Sadness has taken over the land of Amana, and indeed the entire Becheve ward in Obanliku have of Cross River State of Nigeria, as 5 grand children of one Mrs Dorthy Agbor from old ikwette village a.k.a Bottom hill residing in Amana have died after eating cocumber.
Sources reveal that the children ate the fruit in absence of their grand mother, but under the supervision of their grade grandmother as their grandma had attended the burial of one Mr. Emma Kechie.
On her return the next morning, she discovered that 5 of her grand children were unconscious, she then raised alarm for help. This attracted the attention of friends, neighbors, and colleagues who came to her assistance by rushing the victims to nearby clinics. Few minutes after one female child gave up the ghost.
Two hours later, 2 boys followed. As if that was not enough, 4 hours later another female child died. As I speak with you now one of the victims who was undergoing treatment in the hospital has just died. On hearing the death of these children, their grade grandmother under whose supervision the children ate the fruit collapsed and died few minutes after, bringing the total number of corpse to 6 from the same house. WHAT A TRAGEDY?. At the moment 4 of the corpse have been taken to old ikwette for burial. This is because the host community ( AMANA ) has objected to the idea of buring them in their land, as it is tragedy. They also say is to avoid future occurance as this kind of thing has never happened in their land before.

Wives cheating on their partners might not necessarily be dependent on profession or occupation but there are some professions that make women prone to cheating on their husbands/partners. Below are some of these occupations:
1) POLITICS: Many female politicians, especially, in this part of the world, are nothing short of glorified prostitutes. These set of people, desparate just like their male counterparts, will not mind sleeping with all the political figures in their state just to clinch the position of a local government chairperson or even ward councillor!
2) ACTING: There is an African proverb that says 'He who brings ants-ridden woods into his house should not complain when lizards pay him visit'. With the kind of stories we hear about the movie industry these days, any man who marries an actress should not complain when it starts. One wonders how most of these actresses leave their matrimonial home within the shortest possible time after marriage. From movie set to hotel room...na clap deh dey take enter dance. How many sane and responsible man would tolerate his wife kissing random men passionately on screen, still knowing fully well what marriage is suppose to be? 
3) MODELING: Just like actresses, models have high possibilty to cheat in marriage. Her body is perfectly in shape; many men want her irrespective of her marital status. They want to have a taste of the Oripopo! What most of our models do behind closed doors just to get modeling contracts is shameful; marriage doesn't stop them from having extra-marital fun! With the things young ladies now do to win beauty pageants, I wouldn't wish an enemy of mine to marry a model as far as he understands what marriage entails.
4) BAR/RESTUARANT BUSINESS: If your wife runs this type of business, she probably see different men of diverse characters on daily basis who are ready to lavish their monthly income regularly on sex and alcohol. If you as the man has nothing tangible doing, it makes the case worse! Seriously speaking, without being biased, it is very difficult if not impossible to see a decent lady operating a bar/restaurant business in Nigerian cities! I tell you today, these set of people cheat as if tomorrow would never come!!!
5) BANK MARKETING: There is an African proverb that says 'Because a woman conceived for you doesn't mean she can't kill you'. Female bank marketers are mostly prone to cheating on their partners since they meet large business owners often due to the nature of the job. Nowadays, the number of women who place a good amount of value on marriage is steadily declining. With this, most female bank marketers will easily go to bed with rich clients just to keep their job and make more income. It's shameful but true.
In as much as some folks claim the average African man is naturally positioned to enjoy different women even when married, I don't see cheating in marriage or committed relationships as something proper for both sexes. I personally has cultivated the habit of dating one lady at a time. With this, I won't hesitate to throw a cheating partner out of my life through the window!

The Baale of Shangisha in Magodo, Lagos, Chief Mutiu Ogundare, on Wednesday, was abducted by three men along Center for Management Development (CMD) Road, Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
The baale was said to have received a phone call from alleged developers, who had indicated interest in a landed property within his domain.
The callers told the Baale where to meet them, prompting Ogundare to drive to the address with one of his brothers.
On arriving the location, the three men appealed to the Baale and his brother to join them in their White Toyota Venza so that they could go see the land.
On their way, it was gathered that the Baale’s brother noticed one of the men had a gun on him and he raised alarm.
And the suspected kidnapper pushed the baale’s brother out of the vehicle and sped off with the Baale.
After reporting the matter to the police, the command’s spokesman, Olarinde Famous-Cole, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) said it was not a kidnap.
He said there has been protracted dispute between Ogundare, one Shittu Lawal and another person.
According to Famous-Cole, it was a case of rivalry between two Baales, adding that investigation had commenced.
He said: “The White Venza had no registration number. They drove to CMD Guest House to meet the people who called that they wanted to check a land. It was there that they joined the suspect’s vehicle on appeal so that they could take them to the land. I cannot say if the Baale has regained freedom unless I receive additional information from the men in the field.”

Delta State's Police Command PRO, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, on Tuesday confirmed that 3 worshipers of a church located in the outskirt of Warri, died during a deliverance service.
He went further to disclose that one of the deceased drowned, while two others died during a prayer session in the church at the weekend.
“The information actually is that one worshipper drowned and two died in the church; that is the information available to me at the moment,” Aniamaka said.
According to NAN, a source who spoke with newsmen identified those who died as; 10-year-old boy Emmanuel Odili; Mrs Beatrice Nwachukwu and Mr Antonio Abba. The source who pleaded anonymity, added that the late Odili, had on Friday accompanied his mother to the church to worship, but fell into a pit inside the church premises and died, his corpse was later found on Saturday, by members of the church after he had been declared missing by his parents.
The source said that the church authority deposited the remains of the boy at a morgue before reporting the incident at Eburumede Police Station.
“The authority of the church alleged that the deceased had mental disorder which was denied by the parents.
“While the matter was being investigated, some members of the church on Saturday came to report that Mrs Nwachukwu and Mr Abba had died during deliverance in the church.
“They (church authority) said that Nwachukwu slumped during the prayer session; they also claimed she had high blood pressure but the husband denied it.”
When contacted, the spokesman of the church, Mr Godday Emiko, denied the allegation through a text message.
“Sorry, I miss your call, there is nothing like that,” Emiko said.

Ask any 5 year old boy if they know how to drive.. I bet you, they’ll give you a yes. Toyota is obviously aware of this and it has necessitated the launch of a special driving school, called Camatte.
The Camatte Petta mini car will enable the kids put their driving skills to test on track after learning how to use the throttle, brake, and steering on a simulator.
The kids can personalize the look of their cars, with panel designs, and colorful magnetic decals to make the body look different before they take a drive. After completing the challenge, they will be awarded with their own drivers licence, complete with photos.

I just move to this neighbourhood in Gbazango Area of Kubwa and the light situation is one of the worse in Nigeria. We get as low as 2 hours of electiricity in the morning and 2 hours at Night.
Surprisingly, the adjoining areas like Federal Housing, Dantata Estate, other parts of Kubwa, Dutse Alhaji and even the closest which is Arab Road enjoy almost 24 hours of Light.
All entreaties to @PHCNnigeria to atleast reconnect the Area which has been regarded as kubwa village to the 33 KVA line which Arab Road uses has fallen on deaf hear. Someone please help me get the attention of @tundefashola to come to our aid. WHAT IS THE "ELECTRICITY"? DO YOU MEAN GENERATOR SET? |

Its obvious that life is a cycle.
There was this job vacancy in my place of work and 8 people did apply for it which they were to be interviewed yesterday.
By privilege as an Admin/Acct Officer I was authorized by my HR who was engaged in a crucial meeting to conduct the interview on his behalf so far I know what the company requires.
Lo and behold among them was my secondary school Teacher who did teaching practice (TP) when I was in SS1.
We were both shocked when we saw each other, looking at each other, I smiled and said Sir kindly have a seat.
We gist for 30mnts then I used 5mnts to ask him where he worked before now, that's all.
Meanwhile, I recommended him OK for the job and asked him to come and start work tomorrow.
It is good to live peacefully with all men as you may not know where your turning table will stop next.
The question is, was that a dishonesty for me to have picked him as there were 2 people who had professional certification ahead of him?

My live in brother in law of whom we are agemates barged into my room unannounced this morning. I was totally naked & had to dive under the bed from the shame & shock.
He stood there apologising that he didn't know i was in the room (we had met outside by the clothes line a short while ago).
The most painful part is that my husband who was lying in d bed in the room didn't find it necessary to utter a word.
When I confronted him, he said that shebi his brother had said 'sorry'
I really don't know what to do. I feel let down by hubby's reaction & also ashamed about the whole incident.

This shows that the 'rich also cry'. This is the state of Victoria Island Garden City VGC after rainfall in Lagos today. Reports have it that some major roads have been rendered inaccessible after being overtaken by raging floods in the area as road users and motorists lament.
According to reports, the early morning downpour in Lagos which resulted in heavy flooding in VGC caused heavy traffic from Mega Chicken to VGC leading to Ajah fly-over.

I would be infinitely grateful if experienced architects and allied professionals can help me vet this building cost breakdown. The mentioned costs is a 2 & 3 bedroom detached bungalow. It was prepared by an architect and in addition to not being around, I do not have the qualification nor experience to ascertain how competitive in terms of cost this is.
Please I really need your help. Is the cost breakdown a close enough reflection of the true situation of things ( it was prepared just a day ago) or is it way off board?
Can I go ahead with the project?
Like I said, it's just the cost of erecting a carcass (that's the name they say you experts call it) while I handle some other projects that are very pertinent. I may be wrong in my terminology but, what I typed there is the exact document I was given, so never minding the nomenclature of the job, are the listed tasks going to gulp the assigned sum or it may be done for cheaper (not shoddier).
