What you term bravery is actually stupidity, the real brave and powerful people built empire. Lelelalalele: 1. Igbo: Igbo, also called Ibo, people living chiefly in southeastern Nigeria who speak Igbo, a language of the Benue-Congo branch of the Niger-Congo language family. The Igbo may be grouped into the following main cultural divisions: northern, southern, western, eastern or Cross River, and northeastern. Before European colonization, the Igbo were not united as a single people but lived in autonomous local communities. By the mid-20th century, however, a sense of ethnic identity was strongly developed, and the Igbo-dominated Eastern region of Nigeria tried to unilaterally secede from Nigeria in 1967 as the independent nation of Biafra. By the turn of the 21st century, the Igbo numbered some 20 million. https://ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/800/cpsprodpb/6EC4/production/_107965382_ohafiawarriors.jpg
2. Igala: Igala, also spelled Igara, a largely Muslim people of Nigeria, living on the left bank of the Niger River below its junction with the Benue River. Their language belongs to the Benue-Congo branch of the Niger-Congo family. Their ruler, the ata, traditionally also governed two other groups, the Bassa Nge and the Bass Nkome, who live between the Igala and the Benue River.
Traditional Igala society was politically organized as a kingdom. Kings were divine and were surrounded by numerous taboos; they held elaborate courts attended by a host of officials and servants, many of them slaves and eunuchs. All divine kingdoms in Africa had customs that acted as checks on the power of the king. This included a custom in which the queen mother could chastise the king; she was the only individual who was able to do so under the taboo system.
The Igala have been primarily an agricultural people, growing a wide range of crops typical of the area, including yams, taro, pumpkins, squash, corn (maize), manioc, and peanuts (groundnuts). Palm oil and kernels have become significant as cash crops. https://media.premiumtimesng.com/wp-content/files/2018/05/odunlade-adekola-movie.jpg
3. Fulani: Fulani, also called Peul or Fulbe, a primarily Muslim people scattered throughout many parts of West Africa, from Lake Chad, in the east, to the Atlantic coast. They are concentrated principally in Nigeria, Mali, Guinea, Cameroon, Senegal, and Niger. The Fulani language, known as Fula, is classified within the Atlantic branch of the Niger-Congo language family. https://lifestylemeg.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/fulani-tribe.jpg
4. Kanuri: Kanuri, African people, the dominant element of the population of Bornu state in northeastern Nigeria and also found in large numbers in southeastern Niger. The Kanuri language is classified as belonging to the Saharan branch of the Nilo-Saharan family. https://today.salamweb.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Kanem-Bornu-Empire-1.jpg
5. Bini: Edo, also called Bini, people of southern Nigeria who speak a language of the Benue-Congo branch of the Niger-Congo language family. The Edo numbered about 3.8 million at the turn of the 21st century. Their territory is west of the Niger River and extends from hilly country in the north to swamps in the Niger Delta. Edo is also the vernacular name for Benin City, the centre of the Benin kingdom, which flourished from the 14th to the 17th century. https://www.earthismysterious.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/The-Kingdom-of-Benin.jpg

They are threatening me that I would be held responsible if my mom dies,if I don't make sure she is cured.
But I have taken her to hospitals, and she is trying to recover.
I do this whenever I visit home since I am working in a state far from home.
Her health challenge is due to old age.
But today my uncle called me that I should resign, get back to the village and personally take care of my mom,
failure of which,if she dies, the whole family would hold me responsible for choosing job over my mom.
Can you imagine resigning your federal job to get to the village and start staying?
The calls, the demands, the attacks are getting too much for me.
Please should I just switch off my phone so that no one can contact me?

Are you sure of the bolded, how.many state were contested and how many did NCNC win?. Please use your Google and come back and reply me. Because nobody is responding to a lie doesn't make it a fact. Penguin2: Since Independence, only one Yoruba man has succeeded in ruling Nigeria, and has done that twice, and that's Olusegun Obasanjo. First as a military Head of State between 1976 and 1979 and secondly as a democratically elected president between 1999 and 2007. But guess what, Obasanjo is ironically the only Yoruba leader who is not an Igbo hater. In fact, during his Presidency he worked with a lot of Igbo brains which helped his presidency succeed; from Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala to Charles Soludo to Oby Ezekwesili, et al.
Now let's mirror other Yoruba leaders who have even been more popular but thought the Igbo race were for the crushing how their dreams of ruling Nigeria turned.
OBAFEMI AWOLOWO
One of the Nationalists and champions of independence, Awolowo is famed for being the originator of ethnic politics in Nigeria when he prevented Nnamdi Azikiwe whose party, the NCNC, won majority at the Western House of Assembly, from becoming premier of Western Region purely on tribal and primordial sentiments.
Again during the Nigeria-Biafra civil war, Awolowo, who was Minister of Finance then, made hunger a weapon of war against the East which led to the malnourishment and death of over 1million Igbo children. And at the end of the war, it was Awolowo who sat over the policy that every Igbo be give 20 pounds irrespective of what he had in the bank.
There you have it. Awolowo thought he could ride to the presidency on the back of Igbo hatred and subservience to northern oligarchy but it all ended a pipe dream with some conspiracy theorists claiming he drank rat poison and died a shameful death.
MKO ABIOLA
Not much is in the press of Abiola's anti-Igbo sentiments but it has been claimed that Abiola once threatened to sink a ship freighting Bible into Nigeria; a direct attack at the East which is predominantly Christian.
His anti-Igbo sentiments may have been reason why Bashir Torfa seemed to have garnered more votes in the East than Abiola did.
Yes. Abiola "won" but never became president. And so was the end of the dream of another Yoruba Igbo hater.
Now, as 2023 draws near, another Yoruba leader, Tinubu, is positioning to take his chances at the country's top post, riding on the back of Igbo hatred and some of kinsmen and footsoldiers are cheering him on.
One of the greatest lessons of history is that it teaches us that men do not learn anything from history.
And so like Awolowo like MKO Abiola and so would be Ahmed Bola Tinubu since he has chosen to toe the line of infamy.
Penguin is a bird of reason! |

Report him to the police that he is threatening you. They would pick him up and he would sign an undertaking that nothing must happen to you. Please pay him back his money when you have it or give him the phone. husseinaaa: I met this guy 2018 in my Madam's tailoring shop while I was learning as an apprentice.
He usually comes around, he talks and jokes with everyone in the shop and we are all free with him after sometimes of showing good behaviours towards us.
To cut the story short, one day he asked for my phone number that he wants to be communicating with me, so I told him I don't have a phone I am not working yet, I am still learning and he smiled and promised to buy me a phone, which I told him if it's not just a gift he should not buy but if he wants to dash me for no reason like having intention of relationship or sex etc he should. Then he said he just meant to buy for me as a friend and I thank him.
So few days later he gave me 50,000 to buy myself a phone and I collected it and appreciated it.
So we communicate normally but just as a friend.
Last month he started asking me out, I told him am not ready for relationship because the kind of suffering and stress I pass through to survive totally made me lose interest for anything like that, he got angry and told me to send back his 50,000 to him or I should accept him. He is threatening me because he knows I cannot afford such money to pay him so I told him to give me time, I will refund it just to avoid problem but he said no time will be given that either I should give him my virginity or if I don't pay before next 7 days he will destroy my life, either by jazz or attack.
I just don't know what to do I need advice. |
This is one of the evil, wicked and criminal lifestyle Jonathan and his evil party bestowed on our darling nation for 16 years.
We all still remembered the mayhem the Niger Delta kidnappers caused in this nation in all the years Jonathan was in power. Ikorodureporta still remembers how these guys chased him away from his abode in Isawo Ikorodu, burning down and killing all the policemen and women at Owutu Police Station (the thread is still here) And all the killings and kidnapping incidents in Arepo and different areas in Lagos and Nigeria at large. And what was Jona solution? He gave them amnesty and sent many of them abroad, with Tax payers money...even giving them monthly allowance up to half a million naira per person for years, just that they could stop kidnapping and pipeline explosions!!

Justice well served Ratello: The accused persons were like laelae kole happen do you know who we are and so they marched straight to the West African Court of Appeal (WACA) where they appealed the decision of the trial court. At WACA, they stood before the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice John Verity who presided with two other justices.
The appellate court listened to their pleas and reached the following conclusions: Although the disappearance of the child was reported to the Oba early in the afternoon, he as the head of the town did nothing until twilight.Five days after the disappearance, the Oba sent for the constable to say he had information that the child will be found at the forest near CMS compound.Upon the arrest of Enoch Falayi, he ordered his release because he claimed that Falayi was his ‘doctor’.The cops found the mutilated body exactly where the Oba said the police would find it.
The court held that even though these findings were circumstantial, the statements of other accused persons, and the ones read to him by the police which he confirmed, have already proved his guilt. The court specifically quoted Gabriel Olabirinjo’s statement read to the Oba by Sergeant Agbabiaka which the Oba, the Alaaye of Efon-Alaaye did not deny. The statement went thus: ‘I was in the palace of Alaaye of Efon at night, I saw Enoch carry one girl under his gown into the palace. He placed the girl under the staircase in the palace…Enoch left to call Alaaye…Alaaye came and saw the girl. He said Enoch should do her as he said he would do her….He carried the cigarette tin (in which the eyes and tongue were contained) to Oba Alaaye…The following night Oba Alaaye asked whether the corpse of the girl had been cleared…’ Justice Verity then concluded: ‘With acceptance of that statement as evidence of tacit admission of the facts therein, there is not only ample corroboration of the evidence…it goes further and is evidence of admission of facts from which no other conclusion is possible than that the appellant counseled and procured the murder of this child and was rightly found guilty thereof.’
Upon this final pronouncement, Kabiyesi Oba Samuel Adeniran Asusumasa Atewogboye II, the 43rd Alaaye of Efon-Alaaye, his herbalist and one of his servants and Gabriel Olabirinjo, were all hanged to death. |
