Have you submitted the Ds-160? If Yes, no issues.
Go to the Ds page and fill all the fields then click on "create new application".
Some of your previous datas would come up.
Fill columns that are void with the accurate information you want to input.
Review, and Submit.
Click on "Print confirmation" Download the final copy.
Note the new Ds confirmation number. Go back to your cgi page, update your profile with the new Ds code.
Print out all updated docs and go for your interview.
All the above to be done 72hrs PRIOR your appointment date.

If anyone can be so kind as to explain step by step how do I do this ds 160 update on an already submitted application, would really appreciate it please. My appointment is already confirmed with one ds 160 barcode, how exactly do I go about an update at this stage?

Using uncle as sponsor should have been the best o since his account carries the bulk money , they will most likely reckon with the name on your i20

Hello house, please my interview is coming up and I need some assistance. How do I fill a new Ds 160 and update on CGI without losing my current appointment date? I filled it before for fall but couldn’t get a date on time, so I had to defer my admission to Spring. Is it compulsory I now update the DS 160 to spring term or can I just leave it as it is and say I scheduled my interview earlier on but had to defer. Please I’ll appreciate a timely response.

Also my I-20 states personal funds but I’ll be going with mine & an uncle’s bank statement as a sponsor with the bulk of the funds from my uncle. Will this be ok? Please help

Please does anyone have any information about this. I’m in a similar case and not sure what to do because my brother who’s supposed to be my sponsor lives in the same city as my school.

Another alternative for me would be to use my fiancé as my sponsor instead although currently on my DS 160 it states Self as sponsor but I intend to update that once I have a better idea where I should lean towards. I know both options aren’t ideal but which is less problematic would you guys say.

Please I would really appreciate any feedback

Please if my sponsor is in US (my brother), can he provide proof of funds for me? What are the chances of my visa getting approved when they know my sponsor is not in Nigeria?

P/S: He went there through Masters, but he is already a citizen and he is working.

When you get the new passport, you will fill a new ds160 form, then update your CGI portal and put the new passport number and ds160 app number, then reprint your appointment letter.

Hi everyone, I have a question please. I applied for my visa interview & got a date in November with my current passport. The passport isn’t expired yet but slightly damaged, my picture isn’t so clear anymore. I’m considering getting a new passport but I was wondering how do I update my current application which has already been confirmed with this old passport number to the new passport when I get it. Will I have to fill a brand new Ds 160, if so what happens to the already confirmed one or how do I go about this please. Would appreciate a response.

Hello house, please I have an urgent enquiry that I would really appreciate timely responses to. I am currently filling my Ds 160 form and I’m wondering if I should claim my relative who is a US citizen and will partially contribute to sponsoring me or not. I am concerned about this because I’ve seen transcripts with people who have been denied because of ties to the US and people who say they didn’t get the correct information on time. Please gurus what would you advice. My brother lives in the same city as the school I will be attending as well.

Would you guys advice I be honest and claim my brother or not, which will help make my application stronger.

They would ask what he does & when I tell them is there any need to say he just became a citizen or do I not say that. will it look bad? As though I had someone that went & didn’t return. Basically I just want to know if saying my brother in the U.S is my sponsor would impact my visa decision?
