Politics › Re: Ty Danjuma's Untidy Campaign Against Pmb by ItsMeAboki(m): 10:00pm On Jun 07, 2018 |
arewaproudly: TY DANJUMA'S UNTIDY INTERNATIONAL CAMPAIGN AGAINST PRESIDENT BUHARI - Maiwada Dammallam
A careful observation of events in the country would reveal a sustained effort by some powerful forces to tarnish the image of President Buhari. Needless to say, the motive is to truncate his 2019 ambition for re-action and allow a corruption-compliant candidate to take over from him and allow the continuation of the "owambe" they know best how to dance.
A recent report revealed that the former Minister of Defence, General TY Danjuma (Rtd) has taken his protest against killings in the North Central region of Nigeria to the United States. One is left wondering what Danjuma is protesting for even if one ignore the logic of carrying his so called "protest" to the USA. Only recently TY Danjuma made weighty allegations against the Nigerian Army which the Army, in the spirit of transparency and out of respect for a retired senior colleague, set up a probe panel that investigated the allegations and made its findings public.
Funny enough, when the panel invited TY Danjuma, the author of the allegations, to come and shed more light on the allegations, he simply went missing only to resurface in USA peddling same frivolous lies. I don't want to believe that Danjuma is so senile to grasp that the solution to his real and imaginary problems are here in Nigeria and not in the hands of phantom NGO's domiciled in the USA which, by the way, are mostly business partners to unscrupulous Nigerians or partly sustained with part of loot stolen from Nigeria.
Why was TY Danjuma shy to face the panel set up by the Army to investigate his allegations yet comfortable fly half across the globe in search of solution for a non-existent problem? That he flies in the comfort of his private jet doesn't make it sensible for an old man like Danjuma to embark on such a long trip for a solution that was placed at his doorsteps by the Nigerian Army. I don't buy it! The motive was to create a phantom image of a crisis-ridden Nigeria just to distract the international community away from the laudable achievements of President Buhari and deny him the support he's enjoying from the community.
At his age and status, one could easily assume TY Danjuma is passed the level of resolving conflicts by relying on only one part of the story. Apparently he is not. His absolute silence about the achievements recorded by the Nigerian Army in reducing the capacity of Boko Haram from a formidable force that was in total control of the North East and some parts of the North West, into a decimated force with minimum capacity of attacking only soft targets should expose the mischief in his fake advocacy.
By the way, Danjuma was never in the USA to cry for the killings in Borno, Yobe, Adamawa and Kano back in the days of the previous administration even when he should know the war against Boko Haram was the biggest business of the time as the $2.3bn arms scandal of the administration has proved beyond reasonable doubt. What are his worries now that the Army is reorganized and reorientated to function professionally and in line with global standards?
That he took Governor Darius, his lapdog, on the trip was another gimmick to give the futile effort some semblance of credibility. I'm sure he will not tell the "Yankees" that Darius was there as a lackey not as an independent participant. Also, he won't tell them that back home in Nigeria, Governor Darius is seen as complicit in the killings he went to USA to blame President Buhari. That Governor Darius, according to findings of the Army panel, made several attempts to remove the Commanding Officer of 93 Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel IB Gambari from command for his refusal to be dragged into the state politics and, an equally damning report of the Chairman of Takum LGA, Shiban Tikari's several attempts to undermine the authority of the Commanding Officer 93 Bn through some officers of the unit, ordinarily, should be TY Danjuma's worries. If he's a gentleman, he shouldn't delete this evidential narrative from presentation to the international community.
Of course, TY Danjuma isn't aware of a letter written by the Attorney General of Taraba State, Yusufu Akirinkwen, to the state’s Commissioner of Police, Yakubu Babas, asking the police to release suspects in the June 2017 killings in a community in Mambilla, Sardauna Local Government Area of the State, otherwise he wouldn't drag Governor Darius halfway across the globe in a phantom search for a solution the walk around with in their pockets. A significant number of Taraba citizens believe TY Danjuma and Governor Darius are complicit (actively or passively) in the senseless killings being perpetrated in the State. For the two to go to USA to shed crocodile tears defies logic and any sense of reasoning.
The invitation extended to the USA by TY Danjuma to empower civil society to confront atrocities in Nigeria only added another dimension to the mischievous scheme to paint President Buhari black and deny him the benefit of international respect. That the campaign was taken to the USA only exposed a desperation to counter the praises lavished on President Buhari by President Trump. By the way, was Danjuma under the assumption that Trump's acknowledgement of President Buhari's achievements was spontaneous and not arrived at through verifiable, positive and unbiased narratives?
Danjuma's latching on the imaginary credibility of Amnesty International to execute a campaign against President Buhari is the worst assault to the collective sensibility of Nigerians. Like Transparency International, AI has been exposed for the tool it is in the hands of desperate politicians. Countless NGOs including Global Peace and Life Rescue Initiative, Coalition of Civil Society Groups against Terrorism in Nigeria, Coalition in Defence of Sovereignty and Human Rights and Save Africa Group and others too numerous to mention had, at different times protested against the continued presence of AI in Nigeria. Of particular interest was the protest by Coalition of Civil Society Groups against Terrorism in Nigeria which was to challenge AI for spending a whooping N10bn to sponsor its sinister motive to undermine the nation’s national security and destabilized efforts at eradicating all forms of terror and separatist activities.
No Nigerian would take Amnesty International serious after these allegations. Same goes to Transparency International. TI recently released a report that the war against corruption was neither successful nor sincere. This TI did without acknowledging the hundreds of billions retrieved from people that looted the treasury and without naming a single person arrested or taken to court without reasonable course to so. Just as much, TI failed to mention a single person that is given cover by the administration when there's reasonable ground to process him/her judicially. One should expect an institution like Transparency International not to build opinion on shallow media allegations but, their close association with Obasanjo is enough to say where they are coming from and where they are going. My thoughts exactly.

saaron: Buhari as usual in a bit to score cheap political point ended up burning himself. Its not enough to recognize MKO a President without doing the following; 1. Declare 1993 Presidential results. 2. Declare MKO the elected president in june 12, 1993 elections. 3. Declare late Gen Sani Abacha's rule illegal/null and void. Abacha's rule from 1993-1998 was Abiola's mandate. 4 Declare Sani Abacha a thief for stealing Abiola's mandate. 5. Revoke all presidential benefits given to Abacha and his family.
Until buhari does the above, he's just deceiving himself. And who told you he recognised MKO as president? Since when did granting him with the highest national honour of GCFR amounted to declaring him president? In your rush to mock Buhari you ended up instead exposing your own brand of intellectual laziness; the joke is now on you - hahahah! |

isnovic: This rebuttal is akin to most I have seen, attack the credibility of the persons involved to invalidate their outburst or criticism.
If this fails, rope them in on some far fetched corruption case.
T.Y Danjuma should watch his back as corruption case is just at the corner.
To say, the Fulanis Herdsmen are targeting Muslims is to tell a lie.
Thou some Muslims are killed, they were all collateral damage. Victims of the war.
Thou all death are sacred, their targets are non-Muslims simple.
the motive is clear.
STOP THE KILLING OF ANY LIFE-Christians especially and Muslims alike.
Track down all this Fulani Herdsmen, prosecute them plus their sponsors and outlaw all open grazing anywhere in Nigeria.
Build the Borders in the Far North and maintain our National Security from Marauders and Blood-letting race like the Fulanis Herdsmen. The like s of Danjuma do not have any credibility to destroy; he is a beneficiary of grand corruption desperately trying to protect his ill gotten cut of the national cake, in this case using the divisive sentiments of religion and ethnicity. Responsible leaders do not empty unguarded outbursts without facts to back up their statements. If Danjuma had any facts that the military was in collusion with the herdsmen he should have made them available (Nigerians are in fact still waiting) rather than keeping mute to provide same when the military conducted its investigations into those allegations - ordinarily Danjuma should have been taken to court to prove himself, given the security implications of such weighty allegations; but was instead let off lightly. Any truthful person watching the unfolding 'herdsmen/farmers' crisis would know that the crux of the problem is not about religion because the hundreds being killed in Zamfara, Katsina, Adamawa and Birnin Gwari axis of Kaduna State are not Christians but Muslims; neither is the problem based on ethnicity for the same reasons but an economic one, based on a dwindle resource; land for grazing and land for farming, which unfortunately is being politicise by a vengeful political leadership class who have lost out and therefore feel the need to discredit the current dispensation by any means - even at the expense of our nation unity through the exploitation of the above mentioned fault lines. Danjuma and the Taraba governor are therefore doing themselves and Nigeria a great disservice by going to America to sell this false narrative. If you had watched the documentary you may perhaps begin to understand the reason behind the Danjuma and Governor Darius's outbursts against the military; it was because the Army intervention had frustrated their agenda to ethnically cleanse the Fulani out of Taraba State - Brigadier General Benjamin Ahanotu, Ag. GOC 3 Division Jos, who was sent to assess/intervene by the then Ag. President Osibanjo (even though a Christian) couldn't hold back his disgust at the manner in which the local leaders connived with the killers - which he described as a genocide brutally even worse than Boko Haram because the killer militia did not spare the Fulani women and children. |

olajay86: The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, has spoken on the activities of the New Peoples Democratic Party, nPDP, a group within the ruling party.
Oyegun said members of the nPDP are only looking for a good bargain themselves, adding that they (nPDP) cannot choose this time to dump the other political parties.
He said that the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and others were only acting like people who want the best for themselves. Oyegun ruled out any possibility of the group decamping to other parties.
Oyegun told reporters, “The process is still ongoing, and until we reach an understanding with them, it won’t be right to comment, but I think we have tended to read too much that is negative into their act.
“I just have a feeling that like all people who want the best terms for themselves, they will come out at a period which they feel is advantageous to them.
“Given the state of the polity, I suppose they chose this time not because they want to leave the APC; not because they were fed up with the APC, not because they want to cause trouble with the APC, but because they want a good deal for themselves given the totality of what is going on in the party.
“So, we have accepted their protest in good faith, and we are sitting down with them to work out something that will be mutually beneficial to both interests.”

CriticMaestro: For those of u unfortunate to watch here is a summary, The suspect confessed to be a political thug for saraki and the present governor of kwara state, there main job was to disrupt elections in places that they elite deemed it will be futile to their cause....so as of the bank robbery case...they took matters into their own hands without any backing from the political class whatsoever, in fact the suspect went further to confess that the chief of staff to the governor gave them two a.k 47 to continue their political thuggery but it was actually a retired police officer that gave them 5 a.k 47 they used in carrying the robbery...out of pure greed and wickedness they planned and executed the bank robbery...the suspect said and I quote "it is the devil that made them Rob" well that's what they all say after being caught....so as many of u logical lots see no reason why a governor and a Senate president will order a bank robbery when they have abundance of wealth at their disposal....this confession proves that ur logical thinking is right.... No connection to the robbery whatsoever... Case dismissed Case not dismissed. Agreed they did not implicate them in the armed robbery but clearly implicated them in the case of political thuggery, which involved arming and sponsoring them with weapons - since when is aiding and abetting thugs with money and AK47s to cause mayhem a legal and legitimate venture? My guess is that Saraki will yet again find a way to wriggle out of this one; however, this would serve as a strong message to those in the political class about the danger of be caught pants down using political thugs. |
