securitization of the N7.3Trillion they already cashed out. What this means is that, Tinubu and his g*ngs are not ready to pay back the N7.3trillion. They would ask for more and ask for securitization. Until they are kicked out of office, every money collected from Ways and Means would be securitized so Tinubu won’t have to pay back," Jackson Ude further said. FG, China Partner On Building New Steel Plant In Nigeria - Prince Audu Shuaibu
|
As part of efforts to industrialise Nigeria through the steel industry, the Federal Government has commenced discussions with renowned Chinese Company, Luan Steel Holding Group to build a new steel plant in Nigeria and commence the building of military hardwares in Ajaokuta Steel Plant. This formed the crux of the visit by a delegation led by the Minister of Defence, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru, CON and the Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu in their visit to Luan Steel Holding Group in Hefei and Guangzhou Regions of China. Prince Audu in a statement made available by his Special Assistant on Media, Lizzy Okoji on Thursday, stated that the trip to China is one of the steps being taken to realise the goals of reviving the steel industry in Nigeria in line with the Renewed Hope’ Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR. According to Prince Audu, work has commenced to create an operational steel industry that would attract billions of dollars of foreign direct investments into the country, open up the nation’s economy, and create hundred of thousands of job opportunities, which form the core of the renewed hope agenda. The Minister of Steel Development further noted that building military hardwares in Ajaokuta Steel Plant is also timely, considering that Nigeria is faced with security challenges. Adding that, this would help in the fight against insecurity and terrorism. “We had very meaningful discussions with the Chairman of Luan Steel Holding Group, Mr Wang Jianbing, the Chief Executive Officer of the Company, Mr Xiao Weizhan, and other senior executives of the Luan Steel Holding Group. “Like several other international and local investors, Luan Steel Holding Group has indicated interest in setting up a new steel plant in Nigeria, as well as handling a component of the Ajaokuta Steel Plant for building military hardwares in Nigeria. “The Minister of Defence and I led this delegation, which includes the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Steel Development, Dr Mary Ogbe, Sole Administrator/Managing Director of Ajaokuta Steel Company, Mr Sumaila Abdul-Akaba, to enable us have a first-hand look at the Luan steel plants before arriving at a decision. “So many prospective investors have also shown interest in coming on board with the 'renewed hope’ administration to develop the Nigeria Steel Industry which is a priority for Mr. President. “With all the commitments on ground, we are optimistic that before the end of President Tinubu’s administration, we will commence commercial steel production in some of the government owned entities in Nigeria,” Audu stated. Jackson Ude on Wednesday criticised a N32billion church project by the Akwa Ibom State Government. In a post on X he titled "THE FOOLISHNESS IN OUR RELIGIOUS MENTALITY", Jackson said; Nigerians are very religious people. They can pray 365days a year for the same things politicians were elected to do. They would even pray for their political leaders to loot and embezzle resources, forge certificates, and commit all manner of criminalities. They would have their eyes closed in prayers, soaked in their religious beliefs while Politicians cash out. "Politicians now know that Nigerian 'mumu button' is religion. They have been pressing that button for long, keeping the people as “mumu.” They would rather build you Churches and Mosques, send you there to continue praying while they loot your resources and live large. They have the GOs as accomplices! "Akwa Ibom State, a very rich oil state spent N32.3bn in building a Church when citizens continue to live in poverty with no jobs. "Meanwhile, a Syringe manufacturing company is about to leave the state six years after it opened," Jackson said. "The quality of men who find their ways into leadership positions in Nigeria is reason why building churches and mosques would become priority projects instead of attracting investment and empowering entrepreneurs. "Religion is indeed the opium of the Nigerian people. They have smoked it so much and have become foolish!" Jackson further said.

According to the Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana has repatriated New Force Spokesperson Ms. Shalimar Abbiusi to Belgium after her residence permit had been revoked by the Comptroller-General as she had obtained the students’ residence permit by fraudulent misrepresentation. According to reports, the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) recently took the decisive action to uphold immigration laws in the country, in which it arrested and subsequently repatriated Shalimar Abbuisi, a Belgian national. "Ms. Abbuisi’s activities on social media, where she identified herself as the spokesperson of a new political group called The New Force, caught the attention of the GIS. "Upon investigation, it was discovered that Ms. Abbuisi was residing in Ghana on a student permit, supposedly to attend a private university. However, further inquiries revealed that she was not a student at the mentioned institution. The university itself confirmed this by writing to the GIS. This raised suspicions that Ms. Abbuisi had obtained her permit by fraudulent means, leading to her arrest for further investigation," the report said. "On December 7th, 2023, Ms. Abbuisi was arraigned before the court and subsequently remanded. However, on a later court date, she was granted bail, allowing the prosecution to proceed with their case. Surprisingly, the charges against her were later withdrawn, resulting in her discharge by the court on December 19th, 2023. "Despite this turn of events, Ms. Abbuisi’s troubles did not end there. The GIS re-arrested her after revoking her residence permit, citing Section 20 (2)(a) of the Immigration Act, 2000, Act 573. As it was found that she had obtained her student permit through fraudulent misrepresentation, the law prohibited her from remaining in Ghana. Thus, the Comptroller General ordered her removal from the country. "In accordance with this order, on December 19th, 2023, Ms. Abbuisi was repatriated aboard Air Brussels Flight No. SN 319, back to her home country," the report further said. "The GIS seizes this opportunity to caution all foreign nationals residing in Ghana to strictly adhere to the country’s immigration laws. Any infringement will be met with prosecution. The GIS underscores its commitment to rigorously enforcing these laws to eradicate the presence of undocumented individuals that pose a threat to national security. "By taking swift action in this case, the Ghana Immigration Service has demonstrated its proactive approach to upholding immigration laws in the country, ensuring a more secure and controlled environment for all residents and visitors alike," the Ghanian Immigration Service said.

In a post on X on Tuesday, January 2, 2024; titled "DSS, HER FAILED ATTEMPTS TO HACK INTO MY PHONE AND THE ILLEGAL PROMOTION AND STAGNATION CAUSING ANGER IN THE AGENCY" Jackson Ude has accused the DSS of trying to hack into his phone. "I have received notifications and have observed several attempts by the rogue Department of State Security, DSS, to break into my phone and steal information which they hope will lead them to ascertain how I get my information on happenings in the agency and Nigeria. "Bassey Etteng, a former Director of Operations who retired from the DSS few years ago and joined the All Progressive Congress, APC, where he served as a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, is leading the team of rogue hackers to hack my phone and trace my sources. In 2020, Etteng. Peter Afunaya and I had it rough over the phone over my continuous expose of corruption in Nigeria. "While they have and would continue to fail in that attempt, let me state that the DSS efforts is illegal, criminal and a violation. Under the Section 702 of the U.S Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, an American citizen cannot be a target of surveillance by a foreign agency. An American phone number or line cannot be a subject of surveillance. Not even the FBI or CIA or any U.S government agency has the powers to subject my phone line under surveillance. I have not committed any crime other than being an investigative Journalist! "Now, what is my issue with the DSS? The agency has become a political tool in the hands of the Government in power. It is now a Department under the All Progressive Congress, APC, used to haunt opposition politicians or Journalists," Jackson Ude said. "While the Director General of the DSS and his family members continue to abuse the agency, there is anger amongst the rank and file over illegal promotions and stagnations. "From a DSS signal in my possession, Bola Tinubu’s Chief Security officer, CSO, Adegboyega Fasasi, was recently promoted to DIS. This means that under one year, he has moved from Assistant Internal Security (ADIS) to DDIS (Deputy Director Internal Security) now to DIS (Director Internal Security), moving ahead of his peers and his superiors. This, has further dampened the morale of men and women in the agency. They said the agency has never had it this bad in its history. "Fasasi was in June 2023 June promoted from ADIS to DDIS now to DIS. He has now been promoted ahead of his mates as Director Internal Security, DIS. DSS sources say the DG is position Fasasi as his replacement to cover all his illegalities. "This has dampen the morale of very senior officers on that rank as Directors and Deputy's as their junior has now risen to become their senior. "Insiders confided that Bichi’s plan is to have Fasasi promoted again next year to Assist Director General (ADG) in 2014 to become senior to all the seniors in the agency. Fasasi is pushing for Bola Tinubu to keep Bichi for another year so by then he would have attained the rank of ADG to take over as DG. "Aside the illegal promotions going on in DSS, Bichi has continued to retain retired officers in different positions, making it impossible for serving officer to rise in ranks. "Out of the 36 states commands, not less than eight Directors are retired.including the current Director of Operations. In the case of the Director of Operations, personnel no longer want to take instructions from him because if anything goes wrong, he can deny because he retired more than a year ago. "The existence of Retired Directors in the agency has continued to cause decrease in posting of Directors as the retired are the ones occupying various positions, leaving less space for those still in active service. "The DG’s Chief Security Officer, CSO, retired 2 years ago but on nominal roll of DSS as serving member. He is the one who does the supply substandard arms from Pakistan for the agency including the Drones and Arms the DG claimed were being produced at the Institute of Security Services, ISS, Bwari," Jackson Ude further said. Former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel, has tipped Governor Umo Eno to surpass his records in office as Governor of Akwa Ibom State, saying he will support him all the way to attain the feat. Mr Emmanuel said one of the secrets of his successful reign as Governor is the support he got from Christian fathers in the State and has expressed happiness that they are extending the same to his successor. At a New Year State service to usher in 2024 in Akwa Ibom State, Mr Emmanuel said , “I don't have any doubt or fear, I still stand on what I said from Day One that you'll do 200 times better than me in all ramifications and God will give you the enablement and capacity to make that happen.” Allaying fears on the capacity of his successor, Mr Emmanuel stated that, “when God sends you, he gives transportation money. He equips, he gives you the capacity, and he gives you everything to keep it up and running.” Thanking Akwa Ibom people for their support to Governor Eno, he maintained that the unity of the State must be upheld. The former Governor said further, “I don't have any doubt or fear, I still stand on what I said from Day One that you'll do many times better than me in all ramifications and God will give you the enablement and capacity to make that happen.” Let me thank the youth, women, elders, and all those who believed in us. I believe that as the Preacher today said, we need one mind, and we must be strengthened together. The governor alone can not do it. “May God unite all of us together, strengthen us as a people to know that Akwa Ibom is beyond one man.” He thanked the governor for inviting him to come and join in the celebration. Relishing on the vision behind the worship center, Mr Emmanuel said he was moved by that fact that despite being named after God, the State had no befitting place of worship. “Probably today, we would have been under the sun, but we now have a place that we can all gather, an altar where we can gather to worship God.” “I remember in one of my commissioning, I made a statement that the birds have their nest in the air but we christians do not have a place to worship but today,we give God all the glory. “Thank you, our Governor, for making this day a success. “I want to use this opportunity to sincerely thank the Fathers of Faith. Once there is a king succeeding, watch the back, and you'll see a priest. “I really want to thank them. These are the priests that really backed me and are backing you up also. “I can guarantee you that all of us will give you the support you need. “ “Once again, I stand here to give God all the glory for energizing and the sustainance of our beloved Governor , Our leader, that God has graciously given to us at a time like this. The same God that raised him up will sustain him no matter what happens. God does not send someone on an errand and forsake him”, Udom added. In his remarks at the event, Governor Eno expressed delight over the array of attendees and venue of the event, which he described as, not just a Worship Centre but a tourist attraction, particularly expressing gratitude for having the immediate past governor and initiator of the Worship Centre project at the event. The governor assured that he would ensure the maintenance of the facility as a valuable asset of the state and to maintain the spiritual component of the Worship Centre as an altar of the State, by daily prayers in the centre throughout the year. He therefore announced the appointment of the Uyo Field Superintendent of the Apostolic Church, Pastor Ime George, as coordinator of the prayer roaster and Rev. Hilkiah Eliatha as Secretary, as well as a technical crew to maintain the facility. The event had in attendance clergymen across various denominations, government officials in the State and from the Federal Government, including the Minister of State for Petroleum, (Gas), Obong Emem Ekperikpe Ekpo, Senator Ita Enang and Commissioner of the NDDC from Akwa Ibom State, among others, as well as sociocultural groups and people from all walks of life, who jointly offered praises, worship and prayers for the state, country and leaders at various levels of governance.

I give gratitude to Almighty Allah for the successful completion of 2023 and felicitate with His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR as well as Nigerians worldwide on the beginning of a new year 2024. 2023 ushered in a new era of ‘Renewed Hope’ under the leadership of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, with an eight-point agenda focused on Nigeria’s economic prosperity, job creation, poverty alleviation, as well as tackling the numerous security challenges, amongst other plans. At the core of the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ is the revitalization of the steel industry in Nigeria, which prompted the creation of the Ministry of Steel Development by Mr. President in August 2023 with a core mandate. 2024 presents a new and unique opportunity for the industrialisation of Nigeria and the revival of our steel industry, with steps already being taken towards achieving these goals across the country. A roadmap will be designed in early 2024 for the resuscitation of the steel industry: a five-year plan for Nigeria’s steel sector revival and a three-year plan for the Ajaokuta steel plant. Our goal is to create over 500,000 jobs for Nigerians within an operational steel industry before the end of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR 2nd term in office. This particular vision is already being realised, with close to 200 youths already engaged in the steel industry across the country in my first 4 months in office. More will be done in this regard. In addition, International investors have shown firm commitments to invest billions of dollars in developing Nigeria’s steel industry and building new plants following President Tinubu’s efforts to secure investments for the steel industry in Nigeria at gatherings of World Political and Business Leaders including the recently held G20 summit in Dehli, India. The Ministry of Steel Development is working assiduously to create a favourable operating environment for investors (both local and foreign). Government levies also need to be increased on importation of Steel into the country as measures to ensure import substitution, amongst other positive measures are put in place. I thank His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR once again for giving me the opportunity to serve our great country, Nigeria. A lot of work needs to be done to revive a challenging and ailing industry, and by the special grace of God, we will rise to the occasion in delivering the President’s vision for the Steel Industry in Nigeria. I wish you all a happy and prosperous 2024 filled with good health, peace, and progress. Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu Honourable Minister of Steel Development Federal Republic of Nigeria. HE Governor Akeredolu was a man of principles, an activist of positive thinking, a progressive mind, a fearless political leader and a dogged fighter of just causes. My first encounter with Governor Akeredolu SAN was between 2011 and 2012 at the Supreme Court when he was prosecuting the governorship election petition emanating from Benue state. I was not from his legal team but I was overwhelmed by his dedication and absolute commitment to the pursuit of his case. His doggedness and fearlessness at the apex court in an apparently hopelessly situation was unprecedented. I started relating directly with HE Akeredolu SAN between 2014 and 2015 when he was the National Legal Adviser of the APC as his volunteered research assistant. I noticed that all my opinions supported by law were implemented by the APC which I sent to Akeredolu SAN. Akeredolu was a father, very simple and attended to his text messages even as a governor. He always find time to reply his email and text messages unlike other political and highly placed individuals in Nigeria. One thing I love most about HE Akeredolu SAN is that he loves God and believes so much in Him. Like in his last victory at the apex court when I sent him a congratulatory message, part of his response which I could not forget was that " ....It could only be God".I have no doubt that he is now in heaven at the expense of the world. HE Akeredolu, a senior Advocate of Nigeria,a live bencher and a former NBA President is no doubt a huge loss to the bar, bench and the entire country and most particularly his immediate family and the good people of Ondo State. My sincere condolence to President B.A Tinubu GCFR, the APC, the NGF, the NBA, the good people of Ondo Sate, his associates and friends and to his dearest family. May the gentle soul of HE Governor Rotimi Akeredolu SAN and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen. Chief S.T Yenge & family write from Abuja. "LOOTING UNDER BUHARI A CHILD’S PLAY COMPARED TO OVER N2TRILLION ALREADY LOOTED UNDER TINUBU" Jackson Ude posted on his X page on Sunday. "In the year 2020 when I first exposed the looting under the Mohammadu Buhari’s Government by the late Isa Funtua, and how he connived with Former CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele to take over Key Stone Bank, 9mobile and others including the involvement of Teleology and co, I was called a fake news peddler. In fact, they sued me and hired hatchet journalists to write rubbish in an attempt to disparage me. "Today, the same folks in APC and their urchins who attacked me over that expose, are the same celebrating same expose I did in 2020. "There is absolutely nothing to celebrate here. What Funtua and Emefiele and their friends did are not new. They are all old stories I already shared on this space long ago. "What is new is that in the last seven months of Tinubu’s reign, over N2trillion has been looted. It is not like that of the primitive looting under Buhari. This one, is an institutional looting, a class never before seen in the history of Nigeria’s democracy where cronies spread across different agencies of Government, make returns to the 'Oga at the top.' First, Tinubu cornered four oil blocks to himself using Oando Plc fronted by Wale Tinubu. This is aside the midnight sharing of returned loots by members of Buhari’s Govt.," Jackson Ude further said. "Under Tinubu’s Government, Femi Gbajabiamila is both Isa Funtua and Abba Kyari. The First Lady, Remi Tinubu, is times four of Aisha Buhari. Seyi Tinubu is both Mamman Daura and Abubakar Malami. They all have cronies spread across Ministries and Agencies of Government as Ministers or heads of agencies. "My expose so far on the looting under Tinubu has again been called “fake news.” But like the case of Isa Funtua and Emefiele, one day, another Government appointed investigator would confirm all I have exposed under Tinubu. "Until then, let the looting continue. Merry Xmas folks!" Jackson Ude concluded. Source: https://naijagg.com/jackson-ude-alleges-n2trillion-looted-under-president-tinubu-so-far/
