Ephemmm: I know you are not talented when it comes to comprehension, but I will explain to you further. Who said other presidents were not corrupt? Did anybody stop OBJ from probing his predecessor? Who stopped GEJ from probing OBJ. Tinubu is corrupt, after being in charge of EFCC, ICPC, SSS, Nigerian Police, etc does PDP expect common man to probe Tinubu after his tax has been paid?
For your information, Tinubu was not even a Governor not to talk of a Senator: why can't he be probed by GEJ since he didn't enjoy any immunity?
If PMB sees nothing wrong in probing, he has the power to do so: if he thinks otherwise, he has the power to do so. You can't be putting pressure on me after you failed to perform your responsibility as your successor: get your fact right. If on the other hand you admit that other past leaders including buhari himself were/are corrupt then there in lies my argument: What is the moral justification of one corrupt leader calling another corrupt? There is no law that bars buhari from probing from the very first government in 1960.Since he is the probing type let him do a thorough job of it rather than just picking on who to probe at a whim. That would be seen as vindictiveness, especially in the face of his claim that one of world acclaimed most corrupt leader (abacha) didn't steal a kobo from Nigeria. Get that into your thick skull Mr comprehension teacher. |

Ephemmm: “Let me tell you, if Obsanjo and Yar”Adua and all of the past governments before Jonathan needed to have been probed, why did Mr. Jonathan shy away from his responsibility? Why didn’t he probe him why he was in office? Why didn’t Mr. Tanko Yakkassai ask Jonathan to probe Yar’Adua, Babangida, Obasanjo? Why do they have to wait for Buhari to come to do what he should have done then?
What an epic response for TANoids! They can continue wailing by even asking PMB to start the probe from the days of Lugards. Taking responsibility is one of the hallmarks of Nolan's principle of corporate governance for public office: I wonder why some idiotic youths will be opening their mouths in an idiotic way to prevent any government to defend anything that happens under its watch.
Unfortunately for PDPs, they will be mentioning Tinubu anytime the issue of probing arises. PDP has been in charge of SSS, NA, Police, ICPC, EFCC etc, which altogether served as weapon in the arsenal of PDP to prosecute Tinubu: the question is was Tinubu enjoying immunity to the extent that he cannot be prosecuted throughout 16 years in which PDP has ruled?
GEJ has the prerogative to probe his predecessors if he choose to: it is his choice not to because of his cluelessness. In other words, nobody can force PMB to start his probing from any regime so far nobody forced GEJ to probe or not to probe.
PDP = People Deceiving People In other words what the presidency and you are saying is that the previous regimes of obj abacha,,ibb, yar adua etc were not corrupt and hence needed not be probed. It all started during gej that is why the probe begins and ends there. No wonder buhari is on record for sayings that abacha did not steal a kobo. This is the hypocrisy that some of us see in this probe. Remember that a probe can either condemn or vindicate someone. So why are you okay with probing gej but not tinubu, amechi and other apc members? If this regime choses to be backward looking instead of foward looking then that is it's cup of tea. But then let it not cheery pick which past to dwell on. This may be reason why Bishop kukah advised that the government should rather dwell on delivering its promises to Nigerians instead of chasing shadows. |

Ephemmm: And what is the Bigi about Anambra State Governor increasing salary since last year? Go and deepen your research, Aregbesola approved payment of salaries more than minimum wages since about 3-4 years ago.
To be candid, he is not a poor Governor as painted, but he bites more than what he can chew in my own opinion. Despite the drastic reduction in FG allocations, how can a state like Osun without much internally generated revenue embark on the following:
1. Cancellation of PTA fee
2. Provision of Uniforms for school pupil
3. Provision of meal for pupils
4. Provision of Opon Imo for pupils
5. Embarking on construction of ultra-modern school buildings
6. Provision of school buses for pupils etc
The question is - how can a State like Osun without much functioning industries nor much internally-generated revenue embark on all these project that even a state like Lagos with better allocations and revenues cannot sustain?
Aregbesola needs re-orientation: freedom is not even free in Freetown. So define poverty for me when a state governor cannot actualize any of the above mentioned projects he willingly embarked upon without the funds to see them through. Be candid. Gov Aregbe is suffering from poverty of ideas and Osun state is suffering from poverty of leadership |

Or will he be switching recovered fund from one ministry to the other.Recovered fund is only a bonus and not the crux of the development fund. Except the law is amended to empower CCB to make assets declaration public, the agency can do nothing about it. So as it stands, Buhari has no obligation to make his assets public even though he promised to do so and he failed. Thats the problem. Why can't buhari give CCB that consent to publish his assets publicly knowing fully well that he made a solemn vow with Nigerians on it of which Nigerians fulfilled their own part by voting him into power. |

Bollinger: Dear Nairalanders. Let me try to enlighten you on why declaration of assets does not me jack shiit. There is a deeper problem and for some reason you all are ignoring it or just don't know. If you all don't know it makes it worse and definitely scary.
As a citizen of Nigeria, it is your responsibility to pay taxes. For you to pay according to your worth, your income/assets should always be made assessible. If the state does not know your worth then how can they tax you properly? Asking someone to declare assets is both mo.ronic and s.tupid. The state and law enforcement agencies should have access to this without hindrance. The IRS will never come to ask you to declare your assets irrespective of position. They find your assets, and you can't hide from the IRS. President obama's taxes was made public this year. Think about that. Like i said, this is a deeper problem. Nigerian don't pay tax. And that, Ladies and gentlemen is not good for the Nation. Are you saying that buhari has not been paying his taxes all this while hence his fear to declare his assets publicly? If so he is corrupt then and needs to be probed. |

volo112: to some people, fayose is a hero, a superstar and a role model while to some people , he talks too much. no matter how you view his opinions, he will always have those who are for him and those who are against him.
what are the implications of his actions? he will be popular, famous and well loved by some and hated by the others
what are the implications of going against the fg led by buhari? some state govs like rivers, akwa-ibom, delta ,anambra, even ondo can afford to do somethings because of their allocations but not ekiti. Nigeria as it is today, if the fg decides to use 10% of his powers against ekiti, fayose will just go in to political oblivion. Others pdp govs are not commenting on all issues, they are simply negiotating on how to draw fg projects to their states. they are very wise. Must fayose comment on every issue?
example of a gov who was taught fg101 lesson gov aregbesola was very loved by the people of osun before the salary saga. he even once told the whole world that he can survive without the fg allocation. fast forward, today he has been taught fg101, he failed woefully in the course. the people that once loved him began to sing another song after owing them 7months salary, just like osun, ekiti is also a civil servant state, Any attempt to financially strangulate the ekiti government will cause problem for fayose because he wont be able to pay salaries, banks will be instructed not offer credit facilities to his government, going to the capital market will also be frustrated. there are several ways fg can do it even in a legitimate way. Ask Gov aregebshola.
the fg can even give him a police commisioner like mbu, let him ask former gov amechi what it feels like.
who will suffer? the people of the state, the civil servants, the market men and women, the masses, the poor
who wont suffer? the politicians, the legislators, the top hierarchy of the civil service
Advice to fayose? he can keep the fg on its toes by pointing out errors in their policies but he should not be the one to do the dirty job all the time. let him allow other pdp governors do the talking also. he should not be used as poster boy to attack buhari all the time while others are queuing up behind him and negotiating with the fg without him knowing. how many pdp govs have attacked buhari directly or indirectly since buhari was sworn in asides fayose?
Gov aregbesola is still very much around to share his experience my humble opinion In your opinion Osun state was singularly denied allocation just to punish Aregbesola. Warped reasoning! You must be a joker. |
