Greetings house,
i am kelvin,
I am a registered Nurse here in Nigeria ,I want to apply to study PSW in Canada, George Brown College.

I have about 1.5 years experience.

I want to know the requirements I will need to submit to the CiC.

Please I want to know the requirements or things my sponsor need to assist me with like SOA etc

And also, the documents I need to submit.

My sponsor is a family friend.

Please house kindly advice me accordingly.

Your contributions will be appreciated thanks.
Ok first of all, PSW for a Nigerian RN is a red flag in present times cuz it's lower than ur present qualification. I suggest pursuing other PGCert Nursing related courses in any Ontario college.
2. Please flip tru previous pages of this particular thread, I rmbr someone (thesoj I think) put up a well compiled post on links to information u require.
Get the admission offer first, find d post with the links and then I'm sure ppl will respond to ur questions/ clarifications on the application process itself. Goodluck!

what I meant by "easy" is that their academic system is structured in a way that if you study(without stress), submit assignments when due, sit for all test, avoid plagiarism, then you have no reason to fail except if that person is completely dull.

e.g Exams could be only 30% of total marks while CA would account for the remaining 70%. And there could be up to 5 CA's, and sometimes the best 4 could be used.

In exams, you would also be given a formula bank in some cases. Also, if the student fail say at first attempt in an exam, they are given a 2nd chance through remedial like its done in some private unis in Nigeria.

The focus is more on application, and not cramming. In Nigeria public universities, you can study hard and read over night, yet still fail as the lecturer would expect you to memorize all his notes, and recommended textbooks irrespective of whether you understand what you are memorizing or not. This same lecturer would set an exam with 80% of total marks and 20% CA, with only one attempt at each.

Now which style of education do you think is the easiest?
I share d same sentiments with u.. We don't write exams or quizzes in my Prog, So I don't worry about cramming nothing unlike my 9ja UG days.

Reporting right from Ontario grin . Landed few hiurs ago.Boarded Ethiopian airline and the flight was very ok.

I didn't encounter any difficulty at the POE. My study permit was issued without question about fees paymet(my greatest fear cos I have not paid), and late resumption. I was only asked to show my Acceptance Letter.
I was also given my SIN right away at the POE.

For food stuffs; they didn't check at d POE only at MMA Lagos the officials demanded settlement and I told them I had nothing with me (showed them empty wallet) and I was allowed to check in with the food luggage.

I pray for God's favour for all TRV hopeful. You will all get your heart desires IJN

Thanks to Anuguson, Iyaejima, thesoj all the gurus in the house
May God be praised!... Welcome Bro!!!

Guy abeg run away from that uni. With such grade you should only aim the best universities. Contact university of british Colombia or mcgill university. I know mastercard offers post graduate scholarships at university of British columbia, so do your research.
You don't search for schools for CPGA reasons / "name" alone but also for schools with programs in which u r sure of full funding! Nobody come throway money for Canada.. OP wants to study Agric Econs and most Agric grad students get good funding packages in MB... U should do ur research!

Pls can i get suggestions from u guys.
I wuld indeed be grateful.. thanks all and Godbless
Bros! Pls kindly shift focus from Ontario to Manitoba, Newfoundland, New Brunswick or Sask if u want low cost Masters tuition.. Secondly, CIC won't grant u visa for a part-time Prog, thirdly, applying for masters with that cpga will take a lot of grace and packaging to pull tru. Trust and Believe! Wishing u d very best.

@Mizbaby @iyaejima i learnt that its better i get a supervisor before i start applying so i contacted 2 supervisors at the uni of manitoba and I'm yet to get a reply from any of them and so I've not even started my application. Though i tried to apply at uni of sask before cos my brova is in the school but the professors in my research field said they re unable to accept any graduate students for now. I'm looking forward to fall 2016 resumption but since I've not gotten a supervisor, i dunno what to do.
Replied ur PM. Depends on ur department, mine prohibits u from contacting profs before applying. Some other depts require u to do otherwise.. Pls mail d Prog coordinator / Grad student advisor for ur prospective program.

Sup ma,

How easy is it to get these student jobs? What's the pay like? What was the flight fare like when you travelled to Canada?
It's all about grace dear. Grace makes it easy. Pay depends on where u work. Some Unis pays grad stds $20-24/hr based on CUPE standards, off camp $11-15/hr.. Flight fare- 180k when I travelled.

IyaEjima pls advice. I work with the state government and I am allow to go for studies and come back and continue. I was given letter of introduction and letter of support for tuition and upkeep but said they can't give SOA cos of security reason, what should I do pls?
U can't get the govt's SOA Dear. Package ur app like every normal app- submit ur SOA and ur sponsor's SOA/property docs, alongside the letters ur office gave u- they sure will help speak for home ties while backing up ur proof finance. #AllDaBest#

I still mentain my fact u can't enter nursing directly. Just like u stated above pre nursing before nursing isn't it?
Sir, It's really pointless doing this with u. U asked for schools, I listed them and u still haven't supported ur assumption with evidence.. Dunno if u r an agent or if ppl u know haven't succeeded in getting into BSN progs, but pls do not quote stuffs without backing up ur points with evidence. Lots of ppl get info from here so try not to mislead...
Pre-nursing / nursing, BSN offer letters state they r going in for nursing, their progression depends on their performance in their 1st year.. Even CIC doesn't give them 1yr visa (cuz Pre-nursing na 1 year na). They get nothing less than 4 yrs from CIC... Fact still remains intl students r admitted into BSN Progs in Canada. #EndOfDiscussion#

Yes, I'm not a UOFM student... did I even mention that they don't accept intl students... read to understand before you reply my sister
Well u should check before mentioning stuffs here. Please do not lead ppl astray by falsifying stuffs about admission. U can't just mention go to Helen glass like d front desk ppl will show statistics when one goes there. Evidence goes a long way.. God bless you brother.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by IyaEjima(f):
OtunbaJega:
Na lie... Masters of Nursing is pretty easier... Go to the help desk at Helen Glass to check the facts
I doubt if u r a UoM Nursing student, cuz u'll know d CoN just started accepting intl grad students of recent. It used to be only citizens and PRs. Tell me when u wanna meet me up so u can show me how many intl students u know in d MN prog, Mr Otunba.

Not dat am studying nursing directly i already av some qualification here in nigeria my general Nursing nd midwifery bur jst goin dere to obtain my Bnsc whic i heard is a year nd do my master along, bur av try to email dem bur av nt heard frm dem yet.thanks
Theres no uni in Canada that does 1yr BNsc dear.. I hate to burst ur bubbles but Nursing in Canada isn't how it's painted to be outside. Ur best bet is to do a PGD, get licensed as a practical nurse and then, do an LPN-BSN bridging Prog 2 get a degree, Masters can then come in afterwards. All d best.

most of the uni in canada don't accept international student for nursing program undergraduate. Check and quote me wrong.
My Sch- UoM does, UoS does, UoNB does, and I know ppl in d mentioned schools.. That whoever u know didn't get in doesn't mean what u stated is a FACT, that's why I queried ur source. Pls don't discourage ppl. It's more difficult to get into a Masters Prog in Nursing as an intl student than it is for an undergrad prog cuz most unis require u to b licensed to practice for the former, but not for the BSN prog cuz they all get into pre-nursing first which is not hard to get into.
