Barack Obama and Michelle Obama are teaming up with Netflix to produce films and TV shows.

Netflix say the former US President and First Lady have “entered into a multi-year agreement” with the service.

It says the “films and series” will “potentially” include “scripted series, unscripted series, docu-series, documentaries and features.”



“Barack and I have always believed in the power of storytelling to inspire us,” said Michelle Obama.

Exact details of programming have yet to be announced.

The couple have created Higher Ground Productions to produce the content to be aired on Netflix.

“One of the simple joys of our time in public service was getting to meet so many fascinating people from all walks of life, and to help them share their experiences with a wider audience,” said Mr Obama.

“That’s why Michelle and I are so excited to partner with Netflix – we hope to cultivate and curate the talented, inspiring, creative voices who are able to promote greater empathy and understanding between peoples, and help them share their stories with the entire world.”

She’s one of the most famous people on the planet. But it seems her career in showbiz is just isn’t enough for Queen Bey, who is 36 years.

According to TMZ, Queen Bey is the new owner of a stone structured, 7,500 sq. ft house of God in The Big Easy. The New Orleans church which is more than 100-years-old was listed at $850,000 (£631,000) foot and has been out of use as a religious place for a while

The site also reported that the church was built in the early 1900s, but has been out of commission as a place of worship for some time due to its church members passing away

A small number of gift bags given to guests at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding are being sold online.

Nine auctions can currently be found on the website eBay – with some listings reaching more than £1,000.

The bags were given to 2,640 members of the public invited into the grounds of Windsor Castle for the wedding on 19 May, but not the 600 chapel guests.

Contents of the bags include the order of service booklet and a tube of “handbag shortbread”.

One listing reads: “Don’t miss out on this limited once in a life time opportunity to have a piece of royal history.”

Another, seemingly posted by the Swindon Night Shelter, promised all proceeds would go towards meeting “the complex needs of those homeless and vulnerable in Swindon and the surrounding area”.

Other items given to the guests include a bottle of water, a chocolate coin, a fridge magnet, a badge and a 20% off voucher for the Windsor Castle gift shop.

Markel attended private schools from age 5. First, she went to Hollywood Little Red Schoolhouse and later moved to Immaculate Heart High School in Los Angeles.

Markel had shown her potential as a child when she was 11 years old. She had written a letter to the first Lady Hillary Clinton complaining about an advertisement that showed women belonged to kitchen only. The manufacturer of the Ad was forced to alter it following Markel’s complaint.

Early Life
Markle graduated from Northwestern University with a double major in theater and international relations in 2003. Her interest in acting was developed at an early age when her father, who was a photography director, took Markel with him on the sets of American sitcoms.

However, after completing her college, she worked at US Embassy until her manager came across her college films. Apparently, that was the launch of her acting career. In the beginning, she worked as a freelance calligrapher along with acting.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described as wicked the plan by governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to sack school teachers and other workers after the 2019 general election.

The PDP is horrified by the revelation by Kaduna State governor, Nasir el-Rufai, on Thursday, that governors elected on the platform of APC, particularly from the northern states, had been in a secret plot to sack schoolteachers in their states after using them to win elections.

It is more disheartening to know from Governor el-Rufai, as widely reported in the media, that President Muhammadu Buhari even supported the implementation of this treacherous policy in his state, while at the same time, parading himself before Nigerians as pro-people and seeking to be re-elected.

The PDP rejects in its totality this plot by the APC governors to victimize the schoolteachers or cause any worker at any level to suffer.

More than 100 people have died after a Boeing 737 airliner crashed near Jose Marti International Airport in Havana, Cuban state media reports.

Three people have survived but are in a critical condition, Cuban Communist Party newspaper Granma reported.

The Boeing 737-201 crashed at 12;08 (16:08 GMT) on Friday, on an internal flight to Holguin.

The plane was carrying 110 passengers and crew, according to the Mexican firm from which the plane was leased.

A former Playboy centerfold model and her 7-year-old son have died after jumping from a New York hotel, Fox reports.

The woman, identified as Stephanie Adams plunged to her death along with her 7-year-old child after apparently jumping off the balcony of the Gotham penthouse hotel suite she was staying in.

The incident Friday was reported around 8:30 a.m. EST. The woman and child landed on the hotel’s second-floor balcony and died of their injuries.

Emmanuel Eghosa Ugiagbe, an Edo-State-based businessman, has threatened to sue Ethiopian Airlines, five months after the disappearance of his check-in baggage after boarding an ET flight from Johannesburg to Lagos via Addis Ababa.

Ugiagbe, resident at 20 Dawson Road, Benin City, where he does business, was a passenger on ET Flights ET 858 & 901 from Johannesburg, South Africa to Lagos, Nigeria from January 1 to January 2, 2018 transiting in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Upon arrival at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos on January 2, 2018, he searched for his check-in baggage at the baggage claim but did not find it.

“I immediately complained to a staff of the airline who had me fill a Baggage Irregularity Report Form, while assuring me that my baggage would be found and I would be contacted within the shortest possible period. Therefore, I proceeded to my final destination, Benin City,” Ugiagbe said

A female police officer in Zambia has won herself a promotion after she braved a heavy downpour – without a raincoat – and stood in the middle of a busy intersection to control traffic on Wednesday in the capital, Lusaka.

The police service in the country is often riddled with accusations of corruption. But pictures of constable Charity Nanyangwe standing between the intersection of Ben Bella and Lumbumba roads became a talking point on social media as she relentlessly controlled traffic whilst getting soaked.

It would appear the police command did not want to be left out in the excitement. On Thursday, they promoted her to the rank of sergeant.



Ms Nanyangwe’s dedication to duty has won her many hearts.

One user wrote: “I do not agree with the idea of rewarding anyone to do their job but Charity Nanyangwe…went above and beyond her call of duty.”
