I watch ID channel a lot and I can tell you there was a time in these developed countries when getting justice took decades, because technology wasn’t this advanced.

There were even murder cases that were closed due to lack of forensic or substantial evidence that were later revisited. Sometimes, decades later.

I had to mention this because you had compared Nigeria to developed countries.

My way of saying murder cases aren’t easy for judges to convict even when evidence is glaring.

Some countries don’t even do death. Most states in the US don’t do death but they go for life imprisonment, instead— because it isn’t easy to convict someone to death. Judges are humans and often don’t want to be tainted with blood on their hands— I think.

Often, the justices want to ensure that no stone is left unturned. To sentence someone to death is not easy on any judge. Let no one tell you otherwise.

Like even if there is a network issue from their end, you are billed. Once you type in a USSD code of your bank using an MTN line, N6.98k goes.

Surely, MTN claims that is their transaction with banks and WemaBank didn’t dispute this when I contacted both MTN and Wembank customer service.

The interesting part is that they don’t even send an SMS to your phone. It is one of those monies that just fly off.

WemaBank is kind enough to send emails of N6.98k for these transactions. Others just ignore it.

There was a time I was billed 14times. N6.98k and I was just getting emails to this effect. Initially I thought I it would be reversed, but when I called, I heard otherwise.

Even when it is clearly the fault of my service provider, I am billed.

That’s the Naija we live in. Impunity at its peak.

GTB has become inefficient, annoying, fraudulent, proud, self-seeking, profit-by-any-means oriented and unreliable. So is Zenith Bank who made an illegal deduction of 20,000 on an account I was not actively operating. I have left the account like that since 2023. It will be there forever. I will not even dignify them with a visit or complaint. When they choose to reconcile their accounts, they will discover their gullibility.

The election of 2023 was one that Nigerians United to vote in Peter Obi. Almost like the June 12 election of Moshood Abiola. People truly saw hope when they thought their votes will count. And without structure of any kind, Obi won Abuja—the only candidate to have gotten 25% by the way. This tells you something.

If the East wanted to rig the elections, they would have done so in favor of APGA. So forget it! Peter Obi is a man called blessed.

I have been to Togo a couple of times and I can see for a fact, that it doesn’t come close to Nigeria in anyway.

Even with their money that is higher than the naira presently, the standard of living there is way lower. I can’t explain further.

Most countries have flagged Nigeria as a no go area due to insecurity. So when a governor is investing in tourism, the question is who are the tourists they plan to woo?

No one just carries their bag and travel to a country without doing research. With all the insecurity plaguing Nigeria that’s in the news, any tourist planning to come is embarking on a suicide mission.

You guys should invest in checkmating insecurity.

When that is checked. You will naturally attract tourists.

Some of the African countries that attract tourists aren’t half as endowed as Nigeria. This tells you that tourists seek serenity and exploration of our cultural diversity.

We can’t be more developed than the countries we are copying structures from.Why would an American come to Nigeria because of world class structures when that’s what they have in their countries?

Foreigners come to Africa not to admire beautiful or world class structures but to explore our cultural heritage— that’s what makes us unique.

If we can sell what makes us unique as local as it may be, and have an atmosphere that’s conducive, tourism will flourish without drama.

I wonder why our leaders don’t know this.

But often, there is no remorse and they keep compounding falsehood to cover their flaws. Pride will never allow them retract.

When you know this, correction is often a waste of time. You just go ahead and correct their errors lest they being disrepute to the body.

Most ministers act like they know it all and my reservation is how their spiritual fathers never call them to order.
