Yes, You can fill a new DS 160 and be sure to update the NEW DS confirmation number in your application. Alternatively, you can retrieve the information in the old DS 160 you already submitted, that would only requiring you updating or changing only the relevant information. You can do this by going through the retrieval option and then click on create new DS information.

I’d say wait till you get it but just to be on the safe side, book the next Friday not 8th (it would definitely have come then).

They want to know why you stayed long, be ready to justify your stay.

I gave birth so they asked for receipts of the medicals and carefully went through.

They rarely ask for documents.

Just ensure you can explain why you stayed that long especially if you're an employee. Above all, pray for favor including meeting a nice VO.

You may need to explain why you stayed longer than 4 weeks, They always have issues when you stay longer than 2 to 4 weeks if its not medical reasons. They hardly check documents, but just go with employment docs, bank statements, e.t.c

Go with documents you feel will help you defend your last trip to the U.S. and other necessary documentation.

1) Refusal under section 221g in a nutshell means the information they have in the application is not enough to grant you the visa and additional information is required. You could be required to forward some documents through DHL or come in for fingerprinting (if your fingerprint is more than 10yrs in their system) or come for a physical interview like my case.

2) There can be a lot of reasons for that Refusal
- Not traveling within the period you stated you would when you got the visa
- Not using the visa at all
- Staying long periods in the US

If you are for Dropbox and you don’t reside in Lagos, then consider using Abuja cos it’s faster. Here’s my timeline:

submitted ds-160 29/01/24
Request to schedule interview waiver approved in hours.
Scheduled IW on 30/01/24 for 06/02/24
Dropped off passport in DHL 06/02/24
Application received on CEAC status 07/02/24
Updated on 12/02/24 to Refused
Date to schedule 221g was already loaded on portal but I waited to get passport first
Passport picked from DHL outside Abuja 15/02/24
Scheduled 221g on 15/02/24 for 23/02/24 (because they take 221g’s only on Friday) so picked the next friday
221g interview on 23/02/24 (Approved)
Passport back in my town 28/02/24.

1. Even the US government cannot rely on their own visa issuance policies because they may change it in a twinkle of an eye because of (especially border ) security purposes .

2. Ipso facto, don't rely on that chart , they are not even following it since the year 2022.

3. The number one set of people that can quickly get their visa appointment timeframe are STUDENTS . Follows by those going for MEDICAL emergencies , and lastly those going for must-attend BUSINESS ACTIVITIES.

4. All other categories must jostle for visa appointment dates via their logic or gimmicks with the Emergency Appointment slot.

Nothing at all. You just need to wait for the email. When I renewed, I noticed that some people had to wait for two months to receive the email. So, I renewed my with the understanding that it might take some time. However, to my surprise, I received the email to schedule the renewal in less than 24 hours.

Hello Everyone, please I applied for a Dropbox because my current us visa will expire this week. But it was approved and it is asking Mt to schedule consular appointment. Is this the norm?

She obviously submitted a filled form in February.
It’s advisable to stay within a 6 month window so she should fill a new DS160 and update. Feb-Dec is 10 months.
If her circumstances hasn’t changed, then no cause for alarm. Just reprint the confirmation.

Book your flight to LAX
Los Angeles
You can be in the mountains (Big Bear or Mammoth Mountains) learning to snowboard in the morning and be sitting at the beach sipping mojito as you watch the sunset by evening.

Next day you can hike to Hollywood Sign and by evening, walking down Sunset Boulevard.



Next day, rent a surf board and join the people surfing before sunrise (5am-6am) at Santa Monica Beach. By afternoon, rent a bicycle and ride from Venice Beach to Santa Monica trying loads of dishes and food.

By evening time, jump on a whale and dolphin watching ship at Redondo Beach.

If you are into clubbing, there are tons of dive bars everywhere, but Inglewood has more bars for blacks. Anytime from 3pm is fantastic.

Indulge in Spanish food as there are food trucks and very good Mexican restaurants everywhere.

What exactly do you want right now? My guess is, if I understand you, you're qualified for IW but since your partner isn't you're looking for her interview date to be moved closer. Is this accurate?
Well, what I know is this: my sister is married to an American citizen who was based in Germany. She recently returned with their 2 kids for a short stay. Upon applying to return to Germany, her visa was inexplicably denied. After several appeals, her husband got fed up and gave up his job in Germany so they could all return to the US. Of course their 2 kids are US citizens. Only her with 9ja passport dragging the family back lol...
Anyways, the point of this story is that she too applied for US visa but initially got a distant date. That's when she got introduced to a connect who worked some magic for her and got her a date within one week
We initially had plenty of suspicion until the appointment was verified online and that's when she received all the login info after paying the connect.
The interview was just formality cos her 2 boys are US citizens so she had smooth sailing. Got her visa few days later and now the family is back in the US.
Just find the right connect if you seek a quick interview appointment.

Good afternoon, there's nothing the U.S Embassy can do about the dates unless it's for emergency purposes, keep checking the dates, you maybe lucky.
