Also I will advice clients too not to be too gullible when they are trying to get a good bargain. You want a full and correct measure of what you order for but you are not willing to pay the price. How would a client want a 30tons load of granite at ebute metta for 115k!!!!!.are you not 'directly' telling the supplier to cheat u? Forget about seeing the loading tickets that display 30 tons. Fake Loading tickets are gotten for a token(500 naira or 1k max).
Always patronise companies with RECOGNIZED presence to save cost.

I knew it!!!! When Tony was 'forced' out of UBA by the CBN regulation back the, I said to a colleague that he will be breaking new ground because he is resourceful and a massive risk taker. I've had the opportunity to meet him twice and I learned a lot from him. No wonder china biggest bank partnered with UBA when they wanted to enter Nigeria market( for easy financing of big chinese companies operating here)

Of all the items delivered to site, I'm so astonished to see the quantity and quality of the granite supplied to the site. I can say it that I've never seen such quantity in my years of building. It's so full than I can ever imagine.

If your engineer friend is a proven structural engineer with onsite experience in the use of blocks for decking, then go for it.it is the best as it exerts less load on ur foundation.

I saw this for the first time at a client site where we went to deliver granite around redeem( lagos-ibadan express road). Although the engineer(s) were lebanese but block was used. But if you are not sure of your engineer-friend competence, abeg, go for normal decking you are used to. My 1 cent

helpee: tnks.we are now fully ready for d decking. One modification to the plan though is that d duplex for d resident doctor is now 3bedroom. The total spending till date is 1686780 that is one million six hundrend and eigthy six thousand seven hundrend and eighty naira. The carpenter will start form work for d decking on thurs but i will post d different quotations i got for ur perusal

dudubody: is 100,000 naira ok or too much for bricklayer labour... foundation is completed,setting of blocks to window level of a (4)3bedroom(2up, 2down)all en suit. location is ikorodu. he has quoted 100,000 for setting the blocks to window level on the ground floor

It is not too much considering it is 4 flats. Well, you can bargain it down to 70k since 100k was his quotation.

@Missktinz: competent builder abounds here on Nl. just make sure you post daily updates with the builder on this thread, so that we can share ideas and learn together accordingly and if need be, chip in constructive critcism where it is needed.

@ Segcy.moor: there are some areas in iyana ipaja where soil test might be needed. i know this because there are some sites we have difficulty accessing with our trucks at iyana ipaja and in one case, we got stuck in the sand and had to wait for another truck to pull us out. so please do not write off soil test yet until you visit the site physically

I don't know the fuss about what happened. This thread has serve as an eye opener for builders and we building materials suppliers that frequent here, that there are actually folks waiting for us to slip and use that opportunity to throw mud at us.
