Politics › Re: Gumsu Abacha Slams Wole Soyinka: Your Hate For My Father Shall Kill You, Mad Cow by ItsMeAboki(m): 5:05pm On Jun 16, 2018
NOETHNICITY:
Why aren't you guys getting it?

This is why southerners find it difficult to trust the north.
Abacha was a monster who killed people in order to advance his devilish political ambition.
Obj wasn't half as monstrous as Abacha, yet his vilification and rejection by the SW has no end in sight.

Not withstanding the PTF's achievements, Abacha's brazen looting of Nigeria remains unprecedented in our nation's history, so much so that even though Billions of dollars have been recovered, yet unrecovered billions remain out there.

Yet, that is kind of person northerners (PMB inclusive) see as a hero, while you ceaselessly want SS people to despise Jonathan and somebody like Tompolo.
I'm beginning to see why am disliked by my people in the ss for speaking up against GEJ.

This re the kind of things that make this country very divided.
You are the one who seem not to be getting it:

First of all how does the alleged crime of one person warrant the castigation of the entire ppl from the region he belongs?

Secondly, the issue should not be about north and south but about a person, Abacha and what he may have or not have done as a head of state - because he was not head of the northern states but head of the Nigerian state.

Thirdly, if you had read my post carefully you would have noticed that neither I nor Buhari (in his original statement) were giving Abacha a blanket endorsement as a hero but stating the fact that he wasn't 100% all bad; because as a human being and a statesman he also had some good sides - among them the infrastructural development under PTF.

Abacha is not alive to defend himself today; he obviously had stepped on many toes and made a lot of enemies, who have had the backing of a powerful media to make strong damaging incriminating allegations against him (among them were his immediate successors and victims; Abdulsalam Abubakar, OBJ; NADECO elements, Wole Soyinka inclusive etc - still powerful and relevant today to continue their personal vendetta against him).

The popular narrative of Abacha loot had since been challenged and quashed by those in a better position to know the truth; since they were also part and parcel of the Supreme Military Council which took the joint/collective decision to stash away part of Nigeria's external reserves in hidden secret accounts away from possible hostile foreign sanctions (like was done to Libya under Gaddafi) - the likes of Generals Jeremai Useni and Bamayi have on different occasions spoken about what actually transpired; unfortunately this truer version has been suppressed and undermined by his political enemies.

Lets get this right; no one is saying Abacha was a saint let was not corrupt; however, the amount being accredited to him as purposefully stolen for himself and personal use is quite unrealistic and unfair - take it or leave it.

As for the likes of GEJ and criminal Tompolo - well, there is no comparison let alone any argument; because I really have no time to play sentiments..

Is just that Nigeria is governed by a fellow jihadist and criminal like ur father abacha....if not by now all ur family members suppose to be rotting in jail.
What a very unfortunate ignorant generalisation of a ppl who are probably the most respectful of all among Nigeria's major tribes.

@TOPIC:

I also agree that Abacha was not 100% all bad; had also had his good sides, among them being the infrastructural development (especially under PTF) which Buhari praised and was deliberately being quoted out of context as usual by his detractors.

Good afternoon nairalanders...I was discussing with my boyfriend about setting up a business, with what he has,I suggested he should go for recharge card business.he should buy the machine needed for printing recharge card.He said,he cannot do that kind of business. To me I think there is money in that business.
what do you people think about recharge card business.
Shrinking market; ppl are increasingly switching to electronic (online) rather manual (scratch/cash card) recharging - it is therefore a risky venture; unless of course you know differently.

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Arabic Controversy: CAN Youth Wing Commends JAMB by ItsMeAboki(m): 1:23am On Jun 13, 2018
It is so sad and very unfortunate that the youth wing of CAN appears to be more matured and objective than the main parent body; who all intent and purposes might as well go and register itself as a political party, more appropriately named as the 'Christian Association Party of Lies and Propaganda of Nigeria'.
Imagine coming up with such a bold face lie against a national institution like JAMB where, even by admission of the youth Wing, majority of JAMB directors are Christians (which have caused Muslims to complain, if they were also to be as petty as CAN).
If CAN were not so stupid and ignorant; how could they equate a common language to religion; do they not know that the very Arabic language they despise has already been used to translate the Bible (as there are millions of Arabs who are Christians) - and would such Bible therefore (based on their silly logic) become the Quran; since it is written in Arabic?

Just watch watch how one of their disciples (Pastor Ajisafe) is preaching hate to his gullible congregation in Church - what a shame.

I have read the story again with my brain Mr brainiard. Tell me what suggests in the story that what you read is absolutely true. Except that it was written by another mischief making blogger.
Perhaps you can start by providing the evidence that proves the story is a lie; unless of course you are saying that any crime story that doesn't show the perpetrators in action is a lie - which equally would then make all the stories showing butchered dead Benue bodies allegedly killed by herdsmen also a big lie since none of them captured any of the herdsmen actually carrying out the killings.

Politics › Re: Frame-Up: FG Issues Statement On Obasanjo's Looming 'Arrest' & 'Detention' by ItsMeAboki(m): 8:38pm On Jun 09, 2018

@POLITICSNGR

The Nigerian Government has reacted to allegations by former President Olusegun Obasanjo that the government of President Muhammadu Buhari wants to accuse him of a crime on him and detain him.

PoliticsNGR gathered that in a statement issued on Friday, the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, described Obasanjo’s allegation as a “concoction of a mind worried by guilt”.

The statement reads:

“This administration will never engage in a frame-up of innocent citizens. That is neither in the character of President Muhammadu Buhari nor in that of his administration. Only the guilty should be worried. To paraphrase an African proverb, a man who has no wife cannot lose an in-law to the cold hands of death.

“The administration is also strongly committed to the tenets of democracy, including freedom of speech and the right to dissent. But we understand that those who, in their time, were untethered to those principles would find it hard to believe.

“Apparently, the impact of this proclamation was too much to bear by those who, through acts of omission or commission, helped to deepen the wounds inflicted by the blow of injustice that followed an election that was widely acclaimed to be free, fair and credible, hence they felt the need for a red herring that will distract the nation.

“Added to that is the frustration brought about by the fact that the contraption they have so much hyped as a freeway to power has failed to gain traction. Faced with this double tragedy, even the strongest of men may begin to succumb to a figment of their imagination. They may start crying wolf where there is none.”

Those with the power of comprehension and appreciate good English would see this as a powerful knock out rejoinder to Obasanjo - Lai has completely floored him here.

The myth of Obasanjo has finally been debunked.

The baboon is reduced to clutching at straws of irrelevance; he is no longer taken seriously and therefore cannot continue to meddle in the affairs of successive governments as he used to do.

Hear him now wailing in fear of EFCC arrest like the rest of them.
