I disagree. His method acting on The Revenant was spectacular.

Attacked by a bear, mauled half to death, managed to kill said bear, left for dead by his colleagues, son got murdered protecting him, somehow able to rouse himself up inspite of his injuries, buried son, evade native indian attack, saved a native indian woman from gang-rape, stole horses, killed a few Frenchmen, took shelter inside the gut of a dead horse, ate a raw meat to keep from starvation, managed to make it back to base, sets out again the following morning, tracked his son's murderer down, fought him, defeated him in a short but brutal scuffle.

The spectacular part? He did very little talking in the whole process. Why? 'Cuz he didn't need to. He knew to convey the necessary emotions through his body language and expressions, that any more dialogue than was needed would have done him a disservice. Method acting 101. Very few actors have this particular talent/skill.

Great Gatsby is awesome, and yes, he deserved an Oscar for it. Hell, he deserved an Oscar for more than half of all of his movies.
I hated the revenant.

Lol.

I was surprised seeing 5/10 for Split. That movie was fantastic. It's like the critic that rated it 5/10 didn't factor in the fact that James McAvoy put in world-class effort in pulling off the 23 different personalities in that film.

BTW, the second person you quoted was not wrong, he's just trying to subtly tell Fůnjosh that the 5/10 he gave it was too poor, hence urging him to add one more mark to push past the average score he awarded it.
Yeah.

The movie is not average at all. It's a masterpiece.

James McAvoy deserves awards for his performance. I truly believed his different characters

Funjosh:
Split 5/10
Viking007:
Add 1 more and make it 6. That movie try na oga Funjosh. sad
Seriously, are people trolling with these movie ratings?

How can split be anything less than a 7/10?

Personally, I give it 8.5/10.

The movie just kept you wondering where the villains split personality would take him to.

The only downside is that there wasnt much action. The suspense made up for it, though.

Edit:

Rotten tomatoes and IMDb both put the movie at approximately 7.3/10. Proves my point

It's easy to talk tough and spit braggadocio when you're deeply ensconced in the safety of the only reality you've ever known. Oh, the irony. When sh*t hits the fan, tough talkers usually cop out the quickest.

I don't understand (I think you mean blue pill, that red no easy)
I mean red pill.

The red pill is the cold hard truth. Someone has linked religion to the matrix movie which is very apt.

The red pill makes you realise that there is no old white man in heaven coming to save you from poverty, herdsmen, SARS or corruption.

Many Nigerians live in the blue pill delusional world. They have accepted without evidence the lies that:
-tithing will make you rich
-prayer will save you
-fasting is healthy

It takes a strong minded chosen one (Neo) in Nigeria to reject the delusion that has plague most people in the country. It take a mentally tough person to reject the falsehoods of religion and culture.

The God you have been given is a lie.

There is no spoon God.

Humans scorched the sky thinking lack of sunlight would incapacitate the machines, but they were wrong. The machines adapted and turned to harvesting humans, and thus permanently solved their temporary energy crisis. Humans to get away from the machines and also to escape the nuclear winter bored into the earth core looking for warmth and santuary. Eventually, they found one and named it "Zion".

Humans kept it hidden from the machines cuz it would be total annihilation of the human race otherwise. The machines created the matrix to keep the human mind in check as they feed on our flesh in real life. They addressed all these and more on Animatrix btw.
Absolutely correct. The Animatrix gives the background

Nope, I don't know why. If I was just watching it for the first time recently, I'd probably know why. It's been so long I watched that movie that I can't even remember 90% of the scenes.
Yeah. But even if you watched the movie again, you wouldn't still know.

The Animatrix explained a lot of things.

I see people mentioning "the matrix".

The movie is legendary. Game changing.

However, if you have not watched "the Animatrix", which is the animated companion to the matrix, then you do not fully understand the matrix.

Beorn, koicereloaded, oyetpel, do any of you know why the real world is very dark in the movie (The matrix)?

See them. Stealing office data. Selfish employees.

These are the kinds of employees that like awoof. They will use the official office phone for all calls (even personal calls) to save credit. They will charge all their appliances at work- torchlight, powerbank, laptop etc. They also accompany their colleagues that drive for free rides.

No wonder ishilove cannot afford to watch movie and popcorn in the cinema for 2,500 Naira.

I am grateful that I'm in a position to query and sanction such selfish employees. Awoof dey purge.

Let me answer my question for you in peace

China, Japan and Russia have the world highest population of atheist and none of the nations tolerate homosexuality

With or with religion people will still not tolerate homosexuality
Falsehoods! As expected, you are full of crap.

1) There is a huge presence of christianity in Russia. Only 25% of the population are atheists.

2) Japan has a huge number of atheists and here is a statement on homosexuality in Japan;

Japan has no laws against homosexual activity and has some legal protections for gay individuals. In addition, there are some legal protections for transgender individuals. Consensual sex between adults of the same sex is legal, but some prefectures set the age of consent for same-sex sexual activity higher than for opposite-sex sexual activity.

While civil rights laws do not extend to protection from discrimination based on sexual orientation, some governments have enacted such laws. The government of Tokyo has passed laws that ban discrimination in employment based on sexual identity.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homosexuality_in_Japan#Politics_and_law

3) China is a totalitarian communist country. End of story

Just to be clear, when we say homophobia what do we mean?

Hating someone because he is gay ?

Or

Hating homosexuality?

Cus both are not really the same thing
You are talking rubbish now.

If one hates a person because the person is gay, that is hating homosexuality.

If one hates homosexuality, then it will logically follow that one will also hate a person for being gay.

Both are the same. Both are examples of homophobia.
Christianity EtcRe: Is Religion The Problem Of The World? by JackBizzle: 4:16pm On Jul 18, 2018
johnydon22:
I did not reply that comment because of the bold assumptions it was built on. Homosexuality in ancient cultures is a wildly debated topic more so in Egypt.

Most cultures were neither indifferent or did not have a concept of homosexuality within them. Some strickly abhors them, some practised it.

And pointing out sango's disciples dressed like women does not really suggest homosexual relationships.

I know some people that interpret Jesus having 12 men as disciples to homosexuality. It's just fitting a contemporary narrative into unlikely timeline to score points.

In ancient Igbo soceity, a woman with a dead son or dead husband and cannot have any more children can marry another woman but this marriage is not on a sexual note, the new wife is meant to sleep with other men to produce children to continue the family name.

I'm not saying that Judeo-Christian doctrines do not contribute to some abhorrence of homosexuality, i am saying many cultures already do so without the influence of Judeochristian religions.
This is 2018. Homophobia is not caused by culture anymore. But by religion.

Take a look at the UK. Are you saying that the homophobes in the uk are homophobic because of British culture? No. It is religion.

The same with Saudi Arabia and other Muslim countries. The homophobia is a result of religion as homosexual relationships existed within Persian tribes.

JackBizzle is right about religion(Abrahamic Religion especially) influencing cultures to hate homosexuality.

The idea that cultures ahbor homosexuality is flawed, looking at history the ancient Greece practiced homosexuality openly, Ancient Parsia even has poems and literatures for homosexuality, ancient Egypt practiced homosexuality etc, there are articles stating how homosexuality is not an issue in Yoruba culture, Sango male followers dress like females.
