Glimpsetv: U.S.-Based Nigerian Man Cries for Help as He Faces 20 Years to Life in Prison Over $200K Pickup in 2018
A Nigerian man based in the United States has made an emotional appeal for help, revealing that he could face 20 years to life in a U.S. prison for acting as a middleman in a $200,000 transaction that took place in 2018.
According to him, he was minding his own business when a friend contacted him, requesting his help to receive $200,000 from someone on his behalf. The friend, known to be a "baller" (a slang term for someone who spends lavishly), told him that he could keep $50,000 from the amount and send the remaining balance after receiving it. Tempted by the offer and seeing it as an opportunity to solve many of his financial problems at the time, he agreed.
He stated that the incident happened in 2018, but to his utter shock, his lawyer contacted him last night and asked him to come to the office urgently. The lawyer disclosed that the FBI had issued a warrant for his arrest, revealing that the woman who was allegedly scammed out of the money had committed suicide.
The man explained that he has since lost contact with the friend who involved him in the deal. He has made several attempts to reach him, but the number is no longer reachable, and there is no other way to get in touch. As it stands, he is the only person authorities have been able to trace the money to—because shortly after the woman transferred the funds, she took her own life.
He lamented that despite living in the U.S. for years, he hasn’t achieved anything significant. He hasn’t built a house or even bought a car, and now he has to face the shame of telling his mother that he’s going to prison in a foreign land for a crime he claims he neither committed nor fully understood.
The video of his emotional outburst has gone viral and sparked mixed reactions online. Please watch the trending video and share your thoughts in the comments.
salem1996: Some top men seems to be defending this girl from the backroom team. Otherwise, she had confessed severally that she did it. Monies were traced to her account I think, his ATMs were found with her also I think so why all these defence that don't seems to add up?
If it were a male against a female, he'll have been given 70yrs in prison without food, air and water even before he reaches the court for first hearing.
Some top shots within the law enforcement and correctional system are already fúcking her....mark my words she will walk

Glimpsetv: In a trending video, a Nigerian banker has opened up about his frustrations with working in the banking sector.
The man revealed that he has been employed in a commercial bank for 16 years, yet has nothing tangible to show for all his years of service.
Expressing his disappointment, he said: “I’m not too happy because it feels like I’ve been used for the past 16 years. I’ve been doing my work diligently — look at the time I’m leaving for work now, as usual. It’s as if I’ve been used all these years and there's nothing to show for it.”
He went on to advise parents whose children may be considering a career in commercial banking to think carefully, stressing that working in Nigerian commercial banks is not for the faint-hearted, especially for junior staff. “They will suck you like an orange — suck you dry and then throw you away,” he lamented.
While acknowledging that some people are thriving in the commercial banking sector, he claimed that such individuals often have powerful connections. “It’s those who know the right people that are making it big,” he added.
In an attempt to console himself, he expressed hope for a better future. “But I know that as today marks my sixteenth year in the bank, God will show me favor — I’m confident of that,” he declared.
He concluded by saying that if anyone could help him secure a new job, he would gladly leave the banking industry, emphasizing that he’s not ready to die working in a commercial bank.
In a very funny twist, while trying to round off his speech, something amusing happened. Being the early hours of the morning, as he walked along the road, chickens nearby began making their usual morning noises, interrupting his recording. In a hilarious moment, he commanded the chickens to stop making noise, speaking in Yoruba dialect.
His lamentation has since drawn mixed reactions across various social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and X (formerly known as Twitter).

blacksam01: Bro, believe me, aggressive savings of most disposable income is not good for the economy... U may want to think of loans... Have u though about ppl not coming for loans cuz they fear business risk..? Do u realize dt even if u aquire the loans and use it to invest, without vibrant demand, u still will pay interest in a redundant investment..?
See, have u ever wondered why the US market is so powerful..? It's only because Americans re the world's biggest spenders... Most don't have savings.. they trust their labour u ions to protect their jobs or even find another in a short time.. they live the live of now now.. making the the biggest market in the world...
Bro, if ur economy embraces savings, u are finished....
dederocs: In economics, and wealth creation and distribution, the accumulation of bank savings deposits, money market instruments, stocks, bonds, equities are how funds are accumulated and redistributed to create wealth.
Banks can only accumulate savings when people have enough disposal income, banks can only accumulate when Nigerians can buy, demand and patronise businesses and services, who in turn take their returns/revenue to the bank.
We can see here that the people, the masses being able to spend and save is the key to economic growth and buoyancy... people can demand and save when they don't have to spend all their income/inflows on food, shelter and transportation...this enables them to have extra (disposal income), which they can save, use to demand for other goods and services, and this is how and economy mobilises funds and value.
They don't want the people to be 'economically buoyant'
They want them hungry and desperate so that they are easy to control

IKORODU, LAGOS STATE – In a major boost to Nigeria’s anti-smuggling operations, the Maritime Component of Operation AWATSE, under the command of Commodore Paul Ponfa Nimmyel, has successfully intercepted 1,306 bags of smuggled foreign parboiled rice in the Majidun Community of Ikorodu West Local Government Area, Lagos State.
This landmark operation was carried out by officers of the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) BEECROFT on Saturday, April 12, during a routine anti-smuggling and maritime security patrol within their designated Area of Operations.
Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, Commodore Nimmyel, who also serves as the Maritime Component Commander for South-West Operation AWATSE, revealed that the contraband was seized after smugglers attempted to breach a naval checkpoint.
The naval personnel executed the operation with exceptional professionalism and tactical restraint, ensuring that no casualties were recorded during the intervention.
The 1,306 bags of foreign parboiled rice, which were concealed and transported in breach of Nigeria’s importation laws, were handed over to the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Western Marine Command in Apapa, for further investigation and legal action. The handover aligns with the Harmonized Standard Procedures on Arrest, Detention and Prosecution.
Operation AWATSE, a multi-agency security initiative, continues to play a pivotal role in border protection, anti-smuggling enforcement, and maritime surveillance in the South-Western region of Nigeria.
This latest seizure not only reaffirms the Nigerian Navy’s zero-tolerance stance on economic sabotage but also reinforces the Federal Government’s commitment to protecting Nigeria’s borders from illicit trade that undermines local agricultural production and national food security.
