Afroguee: Good day @crushsugar. Please i need your advise.
Im currently applying to nursing schools in nigeria as im 26 and dont want to waste 5 years in a university (which can be extremely difficult to get into) . My aunt in the u.k is also a nurse and is willing to sponsor my school here in hopes that i would go and meet her after.
1. How much work experience do i need before applyimg for a job in the u.k?
2. Will my RN certificate be enough?
I guess im just really scared that the whole u.k system might change when im done and i will be stuck here earning peanuts. Do you advise i go through with it?
Thanks. 1. you dont need any work experience to work in the UK as a nurse it was 1 year b4 but now with zero experiance. 2. surely your RN certificate is enough to get a job as a nurse in the UK |

Good morning nurses, I'm almost rounding up with my RN program at School Of Nursing, UBTH, after which I intend going to UK to do my 1yr Top-up BscN program. So here's my question. I hope I won't have issues relocating to Canada to work using the Express Entry or PNP route. I don't know how true it is that Canada don't accept UK 1yr top up BscN degree.... Thanks which school u intend going please |

fatima04: 1. Yes by following the registration steps on NMC UK website https://www.nmc.org.uk/registration/joining-the-register/register-nurse-midwife/trained-outside-the-eueea/new-application/.
2. If you follow the processes and get your Tier 2 visa then you can study on it though I doubt you will be able to complete it in a year because you are working full time.
3. If you choose the student route, you have to still follow the registration steps above before you can practise and afterwards switch to Tier 2 (work visa), because the Tier 4 visa wont allow you to work full time during school period.
My advise is follow the registration process, A. pass IELTS and CBT; B. Start searching for jobs (you can DIY or get a FREE agent to help) C. Do all the required documentation D. Once you get a job offer apply for Tier 2 E. Pass OSCE (2nd stage exam in the UK)
After that you can start searching for schools to study and some may charge you home student fees and not international fees. The nurses here can guide you better. Thank you so much I appreciate |

Yes you can, if you're robot and get paid for both (both shifts must not be done within the NHS)........ Alright thank you so much. |

crushsugar: The major thing that will cost money is rent. For places I know of it can cost you between 400-800 pounds for an apartment a month depending on the area. But living in a shared apartment can cut down your bills by almost half. Food is not a burden. 100 pounds can feed you in a month and that is if you sabi eat wella. Cloths are affordable according to what you have. Bottom line is live within your means. With self discipline you can still have enough savings. Thank you so much I really appreciate thank you |

sgtponzihater1: Depends on what you want, and where ur passion lies. Going for a one yr top up in UK, and proceeding with a nursing career there is a great choice. The UK is in extreme demand for Nurses, and they have become extremely flexible in accepting nurses. So this are the best times to follow that path if it interests you.
If you however want to study MBBS in Russia, make sure you choose a school that's accepted globally, and know Medicine is quite a long, tough, excruciating and turbulent walk, that takes only real passion to survive, and alot of long night of wondering if you are still on the right path, and the demands are not getting any easier. There is also high demand for Doctors in the UK and world over at this point, however no one know what the coming decade hold and how rigorous their demands would be.
In all it's all about you and ur passion, and not doing a course because you were pressured to. Cheers Thank you so much I really appreciate |
