Lol you all will get yours soonest. Airport was fine, no issues in Lagos airport. Went on a 7 hour flight to Dubai, had a four hour stop over. Left Dubai for Sydney(13hour flight), DIBP at Sydney asked for my yellow card and they asked if I carried anything prohibited and I said no and that was it. Waited for a five hour stop over and left sydney for Wagga Wagga.
Visa grants will roll in this week by his grace. Amen, remember stay hopeful

Wait..what can be used in place of the yellow card? I don't have it ooh

Happy weekend fam!!

In my own limited understand about the whole visa waiting thing, I would suggest that people whose visa process time has exceeded 36days/50days should call Pretoria and confirm what is going on +27124236203.

It's just a suggestion tho.

He is correct. Engineering masters doesn't change anything as regards PR.

Just let the gurus guide you on how to handle EA. There is a possibility that they would assess you as a Professional Engineer instead of an Engineering Technologist.

Thanks for the response

You can get assessed as an engineering technologist.

Even if my masters is in petroleum / environmental engineering?
Travel / Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by jackson2dye4: 4:37pm On Jun 14, 2017
catchdwind4rmkd:
changing your MSc course may not necessarily have an effect on your assessment and eventual application. EA assessment is based mainly on a bachelors degree which is expected to have been completed with 4yrs or more modules.

But I'd reckon your MSc doesn't have that huge impact; say your first degree is in a course that's not on the list and you complete your msc in a course on the list, you still won't get positive assessment outcome from EA.

Hello house, please tell me this isn't right! My first degree is in Petroleum engineering and I intend to study environmental engineering in oz, does this mean i wont be eligible for PR after my msc degree because Petroleum Engineering isnt on the sol/csol list?

Please do all you can to get it changed. Its not easy for students paying the bills although they still work and get the bills paid but it wouldn't be good to go through all the pains and not be able to use it for PR purpose.

This land is full of opportunity for all although your journey will be faster with PR than student visa and many of the student i have met here does not even know that it is possible to process PR from Naija. The ultimate aim of majority of them is to get PR because things would have been more easier for them.

Thanks much bruh, Id b in oz 2weeks b4 resumption, so I intend to change it then ....

Let me first of all give you thumbs up for thinking in this direction, the only thing you don't want to do to yourself is coming to study and just leave just like that. Brother this place is far ooooo and couple with the fact that tuition fees are on the high side. My suggestions is if you can change from MSC petroleum to any course on the skill select, it will be a nice thing to do even if that will make you postpone your entry for next month to a later month or thereabout because the ultimate goal is not the entry, the goal is the change of residence status. The fact is oil market is down everywhere and for you now to take a masters in petroleum is something personally as an Engineer I won't advise, the world is shift from the Oil market bro. No matter the course you take here, as long as you b Naija trained, you will excel that's for sure, so look at your options man don't come in and start saying had I know.

Thanks a lot... School resumes 24th July and I looking to do a change of course before den, I hope I won't have to postpone my entry tho

Hello, please I need the suggestions of gurus in the house.. I am to resume at UNSW next month to study msc Petroleum Engineering but I found out that it's off the sol/csol list, please I think for PR purpose I'd need to change my course b4 resumption. I need opinions on what suitable course to switch to that would still be in the sol/csol list b4 I graduate. The only course on my mind is Environment Engineering but I don't know if it can stand the test of time

Hello fam!

Please I'd be heading to NSW (kensington) next month, I've been checking for accommodatiin on gumtree and the cheapest have seen is about A$180 /week, abeg can't I get something cheaper?? I really wud like to cut my expenses down to the least possible.

I think the reason people really opt for canada is that, it's closer to home bro and it's way cheaper, their are schools of 8,000ca$ per year, for aussie people pay 17,000$ for a semester.
Make we talk true, Na person weh get money dey go Australia

My point exactly... With what u mentioned, who wouldn't prefer Canada? But you and I chose Aussie , why? One simple answer... We stand a better chance to x naija!! Not because any1 is fake or genuine
M just trying to say we shud take it easy on ourselves as Nigerians. I just think ur suggestion of AL being cancelled is selfish cos u fit into any of the assessment levels

Oh yes! I get pissed with the AL of a thing too. Genuineness should be the priority! Many genuine students are been refused and fake ones are been granted visa thereby causing problems and giving bad name to Nigerian. I just tire oo! DIBP wake up from slumber

Sorry bro, I don't agree with ur terms "fake" "genuine"..what makes u more genuine than other applicants? Cos u have more money in the bank? M sure if u given a chance u'd prefer Canada yet u waiting for an oz grant!
There are applicants whose sponsors are quite capable of sponsoring them but can't just afford to leave 15m lying in the account for 3months
That been said... M positive grants would start rolling in tomorrow in Jesus name!! that shud be our concern

This shouldn't be happening o! As someone said you should ask for refund policies and again that won't be the best cos I'm so sure of it that from ur immi account showing assessment in progress, the next is finalized and have visa granted upon providing the SOA... you can use a relative as sponsor who has a foreign account like I used from a Norwegian who accept to sponsor me and I got the statement translated to English for embassy use.

Refund from who?? That's not an option at this stage.
Gurus, at some point last week my sponsor had about 9m in his account. Please what is the main requirement in assessing SOA? Closing balance? Or i need the 9m to be in for 3months

Initially bro, didn't you upload sponsor bank statement when applying for visa? You might think it's not required as the school AL1 doesn't ask for SOA but immigration has there own rules too. In this case that ur case officer request for sponsor account, kindly do so in other to avoid delay in ur visa processing. When did you lodge ur visa application?

No.. I didn't upload because it wasn't required and all the people I know that applied to AL1 schools didn't upload as well and they got their grant. I lodged May 9th

Have you applied for visa already?
How much are they requesting you have in your SOA?

If you haven't applied for your visa and you haven't paid any tuition deposit and you don't have enough money in your account, just apply to other schools under AL1, its well.

My case officer just mailed me, requesting that I upload my sponsor's bank statement to my immi account...I applied to unsw (AL1) , what do I do?? I am really confused!!! Sponsor didn't work on his SOA
