Note that south Africa is not really a country built by blacks and for blacks and their negritude is in doubt.

Could Ethiopia?

Could any of the breakaway republics from Nigeria succeed in doing this?

I'm thinking of cultural dominance, music and the arts, scientific advancement, economy , military.

Well seeing that Nigeria's giant of Africa title is mainly attributed to its overpopulation and not industrialization,technology and infrastructural development I can confidently affirm that we will never be the giant of Africa.And to be honest we never really cared about this giant ooga-booger-empty chest-beating slogan.

SA is indeed a powerhouse of African music but that doesn't mean it's the only one. The fact it's not recognised in Nigeria is testimony to the fact you're a one-genre country (autotuned afrobeats).

All Nigerians into rap acknowledge SA is the African champion, House, amapiano, R&B, Gqom, afropop, choral, opera, orchestral, etc. Nigeria is limited to afrobeats.

I've seen Nigerians frolicking around SA djs and shooting videos in SA instead, I don't know what you're talking about. Right now Nigerian artists are jumping on the amapiano bandwagon to remain relevant coz amapiano is next global phenomenon (and yet u say SA is not a powerhouse - I laugh in Xhosa )
