Studying effectively is a good way to increase your grades. However, do you know how to study effectively? Below are some tips that would help you. 1. Make sure you’re not hungry : A hungry man cannot understand what he’s studying. I don’t know about you but I find it difficult to study when I am hungry. Hunger makes you unable to concentrate and concentration is key when you want to study. 2. Remove distractions: Remove distractions when you’re about to study. If you know that a beep from your phone will distract you, you should put your phone in silence or keep it out of your reach. 3. Use a good library: If your home or hostel isn’t conducive for reading, you should try using a good library. A good library is one that is silent, conducive and well-equipped with books. The distractions in the library are minimal and this would allow you to study well. 4. Be disciplined : Try to study on a regular basis. Studying for 30 or 20 minutes daily is better than studying for 5 hours at a stretch once a week but don’t be bothered about taking breaks once in a while though . 5. Create your own note: Write down sailent points in your study note as you read. Also, writing down what you read helps you to recollect it faster at a later date. 6. Revise your study notes: Do a quick revision of your study note after studying. This will help you retain the information for a longer period of time. 7. Music: You can try some music if it works for you. 8. Answer questions based on what you studied : When you answer questions, you know how much of the material that you really understand. 9. The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps will need N310m to feed and administer drugs to dogs that will be deployed in states for the 2019 elections. The Nigeria Police Force will also require N7m to feed 50 horses that would be used for patrol during the elections which will take place between February 16 and March 2, 2019. The information is contained in the 2018 virement proposal sent to the National Assembly for the 2019 general election by President Muhammadu Buhari. The total police budget for the elections stands at N30.5bn; the Office of the National Security Adviser, N4.2bn; the Department of State Services, N12.2bn; NSCDC, N3.5bn and the Nigeria Immigration Service, N2.6bn. Buhari, in a letter he wrote to the National Assembly on Tuesday, requested a total virement of N228.8bn, largely allocated to new projects “inserted” in the 2018 by the National Assembly to offset part of the proposed cost of funding the 2019 general elections. The balance of N242bn needed to fund the 2019 elections will be captured in next year’s budget. According to the details of the 2018 virement request the President submitted to the National Assembly, the NSCDC needs N1.2bn this year to prepare for the elections.
