We should continue subsidising the middle class foreign travel and Educational expenses??
Nigerian student paid more in foreign tuition fee than the amount budgeted for education in the federal budget.
Na, As a nation you need to choose your priorities. I don't even understand your point sef. I supported the removal, but with obviously nothing done to cushion the effect, rather we are seeing 110 billion naira pallative for less than 500 people is senseless. If the dollar gets 1000 naira next week, NNPCL must increase the price of fuel. So, what is really the benefit of a common man in all these? You are actually explaining in the wrong place. Maybe you should go to the market or a public bus and tell them to choose their priorities If we check well, we go see say you dey abroad. |

I know a guy who works in a good company and doubles as a youth pastor in one of these Pentecostal churches . Recently on his way from work, he saw people stranded in bus stops and decided to assist them with a lift when he confirmed they were going towards same route. He dropped all four of them and their respective bus stops and headed home.
When he reached home he found out one of the guys he helped had stolen his laptop which he placed on the back seat when he left work. Na so dem move N600k worth of Laptop just like that.

GloriousGbola: 1) NNPCL has a price template. The price varies across Nigeria (due to delivery costs)
2) nnpc has fixed the rates it's stations and franchises can sell it's own product.
3) deviations from this are grounds for disciplinary action. I have repeatedly seen different stories in the news and on this platform about higher prices of fuel, but every nnpc in lagos is still selling at 488.
To the best of my knowledge though I would have to enquire, there is no current approval to sell over 600. Enquire first then |

BlueRayDick: The thing is those of us not supporting subsidy removal are not doing because we hate the government or we are oblivious of the fact that Nigeria is broke, instead we recognize the fact that removing subsidy will not solve our problems. We know the poor man will still suffer while they will keep sharing whatever savings they make from the removal at the national and state levels.
U can see them settling themselves and even made provision for NJC such that even If u go to court to scuttle the process, the judiciary won't bat an eyelid cos they are also beneficiaries.
We are in for a long ride in this administration sha, make we just brace ourselves up for impact I should pay tax, then someone else would be using 70 billion as palliatives? Nonsense |

afrodoc2: They should have fixed electricity nationally and then improved transport network in the major cities first. Then when the fuel burden on the average citizen is lower you remove subsidy.
There are 2 problems with that. 1) I don’t know just how broke the country is. 2) Those measures would probably take 2-3 years which might make it too close to the next election cycle with potential for electoral backlash.
Those measures should have been in place before removing the subsidy IMO though. With the way Nigerians depend on fuel to do pretty much everything I am actually impressed with their resilience in these times. I understand you. But at what point can we fix electricity nationally and even the transport network? Buhari used 8 years, and he couldn't. |

The idea of subsidy removal is that market forces is what will determine the price of the product. no more pegging of price. That's what we are seeing now. Market forces does the exact opposite in Nigeria If there are 10 importers in Nigeria, they just need to come together and fix anything they like. |

larride: I said Tinubu should wait and access things himself before removing the subsidy, that way he can access the impact of the removal and how to mitigate against the severity of the impact on the majority of the people.
Just announcing subsidy removal the day he was sworn in without critically accessing the situation is reckless.
Its been more than a month and no measures is in sight. You never answer the question naa.. What period should he have removed it? Because what you'll see is a sharp rise from 189 to 617, if he removed it today. People would have endured if they didn't see frivolous spendings from his tenure in less than 2 months. Relax fellas, and follow these steps. 1) Input 3 wrong trials for your SIM PIN. Make sure it enters the PUK lock 2) Get another phone and call the customer care of the blocked sim. 3) Follow those nonsense prompts till you get to the option where it offers to help with PIN and PUK issues 4) Select the PUK retrieval option. 5) It will ask for the phone number. Input the number of the blocked SIM 6) It would ask for the serial number of the SIM. Take away the SIM, and input the number at the back (I think they are 11 or so) 7) The stupid prompt will give you the PUK for free 8 ) Go back to the blocked sim and input that PUK, and you have opened it. Like I said, the only advantage is that the thief may not have your phone number. I hope with these few points of mine, i have been able to convince and not confuse you that SIM lock is almost useless. Thank you |
