I doubt Peter Obi himself did that project tho. Might be someone did it in his name.

No way Obi would do something like that. It's just not possible but I might be wrong sha.
Even if he did it, does he owe them anything?

He is not a Senator, HoA, Governor or anything.

How this news wan help our fight against corruption, or even the country?

For me, they are both announcements and are irrelevant documents.

“However, to the shock of many Nigerians, Umahi returned to FEC with a memo in March 2024 seeking the approval of N1.06 trillion that would be paid to Chagoury’s firm for the first phase of the project which is wholly in Lagos.

“This pilot phase was to begin from the edge of Chagoury’s Eko Atlantic City on Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, and terminate at the Lekki Deep Sea Port, Ibeju-Lekki, a distance of 47.47km. Till date, the Tinubu administration has refused to reveal how much the project will cost in total. Umahi, who even came on Channels Television recently, evaded questions as to the total cost of the project.

“But if 47.47km costs about N1.06tn, it means each kilometre is being built at N22.5 billion or $18 million. For a project that is going to be 700km, it means the total cost could be N15.7 trillion or $12.56 billion, which is higher than previous estimates.

We have seen numerous instances where after a woman loses her husband, the in-laws invade the home and kick the woman out of her home. In other instances, they deny her any inheritance or property. The idea behind this tradition is to protect the widow and ensure she continues to be taken care of.

Last year, a Lagos High court ruled in favor of Bianca Ojukwu in a suit filed by Ikemba’s brothers against her in the management of Ikemba’s estate. Last week, an Enugu High Court threw out a suit filed by a man claiming to be the first son of Ikemba because it lacked merit.

Betty is smart, she knows what she is doing.
Was this "handing over" done for Bianca; an Igbo woman who married an Igbo man?

Can you admit at least that the picture and event been sensationalized is misrepresented? Can you admit that Betty is not married to Prof. Wole Akeredolu?

If the Akeredolus say they want Betty to remain in the family band have no problem with the custom then there is no issue.

Also, if you are unaware, there are traditional rites in Igbo land that are still done in a woman’s compound after her passing or the passing of her husband. Not every event or traditional rite occurs in the husband’s house.
Sadly, there is no where we can see the Akeredolus saying they wanted Betty back..

And yes, you are right. There are traditions that covers a woman after she is married, but what Betty and the younger brother did is at the discretion of the Husband’s family. It is THEIR WIFE. She married into the Akeredolu family, so why is her family handing her to another Akeredolu.

I am here to learn, not argue

And yes, i admit that the picture circulating was misrepresented

To be very clear, Betty isn’t married to Prof. Wole Akeredolu or any Akeredolu outside of her late husband Rotimi.

Make una calm down and ask questions about things you are trying unsure about.

The occasion being isn’t a marriage, it is not even “nkuchi” sef. It is called Mgbafu Mkpe..

Ask questions before making conclusive statements about people, especially derogatory statements.
Did Betty marry an Igbo man, that they are doing Mgbafu Mkpe?

Abi Ondo people no get tradition?

If a Yoruba lady marries an Igbo man, and he dies, can her family come back and do any tradition outside that of her late bethroded husband?

The statement clarified that the rituals were customary for the wife of a deceased person in the Igbo culture, and that during the ceremony, Mrs Anyanwu-Akeredolu was handed over to Prof Wole Akeredolu as per tradition.
