ABUJA-BARELY 72hours after the conclusion of the supplementary governorship election in Kogi state, the deputy governorship aspirant to the Late Abubakar Audu, Abiodun Faleke who refused to deputise Yahaya Bello who succeeded late Audu in the election, on Tuesday, showed up in the House of Representatives, where he took part in the legislative business of the day. Faleke who rejected being declared governor-elect of Kogi State after the death of his principal, Prince Audu currently represents Ikeja Federal Constituency in the 8th House of Representatives where he also chairs the Committee on Customs and Excise. The towering lawmaker stormed the green chamber spotting a white flowing ‘Agbada’ and a hand-made red cap, amid cheers from his colleagues in the House as he approached the chair where he held a brief chat with Speaker Yakubu Dogara before resuming to take his seat. Faleke who rejected his re-nomination as deputy governorship candidate to the eventual winner and governor-elect, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has since gone to court asking the Judiciary to declare him governor-elect instead of Yahaya Bello whose name the All Progressives Congress (APC) forwarded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as subtitle to the late Prince Audu. In the suit, Faleke argues that both the INEC and the APC erred by, first, declaring the election inconclusive when the circumstances leading to cancellation of votes in most of the affected polling units bothered on over-voting and refusal to use card reader which amounted to violation of the electoral Act of 2010. He is also faulting APC’s decision to substitute late Audu with Yahaya Bello when he (Faleke) who participated in all the stages of the election with the late candidate should have been the replacement as against Yahaya Bello who did not participate in all the stages of the election apart from the primaries where he came second. His camp also accused Yahaya Bello of anti party activities during the inconclusive poll, saying that the latter worked against the interest of the APC which accounted for why the party even lost his own polling booth in Okene. However, efforts to get views of lawyers concerning the legal implication of the development could not yield results as at press time.

WaffenSS: I dont want to argue the context, because if that were the case, i'd start quoting scriptures from the bible along same lines, especially the old testament. And then we'd spend eternity going back and forth.
I'm not here to apologize, nor appease. The crazies would no doubt account for their deeds. I as a Muslim feel no shame being one, only pride. So you're perfectly free to hold your opinions about us, wont make any difference because no Muslim validates his faith on the strength of christianity's approval.
Let me give you an example. The biggest mass murderer of mankind of the 20th century was Adolf Hitler. In his book Mein Kampf (which is the manifesto of the Nazis) he said "Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord."
In a speech in 1922 he also said "My feelings as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter. It points me to the man who once in loneliness, surrounded by a few followers, recognized these Jews for what they were and summoned men to fight against them and who, God's truth! was greatest not as a sufferer but as a fighter. In boundless love as a Christian and as a man I read through the passage which tells us how the Lord at last rose in His might and seized the scourge to drive out of the Temple the brood of vipers and adders. How terrific was His fight for the world against the Jewish poison. To-day, after two thousand years, with deepest emotion I recognize more profoundly than ever before the fact that it was for this that He had to shed His blood upon the Cross. As a Christian I have no duty to allow myself to be cheated, but I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice... And if there is anything which could demonstrate that we are acting rightly it is the distress that daily grows. For as a Christian I have also a duty to my own people."
He inspired one of the most christian nations on earth to follow in his madness and massacre millions. Do we then ascribe a christian overtone to his lunacy, to his murder? Obviously no. Hitler was just a sick, demented demagogue. And demagogues have a way of justifying their inner madness.
Also, if that 'injunction' were to be literal, do you think any single christian would remain alive in places Muslims dominate?
So if you believe that all 2.5 billion of us, amongst us doctors, professors, scientists, engineers, philosophers, business people, bankers, teachers, world leaders...if you think all 2.5 billion of us are crazies, then i leave you to your delusions. So you went about digging the archives on Hiltler just to explain away the violence Islam is unleashing on the world today? You craftly dodged the question. Let me put it in another way. If all of a sudden Muslims all over the world decided to live in peace with themselves and with people of other faiths, are they still obeying their god who instructed them to harvest the necks of kafirs? |

AishyWemsy: This thread brought tears to my eye, not because of what Trump said, but the level of hatred for Islam in this country, to u Christians supporting this and making jokes, I pity u. If by now u still think this terrorist are Muslims, u must be dumb, how could they be Muslims and still be killing their own people, 95 percent of terrorist attacks in this country happened in Muslims dominated states. The Imams, Mthat preached against them have been killed, the mosques burnt. You people fail to realise that Islam is the only religion that stand boldly against atrocities committed around the world, Islam is spreading daily, and it scares them. All these are just to tarnish the Image of Islam and send wrong message. Can any south western Christians boldly say the Muslims around them are not peaceful? Our southern people in Nigeria are full off rage for Islam and their reason is more political than fair. Don't forget what trump said about Africa and black Americans, some even curse him among u supporting him now. We should be fair. I am a Muslim and I am proud. Islam is nothing but religion of peace. One love So you would only believe the killers were muslim if they were killing only Christians? Again why is your example of peace restricted to Western Nigeria? Why not venture north or better still the middle east where the religion originated? |

WaffenSS: You're not being fair to us.
In the old days christianity had its share of crazies and terrorists killing and pillaging in the name of god. Now Islam is going through its own dark period. What is the population of muslims? Billions. How many are terrorists? A couple of hundred thousands.
We should not be all held accountable for the crimes of a few. And mind you muslims suffer the terrorist attacks and its consequences more than any other. ISIS kills more muslims than any other, as do Al Qaeda, Al shabaab, Boko Haram etc. Let me ask you an honest question! Do you mean there will come a time in the future when Muslims will no longer want carry out the Quranic injunction to exterminate all non believers as clearly stated in their holy book? |

In my family, there are couples of mixed religion, is Trump saying he will allow the husband in and not the wife? Wetin concern Trump with husband and wife issue here? The man is saying that if given the chance in his own America no Muslim will enter there because of their violent nature and you are here talking about husband and wife. Do you think that its only single Muslims that are violent? If you are disguised then stay in your better Nigeria now. Na by force to go there when they clearly don't want you he?This issue pass you. Christianity Etc › Money:gods Creation? by jacksonite(op): 12:56pm On Dec 08, 2015 |
The dominance of money in the world today and especially in the act of Christian worship cannot be overemphasized. Take a look at just four scenarios;1The growth of the church is strongly tied to Money. It is needed in building and maintainance of structures, payment of staff salaries, organisation of crusades, payment for international flights etc. 2 The spirituality of the church is also tied to its wealth because God is not poor and thus he blesses his own with lots of money. Thats why many people see big churches with large congregations and with deep pockets as the spiritual churches. 3 A good part of individual worship involves money whether you call it tithing, offering, Thanksgiving, harvest etc. 4 To some Gods blessing is counted in monetary terms; bank balance, cars, jets, mansions, job etc. Did God create money? There is no mention of money in the creation story Jesus also said that rich people are very unlikely to enter Gods kingdom. When presented with money(coin) he said that it belonged to Caesar(the world) and should be given back to same.So if God did not create Money in the beginning then how and when has money taken over Gods relationship with man in our churches today? |

kayode27: A big disgrace. Inec has failed to build on what Jega left behind.
But I am not in anyway surprised. A dunce is the President. He doesn't see himself as a dunce really. He thinks he is smart and that he can use INEC, tribunals and courts to impose his will on the people, forgetting so soon that somebody built the Democratic structure that allowed him to even win a sitting President in a Democratic election. Yes GEJ recognized Nigerians as having the final say on who their leaders are even to the point of surrendering his throne. If Nigerians keep quiet and allow a sit tight dictator to destroy that structure then they are the real dunces and the real lossers! |

We are told that constant exercise is good for our body and well being. Exercises help in reducing our body cholesterol, reducing our risk of high blood pressure and stroke, reducing risk of diabetes etc. The most common exercises are running, jumping, cycling, press up and a few others But one activity that I can't place where it belongs is sex. This activity actually leaves one breathless and physically drained just like a Marathon. But is it really a form of body exercise? If so can it be a substitute for other exercises?I mean that instead of cycling can one have sex instead and get the same result? Is someone that has sex regularly, ceteris paribus, likely to be as healthy as one who exercises regularly? Pls only matured comments are entertained. |
Politics › Re: Kogi: Court Gives INEC Permission To Continue Election by jacksonite: 3:38pm On Dec 04, 2015 |
Ferdinandu: Governorship Candidate is a joint ticket between Governor/Deputy. As long as Audu participated, it equally means that Faleke participated. That Augument that Faleke didn't participate is non and void. Bello didn't participate in the main election, he is just participating in the supplementary election which means how can INEC announce that that Bello having polled so so no of votes is declared elected when obviously about 240,000 is not his vote. This judgment is not in favour of any of the concerned parties. In fact Faleke can claim that the court has okayed him as APC flagbearer for the supplementary election same as Bello.Wada can also see hope in it. Remember that the court says that INEC should go ahead with the supplementary election as if nothing happened and announce the winner and then wait for tribunal on post election grievances. In fact any one of them boycotting the supplementary election would be doing himself a lot of harm. This lockjam will only be resolved after the completion of the electoral process. |

In fact, the report reaching us had indicated that Okorocha's son in-law was named not nominated as APC candidate Imo State. Nigeria is a joke and it seems worse everyday. Same thing happened in Benue state. The bonafide APC candidate is in court to claim his stollen mandate. Let's see what the tribunal will do there too. |
