imohregi:

Nairalanders, i just need your candid opinion please, i'm so depressed.

Don't worry about it. I know you will be very depressed. All I will say is don't leave your boss, continue to be loyal and he will reward you in the nearest future. No matter how loyal you are BLOOD will always be thicker than WATER. He will always choose his brother over you even if you save his life. Don't assume he stitched you up just like that it might be family pressure that made him put his brother instead of you. Your time will come, if you believe in God then you will know that the position wasn't yours or simply not yet your time.
Shake yourself up and continue. Once things have died down a bit you can share your disappointment with your boss but make sure you pick a good time. Don't dwell on the disappointment, it will achieve nothing. Don't hold any grudges against your boss (he has his reasons). Put on a happy face go to work and wait for your time ( I know its hard, but you can do it). Good luck man.

sassie:

It's a big goal, and for most people there are only four options to make it happen.

You can:
1. inherit money
2. win money
3. save money or
4. earn money.

I can't write it all here, get the full gist in the article.

http://www.articleassets.com/Article/How-to-Be-a-Millionaire/28944

Good luck.

You forgot one. MAKE MONEY which is what business people and investors do. Its only employees that earns money. Well you can be a millionaire by being a super employee e.g CEO, MD, Investment banker, saleman and some other top profession.

'Funke love, i am going clubbing' is totally different from ''Funke dear, i am off to a meeting'.

The former, he dares not, the latter, no problem at all but hell will be let loose if i find out that the so called ''meeting'' is actually at a night club.

Like i said before, i trust my partner and we both know what each other is capable of doing.

Read between the lines. what I was trying to say is that he will lie to you if he believes you don't trust him enough to go out with the boys. If you nag, if you are insecure etc. A cheater and an irresponsible person will always be that regardless of clubbing or not. If he is a good player believe me you will never find out if he was lying or not. How many men do we hear have a whole family elsewhere after their death. Freedom, trust and communication is better than a marriage full of dictatorship, insecurity and secracy.

Leilah:

Thats great! cool! thanks for the imput. Believe it or not its actually NOT about me its about someone form my husbands family and yeah he goes missing for days. Ok well that explains that.

Missing in action husband trust me it is not about the clubbing. There is more to it than she is telling you guys. No responsible man will leave his home for days without a good reason and without his wife knowing.
new arriva:

IT IS NOT RIGHT FOR HIM TO GO AS FAR AS HE IS MARRIED NOT EVEN WITH ME,THE LEAST HE CAN ATTEND IS A DINNER,THANK GOD,I GOT A GOOD BOYFY
THAT IS VERY RESPONSIBLE.

A lots of Nigerians have the wrong idea. Going to club does not make you irresponsible or responsible. What you do there define you. Incase most of you don't know club has classses.
funkybaby:

Lmao! I will do all four and even worse.

Seriously, he can't try it. Nah, i married a gentleman not a dog.

He calls me to say, ''Funke love, i wont be coming home this weekend, i am going clubbing''. Nah. He dare not. He can't try it. Nahhhh, he can't.

He will tell you that he is off to a business meeting in Abuja or somewhere. Won't you believe him.

Family / Re: Husband In Nite Clubs/discos by Jamco45: 1:02pm On May 28, 2008
I am married. I go out with my wife sometimes and I also go out with the boys most times. She also goes out with the girls when she wants to. There is nothing wrong with understanding each other and giving yourself space. You are with your partner most times at home sometimes you just need a little space. I suppose most people here are single hence their view. I have never been tempted while out. I am very free with my wife and confident enough to tell her where I am and leave my phone on. Not that she doesn't care but she will not call to disturb me on a night out and I won't disturb her either, the only time she will call is if I am not home when I say I would be. If you do your job well as a man infact she will beg you to go out sometimes.

If you don't give you husband or boyfriend the freedom guess what will happen? Honey I am working late, honey I have a corporate meeting late at night, honey we have to close that deal with our clients how ever long it takes, honey I can't pick up your phone calls I will be in a meeting all day, honey I am going away for a day or two for a business conference.

If this happens what will you do? Will you get paranoid and accuse your husband of lying or will you be a nuisance to yourself and start checking up on him at work or will you simply divorce your husband.

The trust my wife has in me is enough to keep me fired up and faithful and also I have the most beautiful woman in the world with a fantastic behaviour and for me I don't think I can jeopardise that or meet anyone better.

If you decide not to allow him and he still goes out, what will you do? Nag? Divorce (how many husband can you divorce) what will you do. The only time you need to get worried is if your husband stop doing his homely duties and go out a lot without telling you and generally starts disrespecting you.

So please you guys should CHILLAX and enjoy your union with your partner.

outlaws:

cool

Ebay: They sent me email to let me know that I have been banned from using their service. Some bitch snitcher reported that I was selling
copyrighted product on their site. Ebay is definitely a bitch.

Google: When it came time for google to pay me for the adsense revenue that I have generated, they sent me an email. You have been banned. You are no longer allowed to promote google ads. What's really going on. This bitch company didn't do anything when I was clicking on my own ads. once is time for pay, they don't want to pay me. Before I thought google was a good company, now I now is a bitch company. I may have to start yahooing instead of googling. Google is a bitch.

You are not allowed to sell copyrighted products and you are not allowed to click on your own adverts. Its clearly states that on their agreement with you (terms and condition). Most of these sites deal with millions of fraudulent people on a daily bases, their systems are automated and if you breech the agreement you will be banned. You can start again advertise your site on forums and let people click on it for you. You can never make money by complaining just get on with it and start over. As for ebay try to look for something that is not copyrighted there are lots of ebooks or products you can sell. As for yahoo yahoo don't bother because it can never make you happy, the money you make will only be temporary and eventually you will be caught. I am sure you only said that out of anger. So Bro go back to the drawing board. good luck

NB: Trust me you can make lots of money on google if you do it right and ebay.
Politics / Re: Over-celebrate, But Under-achieve by Jamco45: 12:20am On May 15, 2008
Chei honest truth. We need to help ourselves and start changing our way of thinking. I had an argument with my cousins recently when we calculated what they spent on their father's 20TH death anniversary about 5 millers and two of the siblings are unemployed and the remaining five are not particularly rich anyway. As individual we need to increase our physical and mental discipline. Another thing about most of us is that no body want to learn from others everyone believe they know it all and I see that a lot on this forum. As for me i have started changing gradually pls help yourself to.

Very good decision. Some people just block the roads regardless of how busy the road is, quite annoying really.

Its not all bad, you can still have parties in your compound, hall or field.

Fashola next thing is to ban noise pollution please especially in the mornings and nights.

Constituency Allowance is a fund given to Representatives to embark on community development projects in their community, eg, Siting Boreholes, Furnshimg Schools and Awarding Schoolarships. Some Lawmakers make good use of this and some squander it. The power of Questioning this allowance lies in the hands of the constituents themselves. If my Representative is being given N20 Million for Constituency allowance and he does not make judicious use of it, it is my duty to query him to render his account of service, not just to stay on Nairaland and criticise.
My Representative in the National Assembly offers Schoolarship to 40 Undergraduates and 10 postgraduate students. Nigerians get englightened abou your role as citizens, if you don't play your role by making your rep accountable, don't come here and display ignorance.

Thanks for the info, it makes sense.

Men that finds themselves in that situation should practise "SELECTIVE HEARING" I know its hard but you can do it. No woman deserves to be hit no matter what she says even if she abuse your mother. You can deal with her without hitting.

Religion / Re: Must He Marry The Girl He Impregnated? by Jamco45: 10:52am On May 12, 2008
I don't think it will be fair on the woman if he marries her, he doesn't love her. It could promote disrespect in the relationship which will later develop to adultry and finally a devorce or second wife. I also don't think its fair on the child if his/her parents don't love each other.
But if you friend is strong enough spiritually and mentally he can make it work and the love will grow over time.

There is wide spread ignorance of the genuine rights of the people and the benefits good and uncorrupt governance can bring. There is also ignorance on what is seen as corruption and its harm on everyone and the country as a whole. Although fair enough there are a lot who are corrupt and know it and know its implications, but what about all those rural areas that don't even have roads and still vote. Those places and even some cities that corrupt people can still go and the people will hold festival to welcome thieves. I know it sounds trivial but this is part of the cause. Ignorance on what is right and benefitial for the country. Also, when the people stop behaving like Esau and stop selling their birth rights for a plate of rice when election day comes then you can now tell me people are serious. One solution to this people, one solution tha we can all partake in? Educate people especially in rural areas. It could be anything from speaking to people in rural areas or some family members or going to schools or writing insightful articles which can be read by students and stir up debates. I know it sounds condescending but we all know what corruption is doing to the country and that we don't really have a democracy. If we all get more active politically for the sake of the nation then we can change things. People always complain about feeling helpless and this is my suggestion. Also, the house of reps is meant to be the voice of the people. Find out who the rep ifrom your area or state is. Engage them if you can, anyone, even local government chairmen, anyone. And ask them what plans they have for the state. Why have certain bills in the house not been passed yet. These are all things that won't cost an arm and a leg but can still make a difference.

I totally agree with you.

There are only two ways by which countries change their fate

* A radical government with different views from its predeccesors. Which is what I am praying for.

* A revolution carried out by the citizens. Which is HIGHLY UNLIKELY in Nigeria.

A radical government is also unlikely (not impossible). Buhari tried it during his tenure in the 80s. So if the above two cannot be achieve in the nearest future then what can we do? If nothing them we are all stuffed and this corruotion will just continue.

Uche2nna:

That would not help. In the long run, the effect would catastrophic.  We really don't need to sink to low levels to get back at these monsters and more importantly shooting them would not actually recover the money.

All it takes is one honest government. A Government that would bring all these guys to book. Right now , the last admin is being probed but we have heard those kind of story lines. Problem with these probes is that at the end of the day no one is actually prosecuted. No one is meant to cough back all the lootings. We hear talk, talk and no ACTION.

Yep. Talk talk and no action exactly. So what can a new government do? When 99% of the people they will be working with are corrupt. I have never met a graduate that wants to be a civil servant (apart from top political jobs), police man, teacher, lecturer they only do this jobs after trying everything else.

I really don't think the frustration at the right people and the situation has reached a national level because it is hard to imagine that the national assembly and government houses would not have been mobbed by now and people like Odilli, Ibori, Obasanjo and the rest of their kind who EFCC (a dead agency) has failed to do anything about, drawn out to the street and flogged old fashioned african style before being paraded on the street like the robbers they are for being a menace to the country.

Good idea but we both know it will never happen. Personally i will love to see them flogged and imprisoned but we know it will not happen so why not think of a realistic way forward. Realistic.
