Josh316: The new CNN polls as of this morning showed Obama with 49% and Romney with 37%....I am talking about the election poll among registered voters not the winner of the debate poll. |
BTW a recent CNN Poll of Polls showed Romney leading Obama nationally at 48%-47% among registered voters... Hmmm looks like Obama might end up with the 47% Romney talked about. |
Na wa o! Nairaland is so pro-Obama, not a place to get a fair analysis for someone that did not watch the debate. |
Mad Cow: Oya!! Shut up!!You must learn to respect other people's opinion if you want yours to be respected mad cow! |
Its such a pity that the devil is using so many people to attack men of God and Christains, and they foolishly continue to make themselves available being led through the path of destruction. O Lord forgive them and have mercy on their poor souls. |
While people are here killing themselves over the Bishop, men and women that God has used him to bless are lining up in his office struggling to see him and sow seeds into his life. People are dropping keys to houses(home and abroad), cars and papers to lands for the Man of God because they have been blessed one way or another by the ministry and I am sure the Bishop does not know or meet half of those people. What i have seen is no matter how mad we get, no body can curse who God has blessed! |
Are you guys not tired of calling Bishop Oyedepo a 419er, scam artist and thief without any evidence? You people are just angry with the man because he is rich and acquires what he thinks is necessary without apology or what people will say because the truth is that people will always talk no matter what you do. I am not going to judge this man of God based on what unbelievers says about him but by what God thinks about Him. I am not saying He is perfect because only God is perfect, but despite his errors sometimes God honours Him and is able to Make Him stand. I know because the Spirit of God bears witness with the children of God to know what is of God. So if anyone is shouting that Oyedepo is fraud and wants us to take them seriously, come up with an evidence or shut up and stop being a fool! |

Welldone crazyman.much respect. |
chaircover: As you are not Yoruba, and all this is new to you, your husband should have explained all this to you before you got married. It is Yoruba culture not to call your husbands siblings and "aburos" by name as a sign of respect. You dont have to call them aunty or uncle, but you can give them a nickname. So for example you can call someone named Femi Bros Femooooooo! All within reason though as some will be so young that there is nothing wrong in caling them by their own name. Thanks sis! ![]() |
I am married to a yoruba man but grew up in the south and I have found some expectation from my husband's family and friends very strange. For instance my husband tells me to call his relatives aunty or uncle even though most of them are way younger than me and then when I call his friends by their first names, he told me in private that they think I am disrespectful. I understand the part of kneeling down to greet my inlaws but the other part of calling aunty or uncle to every one and not feeling free to hail his friends by their first names, is really hard. Please my fellow yoruba wives, is this normal? |
My response to the lawyer and his cohorts is Psalm 2:1-4. |
This case will not make any headway until the lawyer produces the said girl and from what I see he has never met the young lady yet he wants N2billion compensation! This lawyer sef. SMH |
Thank God indeed! For He has not left himself without a witness. I personally think he should leave Iran with his family. |
Iranian authorities acquit and free pastor Youcef Nadarkhani after three years of imprisonment Iranian authorities acquitted condemned pastor Youcef Nadarkhani of apostasy charges and released him from a Tehran prison, according to the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ). The acquittal comes nearly three years after Iranian authorities jailed Nadarkhani on charges of apostasy against Islam and sentenced the pastor to death by hanging. The ACLJ - a Florida-based Christian advocacy group with close ties to Nadarkhani - reported that the pastor appeared in an Iranian court on Saturday for another hearing on the charges brought against him: "His hearing lasted almost six hours. But in the end, he was released and able to return home to his family." A statement from the ACLJ said that sources reported the court reduced Nadarkhani's charges to evangelizing Muslims and released him with time served. The photo accompanying this article shows Nadarkhani, 32, greeting his two young sons and supporters bearing flowers as he left the prison. The pastor appears healthy. Nadarkhani's sudden release was a surprising turn in a case that had drawn international attention. Christian advocacy groups and lawmakers from around the world - including the United States - had called for Iranian authorities to spare the pastor's life and release him from jail. Nearly 3 million people worldwide had voiced support for Nadarkhani in a "Tweet for Youcef" campaign on Twitter. The U.K.-based group Christian Solidarity Worldwide had reported earlier that Iranian judges could level new charges against Nadarkhani this month to give judges fresh impetus to carry out a death sentence against him. Instead, officials suddenly released the pastor, sparking international celebration for Nadarkhani and his family. Ann Buwalda of the Virginia-based Jubilee Campaign sent an email on Saturday to Christians who had prayed for Nadarkhani for years: "Oh brothers and sisters, rejoice with us. Your prayers and ours have been answered." Buwalda urged supporters to continue to pray for Nadarkhani, particularly as his family contemplates whether to stay in Iran or flee the country: "While I am sure that Pastor Youcef would prefer to stay with his flock, the high-profile nature of his case may put him, his family, and his church in extreme danger as long as they stay in Iran. Pray that God would grant wisdom." The Jubilee Campaign and other advocacy groups also urged prayer for the many other Christians facing persecution and imprisonment in Iran. Those cases continue largely apart from the international spotlight. Nadarkhani - who grew up in a Muslim home but never embraced Islam - refused multiple offers of release over the last three years. Iranian authorities had promised to free him if he recanted Christianity and affirmed Islam. Nadarkhani repeatedly refused, answering in court with two simple words: "I cannot." |
ifeness: He his robbing peter to pay Paul just a method of keeping his business flowing. Where did he get his money in the first place. All the money should belong to the association or church as you may call it and not him. Its like being a president of a country and thinking you did anything special when you give money to the state. You all should benefit from the money and not him buying private jets. The money belongs to all the members and not only the pastors. After all your sky God doesn't spend the money. The money belongs to the church and is well managed. The church finacial council decides what to do with what amount after budget is drawn each year.If the church council sees a need for a private Jet, they have the support of the church to go ahead. Same with new churches or schorlarships. And nobody is robbing anyone. People give willing and are blessed. |
ifeness: He needs people like you to be his soldiers which you are clearly doing. Why wont you forever be a winner? Actually a winner of nothing and empty anointing you queue at the church for every Sunday. And yet you kids cant go to his schools for free. Just like Yahweh,he is draining his memebers of all their moneyYou are very wrong! My neighbour a deacon in winners left his Job to start business but struggling financially because things are yet to fall into place. Guess what, his son is in Landmark University on scholarship because he cannot pay his tuition. So all these stories about the bishop enriching himself with tithes are rubbish. Tell me what tithe can this man pay? There are many more benefiting from the church. Its pathetic that you guys hear a bad comment by one person and run with it but ignore the good ones. No winner's member will complain because they know their gain in hearing the undiluted truth of God's word and have thousands of testimonies. So i know all the negative comments here are from non-winners who dont bother to verify what they hear. How childish! |
nne3870: says who? Its an official sticker and its sold at every winners church. Pastor don turn god, ppl ar nolonger identifyin themslves as God's children bt as 'son's of bishop' Idolatory in d highest order..... Smhif you are a winner u will know that this is not an official sticker. You dont have to tell lies. |
ifeness: Oyedepo is a good business man-playing with the minds of his members. The rich gets their money from the poor, that is exactly what he is doing!you better get your facts right. He does not approve any sticker except the annual ones released during shiloh and the. I am a winner's stickers. People print what they want and people buy what they want. Leave papa out of it!! |
Can't tell if the lady died of hypertention or something else but what I do know as a markerter in a bank is that it is possible to develop high blood pressure and my advice to younger people looking forward to working for any bank is, avoid marketing if you want to enjoy your job and have peace of mind. Tell them that you will be more productive as an operations staff biko. May her soul rest in peace. |
Another pastor bashing Thread. Too bad that many nairaland christains do not even have the fear of God or respect for God's servants. |

There has been tremendous improvement in electricity supply for sometime now. Hope it gets even better. |
My younger sis dreamt in July 2010 and witnessed the death of my mother and our youngest sister in that dream by car accident, but later my sister woke up but my mother did not.In December 2010, my mother was travelling in real life and told my yongest sister to carry her bag and walk her to the gate. The bag was a bit heavy so my sister was behind her dragging it along. When my mum got to the gate and tried to cross to road, a bus came from no where and hit her very hard, my sister behind her saw everything. My mum was rushed to the hospital but died later that day. That was the saddest day of our lives. If my younget sister was trying to cross the road with her, both of them would have been dead. My sister that had the dream said she prayed about it butwish she had called our attention to it seriously and if she did, mama would be alive today. Dreams are real. The bad ones warn us to pray against certain plans of the devil and the good ones are to show us things to come. |
@ OP, I am also a winner and had a very close friend who was a catholics and we used to argue a lot about doctrines. On a certain day it got very heated and when I got home, I couldn't pray and just as I was trying to connect to God, the Holy Spirit said to me that the body of Christ is not divided. We are all called by the name of Jesus. If you want to be a Catholic, It is also the Church of Jesus Christ. Concentrate on the word of God and be guided by the Holy Spirit and not doctrine. All the best, continue to give Jesus the first place in your life and you will not miss it. |
nuella2:Christ has paid for every punishment we would have suffered as a result of sin if we have recieved Him as our Lord, because the penalty of sin is death and shame. The devil can still make us pay if we do not know our rights in Christ. I Thank God for using great men to show us the truth and the riches of our inheritance in Jesus. |
I first gave my life to the Lord in 2003 but had to rededicated my life a couple of times before I decided in 2006 to get to know HIM better. I attended WOFBI and there the Lord miraculously connected me to my husband that I had been praying for, was chosen for a job in a Bank among my friends that went for test, interview, promoted me when others were laid off etc, When I got married spiritual battles started as a result of the sins and covenant of the family I was born into with gods/goddess that was against marriages, but the Lord stood by us and held our hand in our trials and gave us victory. I had attacks every night until my father in the Lord Bishop Oyedepo opened my eyes to know that both my sin and the sin of my family that spoke against me has been totally erased by the blood of Jesus my Lord,I am the righteosness of God in Christ and there is no condemnation against me but I am justified, that I have been translated to the kingdom of God and is seated with Christ, that I am spiritually a child of God and there is no sin in my father(God) or my spiritual root anymore. This knowledge brought light and darkness vanished, the devil was capitalising on my ignorance. There is no life without God, The holy spirit has shown me His purpose for my life when I got closer to Him, praying in tongues daily and I am priviledged to be called of God to preach the gospel of grace. Before now I am hot today and cold tomorrow but I have learnt that to stay hot for God, I have to pray supernaturally every day, medidate on the word etc, and let the Holy Spirit be my guide daily in this earthly journey. God bless U all |
