larride: Haba, this is not true. Shettima was vocal about equipping the army and talking about how our military are under equipped to fight the scourge.
From 2013 to 2019 when he left as Governor, he was the one paying for the Civiliaj JTF that number in excess of 20k force without a dime from the FG.
The deradicalisation of terrorist started under GEJ and it's a worldwide known counter terrorism ways. Why kill those that want to surrender and lay down their arms instead of deradicalising them after going through the necessary procedures?
In Borno, CAN President, Catholic leaders and the likes still appreciate Shettima for the work he did in that state. Every church that those bastard burnt during his tenure were rebuilt. Yeah. I was mixing the two She's together. No vex |

GloriousGbola: There is very little Soludo can do, imho.
ESN is thriving because of endemic problems. Wealth amidst poverty. Poverty with no path to self reliance. Proliferation of firearms.
ESN is just another chapter in the story of security issues in the SE.
I remember when kidnapping was at a level where no one travelled home for xmas
I remember osisikanu
When I was in uni, robbery was so bad that Bakassi boys were created.
ESN and UGM are about opportunists tapping into the wellspring of underemployment, bitterness and frustration.
Unless Soludo can make real and sustainable improvements to the economy that carry everybody, this story will not change If he wants to fight them, beg them, create jobs so they can stop, it's a step in the right direction. But bros, if he spends 8 years and security doesn't improve, he's no better than Willie that left |

chrisooblog: Honestly I completely agree with most people's sentiments that the APC administration has failed in the most important sectors so it would be morally wrong to hand them the reins of the presidency next year.
The dilemma for me is the proposed people who want to take over don't exactly feel me with confidence.
Atiku is part of the old guard that caused our current situation.
Obi plenty talk less substance.
Don't ever the electorate next year cus however you pick is fraught with risk. I don't even have faith in the others. I'm not seeing Obi as the saviour. But we cannot continue this way. It is because parties don't get any reward for bad governance, that's why the country and many states are in ruins. Let them just rest first. That's the first step to redemption |

afrodoc2: His approach might have been wrong but by the time he became governor Boko Haram had passed what any governor could handle. I don't know the man so i am not holding brief for him specifically but trying to explain the nature of the beast.
By 2012 onwards only the President and the Nigerian Chiefs of Staff (Army and Airforce especially) and the rest of the top security big wigs could have done anything about that organization. Lack of leadership at the national level and corruption by the generals was what led to all the failures. That is my view anyway.
The time to stop Boko Haram at the local level was 2002-2006 during Ali Modu Sheriff's tenure when they were still fighting other sects and stoning the police not 2011 when they were bombing military barracks in Abuja and breaking 100 of their soldiers out of prison in Bauchi. Okay doc, I agree with you. Let's not blame him for it. But the second issue is that the failure called Sheriff, is behind this one two. So if Tinubu wins, Sheriff is still directly or Indirectly involved with governance |

afrodoc2: You are comparing Boko Haram a major terrorist organization with serious links to global terrorism and multiple victories against the Nigerian Army in its CV BEFORE Shettima became governor to IPOB? A major terrorist organisation with serious links to Global terrorism, and a sitting governor was negotiating for Amnesty? IPOB and BH are proscribed as terrorist groups. He wasn't ruthless about it. Rather he was the chief negotiator and spokesperson during his tenure |

I understand why people are looking out for a change e dey affect me too.
I buy baby food of N6,000 every two weeks. And pampers of N12,000 every 6 weeks. How much be the salary?
Unfortunately, whether its Obi or Tinubu or Atiku, nothing will change. I have made peace with that. I know decamping is an option, but at least politicians would be aware that failure means rejection. Maybe people wey dey support APC dey gain something like Portable. Me I no gain anything oh. I go think of my welfare first, before my tribe |

Itsrm: I was discussing with a colleague in Lagos yesterday. I wanted to know if there's overwhelming support for any particular aspirant.
He said its really difficult to say. That while you have die hard supporters of Tinubu on one hand, there are a lot of others who are pro OBI and that the Atiku faithfuls are also there.
Said maybe as the election draws closer there'll be more clarity but for now, it's difficult to say any aspirant has overwhelming support.
, when the 50k lands, remember me in your kingdom
**And in case it matters to anyone, he's Yoruba.** He said Tinubu will win Lagos with over 500k votes. Funnily enough, in the whole SW, Obi's largest votes will come from Lagos. You can take that to the bank. Lagos has more Christians than any other SW state Lagos has a large number of other tribes than any SW state. But Tinubu go win with over 500k votes.... Him go see the score. Na here we dey |

He needed surgery like 7 years back to the tune of half a million dollars (he did not have medical coverage in the USA) so her mother foot the bill. Her mother never got a diploma beyond secondary school and does not run any noticeable business that could amass such. But somehow this girl is convinced her mother is the real deal because most of the property the parents own is in her name. Do you see a connection? Meanwhile, the same girl has property in Baltimore and London in her name. When I point it to her, she still does not see that the same could apply to her mum. Did I answer the question? The ruling class will keep pauperizing the masses and there will always be foot soldiers to sell the unsaleable.
My closest friend attended one of the most expensive universities in Nigeria and he regaled me with the doings of the children of the ruling class—Senators kids and the likes.
A particular Senator's kid sold off two very expensive vehicles owned by his father and the crazy thing was—the Senator had no idea as those cars were cars shared amongst all Senators after budgets are signed into law. No one could have said it better |
