Politics › Re: Buhari Approves Fuel Subsidy Removal For June 2023 by jackfj: 9:35pm On Aug 19, 2022 |
29kobo: Am going to be honest, and say that by December 2023, there will still be a subsidy.
Despite how it is harming our economy, and our petroleum sector, and how it is preventing us from building our refineries....Nigerians want to buy fuel at N10 per liter, Buhari supporters, Buhari haters, and the neutrals.
Because we have swallowed a fallacy...that cheap prices is the best way to help the poor.
Well, cheap prices, government controlled prices, means the business sector operates at a loss, and government spends an increasing amount of revenue to cover that loss...a subsidy. It means that at the end, we lose more money, and the sector never recoups its losses, and sharp practices result.
The thing is, Nigerians want cheap prices for everything. Because we are poor. Then they come and complain about the loans that invariably result from making prices cheap....the loans we take to cover the resulting subsidy induced deficit.
All I know is, Buhari should remove subsidy. No buts, and right now. But most Nigerians want subsidy to stay.
The problem with Nigeria is simple...we want cheap stuff without paying for it. My friend keep quiet, even If we buy PMS for 1k your leaders will still loot the money because of zero accountability... Do you know Nigeria once had a president that boasted, saying that Nigeria problem is not how to make money but how to spend it, ask yourself where is all that money today.... |

Asquare84: I just got information that induction of new staff of firs is currently taking place now in Lagos instead of the usual training school in Abuja. Things have really changed in firs since the new management came in. Recruitment keep going on underground, I know of guys that Fowler gave job on a platter of gold without knowing any of them when he was the chairman, this guy's waited for him in the office till 2.am in the morning till when he was attending to visitor and he asked them what do they want and this guy's told him they need job, Fowler collected their CV and next was documentation. Things have changed in Firs ooo. Underground recruitment and documentation is the order of the day now. How can one now meet the cbn Governor in that scenario na |

Maameer99: Guys….help me praise God o!! It’s time for my testimony (Not an “A” Agency mind you)… I’d been on the job search as you may or may not know for about 7-8 years. I’ve spoken to SOOO many DG’s, CEO’s, Ministers, PA’s…shared so many CVs….had so many promises, wrote so many test/exams, had a few interviews….but on this fine day in June… I got a letter! (I repeat, Not an “A” Agency mind you) About 10 days ago, a friend called me that an agency MD asked him to bring CVs if he has people (but only Science/ Engineers). So after he asked a few people, somehow I came to his mind and he spoke to me, and of course I sent the CV to him not expecting anything to happen, because who is he really? This afternoon he just forwarded APL to my WhatsApp! Congratulations brother! |

ravensckar: A person like you is the reason why our government take us to be foo.ls! As educated as you're sounding, you've refused to stop and ponder on the effect of any increase in fuel price (under the guise of subsidy). The hyper inflation that will occur, increase in transportation, feeding, housing and general cost of living. If not someone who learned wickedness directly from the devil himself, no reasonable person will advocate for more hardship on the populace.
Now, on the real issue of subsidy. Equity demands that he who will come to the table must come with clean hands. All the subsidy figures that the government has been quoting, have you ever asked yourself why they themselves have refused to reduce the cost of governance? Oh! You want the citizens to sacrifice but you the leader ain't ready for any form of sacrifice. If hypocrisy has a nickname, it will be called 'Nigerian Government'.
Thirdly, has any government explained to us why the heck our refiniries ain't working? So, you mean a country that is blessed with crude oil cannot afford to have up to 4 functioning refineries. If that's not failure of governance, then, tell me what is.
Let no foolish person preach any gospel of subsidy under any guise, the masses will resist it. And if they attempt it, what happened during the ENDSARS protest will be a child's play. This country is already on a cliff.... Damn... You're fucking wise |

And who told you they don't mix gas,lol 65% of gas bought by end users is adulterated, that's why most times you complain to the fillers, saying oga your gas no dey last. Meanwhile it's 100% not his fault.....(high pressure gas) I.e purely propane gas.. |
