The only time I heard about sickle cell here in SA was back in high school during my Life Sciences class.

Mindlog: It is prevelant in Nigeria and there is consciousness around it because some of us have siblings who are SS (I have an older brother who is) , relatives, classmates etc and have seen some die young, so it is imprinted in our minds.
When I lived in Kenya, I noticed Kenyans are totally unaware of this genotype stuff . The few that are SS are most likely from a particular region of Kenya that have the Luhyas and Luos. If a Kenyan is SS, he or she is most likely from these 2 tribes because it is said genetically they are closer to Nigerians....hmm, though within these tribes , names like Okwara, Oparanya, Okoro, Okonji etc is common among them That's what i am saying. It's not really an issue outside nigeria. |

advanceDNA: The sickle cell wahala is more common among blacks or races with higher menalin .... its not common in white pple.....i dont know which country u dey..but its an issue in America too..but still among blacks
the west made us believe that while the world faced the malaria problem at some point.... blacks mostly "suffered" the mutation as coping mechanism to resist malaria infection....
There are conspiracy theories from some pple ..that a vaccine was developed many years ago when malaria was a terrorist around the world but was secretly tested on some continents causing the mutation and spread to subsequent generation and also the reason only very few whites have it.
..but its just conspiracy theories..... white people cant be that wicked Na wao. Maybe it's a black thing. Has anyone seen a white person that's a sickler? |

Ok, i dey ask because i have lived outside Nigeria for 15 years and i have never heard anyone mention genotype when it comes to having kids. Here, women give birth how they please without even getting married and i have never seen a sickler or heard of a sickler. But for naija everything na genotype. Is it only in nigeria that people get this genotype issue? People living outside naija let's hear about where you are too. |

Politics › Re: Section 137: What Does The Law Say About Tinubu's Drug Case In the U.S? by izombie(m): 8:32am On Mar 22, 2023 |
N3TRAL: Worch, you can't even comprehend that section of the constitution. Tinubu is not under a sentence. To be under a sentence means that you are currently serving a jail term.
Nnamdi Kanu is in custody but he isn't under a sentence.
You celebrate mediocrity and spread fake news you get from Twitter. Just look at your reasoning. Nnamdi kanu has never been fined, he has never forfeited anything to the state, he has never been jailed so wetin you dey talk sef. Tinubu's case is different. He chose the easier way out. He forfeited those things because he was guilty and going to court would lead to imprisonment. He was guilty and that's why he forfeited the money. |
Politics › Re: Section 137: What Does The Law Say About Tinubu's Drug Case In the U.S? by izombie(m): 8:23am On Mar 22, 2023 |
helinues: It's time to clear the ignorance of that baseless discussion.
Tinubu wasn't even involved directly in the drug case, as at that time, he was more like an exchanger. Naira to USD, USD to Naira. Anybody can be your clients, how they source their money is none of your business.
The money forfeited was for the drug money deposited into Tinubu's account as an exchanger which was meant for a client. So you admit he was guilty of something? BTW, when were you unbanned? |

Whenever i hear that yorubas are accomodating i laugh. They will sell their land to igbo person then down the road they will turn around to tell you that this is yoruba land. Imagine. My tailor in awka is yoruba. There are thousands of yorubas in awka alone doing their things, nobody disturbs them but everyday we get harassed in lagos. Igbos have bought almost 60% of lands in lagos and yorubas are still selling their lands everyday to igbos. Forget abeg, in the next 50 years or so the whole of lagos would be bought by igbos. Accomodating my nyashhh |
