Ya’ll can keep calling us whatever name you like, we will not fight your battles for you.
History 101
Year 1953 During the 1953 Constitution Conference in London, Awolowo and his AG group brought a motion to include secession and right to self determination into the constitution of the soon to be independent country. Guess which group rose against the motion? Azikwe and his NCNC and then convinced Ahamdu Bello NPC against secession clause and even petitioned the British who threaten Awolowo and his AG of treason if they didn’t drop the secession motion.
Year 1957 Again, Ahmadu Bello proposed to have the North secede after independence, yet Azikwe vehemently oppose the secession clause and it was dropped by Ahmadu Bello
Year 1959 Going into election to form parliament of the new independent country. Azikwe NCNC decided to form alliance with Ahamdu Bello NPC instead of Awolowo AG. NCNC and NPC alliance worked and they won and control the parliament. Slave 101
Year 1973 During the 1973 constitution drafting and Awolowo was asking for special status for Lagos, guess who was backed by his Northern Lord opposed giving Lagos a special status - Azikwe.
Year 1979 During the 1979 general elections, guess who had the opportunity to form an alliance with the Yorubas again to control parliament? Azikiwe NPP. Guess who he form alliance with to win majority of the parliament? Shehu Shagari NPN. Again Awolowo UPN became the opposition in the parliament. During the Presidential election, Azikiwe NPP refused to form alliance with Awolowo UPN and settle for Vice President. Instead he went ahead to chose a Northerner as his Vice President candidate while Awolowo chose an Easterner. Surprisingly Shehu Shagari chose Alex Ekwueme as his Vice President and they won the election. SLAVE 103
Year 1993 When Babaginda annulled Abiola election. Yorubas declared war. We took our pen and voices to newspaper and radio shouting for our stolen mandate to be returned back. Abiola died in prison and his wife was also murdered yet we kept on. We did not burn the country to the ground or set our states on fire.
Year 1999 Return to democracy and both political parties agreed to present a Yoruba man as their presidential candidate. The Yorubas candidate was Olu Falae. Guess who the Igbos supported? Obasanjo who was being backed heavily by the northerners. Obasanjo won and again Yorubas went into opposition.
Year 2007 Guess who the Igbos voted massively for again? A Northerner.
Year 2019 After screaming of marginalisation and Hausa/Fulani Islamization agenda, guess who the Igbos voted massively for again? ATIKU, A Northerner.
History has continuously shown that if any region is to be called Northern slave, it should be the Eastern region. You people have being forming alliance with the Northerners against the West since this country gained its independence, yet we took our side of the divide and carry on with the opposition every time we find ourselves there.
For 16years 1999-2015, it has always been a collabo of East and North candidate winning election, did anybody call ya’ll slaves?
Meanwhile today June 12 and Abiola has been immortalised. June 12 is now Democracy day. We are now having infrastructural development in our region, connecting our cities and opening up our states to develop which your region and leaders refused to do when ya’ll held sway from 1999-2015 at the center.
You can keep calling us names you like, the Presidency will swing back to the South in 2023. APC will field a southern candidate. Hopefully the South West gets the APC ticket so we can continue our push to continue to develop our region while you keep burning down your own states and region.
Meanwhile your eternal party PDP will most likely field Atiku as its Presidential candidate again in 2023 and we already know how your region will vote.
We know which region is the Northern Slave and coward.
So, the north, in the person of Obasanjo ruled Nigeria from 1999-2007?
Not trying to be tribalistic, but the South West just wants to be clever by half. If you reject Obasanjo as a westerner, what region should we put him?
At least the zoning issh isn't constitutional, and some APC big wigs want it thrown open.
Since 1999,
South West - 8 years North West - 8 years (by 2023) South South - 6 years North Central - nil North East - nil South East - nil
If you guys won't throw to your fellow southerners, abeg make Una let everybody queue for anybody back.
Ladyhippolyta88: @izzou,how is it Twitter's fault if the government cannot communicate in a language the citizens will understand?
When a government is misunderstood it is their job to make the people understand them. It is no fault of the citizens so the citizens should not be dragged into such mess to begin with.
The truth is the media is a problem lately. They twist facts and misinform the people.
Buhari should have considered the fact that people depend on Twitter in this counyfor Various reasons. That's my annoyance.
But you see Jack, the moment he decided to vet what leaders pass on his platform, then he should get ready for however they choose to react.
From the video, you can see that INEC delegates cane to report about the continuous burning of their offices in the south east. Buhari was talking to those responsible for the arson, not the Igbos.
The law states that the if the INEC deems it inconvenient to conduct elections, the president would have to continue ruling till it is convenient. If Electoral offices are being burnt, Buhari can't conduct any election, and you will still scream that he wants a third term.
Now, did Jack understand all these? Did he read the remaining tweets or he just followed the data from the report button?
When Jack did it to Trump, you all cheered him on, giving examples about how the site has rules. But when a government is grossly misunderstood and misinterpreted? What do you expect them to do?
Buhari shouldn't have banned Twitter. But Jack already asked for it
Ladyhippolyta88: You are not making any sense.Twitter is a private company enabled by free market in any capitalist and democratic society.
Twitter does not force anyone to join their platform they have their rules which everyone must obey,Trump violated their rules and used their platform for hate. The crime that happened in January 6th can implicate Big Tech if it was worse than that so they had to protect themselves and users to curb hate and crime which is why they took action on Trump or anyone that violates their rules.
Only fringe countries will ban Twitter not a sane democratic one and Nigeria itself claims to be a democracy as undemocratic as Russia may be Twitter is not banned, even in Turkey till date some people in China and North Korea still access Twitter because the internet is impossible to ban.
What he did to Trump was right and Trump till date cannot live without Twitter he tried entering last month and was banned again. The world has gotten to a point where dictatorship is not fancy in Myanmar people still access the internet despite crackdown the war on the internet is a war government cannot win.
If you think this is a good idea wait till they ban other social media platforms,Shey Facebook don delete that post they will still try themselves that is how communism/dictatorship starts. There is nothing to applaud here because you think they were unfair to Trump,Trump is not above the law and he got what he deserved many people would have been banned for less of what Trump did but he played wrong in January and forced their hands.
No sane democratic country will ban social media because government itself benefits from it.It is not a decision that should be applauded.
At what point did I applaud the decision?
If you don't understand the genesis of a discourse, don't jump on it
Havertz10: i'm not supporting Buhari, Nigeria is system of governance is the problem, we will get a new president 2023 and it will still be the same issues
Why can't you see it?
How can a state be dependent on crude oil prices to pay workers salaries? Is that normal? They aren't creating jobs or enabling environments for businesses to grow and thrive, most Nigerians want to work but nobody wants to start a business, every company is someone's business that they started to make money, if more people were opening businesses that were self sufficient and employing labour, our economy will grow but banks wouldn't give our loans cause people wouldn't pay, people go to school and learn to be servants instead of entrepreneurs
We have been pointing at leaders since 1960, look at the mirror
Open business, Open business ...
You lots screaming open a business don't know the challenges of running one in Nigeria.
The environment for a business to thrive in Nigeria is discouraging. From thinking about how to get power, to security, to bad roads.....the list is endless.
Most people resort to importation because local production is difficult and more expensive.
But let me guess...It's the fault of the citizens, not leaders.
Havertz10: Buhari's actions only exposes the mindset of his government, if anything jack has accomplished a lot for Nigerians by getting Buhari's government to ban twitter, the ban wouldn't accomplish anything, Twitter wouldn't change their policy or principles, una like to think of una selves as big fish but we actually aren't , also a fair percentage of social media users in Nigeria are learned, it wouldn't take long for VPN utilization to spread and become norm
Nigeria isn't in the top 10 list of countries with the highest users, we aren't the fastest growing Twitter market in Africa, when they took their headquarters to ghana, most of una assumed that it was supposed to be Nigeria but as usual our population always gives Nigerians the illusion that we are special and valuable but we aren't
Maybe if buhari knew all these, he wouldn't assume that his actions would be anything but comedic
Well, Buhari has just cut the tape for any other government to ban Jack, and heaven wouldn't fall.
If Jack can use his feelings to decide what flies on twitter (case of Trump), then any president can use his feelings to decide if the site is a threat to his country's national unity.
madridguy: No one is paying anyone and stop preaching life and humanity come first like a hypocrite. Can the Ipob terrorists organization twit about going to the USA to bring the head of the USA president and still remain on the twitter platform? Or can they twit or post on Facebook death threat to queen of England ? Let be sincere with ourselves.
I can bet with my life, no western country will accept 5% of what the IPOB terrorist organization are doing.
Was it not Buhari that carried himself and tweeted about the civil war and how he would teach them in the language they understand?
Even if he was referring to IPOB, is that the best way to pass a message?
At first, I actually thought it was an insult to describe the 15 million voters of APC as stupid, but then, I think it's a fact.
You guys have a way of deviating from the point to the wilderness
