FBS: Don't you know how to read in between the lines? Do you realistically think we can last 2 seasons with our current squad? For the record: I said 3 and not 3 or more. Besides, I have not even suggested any player for us to buy. Aite my bad, of course I'm talking about short term here therefore THIS season, my stance still remains the teams quality and depth is sufficient to deliver trophy(s) at the end of the season, however I can understand the need to deploy a long term strategy, but what I oppose is some people's (not implying anyone specifically, just speaking generally) believe that the teams problem is down to lack of adequate and/or right players to play the diamond system. |

FBS: @Ibime, but we were scoring lots of goals (and kept clean sheets) even with the diamond formation, yes? How do you explain that? Your stance on buying 3 or more players as the solution to the teams crisis on the pitch, is highly contradictory, you clearly acknowledge the teams excellent performance from both ends of the pitch, just over a month ago with the SAME CROP OF PLAYERS, if i could recollect vividly, Aguero, Gourcuff et al were not in the Chelsea line up when we were decimating teams or were they? |

Kenny_G: so by implication, you would rather have a showpiece wife who offers nothing more than looks than a fat woman who can help build your life/home? strange choice considering the fact that fatness can be sorted out but a "foolish" woman who can help?? I suggest you take a comprehension lesson, what I am saying is a man would rather have a woman both looks and personality if he can have his way What sort of man would wanna wake up to an unattractive woman every morning for the rest of his life, what you need to understand his if your game is tight, you can mold an attractive girl with stinking personality into what you consider ideal given she is passionately in love with you, she will be willing to make the relationship work) however there is nothing you can do to turn a naturally ugly and fat woman into a damnsell. Bottomline there is hope for a man that dates a physically attractive woman with ugly personality given the right conditions |

That is all The stone cold truth is, Women are emotionally driven, given a guy has all/most of the attribute women seek in a man beside the look hence he is oozing with confidence, intelligent, successful, great sense of humor and so on, he WILL always bag attractive and quality chicks however the same can not be said of women, cos we men are highly motivated by looks, if you are ugly and fat, it wouldn't matter what attribute you are able to bring to the table (personality wise). |

It's a shame to see guys supporting mediocrity, maybe there is something I don't get here but what is physically attractive in a fat babe?
only ugly, broke a$$ or guys with low self esteem find fat girls attractive (I am sorry to generalise but if you have your
stuff together , you will can never settle for less) all that shitzo about preference and "beauty is in the eyes of beholder" is bull crap in
my opinion, all men want an attractive woman and when you see one , you will know, I am yet to see any man on this planet earth find someone like Halle
berry or Genevieve Nnaji physically unattractive. when guys think they do not deserve any better and lack options, they resort to dating fat girls.
What is more disheartening are girls that let them selves go fatty bum bum even at an early age, I can understand the argument for married women with kids
gaining weight that is only natural but what is the excuse of young girls who are not yet pregnant.
It is important for people men/women to stay in shape not only to appear more attractive to the opposite sex but also for health reasons which should be the
primary motivation for staying in shape in the first place. |

It will be very difficult to bring in quality that can quickly gel with Chelski's current mode of play and make a difference. The OAP are not performing and this is costing us relatively easy points, now if we buy younger WC players what have we got to lose? at worst, they take longer to adapt to the system hence bad perfromances and poor result which wouldn't matter because this OAP are not exactly producing the goods. debosky: As a bunch of OAPs, y'all were bound to have a slowdown at a period in the season. . .as long as that doesn't lead to losing the top spot I wouldn't be too worried. nateevs: @Jalether.
I am the last to have knee jerk reactions on here. I do not absolve Carllotti of any blame on the tactical side of things. His insistence on the diamond in every game, I cannot understand. However, we have a fundamental personnel that if not tackled now will lead to destruction . . age and pace of the team.
Be it a 4-3-3, 4-4-2 or 4-5-1 we have a pathetic personnel im midfield. And playing a 4-3-3 will not help Kalou put the ball in the net and not over the bar from 5 yards. Yo have to go back to about 6 matches away to find a Ballack shot on goal . . a 4-5-1 cannot change that. . neither can it help him running after a player and help the RB. .
A 4-3-3 cannot help Lampard stop kicking the freekick into the wall . . always! Neither can it stop him putting a corner kick straight into the palms of the oppo goalie. The last time we scored from a corner kick was against Wolves and Malouda took that corner. Before then we scored from a Lampard free kick against ManU 40 yards from their goal. Anyone could do that. When was the last time we scored from a free kick that Drogba did not take?
We've not scored from a through-pass to the attackers in along time. .Why because we don't have good passers of the ball in midfield. If we don't have a big striker like Drogba that can force his way and create things for himself, our midfield can't just create.
Bosingwa is prehaps the best crosser of the ball in wide areas. . . perhaps Zhirkov.
These are fundamental problems that are fast showing their faces. And it don't matter what formation you are playing they will come back to hunt you. . and the only way to solve those problems is to go out now and buy while we can. . If we don't, we won't be able to buy for 2 years. Simple.
Players always show best form when there's a new manager, or when the season begins. The true character and quality of a team starts to show mid-season. . and that's exactly where we are now. So all the flashy performances in the beginning will fade away . .
Bros believe or not. . . We have to buy. God bless you on the Lampard observation, dude is on the verge of competely losing it. I totally see where you are coming from but (a very big but) Carlotti, considering his managerial approach to footie as evident during his ac milan days, is not the type to buy worldclass players to replace players like Lampard, Deco, Ballack simply because of their reputation. We can all come here and wish for some spectacular signing in the transfer window but I tell you one thing if players like pirlo, Inzaghi,Seedorf Gattuso were not replaced by younger, fresher worldclass players during his tenure @ milan then do not expect anything different from him now. that is the sad reality, didn't you notice I never really supported carlotti from the start, there is no smoke without fire. if he buys young WC players to replace these guys then he would have proved me wrong and gain my respect, bookmark this page for future reference/evidence if at all carlotti buys any player in Jan, it will be motivated by the loss of key players to ANC rather than lack of right personnel in certain position on the pitch and I still think that is unlikely to happen |

nateevs: I am telling you Joe Cole is 28 and has been injured for the best part of 2 years. This is the best he can be. . nothing better. Joe in his prime could not touch Deco in his prime. . what is the chance he will get better. .? Joe is only marginally better than Deco now and it's just his pace. We need to move on. ManU dominated the world with Ronaldo, which player do we have that's half Ronaldo? None! We have to move beyond this abeg! We are a big team in many competitions, we shouldn't condone mediocrity.
Sturridge cameo today and Borini's on Wednesday confirms that only a mad man will play Kalou as our third striker. Like I said on Wednesday, if Borini is given the time Kalou has had, he'd miles ahead. Positional play, Zilch. . Decision making Zilch! . . Ship out!
Ballack . . We can't be serious offering him a new contract. In that same 82nd minute incident Ibime mentioned that Parker broke out, Ballack was closest to him when the attack started. He left Ballack like a Motorbike accelerates past a bicycle. He just kept jogging. If a player plays in the midfield and can't beat a player. . . then there's no midfield. Sharpness, decision-making, passing and shots-on-goal have just disappeared. Who can replace him at the moment. . ? no one!
In the summer, I talked about Xabi. . . Ibime laughed at me. . Mikel plays like a typical Nigerian. . No urgency. . "take am easy we go score" kinda attitude. That's no the demeanour of a modern day player. . He can't even shoot on goal even if his life depended on it. It's why I always prefer Essien in DM . . . Is it conicidental that we started becoming lethargic midfield ever since Essien stopped playing in DM. . . ?
If anyone thinks we should not buy in January . . I will be laughing my head away. We need a overhaul of the midfield. One player to play top of the diamond, one to play the right . . fast moving, quick-thinking midfielders with massive technical abilities, can dribble, shoot from distance and have an added skill like a dead ball speciality. . I am fkucing tired of seeing Lampard kick every free-kick into the wall and every corner into the hands of the goalie.
And then we need one more midfielder to act as a sub, with Matic and Kakuta as understudies.
Can we have players in the mould of Hazard, Giovinco, Dzagoev. . . These players are abound and are available at the right price. WE are Chelsea and should have the best midfielders in the world, individually and as a team. Carllotti is flipping Italian and knows damn well what a trequartista is. . that's what we need.
Move Essien to DM, sit Lamps down when we can. Play Zhirkov on the left of the diamond. We saw what he can do today.
And we would be bloody fine . . even with the diamond. However if we fail to buy in January. . . kiss the CL and PL goodbye. . Nateevs I agree with most of your post (esp Kalou and Joe), just 3 weeks ago, we were arguably the best team in the EPL, our form and performance was through the roof, the million dollar question then is what happened? remember it is this same Ballack that was winning tackles and dominating play in the mid field just 3 wks ago, I sense some knee jerk reactions from some people on here. all of a sudden, we are in big trouble and must buy players as soon as possible. I certainly agree with Ibime, our problem is CA inability to take a practical and flexible approach to each game. your tactics and formation should never be the same all year round, what worked against Liverpool may not be effective against West Ham. |
