why does every misfiring have to be Obi's doing? and you have to measure him with the Prof. when you could have simply rally exposed individuals like the latter for the oval office, you're shamelessly comparing Obi who's crime was merely attempting to up the standard. perhaps you were blindfolded by your bigotry. It's even unbelievable that your likes are so gullible to think Obi or the Obidient, whom some of you also tag a religious or Igbo agenda could wield such power to make Nigeria a totalitarian state when Buhari with all his religious extremist for supporters and in its high numbers couldn't achieve same N3TRAL: I understand that I'm quoting an individual whose first thought about the Nairaland platform is the untimely death of its founder, Seun.
However, you need to learn that Soyinka has done more for democracy than Peter Obi.
When he was about your age, he was incarcerated by a military regime for almost two years. Just before the restoration of our presidential democracy, another military regime wanted him "dead or alive" during his necessary exile from Nigeria.
The venerable statesman has contributed more to Nigerian progress than most of you would ever do- in words and in deeds ; in theory and in practice.
As the heyday of Obidiotism is gradually coming to an end, I am proud that my convictions about the totalitarian movement were genuine and have been proven even to the least objective Nigerian.
One of my fears was the institutionalization of cancel culture. Another one was the giving of villain tags to Nigerian heroes who are not of the Igbo extraction.
I am vindicated for taking a stance against masked fascism. |

to me the fact that the trade takes place in our campuses is not my problem, but the willingness of the girls is quite another issue we find ourselves in a system where higher institutions are constrained to admit students who can't even afford to feed themselves not to talk of, getting accommodation or footing the school bills and it is in attempt to secure most of this necessaries that the students end up involving themselves in social vices not limited to cultism and prostitutions. one may wonder what our government care to do in curbing the situation; without facilitating student loans or even part time employment for some who are so desperate to get the Degrees while our bursary schemes remain the biggest affront to our sensibilities |
Politics › Re: Eze Chinedu Mozie: Igbo Leaders In Lagos Call On Sanwo-Olu To Release Chief by Izongdave(m): 10:36am On Mar 22, 2023 |
Yorubalandlord: Look at what APC has turned yoruba into, because according to them "Igbos taunted" and like cry babies they decided to throw tantrum. Now we know what APC/Yoruba mumu button is. Trust that the button will be pressed countless time, maybe one day, yorubas will burn Lagos down with everything in it because 'Igbos are calling Lagos a No Man's Land' according to them. I've never seen this childishness in my entire life, and trust me I have lived quite long.
APC on behalf of Yorubas have opened Pandora's box. They can blame Igbo all the want, but every other ethnic group they have offended with their barbarism know where the fault lies. They know who turned them away from exercising their rights to vote. And it isn't Igbo.
Jesus this is so disheartening, can't believe this. We yorubas aren't like this before Apc came into our lives, we were a sophisticated tribe and accommodators, what happened to that?
Now the whole world have seen through us and what we are, just because of a simple election.
Let us not our those bad eggs among us, soil our name to the general public. Yoruba ronu oooo... i supported a zoning arrangement that favoured an APC candidatein my state i couldn't cast my vote for him after all said and done because deep within me i know APC can never give nigeria the image we all yearn for i was glad that arrangement wasn't truncated in the end |

You're day dreaming to think Peter Obi rigged election Even though one may admit some voted with sentiment, didn't you see clips of the excitement his followers counted votes with across the divide? That was how elating the atmosphere were in most units despite the looming frustration from INEC's display of unprofessionalism Unlike in Ekiti where results from two polling units showed LP having 700+ only to be alloted a paltry 185 votes in that local government. In my Polling unit for instance PDAPC agents were willing to buy vote for as high as 10k, but they weren't getting willing sellers Yet APC got 130k+ in my state as against LP's 170k+ (Cross River) What does that tell you? Mylove55: Atiku rigged in the north, Obi rigged in the south This is what gave me confidence even more than tinubu himself. I projected if Tinubu get 40% in north and south, he will be declare the winner, Or just to be second behind atiku in north and obi in the south.
Even if both go to court, They will both lose |

They needed to, It's only sane that haven accepted equitable principles like federal character, the principle of zoning should be enshrined in our constitution. At times i am even tempted to suggest that the country should be regionalise with the head of region forming the national goverment, we really need to pay attention to our differences; if we must progress. In the end that's what we all want. abbey621: Even the Christians voted for Asiwaju, SHOCKER imagine not knowing that this is the first election since 1999 where 3 candidates pulled heavy votes, how can one person have over 10 million when the South was playing tribal politics, thank God for the North that chose to be the voice of reason. |

OMO stfu it was mainly because of insults like these most Yurubas couldn't emdure voting an Obi, even those who voted couldn't even defend their votes because you created less case for them to and here you're still without lessons Fut9ure: Tinubu will never be our president
South west got no reason to claim anymore that they are the most educated...this election open their yansh well.
The four major contestants were from the three major tribe So it means we the South South are the one to choose the most suitable for Nigeria without biased And we did. We choose obi but due to tribalism the South west refused and supported a man who is sick mentally and physically...national anthem was going on he wasn't Aware
If you can't handover your daughter or sister for Marriage to a sick old man with dementia not physically and mentally fit. Some one not aware of his environment but still you want to support same man to head 220 million Nigeria at this point of our critical situation then may you and your family know no peace
If you are emotionally attached to your tribe, religion and political leaning to the point that the truth and justice becomes secondary consideration then your education is useless, your exposure is useless. If you cannot reason beyond petty sentiments. You are liability to man kind
Everyone should retweet and save this so that our future kids will know that at some point in the history of Nigeria we were caught in between the Devil( tinubu, atiku) and redemption( obi) But the South west spoilt dragged us back because of tribalism |
Politics › Re: Peter Obi Wins FCT Presidential Election by Izongdave(m): 11:47am On Feb 28, 2023 |
LordAdam16: I don't think there will be a run off.
No President has failed to get 25% in the FCT. So this legal dispute has never cropped up before. But the Courts can interpret it any way they choose. Since the Tinubu camp seems to hold sway in the Judiciary, they should get a favorable disposition. He got 25%+ in more than 25 states.
That said, if some states are canceled, we might head to a run off, regardless of judgment.
Unfortunately, the law is also not clear on who goes to runoff. The Aso Rock cabal and powerful Northern and Southern interests will want it to be between APC and PDP. But the APC camp will want it to be between APC and LP. Obi will sweep the South and part of NC, but the core North will vote Tinubu en masse. Not even Atiku can convince them to vote Obi. That's when you'll start seeing 1.5m votes from each Northern state, although the South can play that game as well.
-Lord I've never seen a submission this intelligent and free of bias in Nairaland |

Your Ile Ife heritage clearly makes you a yoruba indigene, no amount of abuse can deny you this, you may feel indebted to vote a yoruba man for the presidency... Probably one you're convinced has paid his dues I wish to implant in your heart today, that making Nigeria of our dream, requires more than the service of a tribesman, but that of the compationate few left in our dear country; those with the character expected of a leader, the alertness that even some glorious past can't guarantee. You may have been abused severally and in an unacceptable manner, but beyond forgiveness I pray you to disappoint your abusers by Voting Peter Obi 4 president that we may have a good shot at that dream of a prosperous Nigeria |
