Embarrass you say I laugh in Spanish. You truly think Tinubu doesn’t know these guys?? If someone embarrasses me, I will embarrass them back by publishing their names. Let Nigerians know who they are. These guys and their sponsors aren’t ghosts. But guess what?? He won’t. Because they are all complicit. All of them. So go ahead and keep making excuses for someone who doesn’t give a hoot about you and your posterity. quote author=Thundafireseun post=138949197] I was born and bread and buttered in Jos … I love Jos people passionately and I will never wish evil on anyone…. 📖 Where does “abstain from blood” come from? The clearest place is: 📖 Acts 15:28–29 (NIV) “It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to burden you with anything beyond the following requirements: You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality…” This instruction was given by the early church leaders, including Peter the Apostle and James the Just. What did “blood” mean in their time? To understand this, we must go back to earlier Scripture: Leviticus 17:10–11 (NIV) “I will set my face against any Israelite… who eats blood. For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement…” 📖 Genesis 9:4 (NIV) “But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it.” 🌍 Historical Context (Very Important) In Bible times: • People drank or ate blood as part of pagan rituals • Animals were sometimes killed without draining blood (strangled meat) • Blood was seen as sacred because it represented life So the command to “abstain from blood” meant: Do not consume blood as food or in ritual practices So… is it talking about blood transfusion? No—not directly. Why? • Blood transfusion as a medical practice did not exist in Bible times • The discussion in Acts 15 is about: • Food • Idolatry • Cultural practices between Jews and Gentiles It’s not addressing medical procedures. Why the instruction was given The early church was trying to solve a major issue: • Jewish believers had strict laws about blood • Gentile believers did not So this instruction helped: • Maintain unity • Avoid offending Jewish Christians • Keep believers away from pagan practices How do Christians understand it today? There are different views: 1. Most Christians believe: • The command refers to eating blood, not medical use • A blood transfusion is about saving life, not consuming blood This aligns with the principle that: 📖 Mark 2:27 (NIV) “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.” Meaning: God’s laws are not meant to destroy life, but to preserve it. 2. Some groups (like Jehovah’s Witnesses) believe: • Any use of blood, including transfusion, should be avoided They take a stricter interpretation. A deeper principle to hold The Bible consistently teaches: • Blood represents life • Life is sacred • God values the preservation of life So the question becomes: 👉 Is the action dishonoring life—or preserving it? 💡 Final clarity • “Abstain from blood” in Scripture = do not eat or misuse blood in a ritual sense • It was not originally about medical transfusions • The modern application depends on how one interprets biblical principles MaxInDHouse: |
I totally get your thought. However this is about an individual’s wiring or mindset. I’m sure with your mindset, you would also have an issue in saying Thabk you tö those who are in your employ or offer you service— like artisans, drivers, cleaners, etc. Saying Thabk you doesn’t make you less nor does it mean the person is your source, it simply tells more about the state of your heart— one filled with gratitude and not taking anything for granted. I thank drivers, artisans, vendors who work for me even after paying them. It is me placing value on their services and letting them know they are appreciated. I worked with a woman some years ago whom I always thanked after she sends me a very meager sum. That little act I believe was why she didn’t find my replacement even though I wasn’t indispensable. I am wired tö thabk people for everything— little or big. If they get prideful over it, it reveals their state of heart to them, and it is hardly my issue. My own role is to spread positivity with every opportunity I am given. There are lots of competent people who can take up any job I am offering, rhat the employer gave me a chance, is him/her choosing to patronize me above others and that deserves my Thabk you. As I Thabk God for helping me stay engaged and not being jobless, I also remember the channel He chose to bless me through. Again, it doesn’t make me less, it simply shows me the state of my heart. And I am fine with it. Everyone should stay with what works for them. There are no rules tö this. We dauthor=Nazgul post=137568213]Thanking your boss for paying you for services you rendered seems awkward to me. Your salary is not a gift. It’s not charity. It’s not a personal favour. You showed up for 30 days, dealing with stress, deadlines, pressure, sickness, unexpected tasks...etc, and all the wahala that comes with the job. Yet you still gave your best to keep the company moving. That is value. And value deserves compensation. Sadly, a lot of Nigerians have been conditioned to see basic their rights as privileges. So instead of standing confidently on the fact that you earned your pay, they act like the boss did them a special favour by releasing the salary they already worked for. Yes, you can be respectful, professional, and appreciative of good working conditions, but collecting your salary is not something you should feel indebted for. You’re not being blessed, you’re being paid what you deserve. It’s time people started valuing their effort and understanding that compensation is a Right, not a privilege.[/quote] |
Interesting perspective. But if we must discuss religion, then let’s start here: are we even certain Wike is a Christian? Titles don’t always translate to conviction. Beyond that, everyday life teaches us lessons that help us fulfil purpose. If the only analogies that make sense to someone are strictly Christian examples, then we severely limit how God speaks. Scripture shows God using ravens, foreign kings, Pharaoh, and even a donkey to teach and correct. So learning from a person’s disposition or character does not mean endorsing their faith. It simply means you are wise enough to see patterns. This post is about Yerima’s posture, Yerima’s obedience, and Yerima’s refusal to be distracted. It has nothing to do with who he worships. If a Muslim or African Traditional Religion practitioner displays discipline, courage, or integrity, does it suddenly become worthless because it didn’t come from a Christian? That kind of thinking will make a person blind to the lessons God places around them daily. And let’s be honest: Yerima being a soldier perfectly illustrates what Scripture already teaches us. Paul said: • “Endure hardness as a good soldier of Christ” • “No soldier entangles himself with civilian affairs” If I must look specifically for a Christian soldier before I can be inspired, then I’ve already missed the point. God uses anything and anyone to remind us of Kingdom posture. So, between “Wike is a Christian and Yerima is a Muslim,” lies one truth: character is not tied to religion—character is revealed in conduct. Again, thank you for your comment. CodeTemplarr: |
We must not miss the lesson in the Yerima and Wike situation, because it mirrors our walk as Christians in a very real way. Remember the young prophet in 1 Kings 13. God gave him clear, direct instruction: deliver the message, do not eat, do not drink, and do not return the same way. But an older prophet came with a contrary word, and he listened. That one decision cost him his life because he left the authority of God’s instruction and opened the door to the enemy. Yerima also had a clear mandate from his boss, and Wike’s voice came like the old prophet’s—loud, influential, intimidating, but contrary. Yerima held his ground. He stayed with the instruction he was given. If anyone has issues with his firmness, the matter is not with him but with the authority that sent him. As Christians, our own authority is God, and God speaks to us through His Word. He says, “You shall not die but live.” He says, “You shall lend to nations.” He says, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you.” No contrary voice should be given access to override what God has said. No situation you are facing should make you rewrite or reduce the narrative of God’s Word concerning you. Heaven’s instruction is final. What God has spoken stands firm. Sometimes this bold obedience and confession of truth is called pride or arrogance. It is not. It is light. It is clarity. It is knowing who you are in Christ and refusing to surrender your mandate to intimidation. Bashiga. No entry to distractions and stuff that doesn’t align to God’s word. Do not enter where God has not sent you. Do not open the door for the enemy by stepping outside your assignment. Mount your garrison. Stay at your duty post. Remain where God’s Word covers you. That is where safety, authority, and favour flow. We dey flight. No distractions. Shalom shalom.💕

Let thrm steal if they like. After all, we have all the natural resources but don’t seem to be made better by it. In truth, the poor masses lose nothing. Well, whatever is coming is an assumption. At least we know what we have going already. A nation where teterrorists agave taken siege over our land and are spreading gradually. So it is actually a matter of time that even the places we think are peaceful right now will be over run. If you can’t see this, I don’t know what tö say. See how Terrorists are openly carrying weapons and our govt is saying nothing. They know these guys. But they call them bandits instead of terrorists. A nation where the Fulanis are immune to the law. A nation where we claim to rehabilitate terrorists and incorporate them into our military. And you claim IPOBS are rejoicing. Well, I am not IPOB but I am glad about this development. quote author=nothingspoil70 post=137324331]This Mike Arnold of a man is truly a CIA agent sent to do some dirty jobs in Nigeria but Ipobs are supporting and cheering him on to scatter their country. It is easy to know if a channel is monetized or not. Not that it matters if he is or not. Use social blade app to confirm. Don’t just say he is without confirmation. It is wrong tö say someone is earning money from something when he isn’t. The structure doesn’t need to happen through monetization. Nathaniel is a man that commands favor through his lifestyle. I and many others would gladly give to anything he fronts because we know he isn’t money-centric. I respect his portrayance of Christianity. No hype! No self! When people call out the government is because we know we have the capability and resources to be more as a nation. God has blessed us exceedingly with human and natural resources which most poor nations can't boast of. I believe Nigeria will be great someday but saying we should celebrate the mediocrity we exude at this time is not exactly correct. Pootle: |
I believe that is what the post truly meant. I may be wrong. But I feel like the OP used you are no longer a visitor (guest) to depict when you are no longer treated with respect. More like when did you realize you have overstayed your welcome in your best friend's house. Because in my opinion, for someone to be your best friend, you can't be a visitor in their home. Where is the sentiments coming from, please? The senate President read the rules so you know why she couldn’t tread on it and Senate Oshiomowole was clear as well. They already instituted a committee to review the clause and they were to report back on 2 weeks, she should be talking to the committee. Please, if Akpabio has allowed her to speak, it would go against the Senate rule which was what Adams Oshiomwole pointed out. If you noticed, Akpabio wanted to give her preference but Adam’s Oshiomwole called him to order. Please, being a woman doesn’t mean we are above the rules that bind an institution. And yes, I’m a woman and No! I am not an APC fan. owobokiri: |
Nice analysis. Well done. However, I don’t think your permutations are without flaws.😊😊 I’m an ardent supporter of Peter Obi anf I’ll say this: If we had a system where our votes counted, your analysis could work. But the INEC chairman cannot counter his employer; else he’d be jobless. The opposition ought tp have been pushing for electoral reforms if they believed the 2023 elections was rigged, but sadly, they are quiet. This is why I won’t be voting come 2027, unless there are electoral reforms. That said, fielding Atiku as the presidential candidate is the smartest way to have a shot at the North, as the North don’t trust Peter Obi to do a single term. That is a very strong consideration which was why Goofluck Jonathan came into the picture in the first place— he is sure to do just 4 years. So my take is simple: Peter Obi should deputize Atiku Abubakar. That’s the surest and fastest way to get a South Eastern President. Atiku will want to leave that legacy. Penguin2: |
Lost her spot?? Interesting. How about the fact that she may have dodged a bullet? Not all relationships lead to marriage. Some may have left a lesson too major to recover from. And still, not all marriages are bliss. So yeah! She may have dodged a bullet. zoer: |

Again, the comparison is gross. Tinubu is the president of Nigeria. So it he isn’t held responsible for the impunity in the land who should be held responsible? Peter Obi is a private citizen. How can’t you see it? zero8zero: |
So much water went under the bridge and her sanction was based on all of them-- from the drama she first had with the Senate President that saw Nigerians on her side and I think the SP apologized. That episode made her very vocal trusting that Nigerians will be on her side again. So after being reprimanded for flouting the house rules, she ran to the public court again. I'm not an Akpabio fan, and don't plan to be. However, I clearly see a woman who is trying to play on the emotions of people. This is why I will never support her approach on the matter. How she didn't scream sexual harassment until her seat was reassigned makes me believe she downplayed the sexual harassment (if any). Her main pain was the favors she stopped receiving and for that she doesn't appeal to me as one who vehemently seeks change for a cankered system. Dear Natasha, you are part and parcel of the crooked system. It only came for you this time. chipet67: |
Hmmm...indeed, we live in interesting times. Dear Lord, may it not get more 'interesting', Amen. chisomkachy: |
I'm sorry I don't share your sentiments. So feel free to call me names. However, I am a wise woman and would rather allow logic than emotions define me. We don't fight a rot because it stops favoring us. That's not true activism. So when I see a woman who is truly fighting for change, she won't need to go to AriseTV before my voice will raise solidly behind her. Thanks for stopping by. DMerciful: |
