AdvertsCheck Out My Funky Birthday and tell me what you think... by jamah(op): 3:43pm On Jun 16, 2008
My funky birthday (MFB) is a concept developed by CNE Concepts; it is built around achieving memorable birthdays for its targeted audience. Basically it starts with the youths that is MFB youths (18-40), and later to commence with MFB teens (ages 10-17), and MFB adults (41-60). Its initial theme or target is making people over from the common class to the celebrity class in an overnight manner, which would be edited into a 30minutes program on TV.

Goals and Objectives:
Give youths their most memorable birthday experience ever.
Create a medium for brands that are targeted at this group.
Increase patronage of goods and services for our intended partners.

This is achieved by a wide spectrum of participators, who provide a host of goods and services to ensure a maximized effect. Winners will be picked through a draw and we will be giving them treats such as:
Accommodation with Fitness and Spa facilities
Shopping vouchers

Exclusive cocktail party with favorite celebrities and top executives
And, a mega after party.

Also runner-ups will be given-
Customized gears,
Access to both parties,
Photo shoot with guest celebrity,
Media hype and lots more.

HOW TO ENTER FOR DRAWS

Simply purchase our funky scratch cards at any of our listed sales center, register online with your pin to enter for a draw that holds every month. Winners will be picked from these draws monthly, and contacted. Winners will have to get to our office at least a day before the scheduled day for the party, so we can lodge them in our funky home. This is to avoid any delay that may occur because of traffic or other unforeseen circumstance.

On the d-day, winners will be picked in the early hours of the morning to a saloon for beauty makeover of any kind by a classy ride, from where he/she proceeds to a designated boutique/ fashion house to shop with the voucher provided. This shopping spree enables winners to pick to their taste what they will love to put on for their cocktail party.

Also winners are scheduled to rest at least 1hour before the cocktail at the funky house provided. At the cocktail, winners will be hosting his/her selected celebrities and top executives. FamilyRe: The Talent Of Your Child by jamah(m): 12:53am On May 28, 2008
Yeah, you are right about the fact that parents are ignorant. That's the truth. Even if the parent expose their kids to various experiences and the kids take intrest in the one that is least appealing to their parents, they get no or less encouragement. Parent should just let their kids be and should not dictate for them what they should be. We are all aware of this saying.

kingdong:
Loaded or whatever yu call yur sorryarse self, yu sure are loaded, loaded with shit, slime, grime, infact all the works that shit factory has to offer.

All we want to know is how the husband going out thing plays out in different cultures, in this case, majorly naija, since na naija forum. Instead angel reloaded keeps loading us the shitworks. damned ass. makes the whole thing tiring. zero for value added.
Thanks jare kingdong for helping me BLAST D-reloaded. Ahn Aaaaahn! i was wondering if there was something he knew about Leilah that i didnt.

Uche2nna:
Leilah no-one hates You. At least, I don't. But hey, you too must agree that your story is gradually attaining legendary and folklore status on Nairaland. When You first came out with your marriage to one Nigerian, You really drew my sympathy. But as time went on ,. that gradually waned away. Cos it seems to me that You ACTUALLY DONT WANNA DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. Thats ok by me as long as You don't go around singing it all around Nairaland threads. I really can't fathom how a man can treat You so bad and You endure it only to come to a public forum to cry wolf.

You have always blamed your travails as a cultural thing ; Many ladies on Nairaland have told You that it is not true. your man is just a beast (sorry) but You seem to like your theory about culture better. It is far from our culture to have anal sex, matter of fact, that is more of an European thing than an African thing.
Maybe I should ask if violence in marriage is a cultural thing for you. Cos it seems You are enjoying the violence that the guy is dishing out.

Now You come out with going to parties/clubs without the wife? Not suprisingly, You want to attribute that to culture too (I wonder how much You know about this culture of ours undecided) . How can unfaithfulness be a cultural thing? angry
Okaaaaaay, i get it. So this is Leilah's past post record on nairaland that warranted all that hatred. Anyways. All i have to say is that i agree with Xiomarra's commentssss pertaining to this issue. As long as the man knows what he is doing, keeping his home peaceful and happy. Then there is noooooo need to worry! SHIKENA!

FoodRe: What Is The Best Way To Make Pancakes? by jamah(m): 10:13pm On May 25, 2008
bokoto:
125g sifted plain flour
1 beaten egg
300ml milk
Oil for frying

1. In a large bowl sift the flour in and make a small well in the middle. Add the beaten egg into this well then, whilst constantly sirring, slowly start adding half the milk. Add the rest of the milk and beat thoroughly, until the mixture is smooth.

2. Heat a small frying pan and add a small amount of oil. Pour a small amount of your pancake mixture into the pan, tilting the pan to make sure the mixtre covers the bottom.

3. Cook for around 1-2 minutes, or until bubbles start appearing and the underside turns golden. Loosen the edges of the pancake with a spatula, then flip it over and cook the other side for another 1-2 minutes, or until it turns golden.

** also use same mix to make yorkshire puddings!
Please how would that taste with no suger and nutmeg or any nice flavor. Ah! make it more appetizing and simply irresistable!!!

FamilyKids’ Embarassing Questions by jamah(op): 8:55pm On May 25, 2008
Sometimes, we adults think we know all but when our kids challenge us with some mind blowing questions, what do we sayhuh Really, what are the embarrassing questions your son, daughter, niece or nephew has ever asked you? Just last week, I went to pick my 5 years old niece from school and on our way to the gate alongside other mommies and daddies taking their kids home, she told me: "I saw a woman with a BIIIIIIIG breast! What is inside? shocked" Gosh!!! I had to look around first to be sure passers- by did'nt hear that. But before i could give an answer, she started guessing: "Milk and blood mixed together?" I said no. Fat and milk. Immediately it became a debate as she argued it was milk and blood that was there. It became so emarrasing and disgusting that i just kept my mouth shut. lipsrsealed
There was just another time she was asking her VERY BRILLIANT AND ENLIGHTENED DAD what the eye lashes were for. I saw him thrown off balance for a few seconds and you wouldnt believe it, he couldnt give her a reasonable answer. tongue We just laughed over it as he realized he never thought of that for one day. I later told her it was there to protect the eyes from dirt and dust!
You just wonder how they think up things, Lets hear more please! cheesy cheesy
FamilyRe: Ever Lost Someone As Dear As Family? Come Light A Candle For Them Here by jamah(m): 12:17am On May 25, 2008
I light a beautiful candle with an everlasting flame for my dearest mom: Lady Francesca! It still feels so strange that you are no more with us like you used to. But of course, you are very much in a better place than this world of pain and hopelessness. I miss you dearly. God knows we all do and love you still and more. embarassed sad

I also light a candle for my cousin: Wole. It feels painful that you spent such a short time on earth. I wish there was more we could do for you while you were still with us. May your soul rest in God's bossom.

For my aunty that was just buried last week: Mrs Adeite. I reminice on the good old days when everything was fine, your looks and your gentle, loving kindness and i do nothing but smiiiile. May your soul rest in peace too.

I light a candle for aaaaall the rest of my loved ones and family friends who have passed on to eternal glory. May God's eternal light shine upon you all and your souls - through the mercy of God- rest in peace. AMEN!
FamilyRe: The Talent Of Your Child by jamah(m): 11:34pm On May 24, 2008
WOW Arielle!!! That was a beautiful one there. Are you just more than a mom? Honestly speaking, I have various talents and although im not married with children, i want to share my experience. When i was a child, i loooooooved to read stories - Ladybirds, Enid Blytons and the rest of them - thus, this made me develop the interest of writting my very own stories from my brain. i would rip middle pages of exercise books out and fold into two, staple, write, draw and colour. Then i loved to act in front of this very tall mirror in my dad's room and imagine story lines of my own - i enjoyed dressing up in costumes. I made paper dolls consisting of father, mother, children, extended family members and friends with paper furnitures, colorful painted paper cloths and cars made of card board papers for them. Their home was one of my dad's long empty drawers. I also loooooved to initiate new arrangements and decorate the house because i loved to see changes. I was very, very good at creating stuffs with materials i could find around me - All these started when i was 5 or 6 years old. All of a sudden, i lost it all, the interest for all that. The thing was that i grew up in the wrong environment where all my talents and interest were'nt encouraged and asides from the fact that my parents were very much aware of all i possessed in me, encouraging me with just words of the mouth, they never went all the way in bringing out the best in me.
When i finished my secondary education, i discovered i had a great love for music. Singing, writting songs, composing them and visualizing myself as a super star singer cum actor and writter and others now became all i ever did and i was able to write two beautiful novels that are yet to be published.
I look back at the years when i was young and very active, less involved in things that took my time and all that - yet although im still very much indebted to my parent for all they have done for me and are still doing - i kind of blame them that i am not what i ought to be with aaaaaaall that talent embedded in me - singing, acting, writting, interior decorating, creative arts, drawing, etc. I compare myself with achievers who have made it and are making it  from childhood knowing very well that if i was in the extremely enlightened family, in the right environment where i could easily go for training and with greater like minds, i would be far more than where i am right now and even exposed to more skills.
Parents have a great deal of work to do to avoid a circumstance like mine and many others out there for their children. A circumstance of wishful thinking and blame.
FamilyCan Family Feuds Come To An End? by jamah(op): 9:09pm On May 24, 2008
There are many of us here who look back at the way our relationship was with our extended family members then and now and we feel it was very good before. What has caused these family feuds that seem irreconcilable? Do you think it can come to an end? Is it necessary it does? What are your opinions. I believe we can change things.
