mu2sa2: One-sided propaganda. People fleeing from violence are boko haram, ok let's hear their own defence. You impose violence on a whole city and say people should not flee.Absurd. Let foo.ls celebrate. Today it's maiduguri, 2morrow they will use the "experience" on niger delta, when Asari and other bandits start their own. Maybe then those who now must talk virgins with every foul breath will perhaps be talking non-virgins.No sir. Yesterday, it was Biafra. Today it's Borno and neighbours. What goes around comes around. |

Senate urges FG to grant Achebe state burial 0 May 16, 2013 | 12:38 am Achebe: Exit of a literary giant By HENRY UMORU & JOSEPH ERUNKE ABUJA — THE Senate yesterday urged the Federal Government to grant the late novelist, Professor Chinua Achebe, a state burial and name a major federal highway or street in Abuja after him. It also urged the government to name a national monument after him to portray the fact that Nigeria, as a country, and Nigerians appreciated his positive contributions to the country and world through his literary works. As part of honour for the literary giant, the Senate announced a high-powered delegation, led by Senate Leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba, to commiserate with the family, people and government of Anambra State on the demise of Professor Achebe, as a minute silence was observed for him. Resolutions of the Senate came after deliberations on the death of the literary icon, on a motion, titled “Death of Professor Chinualumogu Albert Achebe”, sponsored by Senator Chris Ngige, ACN, Anambra Central, and other senators, during yesterday’s plenary. In the motion, read by the lead sponsor, Senator Ngige, the Senate said it was saddened by the death of Professor Achebe whose “glorious exit occurred on Thursday, March 21, 2013, in Massachusetts, USA, after a brief illness at the age of 82 years.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/05/senate-urges-fg-to-grant-achebe-state-burial/ |

gerald28: Please guys, I am having a debate with friends, I am telling them that Emeka offor is the richest igbo man, but they said no..that it is Arthur eze....yes I Arthur eze shares one billion naira each time he comes back from London, but that doesn't mean he is richer...please any person that knows these men well should help me out.Emeka Offor is a small boy where Arthur Eze is. Arthur Eze belongs to another realm. He is a godfather and a kingmaker himself. Eze n'Ukpo Dunukofia. When the likes of Emeka Offor were running around naked, Arthur 1000 was already dealing with Empires. When Emeka Offor was driving truck for Julius Berger, Eze n'Ukpo was dealing with governments. When Emeka Offor was carrying Ibrahim Abacha's suitcase, Arthur Eze was already lifting oil. He is not nicknamed Arthur 1000 for nothing. When he sneezes, Emeka catches cold. Don't mess with Eze n'Ukpo. He is a government himself. |
jude2011: Author eze i a big disgrace to the igbo people. Imagine him giving 1.8 billion. How many people in his village have access to quality healthcare, good public school and pipe borne water. How many widows is he helping and how many children of the less privilege has he granted scholarship . This man is a greedy F00l . Kudos to sir emeka offor for giving the youths scholarship and always donating to educational institution.Dude if you do not know who Arthur Eze is, keep your mouth shut. Do you think he's called Arthur 1000 for nothing? If you are Igbo, ask elders in your community who Arthur 1000 is and why he's called Arthur 1000. How can you compare Sir E. (Emeka Offor) to Eze n'Ukpo in terms of philanthropy. |
