Foreign Affairs / Re: 20 Countries That Owe US Money by jabbo(m): 12:14pm On Apr 09
You have just succeeded in giving false information. This data you quoted is the debt owed by the United States and not those owing the United States. Moderator may need to bring down this post because it's entirely false. Even the original writer of that article in Yahoo Finance, Zarah Hamid, did not even know what she was writing. How can countries who are holders of your debt (bought United States Government issued Bonds) be referred to as owing the United States? Shame!

Have you heard of Odi massacre before? Maybe you are a kid. The military should just attempt to get the actual perpetrators instead of Attacking innocent people which is often what usually happens.

Namaster:
People on this thread keep saying "they don buy market". Only people who don't know the people of the South South say this. Especially the ijaws.

The military don't fuuuck with them. The military only intimidate people in the SW and SE. They don't Bleep with the North and SS.

These guys were ambushed in a creek. SS is filled with creeks that are deadly to outsiders, including the military.

We all saw the way the Nigerian Delta Avengers blew out the brains of the Navy team that went near them a few years ago.

The vast majority of Nigeria's downstream resources are in Lagos, including the mighty Dangote refinery.

A couple of departments directly involved in their regulation can be in Lagos, close to the businesses they're regulating.

The headquarters remain in Abuja.

Perfectly logical.

Did you even read it? We are talking about Upstream Regulatory Commission. Why not Niger Delta since that's where the operations take place.

You are not 100% correct. Going to Maiduguri via Bauchi - Darazo - Kari - Potiskum - Damaturu- Maiduguri. One has no business with Azare. Because you divert from Kari - Misau to get to Azare.

Religion / Re: Does The Bible Really Condemn Marrying More Than One Wife? by jabbo(m): 12:33pm On Mar 13, 2022
Do you think David, Solomon, Jacob and co who had more than a wife will not enter God's kingdom? I do not know myself and just having that thought since they ended up with more than wife, which meant all the other wives the slept with other than their first wives was an act of adultery. I would not mind if you give me your thoughts. God bless you.

Righteousness2:
GOD'S Standard from the beginning remains One man one wife.
GOD'S Standard is HE hates Divorce.

Jacob, Solomon , Religion, Society or whoever are not the standard. The Word of GOD is the Standard .

Read Matthew 19: 4-9 to know GOD'S Standard!

And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them Male and Female .
(Not Male and Females or Vice versa)

And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his Wife(Not Wives): and they twain shall be one flesh?

Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?

He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.

And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

Anything apart from GOD'S Standard is SIN. It is Fornication, Adultery and Man/ woman Decieving themselves!

OLULAW:

Aboki, Gambari, Barkin Zuwo, You’re an absolute idiot. Your stupidity knows no bound. Do you need to study in Nigerian universities to have knowledge of those institutions. What is knowledge? How do we gain knowledge? What are the various forms or types of knowledge? How much of philosophy did you actually study to make that utterance? You spent a semester in UNILAG and extrapolated that you have knowledge of Southern universities, is that enough or even requisite for drawing that conclusion? I do not blame you, I blame Awolowo and Zik who should have left your rag-headed ancestors groping and wallowing in the desert as bandits, herders, and marauders that Hausa-Fulanis are. I bet after your Master’s you’ll return to UNIMAID as VC.

You got scholarship to do your masters in the UK? How is it going? Are you in Plymouth, East London, Wolverhampton or Luton university? You come across like one of those mofos attending ex polytechnics and bragging I’m doing my masters in the UK. Brag about this before your fellow herders. Yorubas and Igbos have been graduating from Oxon, Cantab, London, Dunelm, Exon, Soton, etc., long before your gworo eating, red-tooth ancestors, including Balewa, having failed their examinations, received certificates of attendance in UK institutions.

Fool. Did I hit you below the belt? A semester is enough for me to draw conclusion that there is nothing special about your Southern Universities. I can go to any of your schools and excel with my eyes closed. I have seen many illiterate Southerners and I am still seeing them every day. I have lived many years in the South to know that even the so called educated ones are just empty upstairs. It is such arrogance of people like you who are obviously empty upstairs and can't engage in an intellectual conversation that helped in reinforcing the view I have about your so called schools. And which school did you attend in the UK? I am sure you are attending one of those polytechnics converted to universities like the one Kemi Adeosun attended and so you have to mention it. Goodluck as you eke out a living from fraud because that's what most of you Southerners who live abroad do. And as for Balewa you mentioned, your entire generation until Christ's return would never match his achievement. No need to continue arguing with a faeces eating nincompoop son of a bitch who has not amounted to anything in life and is frustrated.

I didn't study in any Nigerian university. And, to be honest with you, I have little to no respect for qualifications awarded by sex and cash for grades Nigerian Universities. That said, in my estimation, Federal Universities in South West and South Eastern Nigeria until mid (maybe up to the late) 1990s were better than those in Northern Nigeria by any stretch of the imagination. Things haven't improved in Nigeria since then. So, the downward trend is no brainer. If anything, gaining a PhD from Southern Nigeria Universities, in my estimation, shores up any deficits and deficiencies in the previously earned degrees from the "ba turenchi" Northern Nigerian universities.

You are in a delusional state, speaking about a subject matter you have not experienced or have knowledge of. It would not be out of place if I say that your case is beyond redemption. But seek help, you may be lucky and get cured from your delusion. I started my master's in economics in Unilag and left after a semester when I got a full scholarship to do masters in the UK. I can therefore tell you cartegorically that there is nothing special about Southern Universities. From the entrance exams to the only semester exams I did, everything was just easy-peasy.

OLULAW:
1. Samuel Ortom (Benue State) He earned his Doctor of Philosophy, Ph.D from the Commonwealth University, Belize through distance learning in 2014. Degree mill PhD.

2. Abdullahi Ganduje(Kano State) He returned to Ahmadu Bello University to receive…his doctorate in Public Administration from University of Ibadan in 1993. ABU, reportedly has always been a solid university. Even so, I’m personally never impressed with the educational system in the North. You could hold LLB from there in Islamic Law, studying sharia and other nonsensical stuff. How that compares with LLB from Ife or Lagos is no brainier. It doesn’t.

3. Benedict Ayade (Cross River State) Believed as the most educated sitting Governor in Nigeria, Ben Ayade was born on March 2nd 1968. He is a native of Obudu local government area. He earned his first B.Sc. (Honours) from University of Ibadan in 1988. He proceeded to obtain his M.Sc in Microbiology in 1980 and his Ph.D in Environmental Microbiology from the same University in 1994. He also holds a Master of Business Administration certificate from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State and LLB Law Degree from Delta State University. also worked as a lecturer at Delta State University, Abraka, where he was subsequently appointed professor. Solid in his scientific educational pursuits. The MBA and LLB seems a spoiler for me, though. It sounds like army generals in the 80s and 90s dubiously gaining LLBs from Nigerian universities whilst serving in war torn Liberia, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, etc. Any of you in lectures and exam halls with Oladipo Diya who “studied” and gained his LLB whilst serving as a top military brass?

4. Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia State) Okezie Victor Ikpeazu was born on October 18, 1964 in Obingwa Local Government of Abia State. He earned his first B.Sc. (Hons.) degree from University of Maiduguri where he studied Clinical Biochemistry. He returned to the University for his M.Sc Degree in Biochemical Toxicology after his National Youth Service and graduated in 1990. He obtained a Doctorate Degree, Ph.D in Biochemical Pharmacology from the University of Calabar at 30 in 1994. Solid all round.

5. Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti State) Fayemi earned his degrees in History, Politics and International Relations from the University of Lagos and University of Ife. He is Chairman of the Governor’s Forum. He obtained his Doctorate program in War studies from King’s College London, specializing in civil-military relations. I won’t expect anything less from the lad from Christ’s School Ado Ekiti. The old Ondo State produced the highest number of professors, nationally. He capped his educational career with a PhD from the prestigious King’s College, University of London.

6. Babagana Zulum (Borno State)
Zulum completed his primary and secondary school in 1985 and proceeded to study at the University Of Maiduguri, where he obtained a degree in Agriculture Engineering. He obtained his Master’s degree in the same course in 1998 from the University of Ibadan and completed a PhD in soil and Water Engineering in 2009 from the University of Maiduguri. He became a professor in University of Maiduguri in 2010 where he had started as an assistant lecturer since 2000. He is a certified COREN Engineer. Impressive excepting my reservations about the standard of education in Northern Nigeria. Also, becoming a professor within 10 years seems to undermine that prestigious position. It’s not attainable at OAU, UNN, UNILAG, UI, etc.

You have to be an ethnic bigot to have written the stuff above. So Ikepeazu, even though his bachelor's and master's degree were obtained from University of Maiduguri, is okay with you. Zulum obtained his bachelor's from University of Maiduguri and master's from University of Ibadan, but you think it is not okay as you doubt Northern education. Similarly, Ganduje, even though his PhD was awarded by University of Ibadan, but because his bachelor's and master's degree were from ABU, so it is not okay as it is a Northern University, huh? Going by your logic, you should also question the quality of Ikepeazu's degrees.

I know your type and I can see it right through your eyes that you are a bigot who thinks that there are no brilliant Northerners, and that the ones who are successful are so because they were educated in Northern schools. I have travelled far and wide within Nigeria and can tell you that Southern schools are no better. I have given task at work to some graduates from these schools you brag about and the output, terrible. That doesn't mean I have not seen ones who have impressed me. But as for you, everyone with a Northern education is bad.

Romance / Re: Am I Making A Mistake? by jabbo(m): 8:35am On Dec 17, 2019
dannyla:
I opened a new account to remain anonymous.
This story is a bit long but pls bear with me.

I met this man almost 2yrs ago at an event a friend invited me to. The next week, he collected my number from my friend and called me, we began talking from there and agreed to go on a date. He proposed marriage to me on the first date which I rejected. I told him that I can't marry outside my church and from the little I've heard from him, our life dreams differ. I decided to cut him off from that day and I stayed away for about 3months. Meanwhile he got my friend to introduce him to my sis, mum and another friend who happened to be from his place, I'll call her Grace.
He made them all aware of his intent towards me and my stand and asked for their help to change my mind. Grace became his biggest ally and convinced me to have another date. He asked that we date for a while and see if we can work out our differences. During the date I noticed he has a very hot and quick temper and he listens to gossip a lot so I do tell Gracethat I don't see a future with him but he was too persistent, Grace always had words of encouragement and considering the fact that for some strange reason, it was mainly married men always approach me for a relationship with stories of how they got married to a wrong woman and they are or are almost divorced, dating a single man with no kids was very tempting and I decided to give it a try.

He asked me to tell him everything about me so there are no secrets between us and I did. Starting from secondary school to that day, I told him everything, from my first kiss, the colleague who tried to rape me, my ex who lied about his marital status and disvirgined me etc. he did the same too and I felt a burden roll off my shoulder.

Few days later I began to notice changes in him especially towards my business. I thrive in a male dominated industry in a ratio of 9men to 1woman. He asked me to show him the pictures of my colleagues which I did, he also asked if they make passes at me which I said is almost inevitable but my boundaries are clear and rigid.

Fast forward to now. I noticed that whenever I drop my phone, he goes through it. Facebook, sms, WhatsApp etc. He even picks my call when I'm not close to the phone. He asked me about a certain colleague who cracks dirty jokes like how I rushed to get married (I told him I'm already married). I didn't think much about it.

He later began to complain about my partners and how I'm sleeping with them like the prostitute I am, called me an unrepentant liar, unsubmisive, manipulating etc. Said he regrets asking for my hand at all and he's just waiting forthe day he'll catch me redhanded so he can dump my sorry a*s.
I told him to end it now cus I'm fed up, family came in and I later found out that Grace has been telling a lot of lies against hoping to get him for herself as well as hate filled advises from some aggrieved friends who felt ladies from my tribe are no good and just there to "chop money". Apologies were said and received and we continued.

Another time I visited him and we had an argument, he gave me several heavy knocks on my head and I developed a headache and began to insult him which resultedin more heavy knocks. I broke up with him and left. Later my mum called him to ask why he laid his hands on me, he denied it swearing with his life. Said I insulted him and he lost his temper and insulted me back that he's sorry. He began to drop messages everywhere and I eventually gave in.

3rd incident happened on our way back from an event. He saw a message from a colleague he told me to stop doing business with cus he feels the man has his eyes on me which is totally not true. He flared up, stopped the car and was even threatening to beat me up. I came down from his car and stood by the roadside. He came down too and gave me the insult of my life in full public view and glare and told me to enter the car which I refused. I had no money on me and had to beg a stranger for money. By that time he was coming back, he quickly took a picture of both of us and sent it to everybody of how he caught me in the act with my lover on the road. He called me and said that if he must marry me, I must break my business sim card and look for a wife friendly occupation or sit at home.

He later apologised over it. Meanwhile he and my sis don't flow as before as he once called her a prostitute.

I want to call it quits but everyone around me feels it's a mistake and he is saying everything out of anger and if I'm patient enough, he will change completely.

I must admit that he has changed alot since we met but the progress compared to the timeframe and the heat I face everyday is nothing to write home about.

He loves me to a fault and I don't know if I can find someone who loves me like him but his other attitude is sniffing life out of me. Do I stay or quit?
Thanks for reading and pardon any typos

Madam, the signs are all over the place. Red flag everywhere. If you know what is good for you, flee from that man and don't listen to what anyone would say. Otherwise, you would be signing up for a life of unhappiness.

Not saying is not possible, but saving £500-1000 won't buy that house. Let us assume he saves £1000 monthly for 36 months which is not realistic by the way because some months savings will be lower than £1000. Now £1000 X 36 months = £36,000. I do not think you can get the house in question at that amount, but I stand to be corrected. £36,000 is about N16,000,0000 +/-.

Education / BUK Students Produce Charcoal Briquettes, Make $1m Hult Prize Shortlist by jabbo(m): 10:35am On Jul 18, 2019
A team of three undergraduate students of Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has made it onto the 40 teams shortlisted for the $1 million Hult Prize, the world’s largest student competition. The competition is about creating market ready solutions to the pressing needs of humanity, while maintaining balance between profit and social impact. Its goals are in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations.

The students, Ubaidurrahman Sulaiman, Mustapha Sani Abdullahi and Abdulhafeez Adebayo, have won the contest at the campus level with their innovation and then at the regional level in Abuja.

The team would be competing at the global stage in the UK alongside 39 teams comprising of hundreds of students from many world class universities around the world.

The team invented a solar-powered device that allows for crop waste to be utilized for job creation in rural communities, through the production of charcoal briquettes.

They are presently running the pilot project in Kura Local Government Area of Kano State where they recycle the enormous crop waste from the massive agriculture in the area and then produce charcoal from it.

Speaking with our correspondent in Jos, the team’s captain, Sulaiman, said their innovation has the potential of creating about 10,000 jobs in the country in five years.

He said the team, named Brycoal Nigeria, is utilizing crop waste to produce charcoal briquettes for cooking and household use to improve livelihood. “Nigeria is plagued with poor waste management systems. That is what drew our attention to our project. With the increase in tree-felling/deforestation in the country for charcoal purposes, we used our background in engineering to find the solution to the problem by using crop waste to produce charcoal. “Sugarcane waste pollution, for instance is a problem many Nigerians know too well. But we have successfully closed three sugarcane waste dumpsites in Kano by processing the waste and converting it into charcoal briquettes. The charcoal briquettes we produce are exactly what this country needs. “Our product would tremendously decrease the dependency on wood charcoal. Our product also last longer than firewood and wood charcoal and it is also healthier to use because of its smokeless property,” the team captain said.

He however said the team is facing funding problem which led to the UK visa processing challenges it had. Sulaiman said the team single-handedly funded the project and called on Nigerians to patronize their charcoal briquettes to enable them raise funds not only to improve on the project but to also facilitate their participation in the UK contest in September.

It would be recalled that a team of Nigerian students, ImpactRays, made it to the final six-team shortlist last year, making it the only African team to achieve the feat.

PANAM PERCY PAUL

Legendary Nigerian gospel singer.
I don't think there is any lover of Nigerian gospel music from early times who doesn't know this man. Panam gave gospel music in Nigeria a future since the 90's even when it seems like there was none

Panam Percy Paul is Mbula by tribe from Adamawa State.
