You cannot buy a $4.99 prestone coolant against a $60 MB antifreeze. The initial question was the problem with green coolant and not coolant in general and I explained it in layman's understanding. They differ in their silicate levels, and the inclusion or exclusion of phospates, for one thing. All Green ethylene glycol based product contains phosphate corrosion inhibitors that can hurt your engine and cooling system. It doesn't go well with Mercedes vehicles. The two most damaging components of antifreeze are the additives, mainly corrosion inhibitors, and silicates. Glysantin G 05 is the corrosive inhibitor in MB and Amsoil antifreeze. This is far expensive than silicone or phosphate and that is why you pay a lot of money for it. The link you pasted is Amsoil and it isn't green but flourescent yellow. I have that on one of my vehicles too. MB antifreeze and Amsoil are phosphate free. The green coolant isn't. Use the green on any high/heavy performance euro car and you'll be doing a head gasket job prematurely. This is the point driven and not the function of what you claim you know (no disrespect). |
@Playmate Life moving on is directly proportional to wickedness soaring. It's only in a whole new phase that is dynamic. Wickedness is soaring and the fact that you are blinded or caged does not seize the fact that it is true. Stop deceiving yourself. I'm western than you is nothing but some kind of identity. I don't brag about it and there is nothing demeaning about being African. My phrase was only to stress the fact that its still the same sun that reveals itself to the corners of the earth. Witchcraft is thick in Africa especially Nigeria and less intense in Western parts and for Nigerians to shun such fact is far more unrealistic. I didn't shuttle both worlds, I only did my secondary school in Lagos. Your method of reasoning is not the same as mine and will never be due to environmental influences. That is just the bare truth. Yet, I am aware of such wickedness happening and you say the opposite. Funny enough, Nigerian-Americans believe likewise and Nigerians claim the opposite. Things are real and that is for sure. You don't have to believe anything. I am settled/satisfied with the fact that you know the truth even though you deceive yourself in the belief that it no longer exist. Witchcraft is a territorial/celestial stronghold and civilisation does not erase such establishment. If you don't know where you are coming from, you surely don't know where you are going. I only wanted to know what blood ties entails and why people still get into it. I don't see anything wrong in telling the african culture and its fetishism and tribalism. |
BlackHawk:Blackhawk I understand what I stated in response to Atilla's post distinctively. Explain the composition of the green coolant in basic and continuum understanding and I will have a change of opinion. Engineering is all about materials and how well you manipulate those materials for a certain purpose. Coolants are different and the worst is DexCool for GM vehicles followed by the common green coolant. I wasn't talking about the purpose of a coolant. I was differentiating the green coolant from the ideal coolant. It doesn't matter if yo've used it in the past or not, that isn't the point. The main fact is that green coolant is incompetent in its function. FYI, the green coolant doesn't lubricate and your water pump seal suffers. If auto manufacturers don't fit their vehicles with green coolant, then you shouldn't use it. Coolant does not cool your vehicle. It obeys the principle of processes in a pure substance. |
@Playmates I'm nigerian by blood but not mentally and I've lived in nigeria a little over a decade. I wasn't putting anything into anyone's head. I went to a civilised secondary school and I live in a "very civilised" part of Lagos. That oath thing is still practised irrespective of classe. My Dad works for the biggest oil company besides Nigerian pertroleum corporation and he tells me fetish things people do. Not too far from my home in Lagos, patrol policemen stopped a V12 (Beast, Mercedes) and was asked to open his trunk. There were 12 human heads in the trunk of his V12. Quite unusual to stop a man of such social status. This happens to be the neighbour down the estate. I'm far more western than you (no doubt) but living in both worlds just made it common that there are strange things that happen inbetween black and white. Diabolical practices still very much exist in nigeria. The oath thing is still a piece of the entire fruit cake. It's nothing to do with civilisation or education. I am educated and my parents are engineers too. I really don't make friends because I don't trust anyone (if you know me personally) unless otherwise. I know my roots to conclude that wickedness is what orchestrated the entire structure. It'll be foolish to negate the fact that nothing happens and humans live as animals handling the day as it comes. Being a nigerian and deceiving yourself that nothing goes on is pure fallacy. Funny, nigerians it becoming real trendy to believe self-deceit. |
@sways102 sways102:Poster What's up? What's the car's history? Has it been wet or salvaged. What is the actual worth of this vehicle (monetarily speaking) neglecting your own stated price? You still need to explain more features of this vehicle besides the full option statement. |
Why don't you just buy it from home instead of shipping? Basically, the question in analogy is as asking if you can buy a bottle of water abroad and have it shipped. That for sure needs a second opinion. Monetarily, it makes no sense. You are better buying it directly from mobil or shell than doing the hassle yourself. It's even cheaper at home than what's on the shelf. |
@Darola Agree or don't agree, a transaction has taken place. You cannot double cross something that governs you when all principles are met. |
@poster You are bound to that man till one of you dies. Divorce doesn't nullify the terms of your marital contract but makes you an adulteress. Marrying a womaniser means you are one yourself because two cannot get together lest they agree and think in one mind. Fix the mess you started. |
@Mekoyo It is a tradition or a practice if you are yoruba or igbo. People may not practise it but its not an abolished practice. I have met nigerians here that are so tribalistic and so tuned to the customs of where they originate. For instance, the drinking of the bathe water of the corpse of a spouse is very common in igbo tradition. , and many other things that may sound uncomprehendable. These things are true and have effects to them. People pretend to have no idea of what's going on because they give the false impression that they are modernised. Indeed, modernised! It doesn't shield the fact that the truth still persist. Tradition is culture and culture is a way of life associated to a particular group of people confined to a limited goegraphical region. |
What is this oath thing? It seems to be common in Nigeria especially the west. Does anyone have a biblical reference from the old testament to this? It is also practiced here in America amongst whites and theirs is even worse as it's now modernised. What are the terms of the contract(s) in a broad term. @Poster What tribe is your so-called nigerian?! Not all nigerians are desperate for papers. They opt for white girls because african troubles are impossible to leave with (no disrespect). ::Out of Question:: Some of you are pitiful. Is there anything wrong communicating in languages other than English? |
I'll go for the Honda if I were in your shoes (though I don't like Honda's). The truth is that VW's are fantastic cars but very unreliable and expensive to maintain. It's a durable car (doesn't fall apart as a Ford does under abuse) but unreliable and also, not dependable. A few years back, I happen to come across an '88 prelude that had 288,000 miles still running and smoothly. It was first owner, original engine and all maintenance were documented. I have also come across a 96 Honda with almost 500,000 miles but I know nothing about its drive train. I will suggest you still go around. You may find a better deal. Ask friends around and mechanics and then make your decision. I wish I could tell you the monetary value of those vehicles but I don't reside in Lagos to base a conclusion. |
CHIMSKY:I wish you the best. Be ready to buy a set of clutches and maybe flywheels (not to discourage you). That only applies to the manual transmission gearbox. |
@Atilla It doesn't contain sillicates. Your seals damage, gasket leaks and you also experience cavitations. Meaning, coolant is passing through your pump producing only bubbles or air pockets that collapses with explosive forces pockmarking the internal parts/components of the pump. The list goes on. I can explain this in steps and detail in continuum mechanics but I'm not going there. I still wonder why it's on the shelf. DexCool is a no go and shouldn't even be an idea. You'll be doing an intake and head job. An experience that would be a lesson. The truth is in a car's lifetime, you never have to do deal with these issues as fluid dynamics entails. Nigeria shouldn't be a region where one should use such. It's a tropical region and these fluids don't convey efficiently. It's got a high pH and doesn't protect against liner pitting and corrosion. |
I don't know anyone in Lagos and I lost all my lagos touch of contact. Your problem doesn't require a new a new transmission. Take courage! |
I suggest you get some inspection - then get a second opinion then a third. Transmission issues are big money and you don't want to be played. It's not a complicated nor grave issue. It may be a switch or a sensor that is not functioning as supposed. D4 will take a little more before it downshifts because it's gear ratio is just within 4 gear confinement. |
You don't need to hide your password. Your password can still be gotten. |
If eMails are private, I wonder what the other aspects of life are. Some people just have misplaced priorities. If she isn't allowing you to read her eMails, then it's time to get nosey. There are plenty other ways to get the eMails read including all the eMail addresses. Trust nobody, it's not worth it. Poster, only if you care. Seriously, you don't have a problem. You can still read her mails if she lets you or not. Just think out of your limits and it's yours. There is no privacy in marriage. I won't even tolerate that. |
Your transmission might be developing a fault. It may be as simple as a solenoid not making the complete contact or you are selecting the wrong gear selector. What symptoms are you experiencing? |
fuzek:I didn't know it was old lest I wouldn't have added my two cents. It's all good. |
Yep, four days of being of being extreme busy and friday, chilling. Nothing is wrong with that/ |
It's foolish not to sign a prenup. |
@desgiezd That was what I second too. |
@Fusik The thread is at the homepage that is why the response is so high plus it's Friday. |
The Nissan you are talking about is reliable and maintenance is almost minimal. The plugs are to be changed twice in it's engine lifetime (plat plugs with/without wires). You can change the plugs yourself since it's a straight 4 cyl engine and the plugs are laid at the engine block surface. The timing belt (don't know the miles) should be considered. If it's mechanical, you'll need to change the tensioner along with the timing belt. If it's hydraulic, you only need to have the timing belt replaced. Coolant should be replaced every year. For goodness sake, never use a green coolant. Anything else that needs to be done on that vehicle is upon inspection. |
Why the slap? Why should one resort to violence? The entire case has taken a turn for the worse. |
@Jenni What exactly are you implying? I hope you understand that the ration of girls to boys is 8:1. Misbehaving will only opt the one interested to switch choices easily. Talking about cheap - I won't even go thurrr-r-r. |
I don't think prenup will be a problem if you plan to stick to the marriage thick/thin. |
Prenup is a must! There is an act enforced in Houston, Texas called the No Fault Marriage Act. A spouse can divorce for just no reason and entitled to at least 50% of your current estate. People aren't fools - check Anna Nicole Smith! Many would have clocked about 6 marriages in a 10 year period accruing wealth they did not work for. |
@ademifee I wonder why it's girls think you are interested in them if you show extra concern. Some start playing hard to get and that get down-right disgusting. |
@Rubbermaid He was brought up well by his parents. You'd be a complete fool if you try running games with him. You shouldn't even be taking counsel from girls because girls cannot understand the way men think. It is up to you to take time and understand the person you are dealing with. |
Most of you have no clue what marriage is all about. It's a categorical shame! That is why one reaps what he/she sows. |
