In football, you don't use just one season to grade a player world class. He shone at Monaco, but he didn't produce world class displays as normal world class players. He scored 15 goals in the league and 6 goals in UCL.
Now that's enviable for a teenager, but is that world class? No.
Even if he did score say 30goals each in both competition, will he still be world class? No. Reason is because he will need to produce similar performances in more seasons to come and at top competitions to be regarded as a world class player. Else he'll just be a one season wonder.

I believe elite player and world class players are two different things.
And yes, for you to become a world class player, you need to be playing in the biggest available competition (meaning you need to be at a top club) and also winning the biggest trophies available(tho not a must to win all, but if you win all it helps), while displaying top class performances consistently.

There's a reason nobody send immobile even as he won the golden boot above them messi and Ronaldo. And even if he does it again, nobody go still send am till he goes to a big club and replicate such achievement

Two issues with Mbappe's response
1. He didn't have to bring up Benzema, he has barely played with him
2. He shouldn't have defended himself like he was on trial, it made him look more guilty.

Sometimes players do this kind of things, a teammate is being celebrated and is on a hattrick and would be spoken about, but you instead of giving them that support you hinder it.


Mbappe is either playing dumb about the whole Giroud - Benzema saga or he suddenly isn't aware that a winger or a supporting striker "supports" the striker and not play middle man like he is a midfielder.

Maybe he thinks Benzema will treat him like he did Ronaldo, and drop deep creating space for him to come in and score, the exact thing Giroud did for him in the WC.

This talk of Giroud always staying up top is a BS lie
