THE Middle Belt Youth Coalition, MBYC, yesterday, accused Nigerian Police of plot against the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, concerning allegations leveled against him by some suspects involved in the robbery incident at some commercial banks and killing of 33 persons in Offa, Kwara State. Saraki and Idris This was contained in an address read by the National Coordinator, MBYC, Abbah Emmanuel, during a media conference held in Abuja, where Emmanuel accused the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, of deliberate attack on the person of Saraki, which also threatens the entire National Assembly. According to Emmanuel the move by police was a total frame up enveloped in conspiracy to robe the Senate President into a robbery case targeted to tarnish his image and political career.

He said: “The Middle Belt Youth Coalition is a Civil Society Organization concerned with the advancement of the general interest of the Nigerian Youths as it relates to the social, economic and political well-being of our dear country Nigeria. We believe that the health of our nation is dependent on a sustainable existence of democracy. “We have hereby observed the recent event unfolding in the country. For some time, the Executive branch of the government has been at loggerheads with the legislative branch. This has been a source of concern to the youths and general population of this country. This unwholesome state of affairs has now escalated to an unacceptable level.

“To our absolute dismay, the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Ibrahim Idris, who refused to appear before the senate to explain the incessant killings across the country has since then carried out a campaign to use the police brute force to deal with Senators. “He has now embarked on attacking the person of the Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The conspiracy is to frame the Senate President for a robbery incident. “This is clearly aimed to destroy not only the person of the Senate President but also the institution that the Senate president represents. To make matters worse, the government rather than caution the IGP, embarked on withdrawing the security aides of the presiding officers.

This is designed to make them even more vulnerable. “The latest venture will only serve to overheat the polity and destroy our hard earned democracy. If it continues unchecked, Nigeria will descend into anarchy. We therefore urge you to take immediate steps to caution this government from continuing along this unholy line.”

According him the executive arm of government has been disregarding and disrespecting fundamental norms of democracy, which he said has no regard for the National Assembly, mentioning the nomination of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Chairman, Ibrahim Magu, who was rejected but has continued to act in that capacity, arbitrary arrests of senators, recent invasion of the Senate Chamber, and refusal of the IGP to appear on the Senate floor to address the issue of insecurity and incessant killings in the country.

Argentina’s upcoming friendly with Israel in Jerusalem has been cancelled following protests by Palestinian football authorities, local media reported on Tuesday without citing sources. Lionel Messi and his team-mates were due to face Israel on Saturday in their final warm-up match before heading to Russia for the World Cup. However multiple reports in Argentina on Tuesday said the game had either already been scrapped or was soon to be. Argentine Foreign Minister Jorge Faurie did not confirm the game had been axed, but told reporters in Washington on the sidelines of the Organization of American States meeting that he believed players had been reluctant to travel to Israel for the game. “As far as I know, the players of the national team were not willing to play the game,” Faurie said.

The Argentine official said team coach Jorge Sampaoli had requested no further matches be scheduled ahead of the team’s World Cup opener against Iceland in Moscow on June 16. The Argentina Football Association did not immediately comment on the reports. If cancellation of the game is confirmed, it will mean Argentina head into the World Cup with hardly any pre-tournament match preparation.

Their only other World Cup warm-up game was a 4-0 victory over Haiti in Buenos Aires last week which resembled a training exercise. Sampaoli had last week aired misgivings about having to travel to Israel for the game, noting he would have preferred to remain in Barcelona, where the team is holding its training camp.

“From a sporting point of view, I would have preferred to play in Barcelona,” Sampaoli said. “But that’s the way it is, we have to travel on the day before the match, play Israel in Israel and then from there go on to Russia.” On Sunday, Palestinian football boss Jibril Rajoub urged Messi not to play in an Argentina-Israel game in Jerusalem and urged fans to burn their shirts if he does. At a news conference in the West Bank city of Ramallah, Rajoub told journalists he had written to Argentina’s government asking that Messi not take part in the June 9 friendly. “This match has become a political tool,” Rajoub said in Arabic.

“The Israeli government is trying to give it political significance by insisting it be held in Jerusalem.” Palestinians are outraged at US President Donald Trump’s decision last December to recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, breaking with decades of policy, and move his country’s embassy there.

The embassy opened on May 14, fanning Palestinian anger and intensifying protests on the Gaza border, with Israeli forces killing dozens at least 61 Gazans that day. Palestinians claim the eastern part of Jerusalem, annexed by Israel, as the capital of their future state.

The Jewish state considers the entire city its own “indivisible” capital. “Messi is a symbol of peace and love,” Rajoub said. “We ask him not to participate in laundering the crimes of the occupation.”

Messi, he added, “has tens of millions of fans in the Arab and Muslim countries… we ask everyone to burn their shirts which bear his name and posters (with his image).”

A Protestant pastor who was baptising followers near a lake in northern Ethiopia has been killed by a crocodile, police and residents have told BBC Amharic.

About 80 people were being baptised when Pastor Docho Eshete lost his life on Sunday morning, at the lake in Arba Minch town’s Merkeb Tabya district.

“He baptized the first person and he passed on to another one. All of a sudden, a crocodile jumped out of the lake and grabbed the pastor pushing aside the person he was baptizing,” local resident Ketema Kairo told the BBC

Residents and fishermen made a huge effort to save Pastor Docho but were unsuccessful, policeman Eiwnetu kanko said
“They only managed to get his dead body… They were unable to save him,” Eiwnetu added

Chairman of Isi-Uzo Local Government Area in Enugu State, Dr. Benjamin Edeoga, has disclosed that Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State and Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State are recon-structing the Nkalagu-Nsukka federal road connecting both states.

Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi Edeoga stated that while Governor Umahi was doing the Ebonyi State flank of the road from Nkalagu Junction to the Enugu State border at Ochin River, Governor Ugwuanyi is working from the Ebonyi border into Eha-Amufu Enugu State.

The council chairman hailed both governors for their intervention on the road, which was abandoned by the Federal Government despite its strategic importance in food and cement production.

He noted that two councils— Isi-Uzo in Enugu State and Ishielu in Ebonyi State are benefitting directly from the road reconstruction, but that the multiplier effect is for the nation. His words: “We are holding our voters’ cards for the governor. The stength of our votes have tripled for him and we have sensitised our people to the extent that if you don’t have your PVC there is no salary for you.”

“Of course not!” I replied indignantly. Honestly, do I look irresponsible to you? “I was just giving her a brief rundown on the fine line between boyfriend and predator.”

A pause. “She’s seven.”

“It’s never too early to learn.” I smiled knowledgably. Daniel just glowered back, obviously not buying into my incredibly logical reasoning.

“Danny? I have to go now. My brother’s waiting in the car outside.” Brooke strolled into the living room and wrapped her arms around ‘Danny’ (I swear, if I ever called him that he’d burn all my Hello Kitty stuffed toys), standing on tiptoes to press her face against his shoulder. And just like that his angry expression melted away, replaced by a smile so tender I would have swooned – if it wasn’t my brother who had been sending me death glares a mere two minutes ago.

If I knew falling in love was enough to transform him from a grouch into Mr. Kind and Caring, I would have set him up eons ago. For the past two and a half weeks Brooke and Daniel have been going out he’s undergone a complete personality change. He’s less moody, doesn’t get angry when I knock over his prized collection of Star Wars figurines whilst playing indoor Frisbee, doesn’t complain when I ask him for money to fund my baked goods addiction, and has even started to wear deodorant (fresh air has never smelt so good). Who needs Extreme Makeover when you have a girlfriend?

Which reminds me. I’m in desperate need of cash (after being fired from work for eating more cakes than I was actually selling). I blame my colleague Jo, for introducing me to the wonderful, addictive world of tiramisu.

I tapped my foot, patiently waiting for them to finish their goodbye kiss (because I’m such a thoughtful, accommodating sister) so I could beg Daniel for ‘spare change’ (translation: if you don’t give me twenty bucks I’ll tell Brooke about the time you farted the alphabet in year six).

Waiting. Waiting. Still waiting. Oxygen anyone?

And that’s when I remembered Clare, who’s not allowed to watch Sesame Street (because my Mum is convinced there’s some serious sexual innuendo between Bert and Ernie), let alone witness her big brother in the midst of a PDA session with her ex-babysitter. That’s Asian parents for you.

So I did what any good sister would do and covered her eyes with one hand and gently ushered her out of the room with the other.

“I saw Pete and Sara doing that behind the gym during naptime,” Clare piped up when we made it to the kitchen. Sometimes I seriously worry about what first graders get up to in between finger painting and story time. What ever happened to cooties?

I was saved from giving her the no-boyfriends-until-the-next-Ice-Age lecture by the sound of the doorbell. “How about you get the cookie dough out of the fridge and we’ll start some serious baking?” I grinned at Clare and she beamed back enthusiastically. Cookie dough itself should be one of the five main food groups; it is that good.

I opened the front door and froze.

I told this mutual friend in Nigeria to reach out to Bobrisky for a promo since I don’t follow Him on IG. My friend did & he agreed to do the dance promo for #100k after the bargain. He demanded we transfer full payment last week Tuesday saying he was free to do the dance. My friend made it clear when we needed the video as we planned on setting up a #OneShotChallenge competition with it. Bob agreed to have the video ready by last Tues. I have screenshots of this conversation. I went ahead and transferred 100k immediately.

But after he confirmed the money, he went mute & stopped reading my messages. My friend contacted him last Tues night & he promised to do it the next day (Wedsnesday) but he didnt do it. Based in his unreliability, she contacted him on Wedneday night & asked him to return the money back to glogeworld, but he told her the video was ready & would be posted last Thurs morning, which she accepted. Through all this, I kept calm. Fri nothing, Saturday nothing, on Sunday nothing, so I sent him a message last Sun to return the 100k back to my account.

My friend also told him to return the money BC we are not interested anymore. 1 week later on Tues, Bobrisky ignored our request to return the money and in a bid to cover up his failure, he posted the dance without informing me & without sending the dance to me on WhatsApp. What dishonesty! Who does that in business? I am a fashion influencer for many companies in USA includin Amazon, and an Ambassador to many companies in the US.

When they pay me for anything, I have to deliver it in a certain time frame. In business you have to respect your customers or anyone that pays you money for any service. They are the reason you pay your bills. If you keep gettin bad reviews no one would want to deal with you.

This is the problem with Muhammadu Buhari. The President does not like to read. If he was a reading man, he would not have made the statement he did about $16 billion being wasted on power projects by the Obasanjo led administration.

The President had said while playing host to the Buhari Support Group as follows:

“One of the former Heads of State between that time was bragging that he spent more than 16 billion American dollars, on power. Where is the power? Where is the power? And now we have to pay the debts.”
The figure of $16 billion does not exist and it is sad that a President, with records available to him can make such a reckless accusation, especially when the facts are available to him if he would only read!

Since President Buhari is so enamored with Nasir El-Rufai, the manipulative Governor of Kaduna state and uber Buhari sycophant, I would like to quote from an interview that El-Rufai gave on October 17, 2009.

In that interview, entitled ‘My Grouse With Yar’adua, El-Rufai said:

“When Yar’Adua came in, he made statements while receiving Oby Ezekwesili in her new capacity at the World Bank to the effect that he believed that the amounts spent by Obasanjo were wasted. He came up with a figure of $10 billion. When his own Senior Special Assistant (Engr. Foluseke Shomolu) wrote him a memo to the effect that the figure quoted was inaccurate, the president fired him. Very conveniently, the House of Representatives began a probe of the NIPP under Obasanjo and sensationalised it.

I have expressly stated before that I am not afraid of arraignment but must be arraigned through due process of the law.

It must be noted that I, through my legal counsel, challenged the jurisdiction of the Lagos State High Court to hear the forgery charge filed against me by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on ground of, inter alia, the charge being an abuse of process. I filed an application before the court that this present charge is an abuse of process because a similar charge on the same subject matter, transactions and issues is ongoing at the Federal High Court Lagos Division between the same parties, in charge no FHC/l/565c/2015. The last hearing of the charge at the Federal High Court was this week, May 22nd 2018.

In an exclusive report by CNN that made the 80-year old actor the latest in the long line of popular men who have been accused in the wake of the #MeToo movement, the woman accused the actor of inappropriate behavior and harassment.

The allegations surfaced in a report from CNN, with eight individuals telling the network that they were victims of harassment and inappropriate behavior by Freeman. Sixteen people in total spoke to CNN about the actor’s alleged behavior as part of the investigation.

Shortly after the story was published, Freeman released a statement in which he said,

The appointees as Dr. Anasa Ahmad Sabir, Chief Medical Director (CMD), Usman Danfodio University Teaching Hospital (UDUTH), Sokoto; Dr. Theresa Obumneme Okoli, Provost Federal College of Education (Technical) Umunze, Anambra State; Dr. Emmanuel Ikenyiri, Provost and Dr. Pius Olakunle Osunyikanmi, Director/CEO, Directorate of Technical Aid Corps.

“He (President Buhari) charged the appointees to deliver selfless, exemplary and socially impactful services, with strict observance of the extant policies, guidelines, rules and stipulations guiding the discharge of their offices,” the statement read.
