Day 01
It's been one day without fapping. I've had a couple urges today, but, I've been able to brush them off.

I've been doing some productive work lately, preparing for all the stuff I'll be doing during the reboot period.

I'm currently writing and editing a guide to surviving nofap. I'll be posting that in the days to come.

Yes I watch porn, I am not going to pretend. Despite all the disadvantages attributed to porn, its working for me.

How?

It is true that if you are not careful with PN, it will deform you sexually. E.g. you see male pornstars going hours before climaxing. This is a misconception. They are either on drugs or the scene doctored. Also all por_nstar pinis are always large, therefore, guys with average pinis will start feeling inferior.

I can continue to count many misconceptions, but I am not writing this post because of that.
PN has helped me satisfy women in the past. All my ex always want to come back to have a taste after they leave me.
I gained so much sexual experiences and flavours from PN. While having it, I explore different options with my partner. So sex with me is never dull.


I am not advertising myself. Just trying to state the obvious that PN is not that harmful if you have emotional control. And I am not alone in this. I know many guys/ladies who actively watch PN and are great in bed.

The fact that Nigeria's Political leadership have negated their primary responsibilities pf providing amenities and infrastructures as well as good governance to her citizens but resort to regulating how the citizens should use their sex organs magnifies a greater systemic dysfunction than I thought.

That aside, I have done extensive research on Homo sexuality, and I realized that outside of Earth, there are Extra Terrestrial races of Beings, some highly spiritual, who prefer homosexuality to straight intercourse, some ETs races have up to 5 gender types which our 5 limited senses can not even begin to put into words. I did a lot of research on growing beards and what can help them grow. Testosterone can definitely have a positive effect on beards, although genetics has the upper hand. If it's not in your genes then you can exercise forever and won't see any result.

Let's take the boredom scenario for example;

1. I'm bored

2. I go online without a purpose

3. I remember a porn site I saw last week

4. I tell myself I'll take a quick peek

5. 4 hours later I've visited 6 sites and downloaded 15 videos

6. Fap time

7. I bust a nut and feel guilty after

8. Dopamine kicks in powering the chaser effect

9. I fap again

10. The cycle repeats

If I can side step being bored by engaging in a constructive activity that interests me. I can avoid every other thing on the list.

That's the benefit of knowing your triggers.

Homework For The Day

Get a piece of paper or a book, and make a list of all the fap scenarios you can recall. Catalog the triggers you find.

All you have to do is avoid or change what's at the top of the list. If you can do that, then you'll be on clear standing.

What about the third thing?

The third thing I've done is to document my triggers. What do I mean by triggers?.

We don't fap out of the blue, there's usually something that pushes us. A trigger, i.e a steamy movie scene, pretty girls on the street, feeling lonely etc.

There's a theory that if you can spot the trigger for an addictive behaviour, and avoid it. You can escape the slippery slope that leads back to the addiction.

My triggers so far;
1. Boredom

2. Feelings of loneliness

3. Seeing attractive women

4. Lying on my bed

5. Getting ready for bed

6. Waking up during the night

7. Spending time online (with lots of data)

This is where journalling becomes handy. As time goes on you'll be able to pinpoint scenarios that make you think of PMO. And take steps to counter them.

Day 0

The countdown begins, if I can survive without PMO for 24 hours I'll gain a day of abstinence. How's it been going for me?. I had some urges in the morning, but I brushed them off.

So far I haven't had any major urge hit me. It's been smooth coasting since morning. There are 3 important things I did today.

First, I got rid of my porn stash. It was a stash of over 300-400mb of porn which I won't be missing.

Second, I figured out what I'd be doing to keep myself busy during the reboot. I'm going to be working on developing and strengthening some good habits, while erasing PMO from my daily routine.

To help me achieve this, I'm going to be using what's known as the X effect. Research shows that it takes 21 days on average to form or break a habit. The X effect is generous enough to give you 49 days to work on your habit.

It's a system where you do or don't do something for seven weeks. The logic behind it is simple. If you do a task consecutively for 49 days, it shouldn't be difficult to do it on day 50. Since it's now something you do regularly.

You can get your X effect scorecard by making a 7x7 grid on paper. Every day you do the task, you'll put an X on the grid.

Alternatively, you can use an app for this. I use X effect on my android device. A quick Google search should give you resources for other devices.

Day -1

Porn doesn't make me happy anymore

After fapping for the 11,000th time I've come to discover something. I just realized that porn doesn't make me happy anymore.

The rush isn't there,and I feel hollowed out just looking at it. This opened my eyes to another truth.

I just discovered that....

I can't do this anymore

I just can't, I tried to force myself into gooning but deep down I knew that I was done. I can't go back now, because I don't feel alive with PMO.

I can't roll in the dirt, not after tasting the glory of 5 months plus of Nofap. I just can't.

I tried to delude myself into believing that I could accept the addiction. I even looked for resources to help me fall deeper into addiction.

But it was all a sham.

At the end I always knew I wasn't going to live like that. Which made me ask the question .

Is this the end?

Apparently it is.

I've lived with addiction, and I've lived without it. And I can say that life is freer without the chains of porn addiction.

What is to be done?

First off, I have to get rid of my porn stash. Next, I need to find some meaningful enterprise to engage myself in during the duration of the challenge.

Why bother?

Losing an addiction leaves a vacuum in a person's life. If you watched porn 4 hours a day everyday and you decided to quit.

You'd have 4 hours free that could be used for either good or bad. Why not use it for good?.

In conclusion

I've made the decision to get my life back on track and I'm sticking to it. It's a tough journey and I have a long way to go.

But like every other worthwhile journey on earth it all begins with a single step. I've made my step today, and I'd be great if you made yours.
