Iya Ejima, please can you get her list of documents, how long it took, etc. been wondering if this trend is just for study permits. Team 12 once mentioned it but she didn't dwell much on it. I'm interested in it too.
This is what I got from her:
She filled d IMM forms for OWP, TRV application and family information; attached letter of sponsorship from sponsor and related financial docs, police report, marriage cert.. Her hubby got a letter of enrolment from his Sch in ON, submitted his statement of account and copy of study permit(must be valid).. Got called for Medicals and u knw d rest.lol.. Took 20working days.
PS: d date of expiry on d study permit will be d same date of expiry on d SOWP so she recommends d partner with d study permit ensures it's got a longer period of validity.

Good pm house.
I discovered people are no more posting their transcripts, either granted or refused for others to learn from! Please let's endeavour to do so... #Godwin...

Secondly, I would appreciate if anybody know any successful applicant of SOWP, and is it advisable to apply for it-myself as case study.
Spouse - Visa granted. Won't it look as desperate attempt, moving from Study permit to SOWP application.
@Team12 and house... Kindly advice.
Thanks.
Yes to ur first question, met ppl with successful SOWP apps in ON. Met a new one ystday sef who's is a Yoruba chic, spouse just finished a 1yr PGD Prog.

am just confused ....chatting with a girl in Canada about funds.. she was like if u coming into Canada with USD that Canada would rubbish it for u cos they also try to protect the CAD against USD cos it getting weaker

she said they would convert it like 1 USD -1 CAD

and foreign ATM charges ar killing
Depends on where u want d exchange done.. At YYZ, got charged at that rate (1USD to 1CAD), at d bank, when I wanted to deposit, got charged at d normal exchange rate.

Okay, so which network favours calls to Africa? Lebara-type of network for Canada.
Not sure of the answer to ur question as I don't knw the tariff plans for other networks.. My network (Fido) charges me 5cents per minute to naija, plus most long distance calls I make are made via Internet-based applications.. Hoping @Siga, @Onyeoma3, @Pchax and others see this soon and respond.

I. Am a serving corp member and I will be tru by march nxt year. I don't kwn the tyme to apply for university of manitoba post graduate sch for fall 2016
Mail the Sch / ur prospective dept and ask if they've started accepting applications for Fall 2016 (applications opened on Sept 2nd 2014 for Fall 2015).. If they have, pls apply straight away as sometimes admission is given on a first come first serve basis when competition throws them into a dilemma.

Pls, what do you mean by 'be mindful of your declarations'? Are there foodstuff that should be hidden and not declared? Pls, let's know those ones so I can leave them behind. I don't think I can hide anything since all my foodstuff will be inside one luggage.
Pls visit
http://www.inspection.gc.ca/food/information-for-consumers/travellers/eng/1389630031549/1389630282362

The Canadian Govt expects u to declare stuffs listed on that site if u hv them and would give u a form to fill b4 ur arrival @ YYZ.. I declared some, my friends declared none, we were all lucky, our bags were not searched.. To be on d safe side, all 9ja foodstuffs should be well-dried, sealed in a ziploc bag den well wrapped with newspaper and sealed tight with tape, that way no odour will be released (that's what I did).. But I declared 'soup powder'. Had 5 luggages so I had stuffs scattered in all.lol. Pls note that CBSA will ask u again verbally if there's anything in ur bag(s) u wanna declare that's not on ur list, failure to declare at that last stage leaves u at the mercy of God cuz if u r caught, u may get fined.... #TheChoiceIsYours

I'm lost, infact PMing u and kennykentipsy straight away
They probably meant beverages esp full cream milk, cabin(if u r a fan of cabin), Gnut, etc.. Cornflakes isn't necesary, u'll buy d best of flakes in Canada.. Pls be mindful of ur declarations, else u'll have them all thrashed if u r unlucky.. Esp d milk.

This is a great response. But don't you think it would be easier and less expensive for @myb012 if he just emailed CIC (assuming he didn't apply online for his TRV)? In the scenario that CIC changes his DLI, he wouldn't have to land in ON, house himself, go to the school, etc -- this would cost him a lot! Plus, he could ask the ON school for a refund via email.

I agree with @TempusQ, you, and @richcasey but I just feel like emailing CIC is the simplest solution here; this is what I would do. Occam's Razor comes to mind.

The only reason to not email CIC Accra is if there is plausible reason to believe they would prejudice his TRV, which is a nonstarter in my opinion.
Trust me, it's a big risk mailing only, esp if his travel date is close. A friend of mine changed schools and presented d letter from d new Sch @ YYZ, CBSA refused to let her in, until she called someone from the new Sch on phone and d person answered all questions asked correctly, then they stamped her passport and gave her a study permit.

300-500k? whew!!! wish we can have a universal nursing license tho cheesy.
Lol! I wish so too.. Good thing is u won't cough out the money at once so u won't feel it.lol
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by IyaEjima(f): 8:57pm On Jul 24, 2015
@myb012

Have ur passport stamped @ YYZ wiv d ON offer letter, go online notify CIC of a change of Sch and move to MB.. Got admitted to UoManitoba 4 Masters, few days after arriving ON and that's what I did. If u r already enrolled in d Sch @ ON (if u paid tuition), pls ask for d sch's withdrawal/refund process and fill d CIC notification form given to u by the Sch too, if any.
#hope this helps

NNE Thanks. Does it mean that there is no other way except to gain an admission and start the license and registration process. How tedious can it be, is it legal, what about my young family?

Are those field the most sort after or where they have shortage of nurses?
Then, how expensive can it get?

Sorry for the barrage of questions, I need to get out there and experience the real nursing.
Yes dear, unless u r a citizen / PR, study permit / postgraduate work permit is d doc that can grant u legal status in Canada, and most provincial Nursing colleges (d final stage of licensure) would ask for proof of that. And u can only get it if u first apply as a student.

2. Those r d Fields u can get into easily in Ontario colleges without a Canadian practicing license.. Other provinces sometimes require u to have a practicing license 2 take these courses and they r mostly of shorter duration.

3. Licensure would cost btw 300-500k in Naira (Max). This estimate includes fee charges, courier charges, et al.. I encourage ppl to start the process from their home country, as it reduces ur waiting time here in Canada. Max it can take is 6-18months, depending on d province. To begin d process, visit www.nnas.ca

I don't really understand why people prefer doing medical upfront, despite medical, majority were still delayed.
I will advice people to spend wisely since medical fees are non refundable.
Always obey instruction, do medicals when ever you are asked to do so, SIMPLE.
Congratulations to my last born am so happy for him, passport request, mission fulfilled.
Now 4 family members in Ontario.
Am grateful to God and i will always be grateful.
Alhamdulilah.
CIC am so grateful oooooo
Wish you all the best.
Sorry to mess ur advice up, but CIC put up the upfront Medicals choice for applicants to choose which one best suits dem.. Same way an applicant has d option of applying via paper / online route.. I did upfront, I knw a couple of ppl who did upfront too and we r all in Canny, more dey come this Fall too.. Grace is all that's required dear.

Please I need information on how to emigrate to Canada as a registered Nurse.

Thanks.

Justwise and crew, please.
If you don't have a degree in Nursing yet, u'd be registering as a practical Nurse.. But u can come in to do a PGD program in critical care/gerontology/palliative care den move from there. But if u wanna come in upon completion of ur degree, den u can start the process for RN registration while studying either at PGD or Msc level.

MSorryabt d denials,d truth is dat wen applying for admission Ur statement of purpose is key.its not jst CGPA or work experience,it's ur ability to sell Urself with a sound statement of purpose, U wld b suprise someone wit 3.5 will get admitted,so my candid advise is to write a sound nd convincing SOP wen applying again.

You can still book...I saw lagos to toronto for 10th August at 257k, then max price from Toronto to saskatoon is 50k which is better than wat you got...But if you av all d money you could stick to wat u've got.
Pls always consider baggage allowance when booking flights with stop overs.. Esp when u have to check in again.. U can escape extra luggage fares from LOS-YYZ but can't escape them from YYZ to anywhere in canada.. U'll pay btw $25-30 each for any extra bag(s) (23kg).. U knw ladies can carry loads shaa!lol

I don't think price will drop from 30th of August because we are already going ti the high season....Am speaking from experience and as a trained booking and reservation expert....I will advise you guyz that have already gotten your TRV to book as early as possible and if possible pick a day between Tuesday and Thursday or Friday if possible but try and avoid weekends.... For now, I will advise you to check lufthansa air if you don't mind two stop over and if you are not financially buoyant enough to spend 400 to 500k on a trip... Thanks and wish you all journey mercy and accident free...
Very true @ d 'avoid weekend' statement.. Weekday flights are way cheaper!! Tuesday-Thursday!

TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by IyaEjima(f): 3:08am On May 12, 2015
Hi Guys,
Sorry my update is coming late.. Arrived Canny safely two weeks ago wiv misszionboo & Edwinbiz.. We all parted ways at d airport, buh i've got other NLanders in my sch, infact i see Anugoson & Chukyade on a daily basis; wonderful ppl! For those getting set to come, save as much money as u can & brace up! grin.. Some owerri boys i met few days after i got here, likened coming to Canada to joining a confraternity, no one can describe the hustle well enough, until you get here and and experience it first hand! Funny thing is, no matter how tough it seems, no one has plans of going back to naija without becoming a PRgrin.
Congrats to those who got med calls lately, to those delayed pls re-package and refire! I apologise to ppl i never replied their mails in the past 2 weeks, settling down can be stressful, infact If ppl in Canny dont reply ur mails or vet ur SOPs ASAP, pls bear with them! Used to think it was deliberate on their part but now I know better!!!
Wishing you all loads of grace in ur endeavours!
