KingEbukasBlog:
2 On September 19, 2011, the Discover Magazine website had an article indicating that there were empirical results showing a positive correlation between atheism and high functioning autism and the article declared:

“This is why the empirical results on the correlation between atheism and high functioning autism are important.....some people were angry that I seemed to suggest that atheists were antisocial weirdos. Well, there is some data to back that up

http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/gnxp/2011/09/atheism-as-mental-deviance/#.WD4ef7KLTcc
Another load of rubbish from kingebukasblog. Quoting a blog version of discover magazine that falsely interpretes data from a study.

1) The study is not about autistic people in general. It is about high functioning autistic people- autistic people who are only mildly autistic. Note the possiblity of finding out that low functioning autistic people might be more religious.

2) The study does not say that atheism makes you more likely to be an autistic person. the study states that high functioning autistic people are more likely to embrace atheism as a way of thinking. After all, atheism is anti-social in America; the most religious country in the west.

Lies lies and more lies.

This guy kingebukasblog has a history of quoting from dubious sources. I remember his Hitler thread where he quoted things about Hitler from a dubious book that ran contrary to what Hitlers own biography and the history says.

Kingebukasblog also employs the "kitchen sink" approach where he throws many lies at atheists so that they cant address them all. Just not his verbose 5 points in the op.

Lets Examine Ebukas lies and deceptions-

KingEbukasBlog:
3 Asperger's syndrome (sometimes referred to as "High-Functioning Autism" or "HFA"wink is an umbrella term used to classify problematic behaviours similar to, but less severe than, those within the lower reaches of the autistic spectrum.
Day wrote concerning atheist PZ Myers' blog audience:
“ It's by no means a scientific test, but it is interesting to note the coincidence that 59 of the virulent atheists over at Dr. PZ Myers place report an average score on the Asperger's Quotient test of 27.8. And this does not include the two individuals who actually have Asperger's but did not report any test results."
As PZ himself said: "I took the test and scored a 24, an “average math contest winner.” You need a 32 to suggest Asperger’s, and a 15 is the average. So there. I don’t have Asperger’s, I’m just cruel and insensitive."
Below is some information that Aspergerstest.com gives concerning interpreting their Asperger's quiz results:
"Basically the range for possible answers is 0 to 50. The information below shows you the different ranges as recorded from others sitting this same AQ quiz over the years.
* 0-11 low result – indicating no tendency at all towards autistic traits.
* 11-21 is the average result that people get (many women average around 15 and men around 17)
* 22-25 shows autistic tendencies slightly above the population average
* 26-31 gives a borderline indication of an autism spectrum disorder. It is also possible to have aspergers or mild autism within this range.
* 32-50 indicates a strong likelihood of Asperger syndrome or autism.
In fact, scores of 32 or above are one of strong indicators of having as ASD.

Sources : http://www.gnxp.com/blog/2007/08/religiosity-and-personality-how-are.php
So, in the quote above, kingebukasblog chooses a non-scientific test of aspergers to claim nonsense about atheists. Note that he sources from a unreliable blog that further quotes from an unreliable atheist blog.

Nonsense

I used to go to church once in a while before but stopped going because I got tired of the deceit and lies. The only God Nigerians know and worship is money. I got tired of it all and stopped attending. I used to attend for child dedication and all. Now I only attend weddings organized in the church. The church is just a social gathering. My wife attends COZA in Abuja. I've been there tgree times this year. I truly like the pastors business model. Am impressed with it. He has his followers in check and they will keep paying him very huge amounts. He's an intelligent hustler.
If you can stand the average azzhole boss u Nigeria, you can stand any bullshyte.

Also, some churches have less bullshyte. COZA is top tier bs

Seriously though:

Why do you do this?

Why should you be concerned about such pretentious and hypocritical respect? Does this not run counter to all that you preach here and is it not just as hypocritical a leaning as that of those you so vociferously condemn?

This is mercenary and would render you an opportunistic scavenger at best and an outright fraudster at worst.

This reeks of an inferiority complex, don't you think?

I would adjure you to reflect again on this and admonish yourself appropriately.
This is a most unwholesome thread.
Behind the looks of every billionaire is a shrewd, Machiavellian pragmatist.

We live in a wicked, animalistic jungle of a country.

Only the strong survive. There is no place for the weak of heart.

Every single successful atheist in Nigeria does what I do to some level- afterall, Seun does not push atheist threads to the front page on a fair basis, does he?

If I am telling you the bitter truth and you dont like it, go and sleep. Going to church does not make me a hypocrite. I never claim to be a christian- i just let people assume.

Lol. One thing I'm thankful for is that my parents, though devoted steadfastly to their religion, are so not the volatile and aggressive type - as against the likes I see parading this section.

All they can do is to adopt the way of persuation and hope the holy spirit would work out the rest. Using brute force would definitely not yield any result. I guess they know this. They even tried to drag yours truly along to church today all to no avail.

I engage them sometimes in thoughtful discourse, I question their faith, though it always ends off on the note of me being ignorant or possessed and we laugh it off. Lol. What can I do?
I suppose that you are lucky; some parents would have either thrown you out or put you in an asylum

You did not quote the right verse.
Please beware of abusing my scripture.

This is the verse that should caution you:

"For the usurper knoweth himself: the deceitful diviner of our word: and for this man and his disciples: lo! - Aiyelala! A most terrible spectre I beheld: exile from the word: and its fruits thereof: and it was seen in the seven realms that there could be no more terrible a thing upon the Earth."

~ Per Cap 18, Article 18

On Fury & Punishment

I should also draw your attention to Article 19:

"And in suddenness he seized from the usurper his soul and verily: the meeting he had planned: in suddenness a great woe which could not be comprehended arose and became a leech upon the usurper and the soul of his meeting."

As such, be warned.

As a church goer, have you noticed and wondered why Christians love big English words and convoluted phrases when praying to their God ?

It almost seems like the bigger the words and and the more convoluted the phrases in prayer, the more powerful and most likely to reach God's abode on the outskirts of the universe.

Though my parents think I'm demonised and are bent on winning me over.

I found that going to church does not actually offer any tangible help. It pulls you deeper into the pit of depression.

A large number of christians are like the white lotus in the movie Once Upon A Time In China - willfully following a blind cause without asking questions.

Most of them have a bleak outlook of uncertainty towards life. And they equally want you to view life through that suffocating lens. Lol.

I'd rather visit a psychologist or a therapist than pastors who are readily eager to up their extortation game and would still leave you unsatisfied.
I would advice you to go to church to at least satisfy your parents.

When the pastor's bullshite is too much, I just walk to my car and start browsing on my phone.

Christianity Etc › Re: The Best Atheist Quotes On Nairaland by JackBizzle(op): 11:26am On Nov 27, 2016
Every Nigerian atheist should understand the deeper meaning of this quote;

“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.”

Christianity Etc › Why Nigerian Atheists Should Go To Church (for atheists only) by JackBizzle(op): 11:10am On Nov 27, 2016
Happy sunday, everyone.

I am an atheist and I go to church regularly. It might be surprising but it is true. I don't go for any supernatural or faith reasons, I go for very material reasons-

1) Respect;
99% of Nigerians are religious. Nigeria is a religious society and a man or woman who regularly goes to church with good car, fine family and good clothes will always get respected. Such a facade will always open doors for you. There is even a seating spot in the church where i go to where the "big boys" seat- it is not official but it is there. I have noticed that church wardens/ushers tend to patrol that side even more out f respect.

2) Business opportunities;
Following the first point, being well dressed and regular in church opens many doors. You can get clients or business partners in church. Many people have the belief that a church man can't cheat them. Also, one can put adverts in church bulletins or pamphlets.

3) Getting the knowledge to convince (and even brainwash) people
If you know my history on nairaland, then you know that I am a good "atheist evangelist" if I want to be. I learnt how to convince people from the best- priests and pastors. An atheist can improve both arguing skills and speech from copying the mannerisms of influential priests who control a huge flock of brainwashed sheep.

4) Reverse evangelism to atheism/humanism/secularism?

TB Joshua clearly said Hilary would win popular vote or not. He said Hilary would win
And he failed
Anything a christian in his church does to justify him is as a result of cognitive dissonance
Two conflicting beliefs. TB Joshua prophesied a female win. This was thier belief
Now that it failed they are doing everything in their power to rationalise the belief so he wont come out as a false belief.
This prophecy clearly opened the motherfuckers asshole to the whole world and there are still people justifying him
