Politics / Borno Government Suspends Lockdown Indefinitely by Jadsy01(f): 4:00am On May 14, 2020
Chairman of Borno State Response Committee on Prevention and Control of COVID-19, who is also the state’s deputy governor, Hon. Usman Umar Kadafur, has said that the state government decided to suspend the three-week old lockdown but with stringent measures to be adopted by both the government and people.

He also commended the people of the state for their support and cooperation during the lockdown while appealing to the state association of Ulamas and CAN to ensure strict compliance with the face masks wearing and maintenance of social distancing in mosques and churches during worship.

The deputy governor stated this in a statement on Wednesday night before the expiration of the lockdown by 10:30pm.

The statement further warned tricycle riders and other public transport operators to adhere strictly to the established rules and guidelines of wearing face masks and observing social distancing.

It also warned hotels and alcohol joints are still closed and the law on liquor will be applied to any defaulter.

The statement also stated that henceforth, five times prayers are allowed in mosques while Christians will open churches and conduct their services based on the recommendation of CAN leadership as agreed.

Politics / Officers In Bop Daddy Challenge Have Been Posted To Boko Haram Hit States by Jadsy01(f): 6:56pm On May 13, 2020
Immigration officers in Bop Daddy Challenge have been posted to Boko Haram hit states

Five female Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) personnel who took part in the viral #BopDaddyChallenge, have been posted to restive states in the country for their troubles, according to NewsWireNGR.
In April, NIS issued a query to the ladies, saying their participation in the challenge had caused the organisation “a lot of embarrassment.”

The challenge, a sensation on social media during a coronavirus-induced – ekomiamiblog – lockdown across Nigeria, is one in which ladies flaunt different glowing images of themselves thanks to smartphone-enabled high-resolution photography and editing.

‘Bop Daddy’ is the latest offering from rapper Falz. It features Ms. Banks.twitter.com

NewsWireNGR reports that following their appearance in the viral #BopDaddy video, Priscilla Irabor, Catherine J. Bakura, Blessing Alfred Udida, Binti I. Attabor and Ockiya Eneni have now been posted to states where insurgency and banditry are rife.

In a memo it exclusively obtained, the news platform writes that the officers “have been given just 7 days to report at their new places of assignment.”

The road to Siberia
In the postings ostensibly orchestrated to meet punitive and discriminatory objectives, Priscilla Irabor has been transferred from NIS Lagos State Command to the Nigeria Immigration Training School, Kano (ITSK).

Binti Attabor has been reposted from the service headquarters in Abuja to the Yobe State Command.

Catherine Bakura has been moved from the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport in Enugu to the - ekomiamiblog- Nigeria Immigration Training School Ahoada in Rivers State.

Blessing Alfred Udida, the report states, has been moved from the FCT (Abuja) Command to the Akwa Ibom State Command.

Ockiya Eneni has been transferred from the CERPAC (Combined Expatriate Residence Permit and Aliens Card) production facility to the Borno State Command.

Politics / “Coronavirus Will Disappear Even Without Vaccine” – Donald Trump by Jadsy01(f): 9:19am On May 10, 2020
US President, Donald Trump has said the dreaded Coronavirus pandemic is going to “end without a vaccine.”
Trump told the press during his daily briefing at the White House at the weekend;

“This is going to go away without a vaccine, it’s gonna go away, and we’re not going to see it again, hopefully, after a period of time.”

He added:-
“You may have some flare-ups, and I guess I would expect that.”

As at Friday, the deadly virus had infected at least 1.2 million people in the US killing more than 76,000.(www.ekomiami.com.ng)

The leading expert on infectious diseases on the US COVID-19 task force, Dr. Anthony Fauci, had repeatedly said a vaccine is still at least a year to 18 months from being produced.

Meanwhile, President Trump insists he relies on what doctors tell him, adding that doctors believe COVID-19 will go away but did not say if it was going to be this year.

“It doesn’t mean, frankly, it’s going to be gone before the fall or after the fall, but eventually it’s going to go away.

The question is whether we will need a vaccine. At some point, it will probably go away by itself.”

Religion / Re: Pastor Oyemade Disagrees With Oyedepo, Oyakhilome On The Closure Of Churches by Jadsy01(f): 10:06am On May 09, 2020
Recall that Pastor Oyakhilome of Christ Embassy and Bishop Oyedepo of Winners Chapel criticized the federal government for sidelining churches when it eased the lockdown in Lagos, Ogun, and Abuja. In his response to this criticism, Pastor Oyemade said the closure of churches does not in any way stop the Holy Spirit from working. Making reference to the Bible, he said: “The sick healed in the book of Acts were healed on the streets, in people’s homes, in public places and not within the four walls of a Church.”

He said true faith and the anointing of the Spirit has not stopped working even though churches have been shut down. Pastor Oyemade said: “Closing the doors of a physical building does not in any way mean the closure of the anointing of the Spirit from working. “Church buildings may be shut down but true faith and the anointing of the Spirit has not stopped working.” According to the man of God, there is nowhere in Jesus’s ministry where the healing of the sick was preceded by a congregational service.

Religion / Pastor Oyemade Disagrees With Oyedepo, Oyakhilome On The Closure Of Churches by Jadsy01(f): 11:41pm On May 08, 2020
The Senior Pastor of The Covenant Christian Centre Lagos, Pastor Poju Oyemade, has disagreed with prominent preachers against the continuous closure of churches over the COVID-19 pandemic.

Though the lockdown has been eased in Lagos, Ogun and FCT, President Muhammadu Buhari ordered worship centres will remain shut till further notice.

But founder of Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, slammed the authorities for closing churches, saying they should be healing centres.

Founder of Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, backed Oyakhilome, stating the continuous closure of churches was suspicious.

According to him, it was part of the moves to stop the church of God from expanding.

But Oyemade, whose birthday on his Instagram page, said the closure of churches does not in any way stop the Holy Spirit from working.

Making reference to the Bible, he said: “The sick healed in the book of Acts were healed on the streets, in people’s homes, in public places and not within the four walls of a Church.”

He added: “Closing the doors of a physical building does not in any way mean the closure of the anointing of the Spirit from working.

“Church buildings may be shut down but true faith and the anointing of the Spirit has not stopped working.

“There is a difference between expression of emotions and the manifestation of the anointing to heal the sick.

“There is nowhere in Jesus’s ministry where the healing of the sick was preceded by a congregational service.

“In the Book of Acts, the sick were healed predominantly on the streets with no fanciful service going on.

“Closure of a church building does not stop the rivers of living water from flowing out of your belly. It resides in our inner man.

“There was collective prayer to receive a supply of the Spirit which led to outdoor manifestations.

He referred to Apostle Paul insisting Christians don’t have to be together in a physical space to receive that supply.

“Did he not say to the Church at Phillipi, I know this shall turn to my salvation through your prayers and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus? The Church was miles away from where Paul was.

“Charles Finney began a massive revival by people praying in their homes all keeping watches at the same time. They all chose the exact time to pray and they did in their homes until the Spirit broke out on the streets.

“They did not criticise any other Church or ministry of weakness. Criticizing others doesn’t attest to the fact that you have strength. They only stayed with God until something broke out on the streets.”
