Even promotion in NNPC is based on quota and we are here discussing contract staff conversation. Contract staff are support staff,so how can they become full staff in the senior cadre? Contract staff are given specific assignment under a normal staff to assist, Infact they are not reflecting in the reporting system.because they are to help a normal staff to meet his own target for the company overall success. So they are tools to get what you want and not what is wanted by the cooperation.
For instance, as an officer, you now come to report that your tools should be recognized,
rather than your overall success

If they are to rely on this,they will never advertise.There is nothing like conversation.
Any vacant position is open to any Nigerian that emerged as being eligible and have satisfied all requirements above other contestants. Contract staff can never be converted, unless they fulfill all requirements of passing interview and test to be a normal staff. They contract staff have experience,but it's limited,because there is limit to what can be assigned to them; and even thier engagement is limited to some activities. For instance, you can't see any contract staff in a management meeting. They are only attached to some officials to help in doing the job and not an independent staffon thier own...

Okay, you are on point. But there is also crude oil marketing division aside nnpc retail...

I can infer u applied for supervisor, marketing/sales. There are so many contract staff in nnpc retail, the SBU where that role is domiciled. I am not sure if conversion can place them that high but I do know many of them made it to the interview stage. Fyi, you must have over 15 years experience to think of SS2 above.

When Nigeria is going on recession, let it start from other useless agencies and not places like NNPC and CBN, because even in recession economic planning is still ongoing, especially to be able to get out of recession. If if crude oil is 2$ per barrel, NNPC must operate and be optimistic that it will shoot up again. And even in recession will the country shut down? The country will still be running on the little NNPC can bring. So stop seasoning like a bad belle person

Thanks. But the officers currently being promoted/transfer are for Manager category, so how does that relates with the SS class applicants?

SS3, SS2 and SS1 for supervisory role. Manager role starts from M6.

Pls what is the SS classification for a supervisory role and that of a manager role at NNPC

The next items has a timeline of 31/03/2020 with the GGM, HR responsible for its execution. One of the action item is to "Implement Competency Based Deployment".

Remember the comments concerning "Internal realignment first before considering the EH list" made by Aremolomi and Loaded89.

EH are of about 3 different cadre, so what cadre are you people referring to as being having to be replaced by contract staff Anyway, contract staff are in many organizations and when a position is vacant, there is no direct conversion of contract staff to any position because there is no such agreement that contract staff is going to metamorphise into full staff at any point in time. The only way to enter any organisation is either as a trainee or through a structured recruitment as an experienced hire.

If the contract staff are for direct conversion, or if the coperation has an initial agreement with them as at the time of thier engagement, they would have treated them first before advertising for external candidates.

Also not all positions require a contract staff, take for instance, there is no contract staff for some certain positions within an organisation. For instance is there a contract staff as a superintendent contract staff or supervisor contract staff or as management contract staff who will now be supervising fully employed officers? It can't work that way...If anyone told me that their are senior contract staff supervising regular staff, then the person is already telling me there is going to be a contract GMD someday...What I know is possible for mid management and senior management cadre are consultants and not contract staff managing a cooperation. Note that contract staff everywhere are usually junior cadres and not contract staff in management positions...
