Jack: Let it be known to all my fellow obstreperous atheists in the room that when this thread was created by me, and I was consequently getting ass whooped, not a single one of them came to my rescue. They all deserted me. cry
Who are you and why are you resurrecting this dead thread?

LordReed:
This a personal experience for you and not generalised for all atheists. However I must say that after becoming atheist death has taken a different perspective in my mind. While the fear has somewhat abated, the finality of it means it does have an impact in how I conduct my affairs.
The bold part is still what I am talking about.

Becoming an atheist does change one's perspective on death.

For some people, they become more engrossed on what religion forbade them from doing.

Probably your demons are getting unleashed!

They are making suggestions now, later you'll be wondering why you are not an active participant and later, you'll actually participate unfortunately to you own demise.
Do you blame your actions on demons?

Stop believing in fairytales
Christianity EtcRe: Atheists, Do You Have This Weird Problem? by JackBizzle: 10:26am On Dec 20, 2020
shadeyinka:
Life as an atheist has zero hope on life itself!

Why should you obey the laws of man when you can stage a grand robbery of the central bank?
The laws of the land you have willingly submitted yourself to has limited you!

NOW,
1. What of if you die in the process?
For one who believes that life terminates at death, it shouldn't be your worries after all, everybody will die one day.
2. What if you succeed?
Then, you will spend the remainder of your life in relative comfort. In addition to your wealth you'll have power, fame and you may even go into politics and become our president.

Why limit your potential if you have nothing to lose?
Why submit yourself to the limitations of laws that are made by fellow star dust?

BTW:
If you are scared of horror movies (not even demons), your knowledge of God is questionable while you claimed to be a christian.

If you really want to know the truth:
Our mortality makes everything we do and achieve meaningless!
What profits a man who gains the whole world but loses his soul?
Yet countries with high numbers of atheists are usually the most developed. Atheists tend to have higher levels of education and income.

There is no evidence for an afterlife.

Bullcrap! Death is simply the end.... Embrace it and move on instead of singing meaningless songs about it.

The dead are dead and gone.. Never to be again! Pretending there is more to it is a waste of time and energy!
I was talking about death in relation to life.

Philosophy is important

They have in the past for centuries. Everything has its time appointed. Enikan kii je awade. A time will come when secular democracy will also evaporate. There will be a new turn when another zaman emerges. This is common sense. Pharaoh was powerful and reigned like he would never end. Solomon was powerful that no power in the world could challenge his authority. He reigned like he would never end.

Right now it is western secular democracy in the picture. When a new zaman comes this secularism will also shift. It is God that rotates affairs of humans. If this is not clear to you, you should ponder on MKO Abiola. The richest man in Nigeria in his time. He reigned like forever. During his time Dangote did not exist. From no where Dangote emerged and becomes the richest man in Africa. A time will come when everything will shift from him and given to someone else.

It is all parts of Divine Plan. So you can hug transformer if you hate Sharia Law so so much.
Your caliphate will never rise. The ummah will oppressed by the infidels till the end of time

Religion isn't inherently evil.

I don't think religion has any harmful effect on the society tho.*** Coming from an atheist ***
The fact that it is ingrained in most religions that unbelievers are by definition "evil" makes religion inherently evil.

Religion (the Abrahamic religions) are inherently immoral. The only saving grace is that the practitioner can choose to follow the religion in a moral way.

Homophobia, sexism and falsehoods are ingrained in the books or doctrine of the Abrahamic religions.

Just finished watching Money Heist and I'd say it's a masterpiece.

spoilers ahead

But here some things that just doesn't add up in the movie.

For example when "The Professor" seemed to have had a such a master plan already why then did he ruin it by gathering a bunch of amateurs (I called the whole crew amatuers due to their babyish attitudes)

the plan was just too pro to give a bunch of kids that couldn't keep away their feelings for just 10+ days they spent in there. In fact the movie was just ruined due to the that foolishness by the writers

You are still on this p?

Pressure affects people differently. 10 days hostage situation.

Secondly, do you know how hard is to recruit guys for such a heist job?

Gbam! This is exactly what put me off in the first place. The melodrama. Everything is overblown and over-dramatized. I couldn't stand the infantile behaviour of some of the major characters, esp the narrator. In fact, the whole thing is soapish.

So many of them actually.

First, start with Oz, and work your way down to [i]The Wire, The Sopranos, Broadwalk Empire, The Newsroom, 6 Feet Under, Show me a Hero, The Shield, Sons of Anarchy, Weeds, Patrick Melrose, Dexter, The Leftovers, The Chi, Succession, Taboo, Billions, Homeland, The Affair, Fargo, The Deuce.... So many, but start with these.
shocked shocked

How are you not bind? I have watched some of these series over the years but you have watched all?

Menn. Much respect.

I have seen- Newsroom, Broadwalk empire, Dexter, Billions, The wire.

It is a lie! Succession just finished last week! You have watched it? Damn, you're good!

Interesting. Okay name so e of these dramas, let me.watch them

Hahahaha.

What f**kup?? Telenovela are latin shows that are synonymous with exaggerated emotions. In other words, latin shows that are melodramatic. Google the definition of "melodrama".
Too vague. It is a bank robbery with hostages that lasted many days. Do you expect emotions to be stable? What do you consider "exaggerated"?

I say this because telenovela has a specific definition- Spanish/Portuguese language soap operas with dramatic overacting.

I didn't see any overacting in the money heist series.

Eya. You just stumbled on the show recently, and is wowed. Understandable. I've been there. I recommended the show to people last year in the series thread. The irony is I fall out of love with it pretty fast even as people were asking me for links. I found it melodramatic. Everything is just too much drama. A lot of people love it though.
Bro, don't let me spoil your Monday morning. I am an expert in arguing and PhD in trolling.

How can you just sit down and deflate my joy from watching money heist?

The series was sensational.

Would you like it if someone said that game of thrones is just "DRAMA with swords and dragons"?

I haven't been pained this much on nairaland since ishilove derailed my thread and banned me for complaining!

The hype about the series was so high at the series thread that I've downloaded the complete 2 seasons 2 weeks ago. The only reason I'm yet to watch it is that I'm still trying to complete The Blacklist season 1 to 5 and Killing Eve season 1. After them, I'll watch it. Even my friends I sent the series to can't stop raving about it.
Playback watch it. I need someone to back me up against Koicereloaded. grin grin

I don't know what you're on about. I will have you know I dig "well produced" shows from the latin world.

3% is a decent dystopian sci-fi from Brazil. Club de Cuervos is an hilarious football comedy from Mexico. El Chapo is a narcotics-themed drama from Mexico. Vis-a-Vis (Locked up) is a prison-themed drama from Spain. Gomorrah is a fantastic Mafia-themed drama from Italy. Narcos is a narcotics-themed drama from Colombia/US.

I dig these shows because they don't give off telenovela vibes. They're not melodramatic. They're serious business.

Money Heist don't have these qualities.
Listing all these TV shows will not cover your f4ck up.

I would like you to define "telenovela" and apply it to money heist.

Dude, it's telenovela-ish. I know this because I have watched the whole thing long ago. The found the narrator very aggravating. The first season started out okay, but by the time I rolled into season 2, I was bored as f**k.
undecided

The tv show gives off a strong telenovela vibe. Not a fan.
grin

Judging a book by it's cover? That is a sure path to ignorance. Also racist to assume everything on film from Spain or Latin America is "telenovela".

It would be like someone saying that Guardians of the Galaxy has a "Star Trek vibe".

Let it be known. I don't like Tyler Perry and I don't like telenovelas.

La casa del papel is by far the best TV show for 2017/2018. Bro, just watch it

So your level is below that of a toddler.
But our ancestors couldn't write. So you and your toddler are dumb.

You should keep quiet and read historical accounts, fool.
Tribalism was brought to our shores by europeans to devide us. Before colonisation, our people certainly didn't identifiy with the language they spoke.
Anyways, both Urhobo and Itsikeri are part of the same Edo people.
Lol.... historical accounts written by who?
